Chapter 8: Bowling and Dinner
The next day, we all met up at Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville for Sundaze bowling. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. While jamming out to NSYNC and 98 Degrees, we composed a Childhood Chat in which Jessica Linden discussed eating chips for a snack in 4th grade in downtown Pittsburgh, Allison Brawner discussed eating pancakes for breakfast in 6th grade, Julia Robison discussed making YouTube videos in 5th grade in the North Side, Elizabeth Mosh discussed sporting her new slippers in 11th grade in Oakland, Isabella Black discussed making a craft in 6th grade in Shadyside, and Nicole Ellis discussed eating doughnuts for breakfast at 20 years old in the South Side. "The food Childhood Chats were delicious," Carly happily admitted. "Chips, pancakes, doughnuts, that reminds me of the cupcakes that we should eventually pick up for Abigail Carson's Alaskan Adventures Sleepover on Saturday." "Those would be a great idea," Mr. Benson agreed. "They will be just like the cupcakes that you made back in middle school," Spencer stated. "I have tried bowling my best, but it is still not as easy as it looks to be," Alex stated. "I want to be like Justin and Max someday bowling without bumpers." "It just takes practice," Justin stated. "Yeah, you have got this," Max agreed. "This makes me want spring and summer activities to come more than ever," Alex stated. "Not only was the spring of 2010's weather so marvelous, but I got all new beautiful spring clothes, and I was in Elizabeth's grade that she was in at the time, getting ready to take here PSSAs, but that is something that we will talk about next week at the discussion group!" "The only difference was that April was cold, rotten, and snowy in 2018 and Elizabeth got into Community College of Allegheny County Boyce Campus, while I did, indeed, get into the University of Pittsburgh," Alex continued. "Yes, that and 2022 both had 2000 win for April weather-wise," I added. "Anyway, let's get back to your bowling! You can even play an extra game or two to try and beat your score!" It turned out that Alex had not gotten up to 100 points, but she did beat her high score with her final score being 98 points for her favorite boy band, 98 Degrees. Then, we treated ourselves to dinner at Industry Public House across the street. While jamming out to Kate Bush and Lizzo, we composed another Childhood Chat in which Hannah Mifflin discussed doing different activities at 5 and 6 years old in the eastern suburbs, Sarah Ching discussed doing different activities at 8 and 9 years old in the city of Pittsburgh, Madison Dayley discussed doing different activities at 8 years old in the western suburbs, Jennifer Preager discussed doing different activities at 14 years old in the northern suburbs, and Kayla Jennis discussed doing different activities at 16 years old in the southern suburbs. "Nice Childhood Chat," James stated. "Yes, definitely," Sarah agreed. "This is reminding us that these activities are just around the corner," Henri stated. "I know that 3 of the 5 clients graduated from school already, but I am sure that they know how it feels to be asked out to a school dance and to have someone cheat off of their exam, like James and Sarah did in high school," I pointed out. "Thankfully, they will have just 4 more months left of this before they graduate high school." "I remember when we met Hannah and her sisters back in the summer of 2015," Sarah pointed out. "They were all really cool young girls." "We didn't know Madison at the time, even though they are in the same grade, and the 3 girls who have already graduated from high school were all in middle school: Sarah entering 6th grade, Jennifer entering 7th grade, and Kayla entering 8th grade," I remembered. "I just do not want to talk so much about 'blackhole' weather years like 2013 and 2014. Not to mention, the weather is really beautiful today and the groundhog predicted an early spring." Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, girls!" "Good night!"
