This is the beginning to a new story that I have decided to create. Currently, I am doing a challenge where I put all of my WIP on slips of paper and put them in a jar. This then encourages me to work on any one of my currently published stories and makes it more likely for me to update them. I'm not allowed to work on anything else until I either write out a whole chapter or publish something. The point of this challenge is to help force me to finish every story one day at a time. If there is an influx of updates and chapters, you now know why.

No One POV:

LORD MALFOY TO BE DIVORCED?

By Rita Skeeter

It has come to my attention that Lord Malfoy has recently filed for a divorce. His wife, Narcissa Malfoy(nee Black), has been rumored to be working for the Dark Lord and cheating on her husband as well. Lord Malfoy has mentioned in a recent interview with me, that it was time he left the woman who had caused so much pain to him, his father, and his son Draco Malfoy. His statement is as follows, "Thank you for coming on such short notice Ms. Skeeter. I know you are a terribly busy woman, but I simply could not let Narcissa destroy mine or my son's reputation. She would have found a way if it weren't for this interview we are having today. What I am about to say may come as a shocking truth and will be hard for me to say. I can only ask that you forgive me for any disturbances I cause along the way." Lord Malfoy was very cordial and prompt in his formal apology before he was able to get this awful story off his chest. Be prepared readers, for it is not a light one. "To be quite honest with you, my marriage with Narcissa was an arranged one. Though it wasn't like many others of my time because it was based on lies and deceit given to my father and I. You see, Ms. Skeeter, I am a light Veela on my father's side. Like many others in my family, I seemed to inherit this gene when I was born. Therefore, I wouldn't have had to go along with any of the arranged marriage laws as I already have a predetermined mate. Unfortunately, Narcissa would not take no for an answer and went to the Dark Lord with her problems. At the time, she was his most faithful Death Eater and would do anything to be in his good graces. Including trapping a Veela in a marriage to prevent the Veelas from attacking the dark side. When Narcissa informed the Dark Lord of the advantages, he was quick to summon my unwilling father into arranging the marriage. The Dark Lord threatened to harm me, my mother, and everyone that my father loved if he didn't conform to the Dark Lord's wishes. For all of our safety, he complied with a broken heart for me. After all, I wouldn't get the chance to find my mate anymore. It was also to be said that the Dark Lord made my father agree to me having a child with Narcissa in order to hold more against both of us. It was hard for me to hear that part of the contract, as I knew that I would be betraying the mate I would never get the chance of meeting nor having a future with. With heavy hearts, we both signed the contract with blood quills."

Lord Malfoy had a pained look in his eyes as he paused in his recollection of this painful and sad story. It was a heartbreaking sight to see my dear readers, and I pray that you don't have to experience what Lord Malfoy did.

"Pardon the long pause. This is causing more pain than I thought it would Ms. Skeeter. However, I must get this all out before Narcissa finds someone willing to print her own side of the story. Not long after we married, Narcissa fell pregnant and was to be expecting my one and only son, Draco. He was a beautiful boy upon his birth, and I felt more love than I ever thought I would towards a child that was not created by my future mate and me. Then, Narcissa began to abuse my son verbally and physically. She would say such cruel things and I would come home to him crying while holding an injured limb. The woman was vile, and it showed as Draco continued to grow. I cannot bear to go into details, but you understand the point. That brings us to now, where I can finally free myself and my son of Narcissa Black. Thanks to Lord Potter, my family can be healed. With Lord Voldemort gone, and the rumors of Narcissa being nonfaithful, I was able to put in a request for a divorce under the arranged marriage law, section two. In which it states that arranged marriages are to be null and void in the event of unfaithfulness and abuse. The law would only apply if she was both and to my unfortunate luck, she is. I am hoping this will turn over a new leaf for us Malfoys and pray that you and every other wizard in the community understands the situation and does not give us any more pain. Thank you for your time once again Ms. Skeeter. I will take my leave now, as I need to prepare for court."

With the story over and a heart broken, I am here to say that the Malfoy family needs the love and support we can give them.

Harry read the Daily Prophet over and over again but could not fathom why the story affected him so. Truly, it was a heartbreaking article and for once, he wholeheartedly believed Rita Skeeter. The Malfoys have been through so much and Harry suddenly understands why they are so cruel. It was a mask to protect themselves. A really strong one all things considered. He needed to talk to Snape immediately.

Hopefully you enjoyed it so far! The next update will come either this weekend or when my challenge jar deems it to be time again!
