Before Angel could introduce himself, Willow interrupted "This is Xanders cousin Oliver." Angel looked at Willow wide eyed but decided to just go with it. He had been around humans long enough to understand there was a hidden reason for her not allowing him to disclose who he really is. Anyway, what would he have said "Hello Riley, I'm the father of Buffy's baby and I'm here to claim what's mine." Any fool could see how that would have ended up. Angel extends a handout to Riley, and they shake hands firmly. "Nice to meet you I'm Riley Finn, why don't you guys come on in, my parents are in town visiting, but don't mind them. Buffy is upstairs I can run up and get her or you both are welcome to head on up." Angel looked around the cozy home and saw hints of buffy's everywhere he looked the home decor was definitely Buffy's style. He pictured how the mansion would look with splashes of her everywhere. It took him back to when she was in high school and she was asking him about adding mirrors and drawers to the mansion that seemed like a lifetime ago. Hearing Willow speak brought him back to the present. "Ohh that's fine Riley go hang out with your family! We just wanted to catch up with Buffy as all and we'll be out of your hair in no time." She said with a shaking her voice that if you knew her you could tell she was nervous. But with Riley not being as close to her he couldn't even hear the nervousness within her voice. He led them to the bottom step and said " 4th door on the right" as they got closer to the bedroom Angel could sense buffy it was their little magnetic pull to one another. " Well her goes nothing, are you ready?" will asked staring into the vampires eyes. All angel could do was give a slight shake of his head.

Giving a light tap to the door Willow and Angel walked inside to see a crying Buffy laying in bed. Seeing her look so small and frail and curled up in the bed broke angel's heart. All he wanted to do was be there for her and stop whatever was causing her so much pain and distress. Sitting up and wiping her tears Buffy thought at first that she was seeing things. Why would Angel and Willow both be standing here in her and Riley's bedroom. For a moment no one said anything at all until Buffy noticed angels eyes staring at her slightly swollen belly. Immediately her arms went protectively over her growing belly. Not because she thought Angel would harm her little tinker but because she had not told him, and this was not how she would have liked him to find out. Suddenly things started clicking together quickly for Buffy " You told him didn't you? That's why you both are here together." Buffy wasn't asking she was accusing and you could see the anger rising within her. " Buffy I told you he has the righ-" but before Buffy could even allow Willow to finish speaking she cut her off "well whatever Willow has told you she told you wrong." She stated glaring at Willow burning a hole right through her with her emerald eyes. Willow looked towards Buffy a mixture of hurt and disbelief in her eyes. "Buffy…please." Willow started to say but was cut off again by Buffy " I think its best if you both leave." Angel had heard enough he walked right towards Buffy "So you're telling me that she took a bus all the way to LA to lie to me and tell me that you are carrying my baby." Angel hadn't been this close to her in what felt like forever and her scent was intoxicating him he could also hear the sound of his child's heartbeat hammering Fastly against its tiny little chest. Buffys eyes grew more cold "like i said whatever willow told you is a lie this is not your baby this is Riley's baby he and i made together. Remember Angel you can't make little vampires." After the last word that came out of buffy's mouth she instantly regretted it but she was angry she was hurt and she was trying to have a normal life for her child. A life where all she had to do was be a mother during the day and when her child needed her and be The Slayer at night, her child was going to have a dad that could take it to the park and come to all the school events it would have a father that didn't crave blood but craved a Big Mac it would have a father in its life that she didn't have to worry about whether he would leave or not because he wanted what was best for her and the baby she would not allow her child to go through the heartbreak she went through after prom and the even bigger heartbreak she went through after Angel went to the oracles and erased the day. Angels jaw instantly tightened " we both know that's a lie." He stated very firmly. Buffy got even closer to him. He could feel the heat of her burning into his skin. She swallowed heard "Leave." Angel refused to back down he was going to fight not only to be in her life but his child's life. " You should have told me Buffy as soon as you found out, you should have told me that you remembered the day." Buffy started rolling her eyes " Angel what goes on in my life is none of your business, and for your information I wasn't gonna keep this from you I was eventually going to tell you when the time was right." Angel began to shake his head feeling anger stir up within him. "when the time was right? When would that have been never?" Buffy looked as if she was about to cry " You have no idea, what it was like…" and she stopped before her emotions could take over her. " Buffy this is about you keeping me in the dark about our child a life that we made! You made a decision regarding our child without me and you're letting some boy take the responsibility of you and our child. Are you doing this to punish me?" His voice was starting to rise. Buffys tears started to leak from her eyes " So what you're viewing this as me trying to take vengeance on you to punish you?" her voice was so shaky and her hormones were not helping her at all " yes that's exactly how I view it and when it comes to our child you don't have a right to do that." Angel was hoping this talk would go a lot smoother then it was… and right now he couldn't picture the happy ending he was hoping for. Buffy backed away from him and sat on the bed with no emotion in her voice or face she spoke up. "This baby and I have Riley in our lives now…that im in love with," angel felt his heart breaking into a million little pieces "And its not what you and I had..its new..," Buffy knew her words were cutting him like a blade straight to his undead heart but its what she needed to happen. She just wanted him to go away, so she dug in deeper. " You know what makes it new? I trust him. I know him." Angel refused to make eye contact with her for the next second that felt like minutes. He took a deep breath before looking her in the eyes " That's great..Its nice..you moved on. And I cant you found someone new who you have decided to replace me with…who you have decided can be a better father to our child then me. The last three weeks all I've done is sit and think about how this conversation would go because when I see you it cuts me up inside and the person I share that with is me. You don't know me anymore or what type of man or father that I will be for our child, so don't stand here in front of me and rub your brand new boyfriend in my face who you plan to replace me with and expect me to do things your way. I'm not going anywhere I'm not leaving my child to be raised by some idiot who sees a vulnerable woman and decides he wants to playhouse. " Angel can feels his self shaking and for a moment all they can both do is stare at each other until they hear the door open.. Its Riley. " Hey sweetie I figure my mom and dad would love to meet Willow and Oliver." Buffy takes a deep breath " No they were just leaving." Angel takes one more look at Buffy and shakes his head back and forth and follows Willow out the door but before shutting it completely he says " Im not going anywhere, ill be here fighting if you need anything ill be at the mansion." And with that he and Willow take off in the night. Riley wraps Buffy in his arms "What was that all about? It seemed tense. And why does Xanders cousin think you will need to meet him in some mansion?" Buffy didn't feel like explaining anything to Riley at the moment so she did what she knew would shut him up. " Just kiss me" she said and he did just that.

Hello everyone thank you for coming back and reading my story I know I take a lot of breaks and that is probably extremely annoying but bear with me I'm really going to be better about posting more thank you for those of you who reached out to me and asked me to please finish this story I didn't really think anybody liked it but apparently people do so I will continue to do so. I will try to be more consistent and post maybe twice a week because I know exactly where I want this story to go it's just sometimes there's not enough hours in the day for me to sit down and actually write something but my New Year's resolution this year is to complete this story.
