The day he went Faith
Summary: Split dimension appeared when one for children and one for adults appeared. It's up to Doctor Faith to mend both worlds and stop the foe Witch Boy all so Nightwing could get his son back.
Note: After Nightwing son volumes and before Nara and before to find a hero
Chapter 1 In which he has the time mask
Nightwing the son of Batman and the father of Zuko had two masked in his collection. One was an old shape knight helmet meanwhile the other one was face cover masked that looked as if it was made from an old paper plastic plate held together by tape and powerful magic. Either way, he has two of them and either way there's his and either way there apart of his gear because Zee said that the Time Mask held his wife spirit in it and the Faith helmet was just a Power house and a must need to have.
A must need. Why?
He didn't know, but he ain't letting Albert clean it so off he went dressed as Nightwing with two powerful masked a concerned father and an embarrassed younger brother who thought being adopted was better then being related to them at the moment and Nightwing glared because that was just rude and heart breaking. What was wrong with carrying two over power, cursed items with you everywhere?
What? He didn't see the problem.
Probably because Nightwing normally didn't see the issue to begin with like dating his own sister. Then again who else was he was going to date. Nightwing would protested and Jason would defend.
So, yes Nightwing skipped and skipped not realised the power the Time mask was holding as it seemed to turn buildings into grey and slowly crumbling with time. Good thing the process was so slow that it allowed Red Hood and Batman to gather everyone out of there as fast as possible in a matter of seconds, panting for breath only to be told from a Nightwing to hurry it up because they've got worked to do. Despite the fact Nightwing missed out on the work to do, the two glared.
And, the mask kept doing this as if it was bringing bad luck wherever it went and wherever it had gone to with Nightwing being oblivious to the chaos it was causing.
"I don't remember sis like that when she was alive," said Jason.
"She used to cause more trouble than you thought with her powers this was one of the examples."
"Can Zuko do it?"
"I don't know, possible chance he might and well," said Batman.
And, this is why and this is how they soon found themselves caught in a mob related incident. It was a fairly peaceful protested, no pitch folks or torches just worried concerned.
"When are we going to do something about that mask?"said one bystander.
"Soon," said Batman.
"And, when is soon?"said another bystander.
For sometimes the strange mask would grow pink lotus flowers instead of tearing down buildings out of the blue and only when Nightwing was happy.
"Ahh, soon, but not tomorrow," said Batman and people groaned.
"Great, that might be next year!"yelled a male as the cowed walked off.
And, this was only the start of the strange power known as the Time Mask.
Chapter 2 in which Zuko tries to focus on homework, the mask talk
Zuko tries to focus on homework the key word tries because he swears those two mask has a nice fine handle, Danny conversation between each other. One trying to curse everything in her power because she was killed and murder. Becoming a very restless spirit at that and that said mask was said to hold his mother spirit. Meanwhile the other was all about balance this and balance that and balance this and Zuko was lost because Zuko didn't understand what balance meant. Other then the fact that homework was important and there for needed and there for if he didn't finished his homework he was grounded or worst suspend from school. So, he tries his best to ignore the fact that there are two talking mask behind him and focus on his homework instead.
"And, that is why I want to curse everything," said Time Clock sounding a bit loopy.
"I don't think that's a wise choice," said Faith sounding as if he was an old man.
"Well if you were killed and taken away from your family. You would want to do the same thing."
"I've never had one," said Faith.
"No, wonder you were lost and wonder up as a head with a no name attached to you and a someone finding himself babysitting you," said the Time Mask.
"You expected me to believe that I should've stayed around for a family instead of searching for power and for balance?"wondered Faith.
"Yes," said Time Clock. "Why, if you weren't just a head you'd be able to put on this mask go back in time and save your own life and find yourself a nice lovely wife."
"And, yet you still ended up dead with no title to your name," said Faith with a frown well an inner frown.
"At least I have a legacy, unlike you. I on the other hand is remember you on the other hand nobody has never heard of you whatsoever much less somebodies like my own brother. He just keeps you around because you're shiny and pretty," she said. "And, slightly cursed and he wants to break the curse because he isn't thinking clearly, then again he's never thought clearly. Maybe his character development well come up as thinking clearly. One to dream and wish. One can dream."
"You sound insane," said Faith.
"You sound dull," said Time Clock. The two mask went back to staring at one another. Zuko eye twitched in annoyance before going back to his homework.
"I'm just going to burrow this," said Nightwing as he took the helmet of Faith from the kitchen room.
"What about me?"wonder Time Clock.
"And, this," he said. "Ask Albert for help."
"I hate homework," muttered Zuko almost breaking his pencils in the process.
