Chapter 6: Lost Girls - Miss Mystic Falls
I woke up to yet another day in Mystic Falls, she had a plan to find Elijah, and the only way to do that was to go to Richmond. She remembered that Slater lived there, when Elena went all 'I want to sacrifice myself'. So that was her plan: go to Richmond, find Slater and get a message to Elijah.
I packed her car and was on the go. I told Liz that I was staying at Elena's, and hoped to god that she wouldn't get discovered. So there I was on the road to Richmond and about an hour's drive. When I finally got there, I just needed to find the coffeeshop. that Slater owned. That took about half an hour.
I walked in the door at the coffee shop. I could see people staring at me, I was after all human, I saw a waitress and walked over to her.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where I can find Slater." I asked her. The waitress took a good look at me, before answering.
"Um, Slater is in the back, just through that door." She said and pointed to a door in the back.
"Thank you." I said, and began to walk to the door. Behind the door were three doors. I knocked on the first one and a person answered.
"Come in." I heard a male voice. I opened the door to find Slater sitting behind a desk with papers around him. He looked up, whenI came in.
"Hi, Your're Slater right." I said to him, closing the door, and walking further into the room.
"I am, and you are." He said, looking intensely at me.
"I'm Anastasia, Ana for short, I'm looking for an Original, Elijah." I said confidently.
Slater rose from his chair and walked over to me. "You're looking for the Original Elijah?" He asked me.
"Yes, can you help me?" I asked Slater.
"How do you know who I am?" He ignored my question.
"I heard about you from a friend." I said to him.
"A vampire friend." He asked me.
"Yes, can you help me?" I asked again.
"Depends on what you want with said Original." He said, walking back to sit down in his chair. Then gestured for me to sit on the chair opposite him. I took a seat in the chair.
"I'm looking for him, I need his help with something." I said, trying to come with something.
"With what?" Slater asked. Looking at me questionable.
"Just something." I said.
"You're lying." He said. I swallowed hard. "Your heart rate is increasing and you have a hard time keeping eye contact." He said. "So what are you hiding?" He asked me.
"I'm having these dreams about him, or flashbacks and I don't know why or how, but ever since I started wearing this necklace" I said gesturing to my necklace. "I've been having these dreams."
Slater was now staring at me, probably trying to figure out if what I meant was true.
"Interesting." He said. "Okay, I'll try to get a message to Elijah from you, just beware it can take some time. What do you want to tell Elijah?" Slater asked.
"Uhh, just tell him Anastasia Forbes would like an audience with him, he will know where to find me." I said.
After I visited Slater in Richmond, I went back to Mystic Falls and waited for some sort of confirmation that Elijah had gotten my message.
And time went, Halloween was a nightmare with Vicky being Stalked by Elena. Yeah I saw it happen. Then Lexi came, and didn't die to my surprise. Damon killed some other vampire instead. But she went away from Mystic Falls after Stefan's birthday. After that Alaric arrives, and is a very nice person, all things considerate. Damon then takes Elena to Georgia, I think he might be falling for her. Anna also comes into town, with all her vampire friends, that was a big mess, trying to mostly stay out of it. Elena then gets kidnaped by Anna and her friend, but they get away. Elena then searched for her biological mother, Bonnie and I went with her, it was a nice trip. Then nothing much happened until now.
It was the day of Miss Mystic Falls. Caroline was freaking out about it, she was a contestant just like Elena and myself. Apparently I signed up a long time ago with Caroline and Elena.
Walking out of school with Caroline we see Elena and Bonnie talking, and walk over to them.
"Bonnie! Bonnie! Thank god you're home!" Caroline says and gives her a hug.
It's good to see you again Bonnie" I say with a smile and hug Bonnie as well.
Bonnie's Grams died not long ago, and therefore Bonnie went to stay with her dad for some time.
"I know we talked everyday but I missed you." Caroline says, I look at Elena and she seems quite upset about it.
"Are you okay Elena." I ask, looking at her.
"Yeah I'm fine" Elena says.
"How are you doing?" Caroline asks Bonnie.
"Better. Better. You know, glad to be back and trying to keep myself busy." Bonnie says.
"Well, I can help with that. Major wardrobe problem. You need to help me pick up the perfect dress for the Founders' court." Caroline says.
"The Founders' court? Did I miss something?" Elena asks, looking at Caroline.
"The Founders' court! You know, Miss Mystic Falls. They announced it today." I say.
"Yeah, You , me and Ana are on it." Caroline says.
"Oh my god! We signed up for that so long ago...I completely forgot." Elena says, realizing that she entered.
"So, are you dropping out then?" Caroline says. 'Less competition I think' With a smile.
" I can't," Elena says, looking at Bonnie.
"No?" Caroline asks.
"Her mom is the one who wanted her to enter." Bonnie says, with a sad smile.
