It was finally time. Earlier in the morning, Reagan was finally given the all clear to return to work. She couldn't wait as she actually did miss operating. Helping out in HAVOC had kept her from going crazy, but she was still itching for action. Hopefully today there would be some. As she walks through the base, heads were turning wondering who she was. She knew it would be hard to believe she made it to this point, but she did. She didn't really know what to do about the eyes. She told herself to just push through and get to the cage room, where she could talk to the guys. About halfway to the cage room she'd be calling home, the evil looks began. Reagan just kept walking. She could handle that. An old mentor had once told her that people would flash her the evil eye 'cause they were jealous of her. Beautiful and successful woman. About a dozen steps further someone called her a name.

"Excuse me? WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!"

"Oh come on, you heard me. We both know it's true."

Oh she had heard him alright. And man did it hurt.

Wham! Right into the wall the he went. With him still pinned to the wall, Reagan grabbed his arm and pulled way back and up. Two autible pops could be heard.

"You dare call me that again, or even come anywhere near me EVER again, I'll be sending you to the infirmary with more than a broken arm and wrist, you hear me?"

"Loud and clear."

"Good."

With that Reagan was on her way. Now everyone would know she could take care of herself. But not everyone was ok with leaving good enough alone. Yeah someone else was going to prove their superiority and take her down. Soon she was wrapped in a giant bear hug and lifted off the ground. She could hear her dad's voice in her head. Many people think that in this line of work being born female is an automatic disadvantage. It's up to you 3 to prove its not. That it can be an advantage. Your bodies are built differently than a male's. Your bones are less dense and you have less muscle. You can climb walls and flip easily. Use it to your advantage. She centered herself as a wall came closer. As her feet hit the wall she let her knees bend, before using the wall to bounce off taking both her attacker and herself to the floor. However, unlike her attacker she was able to use the leftover momentum to get up. After that the fight was on. Reagan was holding her own pretty well, especially considering she was completely by herself. Eventually people were gathering around to watch. Money even exchanged hands. Reagan had no plans on ever showing off like that, but people needed to learn that she could be just as dangerous as any of them. Eventually command came strolling through.

"What in the world is going on here?!"

"She started it!"

"Is that true missy?"

"All due respect sir, but that's bullshit. Someone's ego got too big for his pants and he attacked me verbally. I was just protecting myself. Can't help it if they can't take having their ass kicked by a girl."

"Either way I need you to come with me. And the rest of you have places to be I'm sure."

"Yes sir."

"Does my team necessarily need to find out about this sir?"

"What, the whole you just kicked a bunch of guys asses out there? Or that some of them were way more than 2 times your size? Or that I had to break it up? I would be damn proud of myself if I were you. Not everyone can just go at it like you did. Think you can train some of the new recruits here?"

"Considering half of what I know is technically illegal, and the rest is highly frowned upon, I'd say not. But thanks for the sentiment, means a lot."

"Yeah. You usually that hot-headed? This going to be a frequent thing?"

"Nah. Usually the calmest around. But there's three... well actually four things that really set me off. One you come after me. Two you come after my team. Three you come after my family. Four you tell me this is a man's job."

"Oh well now I know. And that is good to know."

"Can I go now? It's my first day back after medical leave and I kinda want to get going."

"Of course. Oh and keep up the good work. They need to understand that you have just as much a right to be here as anyone else who passed training."

"Thank you sir. It means a lot."

As she continued to the cages she would now call home away from home, she thought to herself 'if only he knew half of it.' When she arrived at the door, she swiped her id and put in her pin code. The tell tale buzz told her that the door was open and she entered.

"Welcome back Reagan!"

"Thanks guys. Means a lot. And as much as I'm glad to be back, and want to celebrate, that can wait till after 5 tonight. I really just want to get right into it."

"Alright great. Just cause it's your first day back does not mean that we are going to take it easy on you."

"Bring it on!"

"Alright. Don't say we didn't warn you."

5oclock with our crew.

"woh wee your good. Never thought you'd not only keep up, but end up leading. How you do it." Jason asked.

"Advantage of having a dad who cares about helping me take care of myself. Self-defense training began at age 13" Reagan replied.

"Wow ok. Good work today. Everyone hit the showers and change. Celebration Drinks at bulkhead at 7?" Ray asks

7 affirmers. "Alright then. See you all then."

Reagan all but ran out of there. She couldn't wait to spend an hour under the warm shower spray. She was healed enough to return, but she was still not 100% back to pre-injury status. She had to go to her cage first, since she was brand new to the team and didn't have a stall yet. She pulled out the clothes she had on that morning, only to find out that they'd been destroyed. 'Men' she thought to herself. 'They just can't stand a woman being better than them at anything.' That she was used to. Finding her property destroyed or missing? Not so much. 'Well if I leave now, I should still make it in time.' So that she did. Despite her delay she was still ready early. The benefits of having 3 siblings and 1 bathroom growing up she supposed. She made the decision to walk to meet the guys. It was still pleasant out, and it was only a few blocks. About halfway to the bar, something stopped her in her tracks. A strange noise came from an alleyway. She paused. She was about to continue on her way when she heard it again. Most people would have kept going. But she wasn't most people. Growing up in post-Ann NOLA pretty much guaranteed that. She stopped to see. There she found an injured girl no older than 17 lying there. Reagan quickly checked the surrounding area and found no one else. She then called for an ambulance for the wounded girl. Trouble seemed to find her wherever she went.
