Dreadful first day

'Whatever hope i had of making a good first impression now lies beneath the ground' Were Kat's thoughts as she changed from her school uniform into a pair of blue and white clothes Mina had called a P.E uniform.

Her new classmates were there too, but they made no effort to hide the fact that they were trying to stay as far away from her as possible.

Well more like they were trying to stay away from Dusty who since calming down had stayed by her side.

Not that she could blame her classmates, Dusty didn't allow anyone to escape from his fury and everyone who had been at the classroom at the time had found themselves a target of Dusty's rampage.

Mina and the tall guy with glasses had been the main targets and since she was the one trying (and failing) to stop him she had gotten her fair share of bites and scratches by the end of it.

Her only relief was that she had managed to calm Dusty down right before a professor arrived, things were already bad, no need to make them even worse.

Speaking of which, their professor, one Aiza... something had told them to change their clothes and meet him for a test or something, she hadn't been able to pay much attention, she had barely been able to take a look at the professor, still trying to make sure Dusty wouldn't try to attack anyone again.

Lucky for her despite her classmates efforts to stay away from them they were still kind enough to explain the situation to her.

"Hurry up Kat, we don't want to be late" Said Mina to her, still without getting too close, but closer ti her than any of her other classmates.

"Agreed, we're taking enough time as it is, hurry up everyone!" answered another girl, she was tall, probably the tallest girl in class and had her hair tied into a ponytail.

"But i can't change clothes! my locker is right where that monster cat is!!!" answered another voice, although Kat had no face to associate it with, it was a girl with an invisibility quirk, so the only thing she could see was a floating uniform shaking at the suggestion of getting close to Dusty.

"Sorry, i'll keep him away from you" Said Kat at hearing that, she had almost finished changing her clothes so she could at least give the girls a little more space to do the same.

"Yeah but you don't really have a good track record on that huh?" Said another person, a girl with dark green hair and big eyes.

" Why did you even bring your cat to UA in the first place? couldn't you just... leave him at your house?" said another girl, she had short dark hair and from what Kat could see her quirk gave her some weird... things dropping from her ears and upon her shoulders, although she couldn't figure out what they were as she was moving and not really looking at her.

She was probably thankful that her locker was on the other side of the room.

"Sorry, Dusty is a part of my quirk and i really can't make him go away OW DUSTY!" Kat said in pain as Dusty took offense to the last part of her coment.

"HSSS"

"Ok i get it! i get it!!! I'm sorry stop trying to rip my legs off!!!"

this seemed to make a few of her new classmates chuckle.

The invisible girl from before used Dusty's attack on her as an opportunity to go to her locker, grab her things and retreat as quickly as possible, were it in any other circumstances Kat might have called that rude, but as she found herself at the mercy of a very angry cat for the second time that day she couldn't help but join in the amusement of her classmates to the situation, in between her yelps of pain of course.

"A quirk assessment test!?!?" was what half of her classmates said after they met with who she now knew to be Professor Aizawa.

she couldn't help but feel dumb when she had no idea what they were talking about.

"But what about the orientation? or the entrance ceremony?"

"If you truly wish to become heroes then you'll have no time for such leisurely events, also the teachers at UA are allowed to run their classes as they see fit"

'So every teacher here can do... pretty much whatever they want?' Kat though to herself.

"Now, i assume you are at least in some form familiar with these sort of tests, since it's part of the curriculum of most schools nowadays, however while you were not allowed to use your quirk then, you are required to use it today"

Professor Aizawa then turned towards one of her classmates and spoke again.

"Bakugo, you placed first for the entrance exam, before coming here, what was your best result at softball throw?"

"67 meters"

"Then come forward, you'll use your quirk this time "

At that, 'Bakugo' a red eyed blonde walked forward, took a ball and then went to stand in a circle a few meters away from the rest of the class.

"You are free to do whatever you want, so long as you don't leave the circle, hurry up and give it all you've got" said Mr Aizawa before pulling out what seemed to be a phone from his pockets.

At that Bakugo gave a wide grin before turning away from the class, a second later a big explosion appeared out of nowhere and Kat could swear she heard that Bakugo guy scream "DIE" but with all the noise and dust flying around it was difficult to hear or see much of anything for a moment, besides her mind quickly turned to another problem, Dusty who had already spent the entire day up to this point in a terrible mood was clearly not happy at the amount of noise made by the explosion, she briefly feared that she was about to get a repetition of what had happened at the classroom when she arrived, and while Dusty did look at both Bakugo and Mr Aizawa with murderous intent he seemed to recognize that doing anything right now would ony get the in trouble, so he laid on the ground and softly tried to cover his ears with his paws.

"750 meters!!! that's crazy!!!" exclaimed s blonde guy not too far from her, and so she lifted her eyes from her cat to the professor in front of them now noticing that the phone he had pulled out before was showing them how far the ball had gone.

'Honestly i'm kinda surprised the ball still exists after the explosion'

"Oh yeah this looks fun!!" Kat heard Mina say at her side and a second later a guy with weird elbows spoke too.

"Oh cool! let's do this!!!"

"Fun? is that what you think this is?" Spoke Mr Aizawa and whatever excitement the class had died with those words.

"Very well, if you wish to treat this like a game then i'll make one thing very clear for you all... whoever averages the worst in all 8 tests we got prepared for today will be expelled".

"WHAT???" was the unanimous response of the class Kat included, even Dusty seemed disturbed by the news.

She briefly wondered how Miss Nakamura would react of she was the one expelled... she would probably look at her with anger before tripling her workload for months.

"But that's not fair?!? it's only the first day of school!!!" said a girl with short brown hair.

"Out there, beyond the gates of this school you will find natural disasters, accidents, violent villains, and a hundred more unpredictable events every day, as a hero, we are expected to deal with these situations on a daily basis, failure can very well mean death or injury, yours or someone else's, if you truly wish to become heroes then you'll need to face all of that as well, if you don't think you're up for the challenge then save me the trouble and leave now".

It was harsh, but she quickly noted how everyone around her gave a look of determination after hearing their professor speak, they were here to prove themselves and she would have to do the same.

Now her only hope was that she wasn't the first to be called for the next tests, seeing as she had no idea what dhe was meant to do.

So... this chapter is incomplete, but i wanted to give you people an update before the year ended so...

i hope you're enjoying this for now, i should have this chapter finished before the next week ends, at that point i'll simply replace this with the finished version of the chapter.

Also, i kinda forgot to answer to your reviews for the past few chapters, but know that I've read all of them!
