Fitz groaned as he sat at the dinner table. The argument had been going on for almost a day so they agreed to a family meeting. Olivia was directly beside him. Maya, Catherine, and Gerry were sitting on the other side of the table.
Simone served dinner which consisted of shrimp scampi and angel hair pasta with toasted sourdough and whipped butter. For dessert, Catherine baked a Japanese strawberry sponge cake.
They began eating in silence for just a few moments before Catherine began. "So, I wanted to start-"
Fitz groaned silently again.
"-Well don't groan as if you're annoyed," Catherine complained.
"Mom, I am annoyed because I don't know why we're still talking about this. Olivia and I are going. This conversation isn't going to change that. We're getting Cece's emergency passport tomorrow."
"-Fitz you can't just take her and leave for a month-" Catherine argued.
"Yes, I can and I am taking her and I don't understand why we're arguing about this. You can Facetime her every day-"
"Video calling her does nothing-"
"I'm not going to change my mind."
"I don't want you to change your mind, I want you to allow us to come with you. You won't be able to take care of her every second of the day and you shouldn't have to."
"We will be able to take care of her every second of the day because every parent without a nanny, which is the majority of parents, has to do that as well, we'll be fine."
Fitz put more food in his mouth to get a break from talking.
"Livie, I agree with Catherine. You can't just take her away from us, she's the only grandbaby we have, I know you're probably annoyed but to take her away for an entire month…is cruel."
Olivia's mouth fell open, "cruel mom? Really?"
"Olivia please just consider us-" Catherine began but Gerry cut her off.
"Let's find a compromise," Gerry said. "If you leave for a month, maybe a week and a half into your trip we can come visit you for a few days then we'll leave you to enjoy the rest of your trip alone. I think that's fair."
"Dad, no."
"Fitz, I think maybe this could be our compromise. We get some time alone and we get some time as a family," Olivia said.
Fitz sighed, "We've been all together since we brought Cece home and I want us to be alone."
Olivia smiled, "I know baby but we'll go to New York alone and-" Olivia groaned because she desired the same thing but she was tired of Catherine, Maya, and Gerry complaining. "I just don't want this to continue. I really would like for us to go alone so we can get to spend time with Cece but I don't want it to cause any issues between us."
"You know what," Gerry said finally, "I think we can give them a month alone."
"What?" Catherine said. "No. That's too long."
"We'll go back to Santa Barbara, reconnect with friends, check on the businesses and the month will be over before we know it."
"I'm sorry honey, I can't agree to that," Catherine said.
"It's a good idea Mom and I think you should do it because we're going to France and we're going alone."
Catherine sighed and stood, "Fine. Just take her away with no consideration for anyone but yourself."
She threw her napkin on the table and then walked away.
"Am I wrong here?" Fitz asked Gerry.
"You're not wrong, I understand that you want to go and spend some time alone and we'll give you that but we all really enjoy having a baby around, especially your mother after everything she's been through. Consider letting us visit you for a few days but if you don't I understand that as well."
"Please," Maya said. "I'm begging."
"I think that just a few days won't hurt," Olivia said. "We could use that time to do something alone."
"No, no, no, united front remember," Fitz said.
"Fine, we'll see everyone when we get back," Olivia said.
Gerry stood, "I'm gonna check on your mom."
Fitz nodded as he began eating again. "I'm sorry Maya but I think a month away will do us some good."
"I understand. I don't like it and if I wasn't so attached to her and Livie then I'd be fine with a break but it doesn't feel like a break, it feels like a little punishment. I feel like to make up for it we should at least have more time with her until you leave."
"Deal," Fitz said. "I will probably have to give Mom first dibs because I let you babysit for our date night."
Maya nodded, "we can alternate. When are you leaving for France?"
"In a couple of weeks. Once we get Cece's passport but we're going down to the city at the end of the week."
Maya smiled, "you have to let me see pictures of the building."
"I will, I'm so excited to see it," Olivia said. "And Arianna is in the city so she'll babysit so Fitz and I can have at least one night out."
Maya nodded as they finished eating dinner. Catherine and Gerry never returned.
The next morning, Olivia woke before Fitz and once again, he had an erection. He complained when she first did it but yesterday when they woke and she decided to once again suck him off he was all too grateful for the relief and then begged her for more.