Chapter 3 In which Witch Boy is mentioned
Witch boy had the perfect planed up his sleeve as far as he was concerned the perfect planned indeed. All he needed now was scene of powerful wizards preferable seven would do and then his planned would be completed. So, instead he hunts down the perfected wizards and to his shock and to surprised he finds them, but they weren't just about anybody.
It had to be the Court of Owls, it just had to be the Court of Owls not at all what he expected when it came to powerful seven wizards. Instead seeing half owl and half man hooting up in a tree going hoot, hoot here and there and wondering what to do on this fine afternoon.
So, instead he walked up to them and smiled and offer his hand in friendship, but was blown away by a gust of wind.
"Ah-huh, the powerful wizards I am looking for," said Witch Boy.
"A powerful what?"said the Court of Owl. "I'm no wizard you foolish boy. I just have um, wind powers that can move the most daring opponent."
"And, what is that?"asked Witch Boy.
"A leaf."
Witch Boy stared blankly as the Court of Owl member pointed at the leaf in front of him.
"Be hold this leaf shall move," said the Court of Owl. "Move."
What was he expecting a powerful gust of wind because nothing happened, Witch Boy knows because he watched the whole scene unfold. He was dumbfounded, truly dumbfounded. This was the most powerful wizard he could find.
"Wow, wonderful displayed," he mocked clapping his hands slowly unsure on what else to do. Before he decided to frown. "Moving on. I want a wizard with great power and unexpected rage of power and preferable one who can wield golden light and not. Well, wind."
"Ah, then I'm afraid you're looking at the wrong person," said the Court of Owl. "I only know how to control wind."
"Wind? Just wind?"said Witch Boy stunned at the news. "I'm looking for power, golden light anything really. Anything at all, probably similar to the Great Merlin from another dimension or the Great Doctor Strange from another universe. Not, blowing a leaf with a leaf blower. Now, moving on Court of Owls you shall be my guards in this plan, but for now I need your aid in finding the most powerful wizards," he paused for dramatic effected. "Of this globe."
Witch Boy evil laughter was heard three dimension down to the point even Hawkeye heard the mad chuckled that sent shivers up his spine.
Chapter 4 in which split dimension occurred
It started when an alarm went off in the distance off the lair that the team knew something was wrong. It was Speedy that alerts that team dressed in red and yellow with his bow and arrow ready the archer runs up towards his fellow teenagers.
"There's a problem," Speedy said.
"I can tell," said Kid Flash with a seriously tone.
Then holograms started popping up all over the lair most of them displaying children of their age panicking and screaming.
"Kid Flash help, our parents have gone missing," said one of the children.
The others exchanged looked and nodded their heads and darted off to their space ship.
"What about Zuko?"asked Miss. Martin.
"Speedy and Red Hood go and fetch him bring him to the front we might need him in battle," said Kid Flash. "And, someone see if Nightwing is around we could use his help."
"Nightwing an adult," said Red Arrow. "Not a good sign. If the adults are gone then that means he's gone with them."
"Then what about that Conner kid?"asked Kid Flash.
"Wrong dimension that's Stark area," said Red Arrow.
"Alright, then we well just have to sort this out ourselves. I'll zoom around and do routine check while Zantanna you track for the main source of the problem," said Kid Flash. She nodded her head and stood in the centre of the lair chanting away.
"As for the rest keep me posted and try and get into other contact with heroes our own age who can help out," said Kid Flash as he zoomed off out of the lair.
"This is Lady Bug do you contact Young Justice we've got a problem split dimension happened and now the adults are in one world while the young are in this world. According to my log book," she said as she typed away on her phone before looking at the hologram screen.
"Great we do have a split dimension."
"A split dimension?"wondered a Lady Bug "Whatever do you mean?"
"New theory," said Red Hood. "It puts you in another dimension and you be away from someone you care about sort of creating a parallel universe."
"So, spot the differences and something missing?"Lady Bug asked.
"Basically it," said Red Hood.
"Found him. It's Witch Boy and we might need Zuko help," said Zantanna.
Chapter 5 in which Billy has a problem
Billy has a problem he woke up one day in the orphanages and found himself mostly alone despite the other children crying to themselves wondering where their nannies had gone to. So, Billy wondered off to see the madness outside where it was just children and no adults. That didn't add up. He might've been an orphanage, but that didn't stop him from knowing the fact that he wasn't the only one without parents. There for the others had parents and so he transformed.
"Kazan," he said.
He was suddenly taller and in an adult body with a golden flowing cap and a red suit with a yellow lighting mark on his chest. He flew up into the sky and through the clouds then flew back down only to pause once he hovered over the streets it was a place of adults wondering where their children had gone to. Wondering where their families had left and so Billy who was now Captain Marvel flew off to find the other members of the Justice League who was already tracking the infamous Witch Boy.
