Episode 13: New Allies

The earth shakes as Godzilla makes his way onto the island. Each step he takes is like that of a tremor. He growls and narrows his eyes straight at the mutants. Godzilla roars once again and the mutants begin to step back from the heroes and other earth defenders. All except for Megaguirus, who is so annoyed and angered that she ignores the king's warning. Megaguirus flies down at Godzilla at a rapid speed.

He notices her and immediately grabs Megaguirus when she gets close enough, spins around and slams her to the ground. Godzilla then steps on one of her pinchers and breaks it. She lets out an unholy screech from experiencing such pain. Godzilla growls and kicks her away, almost as if he's disgusted by her. Krystalak charges at Godzilla and fires his energy beam at him. The earth defender reacts too slowly and is hit by Krystalak's energy blast. Godzilla puts his hands up as a defense against the attack but they barely do anything to stop the pain caused by the blast. Krystalak keeps moving forward while continuing to fire his energy blast at Godzilla.

Little does the mutant know that the king didn't come alone as he feels a sudden pain on his left leg. Krystalak roars and looks down to see Anguirus biting down on his calf. Anguirus then releases his mouth off the mutant's leg, ripping away some of the skin. Krystalak cries out but is cut short by Godzilla's tail slamming into him. The mutant falls back and reaches for his leg, which is now bleeding profusely. Godzilla then lifts the mutant over his head and uses his strength to throw Krystalak straight at the fallen Megaguirus.

The crystal giant lands right on the massive insect, causing a huge cloud of dirt and debris to blow about. Godzilla snarls and turns around to face Obsidius. As he does, Godzilla notices that the kaiju's right arm has been completely destroyed, leaving nothing but his right shoulder present. Godzilla quickly ignores this and fires his atomic breath at Obsidius, sending the mutant into a mountain. The other earth defenders watch at ease while Godzilla disposes of the mutants as not one of them has lasted more than a few seconds. The heroes as well watch in disbelief at Godzilla's sheer power and strength.

Kirishima: Damn look at that guy go! Those other monsters don't stand a chance!

Ojiro: He couldn't have shown up just a little bit earlier.

Tokoyami: At least that creature actually did arrive or else we would've probably met our fates.

Ashido: That's blunt.

Their conversation is stopped as Godzilla grabs Obsidius by the tail and swings him towards the other mutants. Krystalak and Megaguirus both try to move out of the way but they're too weak at this point. Obsidius crashes right into them and joins in the pile. Godzilla releases a roar of victory and aggressively snarls at the mutants. Not wanting to be killed today, Krystalak quickly digs into the soil as he vanishes and runs off. Obsidius joins him as he lunges into the massive whole Krystalak dug while Megaguirus flies off into the sky. Disappearing as she enters the clouds. Godzilla growls and turns around to face the other earth defenders.

Kong smirks and nods his head at Godzilla. Baragon bows as a sign of respect to his leader and Anguirus just scratches an itch on his neck. Godzilla then notices the heroes on the ground and bends down to get a closer look at them. Godzilla casts a massive shadow over the students as they can see is his large snout, breathing in air and blowing out air. Aizawa urges the students to remain still, thinking that sudden movements might upset the beast. Godzilla softly growls and exhales another large heap of air right at the heroes. Uraraka is the one closest to Godzilla as everytime he releases a breath, all of her hair gets blown right in her face.

Mineta takes a small step which gets Godzilla's attention. The kaiju goes over to Mineta and inspects him. Godzilla lifts his head up just a few feet in order to get a clear view of all the heroes. As he examines them, he thinks to himself of how odd these humans look to him. He's been around humans for many years but he's never seen ones like these before. As he continues to watch them, Kong walks up Godzilla and gets his attention. The great ape then proceeds to tell Godzilla of the whole ordeal. Kong especially mentions the students going against the three mutants.