She leaned up and moved the sheets from his body. She smiled at the imprint of his cock under his pajama pants. She pulled down that waistband of pajama pants until she had a full view of his thick, erect penis. She squeezed her legs together just a bit because she was beginning to feel aroused. She knew that deciding to get sexual before she was ready for intercourse would make it harder to wait. In just the two days since she began giving him blowjobs again, sexually she began to feel more and more aroused and wet and now she found herself hoping time would pass quickly until she could be intimate with him again.
She took his penis in her hands and lifted it from where it was pressed against his thigh then kissed the tip and let his pre-cum spread against her lips.
Fitz smiled. He was awake and had been waiting for Olivia to wake as well. She drooled saliva on his tip then spread it around him before she took him into her mouth again and sucked him hard then felt Fitz's hands in her hair. "Oh god," he groaned in pleasure.
Olivia leaned up and smiled. He was smiling as well and wide awake.
"You've been awake?" she said as she leaned down and kissed his shaft.
"Couldn't miss even a second of it," Fitz said as he leaned back against the pillow. She squeezed him tight and pumped her hand up and down before she began sucking his tip again. Once she lubricated him she leaned lower and licked his balls all over then she sucked him as she continued to pump her hands up and down his shaft and massage him. Fitz closed his eyes and bit his lips as he enjoyed her mouth on him and tried to remain present and not fantasize about her vagina. She moved up from his balls and took him in her mouth again and began sucking up and down his length. She took her time to savor the feeling of him in her mouth. It turned her on endlessly to feel his thick, stiff, veiny cock in her mouth. She took her time sucking him sensually until he moaned in pleasure and stiffened then exploded in her mouth. She allowed some of it to slide down her throat while she spat the rest of his cum back on his cock and slowly massaged him with the slimy, slippery fluid until he became flaccid again. Once his orgasm was over, he finally let out a long breath. Olivia leaned up and kissed slowly up his bare torso. His muscles flexed underneath her as he tried to catch his breath. She kissed him until he reached up to his lips and pecked him lightly on the lips. Fitz smiled and pulled her down against his torso and wrapped his arms around her. "I told you not to spoil me like this," Fitz said. "Now I'm waking up early waiting for it."
Olivia chuckled softly as she rested his palm against her cheek and held it there. "I love feeling you in my mouth so it seems we're both getting spoiled."
"My half of this equation requires none of the work and all of the benefits."
Olivia smiled and kissed his chest, "I love you."
"I love you too," he said then he flipped them over so Olivia was on her back and he was on top of her then kissed her. Olivia smiled and ran her hands through his hair. "We have to get Cece ready to get her passport."
He nodded and leaned up then pulled his pants up over his flaccid penis. Once he stood he helped Olivia up and they headed to the bathroom to try and take a bath before Cece woke around 7am for her milk. It was almost 6:30am.
They spent just over 20 minutes in the bathroom to brush their teeth and shower. Olivia did her morning skincare routine which consisted of a serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. She applied mascara, concealer, bronzer, and pink Dior lip oil before she heard Cece begin to fuss then immediately stop and she was sure it was because Fitz lifted her from the bassinet and was soothing her. She smiled and stood from her vanity chair and walked out to their bedroom. He was dressed in navy pants and a white t-shirt as he held Cece in her sleep sack.
Olivia walked to him and took Cece from his arms as he hushed her. Olivia went back to the bed and lay against the pillows as she pulled her full breasts from the robe she wore and slipped it into Cece's mouth. She began feeding hungrily. Olivia smiled as Cece pressed her little fist against her breast. "She acts like we're starving her," Fitz said as he watched.
"Yes," Olivia said with a chuckle.
Cece was wearing a pink sleepsack with a pacifier pinned to it.
"We have to pick out her outfit," Olivia said. She grabbed her phone with her free hand and saw a text message from Abby. "Abby texted me again…" she said before she opened her phone and checked the message. "She's asking again if I'll talk to her."
Fitz shrugged and Olivia sighed in response. "I'm just gonna have a conversation. We've been friends for so many years. I can't just cut her off. We should at least have some closure."
"You know my opinion on this. If you want to talk with her, do it."
"She messed up but I really do want to hear what she has to say," Olivia said then texted back that she would talk to her. Abby responded immediately, texting that whenever she was okay to talk she was available.
