About 2 months later.

Bravo once again filled the waiting room of Avis Intensive Care Medical Center. Just like they had done every day since their teammate had been moved there. Hard to believe it had been 8 weeks 3 days 6 hours and 15 minutes since Reagan Anderson had risked everything for people she barely knew. Not that they were counting or anything. No. They weren't. They refused to allow themselves to count for the longer it had been the worse her odds of returning to active duty. They knew that would break her. During the 2 hour flight to Kabul medical center, Trent and the others had managed to stabilize her. They had a trauma team waiting on the ground. The best of the best for her. The team took her straight a as into surgery to repair internal damage. Then the medical team moved her to a traditional room thinking she was out of the dark part of the woods as it were. 2 hours later(not even) she was flatlining again. The initial surgery had missed how compromised her immune system really was after battling two STIs and bronchitis for two weeks. Her kidneys were working double time, leaving a acid hole in one. Kabul couldn't give her the help and treatment she so desperately needed. After taking her up for a temporary patch, she was airlifted to Avis where she was now. They were able to save her kidney, and had her on treatments for both STI's. Unfortunately doing both the operation and the kidney treatments, as well as the STI meds at the same time would have left her in a lot of pain, so she was left sedated. Both infections were now treated, so there was no longer a reason to keep her sedated. All of Bravo had been taking turns sitting with her. Attempts were being made to contact her family. It's Jason's turn to sit with her. He'd brought a book, but he couldn't read it for long. Not when his newest teammate was laying in a hospital bed, thinking he for sure hated her. He was a definite hot head, alpha male at times. He just hoped he got the chance to apologize for his actions. As her heart monitor started going up, Jason panicked for a second. Was this another complication? He looked at her to see what was happening, allowing him to relax. He saw her getting restless and talking. She was caught in a nightmare it appeared. He knew how to deal with those. He had his fair share. Almost all tier-1 operators did. He knew not to touch her until she was awake and with it, so when a nurse tried, he stopped them.

"Allow me to attempt wake her. You know, unless you want a black eye, or broken bones. Regan. Regan. It's just a dream. You're safe friend. Your stateside. It's not real. You're dreaming. Come on kick that dream where it counts, I know you can. Come on."

"Jackson?"

"No it's Jason. Wake up."

"What the duck are you doing here? You know you're supposed to stay away from me."

"I'm here because I care. I'll leave if you want me to, but you need to wake up first."

"Well um yeah I thought it was going to work. Your first priority, I thought, would be your reputation. Kinda hard to maintain it with an arrest on it. By a complainer no less."

'Shit' Jason thought. 'She's caught in a full blown flash back memory. I have to try and get her back in the present.'

"Reagan. You're safe. You're home. In the ICU. I'm glad to see you're awake, but you need to calm down."

"Calm down?! Calm down?! How can I when you're standing right in my way?!"

"Can you match my breathing? I'm going to come closer so you can feel my vibes. There you go. You're good."

Reagan POV.

I hear a soothing voice talking to me. My body responds on instinct. Then all of a sudden I'm sitting up with a start. Where am I? Just a second ago, I was in California with my worst nightmare about to come true. On base no less. Now I'm in a hospital somewhere. Did I pass out during the nightmare? Did one of the other teams find me and bring me in? But if that were true, why are they still here?

Jason POV.

I was happy to see that Reagan was awake. What I wasn't happy to see was the fear in her eyes.

. "Reagan you need to calm down. You're driving your heart rate way too high. Here feel my heartbeat. Can you calm yourself to match it? Would I be this calm if the danger around us was high? There you go."

Reagan POV.

I'm safe. I'm in a hospital. I'm in the ICU. I transferred away from California, safe from them. For now anyway. Don't know what I did to land myself here, but hey. Figure that out in a minute. Right now the man who didn't run away from me when my 'attack' hit, was trying to leave.

Third party POV.

"Don't leave me."

"I need to just let the rest of the team know your ok. They've been waiting the entire time you've been here. They'll want to know you're alright, and to see you."

She grabbed his arm and asked again. "Don't leave me here by myself. Please."

"I'll text them then. That way I don't have to leave you."

"I... I... thank you. You're the first to do this for me. "

To all bravo members

She's awake. One or to at a time. She's refusing to let me leave her.

To the best commander ever.

Can you do some digging on our new rookie? Would love to know more.
