Arisugawa's Locket

Superheroes Return!

The girl in the white hoodie costume and mask looked around nervously, unlike her friend who seemed entirely unbothered. "This is neat! How did we get here?" Iko Koishikawa asked, the pretty brown haired teen looking around.

Spirits, the Russian superhero, smiled as the taller blonde looked around. "This looks like a nice bar," she mused.

"But HOW did we just get here?" Shy demanded, the pretty white haired girl looking around her in confusion.

"Welcome to Arisugawa's Locket," May said warmly, the brown haired woman dressed in a maid uniform. "My name is May, I'll be your hostess," she added.

"Eep," Shy 'eeped' a bit.

Spirits nodded to her, "Hello May. This bar... it's a pocket dimension?"

May smiled warmly, "Sort of. The bar moves across alternate universes, to pick up customers and return them home."

"Ooh, that sounds incredible," Iko noted.

"This is so weird," Shy sighed quietly.

Spirits ignored that as she told May, "We'll have to inform our ally Uni-Lord, but I don't see how it would be an issue."

May nodded as she said, "Would you like a table or just stand at the bar? Or there's the library or dance floor?"

"There's a LIBRARY?" Shy blurted.

Spirits ignored that, "Table, please."

"Follow me," Maty lead them over, "We'll have a server with you in a moment."

"You're taking this all very calmly," Shy noted quietly. "Especially you, Iko."

Iko just laughed, "You're a SUPER HERO. This should be normal for you."

Spirits patted Shy on the shoulder, "There there."

Shy looked around the bar a moment, then blinked.

"What?" Iko asked.

"Did either of you notice there's JUST women here?" Shy squeaked.

Spirits nodded, "I think I got checked out by at least two women... nice!"

"Cool!" Iko agreed as Shy just sighed.

Batwoman calmly stalked across the bar. 'Harley and Ivy are here again,' she noted. The bar was neutral territory, so there was THAT, but Harley tended to get in trouble anyway...

"Batwoman," Excel Excel beamed as the waitress asked, "drink? We have Sasami in, so the foods good tonight too."

"Not right now," Batwoman noted, seeing a familiar face.

Renee Montoya, aka the Question, smiled wryly as Batwoman neared. "Kate," she nodded, "I thought you were busy working with the Outsiders."

"It's my day off," Batwoman deadpanned.

Renee chuckled.

"And aren't you Police Commissioner of Gotham, now?" Kate asked. "How did THAT happen, exactly?"

"Politics," Renee shrugged, "Gordon had quit, and while I was only back a short time the city needed a 'clean' cop, and I checked off two diversity boxes too. Non-white and lesbian."

"And you were a good cop," Kate reminded her.

"Well, I try," Renee shrugged.

"Have you had to go out in costume, since becoming Commish?" Kate had to ask.

"Once or twice," Renee admitted as she sipped her soda, "Gotham isn't a place where you can always follow the book."

"Got that right," Kate sighed, then looked at Renee thoughtfully.

"No, Kate. Not this time," Renee shook her head, cutting off a possible invitation.

"Oh?" Kate frowned.

Renee stuck her hands in her jacket pockets uncomfortably, "It always plays out the same for us. We get together, have a few good months, then SOMETHING happens and we break up."

Kate opened her mouth, then closed it. She was right, darn it.

"Friends?" Renee offered.

Kate sighed, "I suppose." She waved down a server to get her drink refilled...

Karolina Dean beamed as the gorgeous blond waved, "Julie! Over here!"

The black haired Nico Minoru fought back a scowl. She and Karolina had FINALLY gotten together, but it was still new for them... and Julie was Karolina's ex, darn it.

"Hi Julie," Nico managed.

Julie Power aka Lightspeed, amusingly, was unperturbed. "Relax," she told Nico, "I'm waiting on my new girlfriend."

"REALLY?!" Karolina squealed.

"Yeah, we started dating while I was with the Future Foundation," Julie admitted.

