A Cursed Butcher in Gensokyo (Semi-SI/OC) Jujutsu Kaisen/Touhou Project Crossover

The girl Reimu explained so much to me in minutes. She told me about Gensokyo, the yokai that wander around. The human village in the center of Gensekyo. How she is the protector of the barrier of Gensokyo and shows she solves significant issues dealing with yokai and humans. She calls those 'Incidents' and deals with them using spell cards and Danmaku.

At that point, the Oni with us left to go outside because it was getting boring.

"That's the sum it without going into much detail. If you have any more questions, I recommend going to the human village to get a book called The Gensokyo Chronicle. It has a more descriptive overview of everything in Gensokyo. It would be vital to you if you plan on staying in Gensokyo," Reimu explained, sipping her tea. "By the way, are you okay? You've been quiet throughout my whole explanation."

"Yes… just viewing my options."

The girl looked at me with concern. I know it's a lot to take in. From thinking I was in a domain to finding out, I live in a separate dimension where yokai and cursed spirits lurk. This would be alarming where I came from. But I don't care and don't work with the academy anymore. Not since the incident… shaking my head to not dwell on that dark moment.

Then, a thought came up in my head. "Hey, what's up with that woman that uses portals?"

"Oh, you must mean the gap hag Yukari. Yeah, she dropped you off here. Do you know her?" she asked.

I shook my head. "No, I don't know her. But from when I meet her, she's dangerous." Reimu had a curious face. "I could feel the power radiating off from her."

"Huh. You're the first outsider to see her like that. Then again, the outsiders that show up here are not the best in survival. They ignore warnings, act arrogant, and are killed by yokai, or they're too hysterical to communicate appropriately. To be honest, you've been taking this well. Almost too well," she muttered at the end.

"I've adjusted to worst before," I sighed. I looked to where my weapon was before looking at the young girl before me." I think my next best option is to go to the human village. Then, play whatever else by ear. But can you tell me anything else about Yukari?"

"Sounds good to me. As for Yukari, she can make Gaps and portals. She's known as the Boundary Yokai. She is also a sage of Gensokyo; she's been here way longer than I have. That's really about it. You have to ask her yourself if you have more sorry to say. However, it might be hard since she sleeps most of the time. And somehow, if you found her, she'll probably give you half-truths at best."

Reimu took a long sip of her tea, finishing it in one gulp. "Ahh. that was good. Since you don't have any more questions for me. Can I ask a question about you?" I nodded.

"Why do you carry a weapon like that around," she looked at the sealed cursed cleaver on the wall. "Its aura is awful."

I see she wants to know about my weapon. The feeling of being watched once again crept along my back. It seems that someone else is interested in my weapon as well. Might as well entertain my unknowing guest.

"Yeah, it's a weapon I use to exorcise cursed spirits. I'm what you'll call a sorcerer who can see spirits. Depending on who are and other factors, theirs two choices. You work for the academy, or you're a mercenary for hire. Most humans have lost the ability to sense or see cursed spirits. That's where people like me come in and exorcise them by using cursed energy," I explained.

"I didn't know they were still people like that in the outside world," Reimu said aloud. "It looks like the world on the outside has lingering supernatural activity."

The unknowing guest seemed to vanish since I felt the presence of being watched disappear. Giving me a moment to breath once again.

After a few more discussions, we eventually decided that it was best I slept over since Yokai became more active at night. I ended up sleeping in the room as the day was coming to an end.

When this strange man appeared from Yukari's gaps in front of the shrine. I thought this was some outsider that the gap hag had dropped here for no reason. However, as I kept talking to him, I realized he wasn't the usual sort. His behavior wasn't like any outsider I've spoken to before. He was polite, quiet, observant, and above all, perspective.

He gave me some information about the 'Sorcerers' from the outside world. I was surprised to discover that people still had abilities like that and saddened by the fact that spirits and possibly yokai would be invisible to ordinary people.

I kept pondering about the man in the shrine when the freeloader came in drunk and smelling of alcohol. The Oni fell on the floor with a happy, intoxicated smell.

"So what do you think of the human Reimu?" she asked, clearly drunk off her mind.

"He's okay, I guess. Clearly didn't have the look of an outsider, though. He took everything in stride, not shaken up by the fact he wasn't home anymore."

The Oni hummed. "He looked like a walking contradiction. He looked innocent though I could smell the blood of both Yokai and humans on him. Be careful is all I'm saying," The demon said seriously. One of the few times she was serious about anything. "Well I'm sure Yukari had a reason why she sent him here," the Oni was back to her drunken behavior.

The shrine maiden sighed before turning in for the day. Her last thoughts were on the strange man who appeared out of nowhere.
