Episode 5: The King

Claws, teeth and fire are all he sees. Obsidius continuously attacks him but luckily for his tough hide and brute strength, the king easily overpowers the mutant. After throwing Obsidius across the battlefield, Godzilla snarls and warns his opponent to stand down. Obsidius doesn't listen and proceeds to lunge at Godzilla. But thanks to his intelligence, the titan ducks as Obsidius launches at him and fires his atomic breath at the beast. Obsidius is blasted back by his energy and crashes into a neighboring mountain. Godzilla takes this opportunity to run at his foe and slam Obsidius into the mountain. The two giants crash through the massive piece of land like it's made out of cardboard. Obsidius, clearly weakened and bruised from Godzilla's attack, still stands up and let's out a roar of absolute rage. Godzilla merely glares at him. The mutant then charges him at full speed. The king continues to stand still and wait for the right moment. Obsidius extends his hands out to the side and drags his claws across the ground as a way to sharpen them. He roars once again and begins to speed up. Godzilla continues to stand still. Obsidius screeches and prepares to slash Godzilla across the chest. But before he is given the chance to do so, Godzilla punches him across the face with such impact and breaks Obsidius's jaw. The kaiju lets out a cry of absolute pain and is then tail whipped away by Godzilla. Obsidius is sent tumbling and crashing the terrain, kicking up piles of dust and grass. He finally stops after crashing into another mountain. Godzilla watches this from a distance and waits for Obsidius to get up. Minutes go by and the beast is still laid out flat on the ground. The king heads back into the ocean, exhausted from the battle he had fought.

Leaving the choppers from above to watch as he disappears into the abyss.

Traveling through the deep blue, Godzilla passes marine life and underwater flora. He looks to his side and sees a pod of whales swim alongside him. To humans they seem like giants, but to Godzilla, they're no smaller than sardines. He switches his view to see where he's going. Godzilla increases speed in order to leave the depths of the ocean and find land. While swimming through the large mass of water, Godzilla's mind becomes crammed with many questions as he wonders to himself on how he got here? The last thing he remembers was a battle between his allies, the earth defenders, and the mutants. He was leading the charge against their enemies while his evil clone, Spacegodzilla, led the mutants. Godzilla continues to swim across the ocean while he tries to remember the events of that battle. It was during a heavy monsoon, he remembered him and the earth defenders arrived at the battlefield first. Shortly after, the mutants appeared and their quarrel began. Anguirus and Rodan went up against Krystalak, Mothra and Zilla fought against Megaguirus, Biollante went up against Kumonga, Varan, Behemoth and Kong; King Caesar fought Obsidius, Baragon tried to fight Destoroyah, Manda and Titanosaurus fought underwater, and Godzilla clashed with Spacegodzilla. Blood was spilt that day as the earth defenders tried their best to hold off the mutants. Godzilla even recalls his fight with Spacegodzilla being one sided as his clone was gaining the upper hand. As the brawl went on, Spacegodzilla continued to slaughter Godzilla without any signs of stopping. As the king fell to the ground, broken and defeated, Spacegodzilla was ready to unleash the final blow. But before he could, a bright beam of light shot down all around the kaiju. Their battle ceased as the last thing Godzilla saw, was nothing but light.

Godzilla's pupils grow more dilated as his memory of the skirmish ends there. He tries to recall what else happened but all he can remember is that ray of light firing down on them and waking up on this new earth. He never even knew where the beam originated from. He doesn't even know what that ray of light did to his fellow kaiju and the rest of the mutants. Although he does believe that if Krystalak and Obsidius are here, then there's a possibility that the other earth defenders are here as well. Godzilla then feels some sense of joy as his worries start to wither away knowing that his allies could be around here. However, as soon as he realizes that, his joy quickly disappears and is replaced with fear. He soon realizes that Spacegodzilla could be somewhere on this earth as well, searching for his army and planning to finally end this feud once and for all.