Nico was a bit embarassed to realize she really was relieved. With their similar powers and personalities, the two would make a great pair. 'Tho maybe their being so similar might be boring,' Nico mused silently.

"Hey!" a unfamiliar voice called. The brown haired, muscular young woman was wearing a simple blue bodysuit, with red gloves and goggled pushed up onto her forehead.

"Everyone, this is Rikki Barnes, aka Nomad," Julie introduced her.

"Pleasure," Rikki sat, smiling wryly. "It's so nice being back on Earth again," she added, drinking some soda as they all were too young to drink.

"You were in space?" Karolina asked, the humanoid alien having has several space adventures over the years.

"Alternate dimensions," Rikki admitted, "LONG story."

"Yeah, I get that," Nico agreed. The Runaways in general had seen some shit...

"Anyway, I'm back on Earth and have no intention of seeing any more weird stuff," Rikki added with a sigh.

"Yoiu realize that's a Doom Flag, right?" Karolina pointed out with a sigh.

Meanwhile, two other women were dancing as soft music played. Karma of the X-Men held her girlfriend, Elle, close as the music played.

"Shan, should we be worried this bar kind of just APPEARED on Krakoa?" Elle asked at one point.

"I'll tell Kitty Pryde about it," Shan agreed, "but I think it's harmless."

Meanwhile, Kaelen Ra-Evon looked around her in confusion.

Called by some the super hero Scion, she was dressed in her modified spacesuit, though she had removed her mask and hood. Her lover, Leah Lougheed-Tuck was looking around them thoughtfully.

"I think we should be more alarmed at just APPEARING in a bar," Kaelen pointed out.

"It's a bar," Leah pointed out reasonably, "not a evil plot or a trap of some sort. Besides, who woulkd trap us in a place like this?"

"The CORP?" Kaelen frowned.

"This is too convoluted for them," Leah shook her head.

"Point," Kaelen had to agree.

"Come on," Leah took her hand and tugged, "there's DANCING! And I want to eat with you later too."

"Yes dear," Kaelen agreed.

Kara Zor-El had ducked once she saw both women, and was gazing in shock. She had realized immediately that was a counterpart to her... and that was a counterpart to LENA LUTHOR.

"You okay?" Mahoro asked, helping out at the bar.

"Yes, just.. surprised a bit," Supergirl admitted.

"Fair enough," Mahoto agreed, "it's always a bit weird running into your counterparts. Have you met Galaxy Girl? Or Focus? I think both are also your alternates."

"... my life is too weird," Supergirl sighed.

"Supergirl! I did not expect to see you," the tall, bosomy red headed amazon strode up to her.

"Princess Maxima?" Supergirl gulped.

"Have you decided if we will mate yet?" Maxima asked boldly.

"WHAT."

To be continued...

Characters: Shy, Iko and Spirits are from the manga/anime SHY, Batwoman, Question, Harley and Ivy are Batman characters, Nico and Karolina are from Runaways, Rikki Barnes is from Captain America, Karma and Elle are from X-Men, Kaelen Ra-Evon and Leah Lougheed-Tuck are from Last Scion of Ra by K. Aten and finally, that's TV version of Supergirl.

Staff: May is from the anime Hand Maid May, Excel is from Excel Saga, Sasami is from Tenchi Muyo, and Mahoro is from Mahoromantic.

Notes: Shy is semi-yuri, in that Iko and Shy are written VERY closely, but nothing canon yet.

While I ship Question and Batwoman, the pattern for them in the comics is they get together, break up then get together again, so...

Nico and Karolina got together recently in the Runaways series. Lightspeed and Rikki met in the Future Foundation mini series.

If you have not read Last Scion of Ra by K. Aten it is really good. Originally a SuperCorp fanfic, it has since become a stand alone novel. ONE OF THESE DAYS I want to do a fanfic where canon Supergirl lands in Scion's universe and freaks out a bit over her dating the Lena Luthor expy...