Godzilla at first is in disbelief by Kong's story but the more he goes on, Godzilla's interest begins to peak even more. Kong is no liar and not easily surprised by much but the way he's describing these events, Godzilla knows that he's speaking the truth. The king merely shrugs off the story but continues to think about Kong's words as he turns around and sees three more humans. Godzilla arches his back to get a better view of them. As he does, his eyes begin to widen slightly as his memory comes back to him. Two of the humans that he is viewing were there on the night he first fought Krystalak. One of them immediately recognizes as he sees Izuku's green hair. Godzilla moves his eyes to the left just a bit and sees the other human he recognizes. This time however, he notices the strange objects that surround the human's hands. They almost resemble weapons that were used on him whenever the military would attack.

Godzilla then stands up to his full height, facing his fellow earth defenders. He then turns to Kong and asks if any of the others have been spotted.

While Kong and Godzilla talk, Izuku runs over to All Might who is now in his shrunken form. While he is weak, All Might still stands tall as Izuku makes his way up to him.

Izuku: All Might! Are you ok? Are you hurt?

All Might: A few bruises but I'll be fine.

The two of them then look up at Godzilla and Kong.

All Might: Now what do you think they're talking about?

Izuku: I don't know but that's the same monster that appeared at Musutafu that one night. The one that managed to scare off the creature with the crystals on its back.

All Might: That's right. Looks like him and the ape must be close friends by the way they're talking with each other.

Izuku: Wait, don't you remember what Koda was telling us when he talked to the ape? He said that he was part of a group called the earth defenders. He listed off the names of each member and one in particular was named Godzilla.

All Might: Oh that's right. I got a feeling that that must be him. The ape did mention a leader and from the way that thing fought, he has to be Godzilla.

They continue to watch the two titans as they are still deep in conversation.

All Might: He doesn't really look like the most approachable monster but we shouldn't rely on appearances alone.

Izuku: I mean he does look kind of terrifying but he doesn't seem that aggressive unless he has to be.

All Might: You bring up a good point young Midoriya.

They feel the ground start to tremble just a bit as they see the red colored monster make his way over to the class. While the other students become frightful, Uraraka stands in the same spot as she does not fear Baragon. Baragon lowers his head to inspect the young hero. Uraraka still stands her ground. Baragon recognizes the young girl and lets out a low growl. Uraraka carefully puts her hand on his snout and Baragon smiles a little. Uraraka smiles in awe at how Baragon is acting like a dog. The heroes also watch in awe as well. Kong then notices Kaminari standing out in the crowd. The giant ape notices the child is exhausted but if he was still conscious, Kong would've thanked the boy.

The heroes remain in the same area as before. Watching the monsters talk amongst each other while Baragon still stays close to Uraraka.

Kirishima: So now what?

Aizawa: I think it's time we head back.

Just as they take one step, the class notices a mysterious blue light appear in the clouds. At first it appears to be very faint and hardly noticeable, but soon the light grows more pronounced and finally the clouds depart as two giant, butterfly wings appear on the sky. The heroes stop themselves as they're too focused on the beauty they see in front of them. The kaiju as well stop their growls and bellows as they look up at the sky. The two wings then start to become dimmer as a large moth lands at the top of one of the mountains. Mothra has now arrived.

The students' breaths are taken away at the sight of this new creature as unlike the other monsters, who seem intimidating, this new arrival appears quite majestic and peaceful. It's blue wings shine a pure bioluminescence that are blinding to the eye. This new creature then releases a loud squeal like that of a marine mammal. All Might and Izuku both smile as they are given a sense of happiness and levity by the sight of the kaiju alone. Izuku then recalls Kong's words and discovers the name of this new creature.

Izuku: This must be...Mothra?

All Might: Well that's ironic. A giant moth is named Mothra. Who would've guessed?

Izuku lightly chuckles at All Might's comedic tone.

