You´re sure it´s love?
Chapter 1
This story picks up where Frankie bought Tony at auction and she proposed to him.
He tells Angela that Frankie has proposed to him and that he needs to think about it.
Angela was with Doctor Bellos and realized that she loved Tony. In this story, we pick up where we left off. We skip a few days and completely skip the passage with Tony and Angela and the exchange about love.
Tony gets up and freshens up in the bathroom, thinking about Frankie´s proposing. What it would be like to live with Frankie. He's always liked her. She grew up just like him, they're from the same area and she looks amazing. He would never be in Angela's league! He knows that. He has feelings for Angela, but what would that look like. She—a great successful woman who lives in a big house, is self-reliant and cultured, and he's from Brooklyn and is a washed-up baseball player. Her housekeeper. Nothing more. Just a housekeeper! He will never be more to her than someone who comes from the `poor` neighborhood. Someone who hasn't achieved much in his life. The best thing he created was Sam. Its one and only. It was only because of her that they moved to Connecticut. He didn't know what to expect. That he meets Angela, who is so unbelievably great. These thoughts seem to depress him more and more.
Frankie had a good job, she'd known him for a long time and would never look down on him, ever. Even if Angela would never do this, it would still be something else. Two different worlds that would only collide with time.
He runs out of the bathroom and puts on his shirt and a pair of jeans. He then stands in front of the mirror "Well go Micelli...you are doing the right thing... At least I hope so." He says to himself and runs his hand through his hair. He takes a deep breath and grabs the tie from his closet and ties it around his neck.
He looks at himself one last time in the mirror before he goes down to the kitchen.
Whistling, he goes down the stairs and then through the door into the kitchen where Angela and Mona are already sitting.
"Oh hey Tony," Angela says with a smile. She's happy to see him. After talking to Dr. Bellos, her butterflies bounce around in her stomach every time she sees him. Like a little girl with sparkling eyes, she watches him as he goes to the stove and turns it on. "Ladies, today we have a quick breakfast, what would you like? Scrambled eggs or pancakes?"
"Oh, thank you Tony, neither, my coffee and an orange juice are enough for me," Angela says kindly.
Mona looks back and forth between the two. She notices that something is in the bush. Tony is dressed so nicely and Angela glares at him. But she knows he's not dressed so well for Angela. He was with Frankie a few days ago, the marriage proposal is still open and he is obviously in a hurry. "Do you have any plans for today Tony ?" Mona asks curiously. She already suspects what's going on.
Tony turns to her to "um, yes..."
"Ok... and what?" Mona asks.
Tony shrugs the debts. He knows that everything would change if he married Frankie...
Mona looks at Angela skeptically. "Well, I still have something to do, see you later," Mona says and stands up. Then she walks out the door.
Angela looks at Tony questioningly.
Tony walks over to Angela and sits down on the chair next to her.
He looks at her embarrassed, "um, Angela...you know Frankie proposed to me."
"Yes Tony" she replies and tries to stay neurtral, but she has a hard time.
He starts to nervously run through his hair. "So I... I'm going to accept the proposal…."
Angela's mouth is slightly open. She remains like this for a short time.
"Ok...but I thought it was just a fixed idea Tony, I thought it wasn't that serious" she says, slightly unsettled, but tries to bring a smile over her lips. In truth, she is shocked!
"Yes, well... Not really. Look, Angela, Frankie and I are from the same area, we've known each other for half our lives. She loves me..." he says and takes Angela's hand in his. Then he looks at her worriedly.
Angela can't believe the whole thing: "I... I don't know what to say..."
"I thought you might be happy for me," he says.
Angela tilts her head slightly to the side and tries to squeeze out a smile again. "Oh Tony...yes of course..." She has to swallow, "Of course I'm happy for you!"
"Oh, I'm glad, Angela...I'd be sad if it were different," he takes her in his arms.
"Ok Angela, I have to go now...see you later" He hurriedly storms out of the kitchen.
Angela can't contain herself anymore, she has to cry. Tears are streaming down her face.
At the same time, Mona comes in the door. "Sorry dear, I forgot my scarf in the living room". Completely preoccupied with herself, Mona walks past Angela towards the living room door and then stops in front of it. Then she turns around. "Angela?"
Mona walks over to Angela and sits down next to her. "What's going on?" she says worriedly.
"Oh, mother... Tony's going to marry Frankie."
"WHAT?" Mona gets up from the chair as if struck by lightning. "You can't let that go, Angela! You have to do something!"
Angela looks at her confused, "what am I supposed to do, mother? He has already decided on her and is on his way to her! She's like him, they're from the same area. She has everything a dream woman must have...how could I stop him, he wouldn't listen to me. Why should he..!"
"Why? Because you're his best friend, you're family! You...you love him, Angela! Don't let that happen!" Mona doesn't look frightened anymore, but rather.
„Angela shakes her head quickly, "Mother, this is the last thing I'm going to do to keep him up. I am not entitled to that at all!
"But Angela, yes! It's up to you. It's ours, we're a family. If Tony goes, what then? Then what about this family? What about Sam?"
Angela raises her hands questioningly and shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, mother! All I know is that I won't stand in his way."
Mona shakes her head and grabs Angela by the shoulders as if to shake her. "Angela wake up - you love Tony, you have to tell him before it's too late. You're going to lose him, forever. You can't let him go, you hear!"
Angela turns away from Mona and crosses her arms in front of her chest. She doesn't know what else to say. Mona is right, but what should she do? Tony has already made up his mind.