Godzilla stops his swimming as he realizes that he's lost. He was so preoccupied with remembering the past that he forgot to search for an island. He snarls at his idiocy and swims to the surface. In a few short seconds, Godzilla's head comes crashing through the still surface of the water, scaring off any nearby marine life. With his head out in the open, Godzilla examines his surroundings and tries to see if there's any piece of land nearby. He continuously turns his head from side to side but doesn't find a single thing. Godzilla turns himself around and finally sees land. He immediately begins swimming but with his head at the surface of the water in order to see which direction to actually travel in. Just a few short minutes later, Godzilla arrives at the island and makes his way on to its sandy beaches. The ground trembles as Godzilla makes his way past the beach and goes forward onto the grassy terrain. He stops for a few seconds to down and check for any other living organisms. He expects at least to see some animals on the island but only sees trees. Thousands and thousands of palm trees. He shakes his head and proceeds to go back before he hears a strange noise. Godzilla looks back to see what the noise was, but he sees nothing. Godzilla tries to head back to the ocean, but then a monster does a surprise attack on him. Godzilla quickly grabs his attacker and pins him on the ground. Godzilla roars furiously but then quickly stops himself. Godzilla releases the kaiju as it's only Anguirus. Godzilla steps back and produces a low growl. Anguirus gets up and shakes the dirt off his head. The armored reptile then turns to Godzilla and lets out a low growl as well. Both kaiju look at each other and they each nod to one another. Anguirus then looks around to see if there are any earth defenders around. He turns his head back to Godzilla and produces a weak roar to ask if he's seen any other members of the earth defenders. Godzilla shakes his head, letting Anguirus know that they are the first earth defenders to come in contact with each other after the incident. Anguirus then notices the claw marks on Godzilla's leg. Anguirus questions where the scars came from as he looks up at Godzilla and back again at the scars. Godzilla looks down at his leg and sees the scars as well. He then releases a frustrated growl after seeing his wounds. Anguirus knows that from the sound of Godzilla's voice that he must've run into some of the mutants. Anguirus then grows enraged as the thought of the mutants attacking and hurting his ally absolutely angers him. Godzilla notices his friend's annoyance and utters another low growl as a way to calm Anguirus down. Anguirus hears this and takes deep breaths. He closes his eyes and exhales, his frustration begins to slowly wither away.

While the kaiju keeps his emotions in check, Godzilla stares out at the sea as he begins to ponder what step to take next. He walks back and forth as he tries to think of a plan. Anguirus looks back up at Godzilla and sees the king walking in circles. He proceeds to scratch his chin as he puzzles over what exactly Godzilla is doing. Moments later, Godzilla is still walking around and Anguirus starts to grow tired. His eyelids grow heavy, making it difficult for him to stay awake. All of a sudden, Anguirus hears a splash from the nearby water and quickly turns around. At first he thinks it's Godzilla, who might've just jumped in to get some more privacy but Anguirus turns around and sees Godzilla standing right behind him. The two kaiju both share glances at each other as they question what could've caused that splash. Godzilla looks down at Anguirus and growls at him to let his ally know that this could be an enemy. Both earth defenders plant themselves on the ground and prepare for whatever comes out of the ocean. Godzilla focuses his sight on the surface of the water, looking for any other signs of life. Seconds later, another splash is heard but this time closer to the island. Anguirus digs his claws into the ground and slams his club tail on a boulder, crushing it. Another splash and the water begins to churn as something begins to make its way to the surface. Godzilla begins to growl while Anguirus snarls. The water then erupts as a massive shape bursts out of the ocean. Anguirus and Godzilla both grow shocked. As the water comes back down after being flung into the air, the two earth defenders see a creature with the color of pure red. Sharp spikes protrude out of both of its shoulders, it's hands only possess three claw-like appendages; bone white. It's head resembles that of a crustacean with a long, yellow horn at the very top of its head. It's eyes are a hellish yellow and its mouth is filled with serrated teeth. The creature lets out a roar that one would only hear on the verge of death. Anguirus and Godzilla both stare at each other with concerned looks as Destoroyah makes his way to the island. In only a few seconds, he arrives on the beach and lets out another one of his terrifying roars.

