On a dark lake, the reflection of the crescent moon in the sky , also in the dark lake, a long fist were drifting across the water, a flick of bats were flying over the boat.

In the boat laid a coffin, then the coffin slowly opened up and someone stood up, it was a woman with red lipstick, she then smirked evolutionary as she looked ahead

When Judai woke up the first thing he noticed was that he was in a bed and not dueling in a volcano. His body and head hurt, but other than that he was fairly certain he was alright . Light beeping sounds could be heard. He slowly opened his eyes and squinted at the onslaught of light from above him. Blinking his eyes a couple of times, his vision began to clear and he looked around. He could see the outline of an oxygen mask attached to his face. The next thing he noticed was Sho sitting next to him.

"Aniki! Are you okay?". Judai removed his oxygen mask and gritted his teeth in pain, "I had weird nightmare about a vampire", Sho looked at him confused, "A Vampire?",

Before Judai could answer he heard a chuckle next to him, "Well you must be feeling better now Judai-kun especially after having a dream about vampire". Judai looked up and saw the head nurse Emi Ayukawa coming towards him, he then asked, "Ayukawa-sensei, how is Fujiwara! Kaiser's best friend?"

Ayukawa looked towards another bed with a sad look on her face, Judai followed her look and saw Ryo sat next to it as Yusuke laid unconscious with oxygen mask, a drip of IV fluid hooked on his left wrist and also hooked up to the same machine as Judai. "I am afraid he's in a condition a bit worse than you and haven't woken up yet, but still he's in a stable condition".

Judai smiled in relief, "I am glad he's alright now, all we have to do is wait for him to recover, he and Kaiser has a lot of catching up to do, and to be honest so does he and me".

Ryo then turned around and looked at Judai and gave him a smile of gratitude, "Thanks for getting him back Judai".

Judai have him a small smirk. " Welcome Kaiser...".

But then he groaned in pain again, Ryo stood up worried, while Sho turned his gaze back to Judai with a worried expression on his face, Ayukawa came over to him quickly and gently helped him lie down again.

"He's not the only one who needs time to recover, you both have been unconscious for almost 2 days. I heard what happened and that duel took a toll on your body as well, you need to stay here for at least few days". Ayukawa adviced him with a sad smile as Judai looked at her

Even though Sho and Ryo calmed down a bit, Judai was far from calm, he knew that dream isn't good and had a feeling another Shadow Rider could show up

At the same time at the lake, the woman who appeared in Judai's dream held out a hand to the night sky, "Go my minons" as she said that the vast started to fly off. "Find me my prey, so that we can succeed where Nightshroud has failed", she smirked.

By the next day rumors bargain to spread like wildfire across the dorms and school.

"Hey did you see a vampire?" A Ra student asked another, "

Vampire?" The second student ask

"Dude I saw her with my own eyes, or at least my roommate did, she's for these gigantic fangs". The first one respond

"What are you saying?" The second one looked at him shocked.

During lunch break the Obelisk girls were discussing the same thing.

"I am not kidding I saw a vampire". A girl who had a sandwich in her hand said to her friend

"She better stay away from my boyfirend". Her friend replied

In the infirmary Ryo sat in the chair next to Yusuke's bed and noticed the seaweed haired duelist twitched slightly and his breathing became labored. Putting down his workbook, he reached over and touched Yusuke's forehead and felt the sweat running down.

He looked for the nurse only to see she had left for a minute… figures. Ryo looked back to his friend and noticed the twitching stopped and he was once again lying still and his breathing was not labored. Sighing, Ryo picked up his homework again and kept working. This and the next were his free periods.

Everyone else had been sent to class and he was left to watch over the two sleeping duelists. Judai had not said anything since his outburst the night before and Yusuke just plain had not even woken up yet. This was starting to make the Obelisk wonder what needed to be done to wake him up.

The door to the infirmary slid open and Ryo raised his head. It was Sho hurriedly running towards him in tensse.

"Ni-san, Samejima wants to speak with all of us right now. Apparently there has been a sighting of a possible Shadow Rider," he spoke quickly.

Ryo shot out of his seat and looked over his shoulder to Yusuke.

Both Marufuji siblings ran out of the infirmary. They made their way quickly to Samejima's office, ignoring the stares of other students. Other students had tried to figure out what the group of eight were doing, and why they were all friends. Some just could not fathom how the top male duelists would be friends with Slifers. The brothers ignored them, believing it was a waste of time and breath.