Olivia finished feeding Cece then she went down to the nursery with Fitz to give her a warm sponge bath before dressing her and grooming her light red hair with a soft baby brush.
They had a quick breakfast of croissants and coffee before they headed out. Simone didn't come in until 9am that day and they left before 8am.
They drove for 30 minutes to the passport agency to apply for a same-day processing emergency passport for Cece as well as take a passport photo. They returned home before 10am. Fitz had to pull over so Olivia could breastfeed and burp Sienna and then continue to the house. She fell asleep in the car seat and Fitz quickly took her up to the nursery and put her in a sleep sack. Olivia decided to go for a walk by the lake in the backyard. She pulled out her phone and called Abby. She answered on the first ring.
"Liv?"
"Yeah, I'm here," Olivia said.
"How are you doing?" Abby asked.
"Why did you want to talk to me?" Olivia asked.
"Could we talk in person?"
"Why?"
"I just think that a phone conversation isn't really what we need right now?"
"I'm home, can you come by my house?"
"Yeah, I can leave now and be there in 30 minutes."
"Okay," Olivia said before she hung up. She went inside to have something to eat and to check her email on her phone. As she sat at the island in the kitchen Fitz descended the stairs. "Hey baby," he said as he walked to the fridge and took out a soda for himself.
"Are you hungry?" Olivia asked.
"Famished," Fitz said. "But I'm gonna wait until Simone is done with lunch. She's making that delicious burger she always does and fries."
Olivia nodded and smiled, "I need to pack up Cece's things for our trip. I'll need your help because without you I'll pack everything."
Fitz laughed as he walked to her and kissed her lips, "Don't look at me, I might pack the fucking crib."
"Oh yeah, where is she gonna sleep?"
"I had Leona order a portable bassinet and ship it to the condo. I'll set it up when we get there."
Olivia nodded and then palmed her face, "Oh my god- why didn't I think to do that."
Fitz laughed, "Don't bother beating yourself up about it."
"I know I'm just a little annoyed at myself and I don't know why," Olivia said. "Abby's coming over. She wants to talk in person."
Fitz didn't respond.
"I mean, are you upset?"
"Olivia, you know how I feel. If you wanna be her friend be her fucking friend just keep her away from me."
"I just want to hear her out, I'm not planning on being her friend."
"Yes you are, you just haven't admitted it to yourself," Fitz stepped closer to her so he was inches away from her face. "You can't fool me…I'm familiar with your game."
Olivia broke into a loud laugh and held her stomach. She remembered the Shaquille O'Neal meme but his tone was so dry that it made it funnier.
"What? What did I do? What's my game?"
He shrugged and smiled then headed back towards the stairs from the kitchen. Olivia stood and followed him, leaving her snack on the kitchen island counter. "What's my game?"
Fitz turned around before he stepped up the stairs and lifted her around his waist then turned and continued walking until they reached their bedroom. He let Olivia down and spanked her ass.
"Mmm…" she moaned then walked to the bed, "I'm bored, come put your penis in my mouth."
Fitz grinned and walked to the bed then pushed down his pants in one swift movement. Olivia kneeled to the ground and grabbed onto his legs then happily licked from his balls and then up his shaft before she took him in her mouth. She made quick work of him and when she was done he fell back on the bed. Olivia stood from the ground and sat beside him on the bed only to feel her phone vibrate in her back pocket. She pulled it out and checked the text.
"Abby is here," Olivia said. "Tell me what's my game?"
Fitz smiled and stood then pulled up his pants and then there was a knock on the door. "Fuck," he groaned then pulled on his shirt.
"Come in," he called.
Catherine opened the door, "I'm going to take Cece for a walk when she wakes from her nap," she said, though not as pleasantly usual and it was because she was still holding a grudge from their talk last night.
Fitz nodded. Catherine stepped back and closed the door.
"She's really upset," Olivia said as she stood.
"I get that but I'm not gonna change my mind. I just wanna spend time alone with you and Cece before you go back to work and I'm not letting anyone make me feel guilty about that, not even my mom"
"I know," Olivia said. "Never thought the day would come that my mom is the slightly reasonable non-clingy one."
Fitz laughed and shrugged in agreement.
