Hey there! i'm back

i started writing this almost right after i finished the first chapter, so hopefully it hasn't been to long.

edit: wait a minute people are actually reading this?!?!?!?

i never expected that, thank you!

i hope you people keep liking this story!

Anyway, last chapter was very similar to the start of the first game, but from now on things will start to change.

Lost and found

Things were looking up alright!

the first few nights were rough, they would both sleep on the floor and with nothing to stop the cold wind from entering their home both Dusty and her spent a few nights shivering on the ground.

Luckily that ended after she found a few curtains and placed them on the exit to their home, it was still cold but without the wind constantly entering their home the nights became a lot easier to sleep through.

a few days later Dusty found a very old looking chair along with a desk for their home, Alua would have a lot of trouble to get them home had it not been for Dusty.

Turns out not only is he able to make her fly, but when they work together they can make objects around them float as well, though only two objects at a time.

As for her flying, she really had to be carefull with doing it while being too close to anything, she still wasn't sure why it happened, but whenever she passed near any object while flying she would end up dragging that object trough the air for a few seconds before they fell to the ground.

She was also only able to fly for about 90 seconds at a time before Dusty needed to rest, she had almost fallen on a bunch of rusty old things on the beach a few times.

not long after that she ended up finding a matress, it was an old ragged looking thing, as hard as a rock, none of it mattered to her, they had the best night's sleep they had since finding this place.

she also found a very old looking bathtub, took her a lot of time to clean it but after she did it she quickly found a place for her to put it in their home, it was still pretty useless since it still couldn't get water on it but she'd find a way to do just that soon enough.

however one problem remained, getting food and water had been the most difficult things to get for themselves.

however hope remained, they did spend most of their time cleaning and getting new things for their "pipe house" as she had started calling it, they also left to explore the streets around them.

as it turned out exploring was a good way to learn lots of things.

a few kids were running around one day, they were young, even younger that the kid she had saved the other day, and they were all very exited, talking about what "quirks" they had.

She had heard that word before, when the old woman asked to save her grandson she mentioned it.

she still wasn't sure what it meant until another kid came running, screaming that he had just gotten his quirk, before showing to the other kids how small yellow sparks formed in his hands.

it was then that she turned around to Dusty "wait, if a quirk is a power, and you can make me fly, does that mean that you are my quirk? and those kids are getting their powers so young, did i do that too? do you remember me from before i woke up?"

"Mreow"

"you don't? then why did you follow me before i named you?"

"Meow" said Dusty and while Alua wasn't able to understand what he "said" she did understand the gesture the cat had given her, it was a shrug.

she learned many things after that, a "hero" was someone who went to a special school, where they were taught how to help people with their quirks, only heroes were allowed to use their quirks in public, wich is why she got in trouble with the police after saving that kid before.

She didn't know if she was still in trouble for that so whenever she saw a "police officer" as she now knew what they were called, she would do her best to avoid them and not get their attention.

Most important of all, she had learned how to solve their problem, one day while exploring she overheard two men talking, one was complaining about "long days at work" and of how "they couldn't wait to get paid"

she ran home after that, very exited to tell Dusty that she knew how to solve all their problems.

"So that's how people get food, they get a job, and every number of days they get money, and they can use that money to buy food and water, you see? if i get a job we'll have to stop worrying about going hungry!" exclaimed Alua with small jumps of happiness.

"Meow" exclaimed Dusty, running in circles around the pipe house until he jumped straight into Alua's arms.

"Hahaha!!! we'll go out there tomorrow, and we'll find a job i promise" said the girl as she held the small cat close to her.

she'll get that job, she was certain of it.

it couldn't be so difficult right?

As it turned out It was very difficult, she had spent the last 2 days going from one place to another trying to find somewhere to work.

Most places that offered a job took one look at her and decided that she was not fit to work with them, and in the few cases were she was actually interviewed her apparent lack of identity and documentation made them all kick her out very quickly, others just took a look at Dusty and told her very rudely that no animals were allowed in their establishments, she tried to explain that he was just her quirk but they refused to listen.

and so she found herself in her current position,

inside a small restaurant, in an office,sitting in a chair in front of a small desk, Dusty sitting by her feet trying to encourage her, shivering at the two cold eyes looking down on her with a judgemental look.

"So let me get this straight, you woke up about a week ago, with no memory except a name that might not even be yours, and a cat that you just realized is actually your quirk, found yourselves a place to live in and now you want to work here so you can keep yourselves fed?" said a stern looking woman from behind a desk her eyes locked directly on Alua. "on top of that you have no documents with you, no identification of any sort, you don't know if you were a student on any school and it's clear by your appearance that you haven't changed clothes or taken a bath since you woke up."