They reached the office and let themselves in. Asuka, Chazz, Misawa, Banner and Samejima were already standing there. The siblings walked in and stood next to Asuka. All then turned their attention to the leader. Samejima cleared his throat and looked at each of them.

"I have heard some disturbing rumors around the campus. It seems as though there might be a vampire on campus," he stated matter of factly.

Chazz jerked back as if he was electrocuted. "VAMPIRE?!"

"I also firmly believe the rumors may not be rumors at all," he continued as if one of them didn't just have an outburst.

"Puh-leaze, this has to be a practical joke," Chronos scoffed with a flip of his wrist.

Ryo stepped back to avoid it hitting his face, since Sho was so much shorter, he didn't have to worry. He looked Samejima in the eyes and narrowed his. Something didn't sit right, he just couldn't put his finger on it.

"A 'joke'? It wasn't a joke that put Judai in the hospital. Nor was it a joke that has Fujiwara in a coma after losing the duel," Misawa argued.

Ryo looked at the others and Samejima. "Do you think she is a Shadow Rider?"

"Perhaps. Now all you, prepare for war to begin. And be careful, we can't afford to lose a key." Looking all them dead in the eyes, he nodded when he saw their resolve. "Dismissed."

All of them made their way to their respective dorms, except Ryo, Asuka and Sho, They made their way to the infirmary. Walking through the door, they saw things were exactly the same. Judai was still asleep, but he looked to not be in as much pain as before. Yusuke seemed to be breathing a little easier, it appeared the oxygen was doing some good.

"Well, let's sit in here and go through our decks. Like Samejima said, we can't afford to lose any keys," Asuka recommended. The other two looked at her and nodded their heads.

Pulling chairs around the small table in the room, they all began to flip through their cards and strategize. They used the table to set cards down and look at what they had, if they wanted to make any changes and add anything. However, none of them noticed the bat hanging upside down looking at them with glowing red eyes.

Chazz was sitting in the floor in his Slifer Red dorm, his old Obelisk Blue coat was hanging on the wall in plastic, he was currently looking through is deck trying to be prepared, after all if this Vampire was a shadow Duelist she could challenge one of them to a duel, "I would like to see the vampire girl trying to get a drop on The Chazz". He didn't notice up the ceiling a bat hung upside down was currently spying on him as he looked through his deck.

Misawa was at his dorm looking through his deck and he also didn't notice a bat glowing red eyes was spying on him.

Chronos had a irritated look on his face, "A Vampire? What's next the boogeyman?". He then sat down at his desk and looked through his deck as he laughed sarcastically "Who would ever believe in those nonsense na no nae?" He also didn't notice a bat was spying on him.

Banner was in his room waving around with a large flag, while strands of garlic was hanging from the ceiling. He also didn't notice a bat watching him sweatdrop

At the same time at the infirmary

Asuka and Ryo came to Sho who was still sitting next to unconscious Judai.

"How is Judai?" The Obelisk Queen asked sadly

"He still hasn't woken up or said anything since his outburst last night". Sho said as he got a depressed look on his face and closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Oh I see", Asuka muttered sadly

Sho looked at Ryo, 'Ni-san how is Fujiwara-san?". Ryo shook his head before he gave a small smile on his face. "Pretty much the same, but I am glad he came back alive safe and sound."

The vampire woman was bathing in a big bathtub, and then noticed that one of her bats was flying coming towards her; she lifeted her hand and held out her index finger and the bat landed on it.

"My precious, what did you bring me?" The bats eyes glow red, then the vampire woman's eyes glowed as well and she got images of the keykeeper's and their deck through her mind eye. "Ah, so this is our opposition, hmm now then who shall it be?".

Then suddenly she stopped at the image of Ryo, as she gasped in delight, "You will be mine". She chuckled, she was looking forward to dueling this handsome young man for both his key and his soul

Night fall came around and they all met at Samejima's office once again to report. They all had their duel disks attached and their decks raring to go. Ryo had asked Sho and Asuka to stay behind and watch over Judai and Yusuke. He knew his brother wanted to be involved, but Ryo wasn't willing to risk it now.

"Good news Chancellor, I searched around the campus. Not one vampire sighting," Chazz stated proudly.

"VAMPIRE!" Chummley's voice came from the door. Everyone turned around to see Chummley running in and huffing. "I saw her! She's down by the lake."