"Okay, I'm gonna head down to Abby." She leaned over and kissed his lips lightly then headed downstairs just as a guard was walking Abby up to the front door.
"Hey," Abby said when she saw Olivia.
"Why don't we go for a walk," Olivia said as she stepped outside. Abby followed. She walked past the fountain to the side of the yard.
"How are you doing," Abby asked.
"Really good," Olivia said. "Better than I thought possible after the birth I had."
Abby cringed at the memory of everything that happened. "I'm really sorry Olivia- for everything. I regret going into your OR, I regret saying that you died. I regret it all and I understand why you're mad at me, I understand why everyone is mad at me but you're my oldest and closest friend, I can't lose you. I'm really sorry for everything I did and I'm asking for your forgiveness."
Olivia sighed, "I forgive you. You and I miss you, you were supposed to be Cece's freaking godmother and we've just been off."
"I know, I'm sorry. This is 100% on me so how can I make it up to you…and Maya and Fitz. I fucked up big time."
Olivia walked to the lounge chair by the pool and sat down. Abby followed her and sat as well.
"Yeah but it sucks, you got kicked out of the program, I'm sorry that happened."
"Truthfully Liv, I'm not. Mass Gen is the 3rd best hospital in the world. The residency program is fucking hard, it's cutthroat and I'm burned out, I'm tired, I'm overwhelmed and I always felt like I was behind. I had to call you in the middle of a freaking aneurysm clipping for help. At Tufts, I feel like I'm ahead of the curve…I feel like a freaking genius."
Olivia chuckled, "So you prefer it there."
"Yes. It's a lot less pressure. At lot fewer patients. I'm content."
"I'm glad you like it there. When I heard about what happened I felt so bad but I felt like it was best to give it time. Fitz was furious, so was mom-"
"I know. I felt like shit-"
"I know it wasn't intentional but they were traumatized from the whole thing. I feel like everyone is past it now so this is a great time to move forward."
Abby nodded.
"How's your living situation? Mom told me you moved out."
"Yeah. I moved out and got my own place with the money you gifted me because I was sure I fucked up so bad that she would've kicked me out but then I stopped by the apartment the other day to pick up some mail and the super told me she hasn't been there in like 2 months."
"Yeah," Olivia said. "She moved in with me. She gave up her apartment. She literally has a couple of weeks to get her stuff out."
"How's that going?"
"Really well, it's been great. Everyone is obsessed with Cece and the only problem we have is my mom and Fitz's mom bickering about who gets to spend the most time with her. I think they'd be ecstatic if Fitz and I went back to work tomorrow. They'd love it if I was working 36-hour shifts so they'd be Cece's full-time nannies."
"That's good. It's good to have people who want to help you all the time."
"It would be good if I needed the help, instead it feels like they want to take over parenting from me and Fitz."
Abby nodded in response.
"Like we're driving down to New York tomorrow to spend the weekend then when we get back we're getting ready to go to France for a month and it's been causing some friction."
"Why?"
"Because they want to come," Olivia said with a chuckle. "They think it's unfair for us to take Cece away for such a long time."
"I understand, I'd miss her if I was in their position but you also should have time alone with her."
Olivia nodded.
"I haven't seen Cece," Abby said.
Olivia pulled out her phone, "she's getting so big. She's 7 and a half pounds."
"Shut the fuck up- no way," Abby screamed.
"Yes!"
Olivia pulled up a picture of Cece in the tub from a few days earlier. She had a warm wet blanket spread across her body.
"Oh my god- she's huge. Her weight doubled in 6 weeks?"
"Yes, I'm so happy. Dr. Fencer was looking at her chart and she told me my placenta was definitely incompetent- Fitz got so offended. He takes it literally and I have to tell him no it's just a medical term for it not working properly. He thinks she's saying my placenta was stupid or something."
Abby laughed, "It's a weird thing to hear for sure but I knew she was gonna be huge. I heard she'd be screaming to be fed when she was in the NICU, they had to take her off schedule because she was drinking so much."
Olivia nodded and chucked. "She's still like that. So what's your schedule like?"
"I'm doing 60 hours per week so that's two 24-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift."
"I'd die for that schedule. We're doing 84-96 hours a week at Mass Gen."
"When are you going back?"