I was at the Founders Hall, waiting for my turn to talk to the Miss Mystic Falls committee.
Caroline comes out.
"How was it?" I ask her.
"Great, they were so nice." She says, with a smile.
"Anastasia Forbes" Mrs. Lockwood calls.
I walk through the door, and sit down in the chair in front of the committee. There are two other women and Mrs Lockwood.
"This year's queen will have the special honor of taking stage at the hundred and fiftieth Founders' Day Gala. Before we crown our winner, we'd like to get to know a bit more about each of you." Mrs. Lockwood says to me.
"I'm on the Mystic Falls beautification committee, and I volunteer at Mystic Falls high school, where I help fellow students with their homework." I say and smile at the committee.
"And I am very grateful to have been chosen to be a part of Miss Mystic Falls. I will honor the traditions like my ancestors before me, when being a part of Mystic fall." I say. The committee smiled at me.
"Thank you Miss Forbes." Mrs. Lockwood says.
All I needed was to find a partner. I considered asking Damon, but because of Stefans bad mood with blood, Damon would probably still stand in for Stefan when Elena walks down the stairs. Maybe, maybe not, I was not going to take that chance. So I asked someone named Kevin who was in my English Class, and he said yes.
Now at Mystic Falls High school, where I was going to attempt to learn how to Dance.
"Honor your partner. Stay focused, right hand around. Flirt with your eyes, Left hand around." Mrs. Lockwood says.
"I'm sorry if I step on your toes." I say too Kevin, with a smile.
"Likewise." He says. He says and laughs.
"Both hands." Mrs. Lockwood says.
Then Stefan and Elena does their own thing and Mrs. Lockwood yells. "No! No! There's no touching during this part. It's about the simple intimacy of the near touch. Very nice, Amber!"
"Thank you, Mrs. Lockwood!" Amber says.
"Very Nice Amber" I say to Kevin as Mrs. Lockwood. And he burst out laughing.
"Anastasia and Kevin, keep a straight face please." Mrs. Lockwood says.
At the Founders Hall all the girls are starting to get ready.
"Elena, can I borrow your curling iron?" I ask her.
"Yeah, of course," She says, and I start curling my hair.
After getting ready, with hair and makeup. I go to the bathroom and put on my dress. I decided to wear a deep purple dress.
I walked back into the room where all the girls were getting ready, to see Elena and Stefan arguing.
"So what - so you and Damon all of a sudden have everything figured out then?" I Hear Stefan say.
"It's not about Damon. It's about what's happening to you." Elena says.
"I know and I'm telling you that I'm fine. I'm fine. Please, come on. Elena I thought you...I thought you believed in me." Stefan says.
"Umm, Excuse me, Stefan you can't be in here right now. " I say, they both look at me.
Then someone knocks on the door.
"Anastasia and Elena let go. The line-up's starting." Mrs. Lockwood says.
"I'm coming." I say.
"I just...I need a minute." Elena says.
"You're not even dressed yet. Escorts wait downstairs, Stefan." Mrs. Lockwood says to Stefan.
I walk out and stand in line waiting.
"Miss Tina Fell, escorted by Bartholomew Whitmore." Mayor Lockwood says.
"Has anyone seen Amber?" Mrs. Lockwood says.
"No," I say.
"Do you guys see Stefan down there?" Elena says, worried.
"Nope, just my boring fill in escort." Caroline says.
"Weren't you supposed to go with Matt?" I say.
"They wouldn't let him out of work. Wait, what happened to Stefan?" Caroline asks Elena.
"I don't know, he just disappeared somewhere, I don't know. What am I doing? I never should have gone through with this." Elena says.
"What do you mean?" I say.
"I need to find Stefan, this isn't me, I'm not this person anymore." Elena says, about to leave.
"No, no, no way, no. You had your chance to drop out and believe me I was all for it because there is no way that I could beat you. Elena, you're doing this because it was important to your mom." Caroline says, stopping her from leaving.
"Miss Anastasia Forbes and her escort Kevin Fell." Mayor Lockwood says.
"Good luck" I say and walk down the stairs.
I walk out into the backyard and onto the dance floor. When both Caroline and Elena comes out the music starts playing and we dance. Kevin was actually a very good dancer, so we had a lot of fun.
"Before I crown the winner, I'd like to offer a personal thank you to all of these young ladies for their efforts to better our community." Mayor Lockwood says.
"So, without further a due it is my honor to announce our very own Miss Mystic Falls, Miss Caroline Forbes!" Mayor Lockwood says, and everyone starts applauding. I give Caroline a quick hug and a congrats .
After that everyone is just having fun. I walk into the house to get something to drink when I hear my phone ding. I look at it, it's from Slater 'Got your message to Elijah." I smile relieved, finally now I just have to wait for Elijah to come.