Chancellor stood up and Ryo, Chronos, Misawa and Chazz all took off running to the lake. This was not going to end well, they had a bad feeling. As they sprinted to the lake's edge, they noticed the fog had thickened tonight. It created something straight out of Banner's horror movie collection. A crimson red carpet rolled towards them.

"At least we get the red carpet treatment," Chronos muttered.

"Crimson red… how fitting here," Ryo narrowed his eyes as he snapped out.

Everyone drew themselves upright and Chronos started to sneak backwards. However, he didn't notice that Pharaoh had snuck out. So when the feline wound between his moving legs he yelped and jumped forward through the line of students.

He landed standing scared stiff and facing the lake. Everyone looked shocked at how he put himself first. For a quick moment, no one spoke, and the feline took off running toward the Slifer dorm.

"Oh wow, you are so brave Chronos-sensei!". Chumley exclaimed.

"We will be right behind you," Misawa said solemnly.

That comment seemed to terrify Chronos and he whipped back around to face his students. His face had a scared smile and sweat rolling down his made up face. Leaning forward he had his hands out and clasped together.

"Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we draw straws? Now where can we find some? Oh never you mind, I will go find some. Just don't anyone follow me," Chronos said with a nervous laugh.

"Forget it sensei YOU'RE up," Chazz spat out.

Chumley snuck away and took off back to the infirmary where the other two were waiting. The door slid open and he ran in. "Sho! Asuka!" Both looked up from their posts to him. "Chronos-sensei is going to duel against the vampire lady!"

Sho and Asuka stood up and looked at their friend. "Great, he will beat her easy right?"

"Wrong Sho. Chronos may talk a good game, but he plays a TERRIBLE one!" Asuka exclaimed. She leaned forward as if she would run out and stop it. Her long blonde hair fell in her face and she pushed it back.

That comment made Judai open his eyes slightly and look at the three standing around him. He was really worried for Chronos. Granted the guy was as egotistical ever since they came, but Judai didn't want anything to happen to him. Winged Kuriboh appeared and Judai looked at him with worry etched into his face.

Back at the lake, everyone still stood where they were ten minutes ago. Chronos front, shaking like a leaf. It was annoying to the three students. Ryo stood there with his arms crossed and was about to shove Chrono out of the way, just so they could get this Shadow Rider out of the way.

"So, Chronos-sensei, what's the hold up?" Chazz asked scathingly.

Whipping his head around he glared balefully at Chazz. "If you are in such a hurry, why don't you go first?!"

The wind picked up, causing them all to look toward the lake and see the fog clear a little. An old boat appeared at the other end of the carpet and a beautiful woman stood perfectly poised and seductive. A smile gracing her lips.

She stood tall, with long green hair that went down her back to her waist. Strands of bangs covered part of her face and blood red eyes that were staring at them as if they were prey. Her heels had tie wraps that went up her calves and her burgundy dress had a bat medallion resting in the center on her breasts.

"Gentlemen, why don't I just come to you?" Her voice had a Romanian accent and quite frankly sounded over done. Her heeled shoe stepped out and she strutted across the red carpet all the way to where they stood. When she came upon them, she looked at them and over Chronos with disdain. "And who might you be?"

"I am your challenger," Chronos stuttered out.

The vampire looked at Chronos through long lashes and then she looked more fully at Ryo on the far left. The teal boy is very attractive, and she wanted him so badly,

"You are not worthy to duel me," she stated dismissively.

The casual dismissal had Chronos nearly falling over. He sputtered at her in clear disbelief. "I-I beg your pardon?! I have a PhD in dueling! That takes nine years of duel school I will have you know," he tooted his own horn unashamedly.

"Fine, if you are that interested to lose your key and soul, then you may duel me: Camula, Vampire Mistress of the Shadows." She placed a hand on her chest and gave a little bow of the head. Countless bats swarmed around her as her eyes glowed bright red.

"Rubber bats and plastic teeth. Your tricks don't scare me young lady," Chronos muttered.

"Then maybe this will, if you lose I get your soul." She held up a small unadorned doll. "Well to be more precise this little doll does."

The other students stood stupefied. "You want to take his soul and the key?" Misawa questioned.

Chronos laughed it off and placed his hands on his hips. "What, is that it? You don't want something for your little werewolf to chew on?"