"In less than two months. I'm dreading it. I really don't want to leave Cece to go back to working 90+ hour weeks while she's this young."
"Why don't you take time off?"
"They already gave me 5 months off. If I take any more time off- I'll have to repeat the year and that's even if they allow me to."
"Olivia, you're 26, I'm 30 and everyone else is 30 or older. You're 4 years ahead of everyone in your year. You're in a position where you can afford to take time off. I think you should take the time off because you'll never get this time back and you can never have another baby again…at least naturally. There will always be 90-hour work weeks waiting for you."
"You're right and that's what I want to do but I feel like I'm pushing it. I've had a very dramatic year-"
"-so might as well redo it," Abby said with a chuckle.
Olivia nodded, "Thanks, that's really what I want to do, I'm just worried about my standing."
"Obviously do what's best for you."
"Can I tell you something?" Olivia said.
Abby nodded.
"I'm starving. Do you want to go in for lunch?"
"Are you sure that's okay? I know I'm persona non grata right now."
"It's okay. Can you just apologize to them after that we can just put it to rest."
"By the way, I'm glad you aren't dead- I don't know if I said that before."
Olivia laughed. "Wait- what happened in the OR. What did you see?"
"I mean, after I heard that you were rushed into the OR, no one knew what happened. We were all really worried, the nurses, the nurse's assistant, basically everyone so I decided to go figure it out. I found your OR and went into the scrub room to see what was going on and I saw you crash. It was weird, it was like time stopped or slowed or something…you know. You completely flatlined and Dr. Bee was performing manual compressions then she grabbed the paddles and nothing happened. There was so much blood like it was literally on the floor dripping from the surgical table. It was-I mean I can't even describe it but Dr. Rousseau told her to call time and that's when I ran out because I couldn't believe it or fathom it and I literally couldn't listen to them call your time of death, I couldn't handle it because it would make it real. I ran…unfortunately right out to your family. I thought they'd be in your room but they were right in the waiting area and everyone was already on edge so when they saw me crying hysterically, it all came crashing down."
"I'm sorry, I think the entire thing just sucked but it's over now. Come have lunch with me."
Abby nodded as they headed inside together. Simone made grilled wagyu burgers on toasted brioche buns with mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions with spicy mayonnaise dressing, and crispy hand-cut fries. She also made fresh mint lemonade.
She set the food on the kitchen island in front of the stools. Olivia texted Fitz to give him a heads-up that Abby was with her for lunch. Simone texted everyone to come down for lunch and a few minutes later, Gerry, Catherine, Maya, and Fitz. Abby twitched nervously as Simone made her an extra plate.
Olivia took a bite of her burger. "Christ- this is good."
"Yes," Fitz said as he moved to the opposite side of Olivia and grabbed his burger. "I've been waiting for this all morning."
Olivia smiled. "Take a first bite."
He lifted the burger from his plate and took a large bite. Light orange sauce dripped down as he chewed. "Perfect."
He sat down on the stool, as did Catherine, Maya, and Gerry.
"Hi everyone," Abby said.
Everyone returned a greeting but Fitz. Olivia decided to break the ice. "So, I met up with Abby and I know a lot happened at the hospital. It was a mistake that affected you guys but Abby is my best friend so I want us all to be okay."
"I can only speak for myself and probably for Catherine when I say we're okay. It was unfortunate but you and Sienna are okay so I'm okay," Gerry said.
Catherine nodded as well.
"I'm fine," Maya said as she nibbled on her fries.
Olivia nodded and turned to Fitz. He nodded but didn't respond.
"Thank you and I really want to apologize for my mistake. It was a big and consequential mistake and I'm grateful for your forgiveness, especially to Maya and Fitz.."
Everyone nodded in agreement and resumed eating lunch until Cece's monitor on the kitchen counter went off.
"I'll get her," Catherine and Maya said at the same time.
"I already told Fitz I'd take her, " Catherine said as she stood quickly and washed her hands by the sink then headed upstairs. A few minutes later Catherine came back with Sienna. She walked over to the table, cradling Sienna.
Abby smiled, "She's so big- I can't get over it. Your breast milk must be muscle milk."
Olivia laughed, "Exactly. It's like an extra fatty protein shake."
"Do you think she's hungry?" Catherine asked.
"Not yet, I fed her about an hour ago before we got home."