The other students gasp and stare in amazement at the beauty of the Queen of the Monsters. Godzilla notices Mothra and smirks a little. The earth defenders also stare at Mothra's beauty and majesty. Mothra then flies off the mountain and heads towards the heroes and kaiju. Godzilla then hears a familiar growl and turns to his right to see Behemoth appear. But right behind the mammoth-like kaiju, Zilla and Kumonga follow up right behind. King Caesar joins in their arrival as he takes another step out of the ocean. Kong and Anguirus turn their heads to the side and see a few familiar faces as well. Varan, Gorosaurus and Manda also arrive on the island. The last one to arrive is Rodan as he comes down and causes the ground to shake as he lands in front of Godzilla. The fire demon lets out a roar and looks up to Godzilla. The king nods his head at the winged kaiju. Rodan then bows to his friend and leader. Shortly after, Anguirus joins him and so does Kong. Gorosaurus bends one of his knees and bows as well. Manda soon follows his lead, then Mothra, King Caesar, Behemoth, Kumonga, Varan and finally Baragon all bow to the King of the Monsters. The heroes become confused.

Ashido: What are they doing?

Asui: It looks like they're bowing to him.

Tokoyami: Perhaps that creature is royalty to them.

Hagakure: That's good and all but can we leave please.

Jiro: Yeah can we actually get off this island.

Aizawa: Stay together and follow closely behind me. Don't get too close to them. Just keep walking towards the Thunderbird.

Mr. Aizawa then leads the students back to the Thunderbird as all of the kaiju get back up and watch them leave. The last of the students to get on is Izuku as he looks back and sees Godzilla staring at him. Izuku finishes climbing into the Thunderbird and they head off. Gran Torino joins Aizawa as captain while All Might sits in one of the passenger seats and rests. As the Thunderbird flies off from the island, Rodan turns to Godzilla and screeches at him. Rodan then questions what they missed which Godzilla answers by stating that the mutants were here. The other earth defenders look at one another as they know that the war is far from over. They may have won their own separate battles but it's only the beginning of the mutants' attacks.

Minutes turn into hours and hours turn into days as the Thunderbird reaches closer to Musutafu, Japan. The whole way back, the students rest and remain silent as they process the journey they just experienced. While some are traumatized, others such as Izuku and Uraraka think about the kaiju they met. While Uraraka only thinks about Baragon, Izuku has his mind on all of the kaiju as not once on their trip did he ever fear them. In fact, they almost seemed more human than the other kaiju they faced. The way they communicated and acted with each other seemed as if they had more personality than one would think. The young hero even ponders about the battle they shared on the island. Surprisingly, some of the kaiju were willing to sacrifice themselves for him and his students despite them barely even knowing who they were. What Izuku finds shocking is that they actually made a good team. Maybe if his class wasn't there, Godzilla might've lost some of his allies from that fight. Izuku is too deep in thought to realize that they've finally made it back to Musutafu. The Thunderbird makes landfall as the rest of class wake up from their slumber or get snapped out of their train of thought. Class 1-A makes their way out of the Thunderbird and onto the field. Aizawa is the last one to get off the Thunderbird as he follows behind Gran Torino and All Might.

Aizawa: I can see that you are all exhausted.

The class gives a unified groan as a result of the events they went through the past couple of days. Izuku being the only one to not be tired.

Aizawa: As a result of this, you will not have to come to class tomorrow.

Class 1-A become awake again as they start to grow excited.

Aizawa then smiles and immediately crushes their hopes.

Aizawa: That was a lie. You'll still have to come into class tomorrow but you can stay in your dorms for the rest of the night. Get some rest, you all look like you're in desperate need of it.

Aizawa walks off as Gran Torino joins him. All Might stops Gran Torino as he starts to wander away.

All Might: What are you gonna do now?

Gran Torino: I'm gonna head over to the police station and talk with Tsukauchi. Tell him about what we learned from those monsters and maybe we can come up with a plan for the future. We have no idea what to expect with those things running around. Best thing to do is prepare.

All Might watches the two leave. The students then walk right past him. All except for Izuku.

Izuku: You're leaving too?

All Might: Yeah Sorry young Midoriya. But you'll see me around tomorrow. I gotta heal myself from that fight. You should too. That kick I'm sure is gonna leave a nasty scar. Get some rest okay.

Izuku: Sure.

All Might smiles and pats Izuku on the shoulder as he walks off to the main U.A. building. Izuku joins the others as they walk up to the dorms. As Izuku catches up, Iida runs up right next to him.