"ehm... yeah, that's pretty much it" said Alua trying and failing not to show her fear of the woman, she really needed this, even if this woman was pretty scary, she was one of the few who at least agreed to give her an interview and while she didn't look happy that Dusty was with her at least she didn't kick them out right of the bat, but she was right, her strange black and golden clothes wich had made her stand like a sore thumb amongst the crowd reeked after being used nonstop for an entire week, her hair was a tangled mess and her hands were covered in a thin layer of grime.

"Look i know you probably don't want to hire me, but would you at least consider it? i really have no idea what else to do" said Alua.

"What about your family?"

'i don't know if i have any"

"Friends? someone who could tell you who you were?"

"everyone i asked if they knew me gave me a wierd look and told me they've never seen me before" said Alua lowering her head in sadness.

she didn't notice how the woman's eyes softened up for an instant before returning to their previous look.

"... you'll be here every day from 3:pm until we close at 9, you'll come in from monday to friday, you'll clean the tables before and after the clients take a seat, and you,ll stay until 10:pm you'll help clean the kitchen, we don't allow animals in here, this is a restaurant after all but since that cat is a part of your quirk i'll allow it to stay in my office while you work, as long as it behaves, you'll start in 2 days."

"huh? wha? bu-? you're giving me the job?

"Don't get too happy about it, i'll have my eyes on you, if you mess this up you'll be out faster than you can blink"

"Yes ma'am, ...wait, from 3:pm to 10:pm but i could be here the rest of the day! i've got nothing else to do" said Alua with a confused expression.

"You're still a teenager and if im not mistaken by your looks you should be about to start your high school education, i won't have an uneducated street rat as an employee, use the rest of your day to study, unless i'm mistaken, any entrance exams should start in 3 to 4 months from now, once you get to high school we'll accomodate your schedule so it won't interfere as much with school, understood?"

"School? but i cou" said Alua, wanting to argue, but suddenly stopped when the woman's eyes narrowed with an angry look.

"any problem with that?" said the woman in an angry voice.

"no ma'am, whatever you say goes!!!" said Alua while frantically shaking in her seat, not only her new boss was somehow very scary, but she had just gotten a job, she feared that anoying the woman in any way would make her quickly reconsider.

"good, now one last thing Alua" said the woman as she started to look trough a purse she had with her, pulling out some money from it and extending it towards the girl, "take this, get yourself some clothes, a bath and some food"

Alua reached towards the money with an uncertain look on her face but right before she touched the money the woman pulled her hand back.

"you won't get anymore than that until next month, make sure to use it well"

"yes ma'am" said the girl.

after hearing that the woman once again extended her hand with the money towards Alua, this time allowing her to take it.

"now run along, get ready and come back on monday, we'll have a uniform for you then."

"Yes ma'am, thank you! you won't regret this, i promise"

"make sure of that, now go, i've got other things to do"

after hearing that the girl got up from her chair, her eyes shining with happiness while she made her way to the exit, the small cat that came with her following closely behind, giving a small barely noticeable jump every few steps, he to was happy, and at last they left the restaurant, quickly and exitedly running home.

"I know you overheard everything Takeo" said the woman standing up from her chair and starting to look for some paperwork to fill, she had after all a new employee working for her.

" Oh come on Rin, don't be like that i was just making sure everything was okay, i mean did you look at that girl, i thought she would try to steal from you, by the way are you sure she'll come back? you just gave her your own money"

the now identified Rin took a look at Takeo, he had been the first one to work for her, they met in their youth and stuck together since then with him working on the kitchen and her on the paperwork.

"I'm sure she'll come back, when she said that she had no family and friends i saw it in her eyes, she really has nowhere else to go, and as for the money? you saw how she looked, she really needed it, besides she will have to learn how to spend it efficiently if she's living by herself"

"what i'm hearing is that the great and mighty Rin got a soft spot for... what did you call her? an uneducated street rat?"

at that Rin gave him a very angry look that told him he was walking a fine line.

"I believe you have work to do, we open our doors in 15 minutes, go make some food"

Takeo just let out a small laugh before giving her a salute, and saying " yes boss we shall deliver the best food we can offer" making his way out of her office and into the kitchen.

"Stop that, its annoying" but despite her words she had a very small and almost invisible smile on her face, the only response she got was a short but loud laugh from the other side of the door.

"Can you believe it Dusty? we finally got a job! and money, and food!!" exclaimed Alua while putting everything they just bought on their bed, lots of bottles of water, some to drink, others were to pour in buckets and use them to take a bath, some take out food, not much or it would spoil, but enough to get them by for a day or two, she would buy some more then.

a few spare clothes, while not many they would serve in making sure she didn't reek like a dead animal again, she just needed something to clean them every now and then but she was certain she could find something on the beach.