"Can I hold her," Abby asked.
"Yeah," Olivia said.
"No," Catherine said at the exact same moment.
It was awkward for a few seconds before Olivia stood. "I think it would be great for Abby to hold her." She walked to Catherine and stretched her hands for Cece. Abby stood and washed her hands quickly before sitting once again. Catherine begrudgingly gave her to Olivia and Olivia walked her over to Abby and laid her gently in her arms.
"Oh my god, I can't get over how cute she is. Her little red hair- oh my god," Abby gushed.
"Yes, I wasn't expecting the red hair," Olivia said with a chuckle. "Fitz thinks it'll lighten to strawberry blonde like her sister and grandma but I think it'll darken to an auburn color."
"That'll be pretty too- I mean the MCRI gene is recessive so obviously there's an allele in you too which is what I didn't expect," Abby said.
"Right, I mean that's the thought that came into my head. I didn't know I was a carrier-"
"But we knew what obviously you're very genetically diverse, you probably have an allele of everything-" Abby said.
Fitz laughed, "What are you guys talking about? Does anyone understand this?"
Maya shook her head, "I was just about to ask the same question."
Olivia giggled, "It's the MCR1 gene for red hair. It's recessive so both Fitz and I need a copy of the allele in order for Cece to have the red hair phenotype."
"Break it down even more," Maya said.
Olivia laughed again. "There needs to be someone in both Fitz's family and mine for Cece to have red hair, basically."
"Oh," Maya said. "You had a grandmother with very light copper-colored hair so that might be it."
Olivia nodded.
Abby held Sienna for a while before Catherine finally walked back to her and took Cece. Olivia groaned but said nothing as she continued to munch on her fries that were now cold. A little while after lunch Abby left.
Later in the night after Olivia got ready for bed she joined Fitz on the couch. He was holding Cece and talking to her. "-are you gonna be good on the drive down to New York tomorrow?"
"Yes, she is," Olivia said as she sat down beside him.
He kissed Cece's cheek. She was a gorgeous baby. "She's beautiful and perfect. Maybe if she was more annoying we could just pass her off to our moms but no, she's so good."
Olivia laughed, "Right, if she was fussy maybe we'd need a break but she's not. It's hard to give her up," Olivia said as she leaned over and kissed Cece's cheek as well. "You're perfect."
Fitz leaned her against his chest. She was zipped in a pink swaddle suit.
"So what's my game?" Olivia asked.
"Not this again."
"Yes, tell me."
He sighed dramatically before answering. "I knew you were gonna forgive Abby because it's who you are. If you love someone, it's hard for you to let go. When you are mad at Maya you gave her chance after chance and you could never really let go. When we broke up briefly it was the same thing."
"Don't remind me of our breakup, I literally cried my eyes out all month."
"And don't remind me of your crying," Fitz said.
He ran his hands through Cece's hair and kissed her again. She was sleeping against him now.
"So what's the plan for the weekend?" Olivia asked.
"We'll leave tomorrow at noon. We'll get down to the city around 5 and we can probably go out to eat or we can order food and eat in. On Saturday we have the morning to go and see the apartment building and whatever else you want to do then we grab food throughout then on Sunday we'll head back."
"I asked Ariana to babysit on Saturday, I have plans for us."
Fitz smiled, "what plans?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Fine, now I'll have plans for you too and I won't fucking tell you-"
"No, baby please," Olivia begged.
"Fine."
She leaned up and kissed his lips lightly. "thanks."
The next morning, Olivia was happy to wake Fitz with her lips on his penis. This time though, he couldn't help to urge to fuck her face as he orgasmed. Once it was over he fell back on the bed and for the first time he admitted that he was frustrated.
He took a breath and tried to calm down. Waiting was beginning to get harder because as it stood he wasn't really sure how long the wait would be. It was supposed to be three months and they were 2 months in. He planned to completely abstain because he thought that was the easiest way to get through it but with Olivia opening the door sexually he felt like he was losing his mind. All he wanted to do was be inside her and feel how tight and wet and warm she was. He felt his erection coming and stood from the bed and walked to the bathroom and locked the door behind him.
Olivia was confused. Her jaws hurt so she didn't feel like talking but still, she followed him and when she knocked on the door but he didn't answer and when she turned the handle it was locked.