Iida: Quite an experience, don't you think Midoriya?

Izuku: I don't think I'll forget that soon.

Iida: Agreed. I'm wondering what those creatures are gonna do now since it seemed like they were all back together. Maybe they'll stay on that island. Probably make it their own home.

Izuku: You do have a point.

As they get closer to dorms, Izuku stops and asks Iida an important question.

Izuku: Iida, what do you think of these monsters?

Iida: What do I think of them? You mean what's my view on them?

Izuku nods his head with a serious expression on his face as he wants to know what Iida's take on this whole situation.

Iida: Personally, I think they're more than just rampaging monsters. From what I saw of them, they seemed like each one of them cared for each other and did anything they could to assist. They even protected us.

Izuku: So you think that they could be possible allies?

Iida: I don't know about that but it could happen. I guess only time will tell. Now come on, I'm ready to finally get some rest after this whole ordeal.

Izuku thinks to himself about Iida's words as they both share a common view on the kaiju. The two of them think that there is more to those monsters than just intimidation and raw power. Each one seemed they had more personality underneath than what was shown on the surface. Izuku opens the door and prepares to close it before looking back out at the setting sun and thinking about the kaiju one last time. But rather than focusing on the earth defenders, he instead thinks about the other kaiju. The ones that were trying to hurt him and his classmates. Deep down, he knows that won't be the last time they encounter them again. One of these days, they'll return and another battle will ensue. But now, whatever comes their way, at least they won't be facing it alone. Izuku then closes the main door to the dorms and heads up to his room. The second after he enters, he crashes onto his bed and passes out.

Thousands of miles away from Musutafu and the location of the earth defenders, another island covered in dead plants and trees along with jagged rocks and a dormant volcano, is in perfect tranquility. The island is covered by many clouds as the moon shines through some of them, offering the island some much needed light. Rocks begin to tumble and the ground cracks wide open. Krystalak makes his way out first while Obsidius takes a few seconds longer to break out from underground. The two mutants are incredibly injured and embarrassed that they were defeated so easily. Failing at the hands of Godzilla is one thing, but to lose to a group of humans is another. Obsidius grows more and more irritated from thinking about their loss so much that he rips off a piece of the ground and throws it across the land. He roars angrily into the sky while Krystalak laughs at Obsidius's anger. The lava titan turns to face Krystalak and kicks him. Krystalak hisses and grabs Obsidius by the throat, threatening to kill his ally if he assaults him again. The two break it up as Megaguirus calls out to them. The insect finds a spot on a flat rock and inspects her broken pincher. She wails from the immense pain. Krystalak merely rolls his eyes and begins to walk off. He is then stopped by the call of another kaiju. At first they think it's an earth defender but the kaiju cries out again and they soon realize who it is. Out of nowhere, a large mass of green bursts out from underground as Biollante reveals herself. The other mutants grow surprised as this is the first time they've seen her since the battle with the earth defenders before they were transferred here. The water next to the island begins to boil as well. Bubbles form for a few shorts moments before they eventually pop. Millions of them appear as an aquatic kaiju slowly rises up from the depths. Titanosaurus shakes the water off from his speckled body and walks up to the other mutants. Obsidius welcomes the newcomer but their reunion is cut short as Destoroyah makes his way towards them. Krystalak cringes at the sight of the new mutant as his face is extremely burnt but not as bad as before. Destoroyah notices Krystalak's reaction and growls at him but quickly silences himself as he spots a shadowy figure. The mutants look in the same direction as Destoroyah and grow somewhat shocked at what they see. Biollante lets out a small cry while Krystalak and Obsidius release low growls. Titanosaurus only blankly stares at the figure. Megaguirus lowers her head as the figure makes his way closer to the group. Two large crystals appear but the rest of the kaiju is concealed by a fog surrounding the island. The mutants all remain silent as two orange eyes are seen peering through the thick fog. A large smile then materializes as SpaceGodzilla begins to cackle maliciously, knowing that this new earth is his for the taking.