"Batman is the mess sort-out over here?"wonder Caption Marvel.
"Mess, what mess? You mean the fact our kids are missing? Yes, that mess hasn't been fixed Zee working on the situation. Why have you seen them? Any of them? Dick, Jason, Zantanna, Wally, Roy, Speedy?"
"No, sign of them? Guys there's no sign of you," said Caption Marvel. There was a pause.
"What do you mean?"asked Batman.
"There's no adults in one world and there's no children in the other. It's split dimension."
"You mean to tell me were in our own parallel universe?"asked Green Lantern.
"Basically it, we've formed into our own world leaving the kids behind."
"Zee, how do we get to them?"asked Batman.
"And, my son?"wondered Nightwing.
"I don't know, but I think he's with the team. That's just a hunch."
"How did you get here?" Batman asked.
"I went Kazan," said Captain Marvel.
He found himself being Billy an orphanage kid only in the lair of mount Justice. Young Justice turned to frown even Zuko glared.
"Who are you?"asked Zuko.
"Oh, bother. I'm Billy. Just Billy and I'm from Well Weather orphanages."
"How did you get passed the tech?"wonder Kid Flash.
"I just can. Look I'm here to tell you the adults are alive and well, but they're in another parallel world."
"Parallel? Crap. Can you pass the message?"said Kid Flash.
"I can try, but no promises that I might end up in this world though," said Billy.
"There's something then," Zuko said. "Tell the team we've found the cause of this."
Chapter 6 in which owls go hoot and leaves rustle and shake to the left
The Court of Owls go hoot the leaves rustle slightly to the left and shake all about by the time Nightwing came rushing in on his moto bike and frowning at the group. The Court of Owls were playing with their wind magic when they hooted about and managed to move a leaf slightly to the left without a problem. Wonderful news, they hooted to themselves with great trumpeter. They've managed to move a leaf, a leaf. Wonderful news indeed and they cheered came to a pause because Nightwing was near by and heaven forbid NIghtwing was nearby because Nightwing could bash them up any time and send them packing to jail. Packing to jail, they say, packing to jail.
They very much liked their freedom and because of that the Court of Owls stood guard around the golden circled that formed in the middle of them, last casted by Witch Boy and his seven wizards.
"You've stolen my wife. You've stolen my son before and now you dare steal my son again," said Nightwing.
This is true and this is that, thought the Court of Owls, this is true indeed they did steal Zuko and tried to raise him from a far as if he was there own and lived in the east. And, all well's end well and never run into the scary superhero known as Nightwing. Of course though the Court of Owls were dumb, dumb which meant they learnt the hard way and sometimes the hard way was seriously getting bashed up by the brave and slightly scary and slightly intimidated Nightwing as their foe. So, naturally they did what they normally did when face to face with Nightwing run around like headless chooks and hope for the best before the wise one who had slightly bigger brain cell then the less decided to muster his fear and turn it into bravely.
"We are here on a mission on behalf of Witch Boy," said the Court of Owl.
For Witch boy was an immortal teenage with the power of magic running through his body causing up all sorts of troubles and chaos, but taking Nightwing son was a little bit too far for Nightwing liking. So, Nightwing decided to go Time Clock instead of Doctor Faith.
"Let's see what happens if I pause time," said Time Mask. He snapped his fingers and saw his son, but he was fade almost as if his son was a ghost.
The other Court of Owls did not like what they were seeing whatsoever because seeing ghost was normally a bad sign for them. A bad sign indeed.
Zuko walked backwards catching up to the team who was also walking backwards. Time Clock tried to reach to their son, but couldn't. Time Clock didn't like this and behind his mask he frowned and frowned at the news. Unable to reach his child, he glared at the Court of Owls.
The Court of Owls went hoot again as Nightwing turned to glare because Time Clock was unable to reach their son. Just in time too when the others zoom on in, but not to aid the Court of Owls nooo, but to bash them up. This was a bad mistake.
Chapter 7 in which Faith shall restore it
Nightwing doesn't go Doctor Faith very often. In fact, it's a rare event when he does mainly because he fears that ghost that lingers in there. However, if magic broke the worlds then magic might be able to fix the worlds. So, this is what he does he takes of the helmet of Faith and holds it in his hands as the Justice League currently go head to head with the Court of Owl. And, as he held the helmet of Faith he felt a shiver go up his spine and knew something was behind him, an elderly man with white hair and dressed in a grey suit stood behind him.
"This is the second time you've worn the helmet of Faith. Are you ready?"
"Who are you?" Nightwing asked.
