Chapter I

now playing – beware.

It was dark, she knew that much, she could tell even with her eyes closed. She was surrounded by silence, at least she thought she was, at first, the longer she laid on the ground the more she heard distant sounds as if they were right next to her; a running stream of water, splashing down against the rocks below, the low thump of a deer springing its way through the forest.

She sat up quickly, almost too quickly with the way her eyes seemed to blur as soon as she opened them, and her head felt as if she'd spun in fifty circles. She grunted lowly as her eyes finally focused and she realized she was sitting on the forest floor surrounded by large trees.

"You are quite the beauty, even in vampire terms." Her head whipped around hearing the thickly accented voice from behind her, she whipped her head around as she sprung to her feet hissing at the woman standing in the shadows of the large trees. "Brave too it seems." She watched with narrowed eyes as the woman walked towards her so smoothly, she was almost gliding across the grass.

Long slender fingers held her chin as the woman ran her free hand through her brown her with a teasing smile as she hissed once more. "Quiet now little one, I am just getting a good look at you." Despite her best efforts she found herself quieting down exactly as the woman had told her to.

"What is your name then, where are you from? You must speak to me, or do you only hiss?" The woman said her teasing smile growing wider at the darkening eyes of the newborn in front of her.

"Would you prefer I start? I am Sasha, from Slovakia." Tilting her head as she licked her lips her nose scrunching in thought as she stared at the woman before her.

"I don't know who I am." She said letting her words come out in a whisper, fearing if her voice was any louder it would be seen as disrespectful.

"Truly? If you are hiding something from me, you must rid yourself of those habits immediately, you are my own now, and I will not have you lying to my face." She shook her head as quickly as she could with the woman's hand still holding her chin firmly.

"Stay here young one, do not move an inch, I will rectify this," The woman was gone before another word could even be thought of, standing awkwardly in the same place she'd woken up she glanced around the clearing feeling an odd sense of dread, this clearing was dark, not in terms of lighting, no, she could feel the sinister aura coming off of it in waves, so much unlike the woman who she had been speaking to, who had presumably clouded her mind so much she couldn't even acknowledge her fear of the unusual clearing.

"Isabella Swan." Raising an eyebrow at the feeling in her chest when hearing the name, she glanced at Sasha with a confused look on her face watching as the woman moved her hair behind her ear with a chuckle.

"It's been so long since I've dealt with such a young vampire, so confused and curious, it's your name dear, you are, or were nineteen-year-old Isabella Marie Swan." Sasha reached down into her pocket placing a card in Isabella's hand watching as red eyes scrutinized it suspiciously before turning it over and seeing the exact name Sasha had said.

"Is this what I look like?" She asked softly looking up at the woman her red eyes almost reminding Sasha of a puppy begging for a treat.

"Not exactly, you've taken a paler tone, your lips are fuller, your hair is thicker, deeper in color, and I can tell you myself as someone who is 5'9 you're much larger now than you were in that picture." Sasha was staring at the newborn with mirth in her eyes, it had truly been years since she had met a vampire who could use her help, and here she had stumbled upon a recently reborn vampire trying to follow the alluring scent of fresh blood.

"How did you find this?" Shrugging with a lazy smile the older woman looked down at her nails, before she looked back up at the young vampire in front of her searching her eyes.

"I followed traces of your scent, I found a school, which could have helped but it would have taken much too long, a house, but it was empty, we could possibly use it soon while I rid you of your docile nature, but then I came upon a house deeper in the town, it was covered in your scent, when I peeked through the windows I saw pictures of you hung along the walls, and I knew it must have been your home." Isabella looked over the ID flipping it back and forth as she listened to the woman speak.

"It seems you've been missing for weeks; it was on the news when I climbed through your window, you came out here, 2 weeks ago and you never made it home, but enough of the past, we will search for more another time, come along my dear, we can't stay here all night." Taking her hand Sasha pulled Isabella along behind her, taking her back to the house she had passed while in search of Isabella's identity.

Isabella followed closely before, her face scrunched completely in disgust, she scowled up at the house that was almost completely windows, confused by her own animosity towards the house, she looked to Sasha hoping she'd have a reasonable explanation.

"It seems your time here before wasn't something you'd want to remember even if you could, but none of that dear one, all is well, the house is empty, and I must keep you safe from prying eyes, until I know you are capable of protecting yourself if I am ever away from you." Isabella looked at Sasha quickly, clearly displeased at her statement to which Sasha raised her hands in a mock surrender.

"I have..before you, been snatched away from my children, forced to live without them, I have no idea where they are, if they managed to survive as I did, nor do I know if they even know I'm alive, I didn't get long to train them, to raise them, to be..their mother, and I don't wish to have the same happen to us." Isabella nodded in understanding, as much as she didn't know, a part of her trusted Sasha.

"Before, you said I was beautiful, even for a uh, a vampire, is that what I am, what we are?" Sasha nodded, pulling Isabella down on the couch next to her, pulling the newborn so close she was practically in her lap.

"Your first lesson dear girl, when you speak, even if you are confused, asking, begging even, you speak directly, you do not stammer, or stutter, or say uh, you are a strong woman, a strong vampire, which is made obvious by the fact you haven't even twitched at the smell of your own blood covering you, you have no need to be shy beautiful girl." The older vampire spoke, bringing Isabella's head forward so their eyes met.

"Okay, I understand Sasha." Sasha tsked shaking her head pulling back to get a full look at Isabella.

"You will call me mama, or mother if you prefer formality, but you must avoid calling me by name, as you are my little one, and if you ever get the chance to meet your sister's I would hate for them to think they could call me by name."

"It won't happen again mama." Smiling broadly, the older vampire brought Isabella into a tight embrace rubbing her back slowly.

"Now dear I have much more to teach you, you will learn to hunt, to fight, to be confident, to be regal as much as you are sadistic in your justice, for when we find who harmed you, they will know of you, dear girl, and they will fear the threat you will become."

"I won't fail you mama."

"Oh, sweet girl, failure isn't an option."

I know it's been a bit; life took me by storm, graduating and starting the process of joining the military, but I'm back with a Bella x Rose story that has a twist to it (I hope that much is obvious), this is just a nicely sized opener to see if the story is interesting to anyone at all, small spoiler here, Isabella will feed from human's the entire story, also for those of you who have read sign in time, I've lost muse for it completely, so it won't be continued, nor will I be taking it down, but I do have a reimagined version that will still have the time travel and Jane x Bella, that I will start working on if you guys would like it, leave pairing ideas in the reviews for future possible fics.

As always follow/favorite/review because it makes me all tingly.