At that comment, she turned terrifying. She pulled her red lips back to reveal her long fangs and her eyes took on a demonic look. It was straight out of horror movies. "Be very careful what you wish for. It may just come true," she hissed at him. "Now then key keeper, let's duel!"

Back in the hospital room, the three awake students were watching the duel on their PPCs. Chronos appeared to be holding his own for the most part. He fell into a couple of tricks that were quite frankly amateurish. But overall, doing better than they thought.

When Chronos went to the ground, he was shaking and nearly whimpering. Asuka cringed and Sho wanted to cry out.

"No, if he loses then he not only loses the key but his soul as well," Asuka exclaimed.

Those words were more than Judai could bear to hear. He opened his eyes and looked at them huddled around Chumley's unit. They didn't even notice him awaken. He struggled to sit up and listen to what was going on.

"Listen dear, you don't have to duel like this. Just step down and I will duel that one in white," they could hear Camula say. Sho gasped and realized this vampire was after his brother.

"Hear that Kaiser, looks like you're her type," Chazz jabbed.

Ryo was stoically ignoring that, and trying not to cringe. Forget the fact that she is a Shadow Rider and possibly responsible for the pain Yusuke endured… she was not his type! A shudder ran up his spine and it took great strength to repress it.

"How about it? Give me your student and I will let you go free," Camula tried to bargain.

Ryo was about to step forward anyway. Chronos clearly did not know what he was doing and this was not going well. But the moment he put one foot forward to take Chronos place, the teacher staggered back to his feet.

"Stay back! This is my duel! I won't let you lay a single hand on him or any of my students." Chronos finally found his footing. "Do you understand, I am the leading professor at the most prestigious duel school in the world! If you want to get to MY pupils, you will have to get through me!" he yelled with more passion than his students had seen from him in a long time.

Ryo was frozen in place looking and listening to that speech. His wide teal eyes were riveted on his professor. Chazz stepped up next to him and had his hand outstretched in concern for Chronos

"But you can barely stand Chronos-sensei". Chazz's voice held real concern.

He turned his head their way and gave a smug grin. "Don't you worry about me. I still have cards in my deck and a few tricks up my sleeve," he gritted out.

With that the duel continued to rage on. The three students and key keepers couldn't do anything but watch. When it seemed Chronos would gain the upper hand, Camula pulled something out that would destroy those chances. Ryo gritted his teeth as he watched this. He just couldn't stand there anymore.

"Chronos-sensei, I just can't stand here and do nothing!" he yelled with his fists clenched. He watched his teacher fall once again when the Vampire Bat monster attacked his lifepoints directly.

Camula turned to Ryo with a smile. "Yes, I completely agree darling. Help your teacher, because clearly he can't help himself. I met someone just like you, so eager to protect and it led to his descent into the darkness. Oh how beautiful a sight you would both make together with me."

Her words made Ryo's blood run cold. His face went pale at the thought. For a moment the world tilted and wondered if he would be sick right here in front of everyone.

"Wrong!" a voice everyone here knew all too well yelled out. That managed to break Ryo from the circling thoughts.

Everyone turned their heads to see Chumley running up with Judai on his back and Asuka right behind them. Sho walked straight to his brother and placed his body slightly in front of his. He looked down at him and Sho met his eyes. He knew he heard what Camula had said and now was going into 'overprotective brother mode'.

"Judai?" everyone exclaimed at the same time.

"Chronos-sensei can win this duel! I know because I dueled him myself, and man can he throw down!" Judai exlaimed proudly.

Chronos opened his eyes slightly and saw Judai on Chumley's back… cheering for him after all the things he had done to get Judai kicked out. Oh the irony here was not missed on anyone in attendance. But the words seemed to have the desired effect, Chronos forced himself up and glared at the vampire in front of him.

"I am not giving up!"

Camula looked dismissively at her opponent. "Oh are you still here?"

"You had better believe it and here to stay too missy! Although it makes me slightly ill to admit it, Signore Judai is ABSOLUTELY right! I can beat you! I can throw down and I can get my game on!" He cringed. "Ugh, I suddenly feel the need to wash my mouth out."

Judai smiled. "Come on, it's not that bad sensei."

"Yes perhaps, but you know what is?" Misawa nterjected.

"His lifepoints. It's true, in order to pull this one out, Chronos-sensei will need to make quite the comeback here," Ryo said.

Chronos drew another card and smiled. Everyone went still, wondering what this meant. When the ground began to rumble and the Ancient Gear Golem appeared everyone knew why.