Godzilla and Anguirus part ways as they begin to circle Destoroyah. The demonic kaiju watches as both of them take each step. The mutant growls and keeps turning his head to face both of his opponents. While he does know that Godzilla can inflict some damage to him, Destoroyah fully understands that Anguirus stands no chance against his sheer power. He closely watches both of them as together they can be quite difficult. But if he manages to kill one of them, the other will stand no chance. Destoroyah then smiles and urges both of the earth defenders to attack. Godzilla knows that he's planning something and ignores Destoroyah's taunt. Unfortunately Anguirus isn't too quick to realize it's a trap and runs full speed at Destoroyah. The mutant sees this attack out of the corner of his eye and swiftly grabs Anguirus with his tail and throws him to the side. Godzilla roars and charges at Destoroyah. The mutant proceeds to walk calmly up to Godzilla and grab him by the throat. Godzilla then feels himself being pushed back by Destoroyah with just one hand. The demon even looks at Godzilla, letting the king know that he's not even using his full strength to hold the earth defender back. Destoroyah then slams Godzilla's head into a mountain. Godzilla tries to push Destoroyah back but the mutant's size and weight outmatches his own. A boulder hits the mutant in the back of the head. Destoroyah releases Godzilla and turns around to face Anguirus, running at full speed. Anguirus screams at Destoroyah and prepares to slam into him. Destoroyah already knows Anguirus's plan of attack and just extends his foot out. Anguirus sees this but is too late to stop himself. The earth defender then runs right into Destoroyah's foot at full speed. Spit, teeth and blood all shoot their way out of Anguirus's mouth. The overgrown armadillo falls back unconscious. Destoroyah roars in victory and walks over to him. The mutant grabs the unconscious Anguirus by the neck and lifts him up. Destoroyah almost lets out a pleased cackle. Suddenly, the massive beast is blasted right in the face by Godzilla's atomic breath. Destoroyah steps back and drops Anguirus. Godzilla keeps firing his energy attack and never lets up. Destoroyah starts to feel his own skin getting blown off due to the immense heat of Godzilla's attack. The mutant then releases his energy attack and the two titans engage in a beam struggle. Destoroyah's beam begins pushing back Godzilla's atomic breath. The earth defender feels his entire body getting pushed back each second. Godzilla tries to keep his energy blast stable but Destoroyah is too overpowered. Just when Godzilla feels as if he's going to give up, he gets a glimpse of Anguirus. He sees his ally broken and unable to wake up. The thought of losing one of his greatest colleagues fuels him with so much rage that Godzilla increases the power of his atomic breath. Destoroyah sees this and boosts his energy blast. Both energy attacks are at a disadvantage as they are at the same power level. With so much power, the combined beams begin to form a ball full of energy. The shape grows larger and larger until an enormous blast is unleashed and both kaiju are sent reeling back. The entire island is engulfed by the blast as a massive explosion forms. Moments later, the explosion fades away and the island is shown to be completely decimated. Grass is completely gone, along with the trees and most of the mountains are nothing but ash. All signs of life are completely absent.

Some pieces of debris begin to move as Destoroyah is alive. Although while he still breathes, most of his body has been burnt to a crisp. Even his face is completely black on the right side. The mutant grabs its arm in pain and proceeds to check the island. He carefully searches for any signs of the two earth defenders but fails to find them. The kaiju then limps away as he heads back into the ocean. As he vanishes, Godzilla rears his head up and lifts Anguirus over his back. Godzilla carefully walks to the water so as to not drop Anguirus. The two of them both submerge into the depths and Godzilla swims off while still holding Anguirus on his back. The king increases speed as now he realizes that he has to find the rest of the earth defenders as soon as possible.