Dusty hadn't stopped jumping and running around since they got home, he was just as happy as she was.

yes, this has been a good day, it didn't go the way she expected and she still wasn't sure of how to feel about her "you must study to get to high school or you're fired" condition, but everything else was good so she'll do her best to hold up her end of the bargain. and with those thoughts on her head she finished putting everything they bought on their places, climbed up to bed Dusty beside her and quickly fell to sleep.

Detective Tsukauchi was having a bad week.

scratch that it's been a bad month.

first a bunch of... black holes started to appear all over the city, some small, some as big as a building, they would appear for a couple of minutes and suddenly vanish without leaving a trace that they could follow to their possible origin, luckily no one had died from them yet a lot of injured people due to the debris floating around during this events, a few people ended in hospitals but so far all of them were able to make a complete recovery, or at the very least were well on their way to do so, Syd an officer that started working with them 6 months ago had started to calling this events "Gravity storms" due to how they pulled everything towards them, no one else had given another name so that's how most officers called them nowadays.

Then out of nowhere a new villain appears, calling himself "Alias" attacking both civilians and small time heroes, his quirk seemed to be able to manifest strange red creatures with glowing eyes that seem made out of crystal, and using them to attack his target.

a few heroes had fought back against Alias and discovered that breaking the creatures eyes makes them dissapear, however as soon as they defeated one Alias would summon more eventually overwhelming the heroes.

after knocking them unconscious he took everything of value from both heroes and civilians.

unfortunately no quirk they knew of matched his, his face was always covered and his voice was distorted by it, as far as they could tell he had no birthmarks, tatoos or visible scars that could help them to identify him.

and last but not least, about a week ago an incident with a "gravity storm" almost ended up with a child being dragged towards it, making him the first person to die by this events.

as if luck would have it a teenage girl used her quirk to fly towards the kid and save him, tough she did require the assistance of some officers to finish the job as one would expect to happen with a kid playing hero and bitting more than they could chew.

An officer tried to follow the established protocol for this situations, they would bring her to the station, notify her family and send her home with a warning and a "slap to the wrist" no further action would be taken against her unless she dicided to skip the law one again, in which case the punishment would be more severe.

however the girl panicked and ran away, she would have been caught had it not been for Syd, who after the incident submitted a report to him.

as it turned out Syd explained in his report that he had just started talking to the girl before they were interrupted by another officer.

The girl had apparently asked him if they knew each other, she claimed to have no memory or knowledge of her identity save for the name "Alua" which she assumed was her name.

in top of that she was in company of a quirked animal, a black cat, and on his body lights very similar to stars were always shining.

They found her through some cameras a few days later, however on his comand all officers that saw her would make no contact with her, only observe and report.

Said reports being the one he had been reading for the past hour on his desk.

Even if the girl was not amnesiac, and she probably was, she was definetely homeless, she looked a little worse every day and by the looks of her she was having trouble getting food for herself.

on top of that she seemed weary of police officers in general often doing her best to get far away from them as quickly as possible, similar to how some small children will try to hide from their parents when they get in trouble at school.

the though would almost make him laugh, were it not for the whole situation being a gigantic mess.

they needed to approach and confront that girl, not only for her small actions that would classify her like a "vigilante" even if it was a one time thing.

if she had any family they needed to make sure she could return to them, but how, a direct approach would scare her off once again, and they couldn't simply walk up to her in regular clothing just to say "hey we're the police, could you come with us please?" it would probably have the same result.

But what if she knew them beforehand, Syd had managed to talk to her if only for a moment, maybe he could approach her, convince her that they only wanted to help her and bring her to the station, if she was telling the truth and didn't remember anything he'd know with his quirk, hopefully reunite her with her family, yes, that could work, of course this plan needed some time before it was good to go but it was as good as an outline of a plan gets.

Hey there, this one came out quickly, i can't promise that it'll always be like that but i'll try my best.

Rin and Takeo are two OC's i made for this story.

Rin was somewhat inspired by Lisa from Gravity Rush 2, a harsh leader but she still worries for her people, even if she rarely shows it, though of course with Rin being a different person she's not the same as Lisa in terms of personality.

Guest: You know? You brought some good quiestions up to me, i've considered placing Kat in a different clases but i never thought of replacing Uraraka, while i've got a pretty good idea of what path Kat will follow it's this kind of detalles that still need some work from me, as for raven well, i'm afraid to yell you that she won't appear any time soon, Kat and Raven Will meet eventually, but it won't happen for a long time, nevertheless i hope you still find this story enjoyable, i'll take your suggestions into consideration but i can't promise anything.