"Check it! Chronos-sensei's best monster!" Chazz yelled excitedly.

"But where's the sacrifice?" Chumley asked, confused.

"It's on the field," Asuka responded with a smile of her own. "The Ancient Gear Castle, that was a move right there."

"I also play Heavy Storm." A harsh wind whipped through the field and destroyed all the spell and trap cards out.

"You must be quite a bore for your students. I activate, Zombie Bed!"

"But I destroyed all the cards on the field!" Chronos yelled back.

Camula looked the pinnacle of Vampire for a moment. Her tongue was long and pointed, her teeth lengthened and her eyes glowed with glee. "I wanted you to do just that!" During Camula's turn, she removed his Ancient Gear beast from his graveyard and managed to summon Vampire Genesis. With her Vampire Bat still on the field, his attack points rose to 3200.

Everyone went deathly still. They knew there was no way out of this. Chronos had his head down and eyes closed. He knew defeat was imminent. Snapping his eyes open, he raised his head and whipped to face all his students.

"My students, no matter what happens to me… always remember this," Chronos stared. Everyone shook their heads, not wanting to hear this. It sounded too much like a goodbye speech and none were prepared. "It's true while I may have been hard on you at times, but it's because I believe in each and every one of you. Therefore should I fall, there is still hope. I know you all will rise and protect this world."

Ryo once again tried to step forward, irritated beyond belief. Asuka kept him back, by keeping her body in front of his. "Don't talk like that Sensei!" Ryo snapped out, eyes narrowed.

Judai sighed and looked down. "This isn't good."

Camula, taking joy in breaking up such a heartwarming moment said, "Have you finished your final lesson?"

Whipping his head back to face the vampire, he snarled at her. "Excuse me that is DR. Chronos to you!"

"I will make sure they put that on your tombstone!" she laughed and directed her monsters to attack him.

All of her monsters attacked and his lifepoints hit zero as he fell to the ground. His eyes were closing as the pain from all the monster attacks took their toll on his body.

"Chronos-sensei!" Judai yelled in worry.

Opening his eyes for a moment, Chronos met the brown eyes of the one person he never thought he would want to see. A slight smile graced his lips and his eyes started to close again. "Signore Judai, avenge me, my boy. I know you can do it."

"His key is mine now," Camula delighted in saying.

No one moved, no one dared to breathe as they looked at the fallen form of their teacher. Camula took the steps towards Chronos prone form and reached down to take the key from his pocket. Chazz gritted his teeth and took a step forward.

"Nuh uh! No way!" he denied.

Judai looked down sadly and then back at Chazz. "We can't stop her, she won the duel."

Once the key was in her possession, it slowly vanished into sparkles. "One down, seven to go." She looked disdainfully down at Chronos' unconscious body. "Now, my children, to claim my second prize."

She held the doll up and everyone gasped. An ominous purple aura surrounded it and Chronos body vanished in the same purple aura. The doll took on his image as the body vanished. Once it was complete, he let the children see her handywork.

"She turned Chronos-sensei into a dolll!" Chumley stuttered out.

Camula turned the doll back to face her and curled her lips in disgust. "Dolls are pretty, this is decidedly not." She tossed the doll as if it were nothing more than garbage to her.

Judai became furious and tried to slide off Chumley. Ryo stepped over and put a restraining hand on his shoulder. His eyes were closed and everyone looked at him, including Camula who smiled. When he opened his eyes, there was clear challenge in them. This person was responsible for turning his beloved teacher into a doll. She would be his opponent if he had anything to say about it.

Camula smiled at him once more. She knew exactly how to play this group of children. And what's better is they would be hers as would Ryo. The wind whipped around her and she disappeared in a gust.

"I bid you all farewell." Her voice echoed.

A castle appeared behind her and the fog cleared enough for everyone to see it. It was straight out of Dracula. As the gust of wind carried her to the castle, she heard their voices.

"We'll find you!" Misawa yelled out.

"And duel!" Chazz finished.

"Children, that is exactly what I am hoping for." Camula's voice carried back to them and left them all with a cold dread.

Notes

Sorry I skip Chronos and Camula duel because the duel is the same as it was in the anime, so I didn't want to waste my time by replaying it.

Ryo won't duel Camula next so I am planning someone to take his place and he will be the one to save everyone from her, not Judai.