"I am Kent Nelson," said the ghost. "Now, are you ready to wear the helmet of Faith and for the greater good?"
He stared at the helmet, but then he thought of his son before nodding his head and placing the helmet on his head Nightwing became Doctor Faith. Dressed in gold from his suit to his helmet and to his cape the only thing blue was his long sleeve shirt and trousers. Doctor Faith was ready for action. No, longer in control of his own movement Doctor Faith took control he casted golden light forming into a cross that light then oozed around the Court of Owls bodies trapping them in golden light. He glazed along the circle of crystals, lighting was seen from the distance and out came Caption Marvel flying towards them.
"Guys, there's crystals holding the dimension apart," said Caption Marvel.
"Faith?"wondered Batman.
"Give me the centre piece," said Faith as he hovered to the circle. Pulling out the red crystal that was split in half. "Once I have that then balance shall be restored."
"Sounds like an idea, Kazan," said Caption Marvel as he disappeared once again.
"Is he teleporting?"wonder Wonder Woman.
"I wouldn't think so," said Batman.
"Then how is doing that?"asked Wonder Woman.
"No, clue," said Batman. "But he is."
"He is a chosen one of Zeus," said Faith. "Not his son nor heir. Just a chosen one that power is similar to that of Zeus."
"And, how would you know Faith?"sneered Wonder Woman.
"I am all expect of things that are magical."
"Like taking my son and expecting him to be you for an era? He has a life," said Wonder Woman.
"Your son had made a choice and because of that his action was his own not off mine," said Faith.
"He's still my son," scowled Wonder Woman. "Balance won't be restored until I get my son!"
"Kazan!"yelled Caption Marvel he appeared as an adult, but there was something off about it to the group. Something strange. "Doc, catch!"
The half crystal was thrown at Doctor Faith and golden magic healed the object it was placed into the centre and two worlds become one.
Chapter 8 In which Nightwing returns
It was very rare that the person who went Doctor Faith ever returned back to the real world, this is what most magician had agree on that this was spirit away. Where they were binded and held capture in the helmet for who knows how long. Which is why when the kids returned into the world some of them were very ticked off that Nightwing was Doctor Faith especially his own son.
"Where is my father?"demanded Zuko as he walked right up to Doctor Faith.
"Your father has made his choice in becoming my successors."
"Sense when?"demanded Zuko puffing out fire from his nose.
"That's enough the both of you, but my grandson is right. Where is my son Neblu? Balance has been restored and I demand him back."
"Or, else what?"wondered Faith.
"I shall call the Gods."
"You dare call the King's of the sky for such a small debate over one person life?"
"He is still my son."
"And, in the eyes of the King's above. He is merely one person out of many."
"Who is the pride of the Amazons," said Wonder Woman.
"Should've put your pride elsewhere," said Faith as the of them glared at each other.
"Then allow me to where the helmet Faith," said Batman. "I am older and much stronger than the boy. My strength and wisdom could come of your services."
"Be that as it may you are not the one to hold your promises. So, why should I trust you?"wondered Faith.
Batman frowned behind his black mask and grunted.
"You can't do this he has his own damn life," Red Hood said. "Now, give me back my damn brother Faith or I'll smash that bloody helmet of yours."
"Well done Red Hood you just gave a threat," mocked Faith.
"Then can we say goodbye?"asked Zuko.
"Is this tricky?"wondered Faith.
"No, tricky," said Zuko.
"Make an oath," demanded Faith.
There was a moment of silence before screaming was heard the superheroes looked around, but found no source of screaming red and golden light appeared around the helmet. Zipping and zagging Wonder Woman back away her eyes widen in shock she's seen this in female who had possessed magical items in the past, but very rarely for many of them were often quickly consumed by the source of power they held. Nightwing though proved, and proved every time that he was still an Amazon male or not as he was breaking free of the helmet itself.
"You fool. You dare run away from me now. When you know our Faith shall be in twined with each other throughout the era?" Faith rumbled as lighting was heard cracking above them.
A light misty picture of Nightwing head appeared above them him with narrowed eyebrows glaring at the helmet of Faith.
"Leave my family alone," he sneered. Blue lighting mixed with red and gold crashed with each other.
"Power of Zeus," said Wonder Woman and Caption Marvel at once.
Faith screamed and the helmet popped off the adult head and down came Nightwing the helmet rolling off the ground. Caption Marvel picked up the helmet and turned worrying to Nightwing as his two parents rushed to his side.
"My son," Wonder Woman said as she bent down to comb through her child hair and Zuko followed dropping on his knees in hopes his father was alive.
"Is he?"asked Kid Flash wondering the worst.
And, then to their amazement Nightwing head lifted off the ground and he grinned. Nightwing was very much alive.