She heard the shower turn on a second later and figured he couldn't hear her. She went over to the bassinet to check on Cece and she was still fast asleep so she went to the closet to finish putting their things together for their trip. She put a dress and an outfit for Fitz in a garment bag because on Saturday she planned a romantic dinner for them. She continued to put together things in her bag until she heard Fitz leave the bathroom. He walked directly to the closet with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Are you okay?" Olivia asked.
"No, I'm fucking annoyed at you."
Olivia's mouth fell open, "what? Why? What did I do?"
"I told you I can't handle fucking blow jobs right now and every morning you're waking me up with my dick down the back of your mouth."
"I thought that's what you wanted?" Olivia said with a frown.
"I want it but I don't want it. I had a plan for getting through this and you're fucking it up."
"What was the plan?" Olivia asked.
"I have a system, okay…"
"A system?"
"Yes. There are two types of erections, there's the natural one- it's one that I can usually ignore and it'll go away if not, I rub it out quickly in the bathroom and I'm fine for the rest of the day," Fitz said animatedly. "The second one is the one I can't fucking ignore. It's the one that makes me feel like I'm gonna explode if I'm not inside you immediately. These blowjobs bring on the second type of erection- the one I can't ignore."
Fitz pulled off his towel and his stiff penis bobbed up in the air. "This is your fault," he said pointing to it. "It's not fucking going down."
Olivia smiled as she walked to him.
"Don't smile," Fitz said.
"I think two is the magic number for you," she said as she reached him and ran her hands up his torso.
"Olivia-"
"Listen to me," she said firmly. "We can either do this the fun way where I give you as many blowjobs as it takes to get us through this until I'm clear for sex or we can do it the miserable way where we are both horny and cranky." She kissed down his torso as she waited for a response.
"Of course the first option is preferable but my complaint is that blowjob makes me more horny, giving me more blowjobs won't change that-"
"I disagree," Olivia said as she kneeled into him and took his erection into her mouth. She slowly worked her way up and down his length before she took him to the back of her throat and kept him there until he came.
This time he was much happier and relieved.
"Okay, this could work," he said with a grin.
"I don't know why you got so worked up last time. Two bjs do the trick."
"Until your mouth gets tired."
Olivia laughed, "Let me worry about that." She said before she stood from the ground. Fitz lifted her and wrapped her legs around his waist. "I'll shower again with you."
Olivia nodded and smiled as he carried her to the bathroom to take a bath. Once they got out Sienna was awake and though she wasn't crying, she was cooing from the crib. Olivia walked to her quickly and pulled out her breast from her robe to feed her as she moved and sat on the bed. Fitz lay beside her and kissed Sienna's tiny feet that were wrapped in fluffy pink socks.
"So when I told you I wanted more kids, you didn't respond, why?"
Olivia's mouth fell open, "how did you catch that?"
"So you admit there was a reason you didn't answer," Fitz replied.
"I'm really not used to a man being this emotionally intelligent. I feel like you always know what's going on with me and that's scary."
"You're stalling," Fitz said.
She groaned, "I don't want to talk about it."
"We need to."
She sighed heavily, "I'm not opposed to more kids, I'm not at all. Sienna's been amazing, perfect actually but I'm not very fond of those 10 months leading up to having another baby."
"Why? It wouldn't be you."
Olivia nodded, "but it would be someone. Most likely someone who already has children because they'll use that to try to predict how her pregnancy will go but nothing is guaranteed. She'll probably be poor or barely middle class and really need the money because those are usually the women who decide to become surrogates for strangers."
"So what- you're worried that the pregnancy will have complications?"
"It most likely won't," Olivia said as she stroked Cece's hair. "Statistically speaking, but I feel like renting someone's womb for 10 months when we can't guarantee a safe delivery or a pregnancy without complications- it's just something harder for me now that I've gone through a tough delivery."
Fitz nodded, "so you don't want to do surrogacy?"
"No, I'm not saying no because if you want to I'm absolutely going to do it, I just feel like I need a little more time to get over the birth. Like ideally when she turns a year old we can revisit. I don't want all those fertilized eggs to go to waste and I do want her to have siblings."
He smiled, "When I said it I wasn't thinking anytime soon Livie- I was thinking in two or three years. I wasn't aiming for Irish twins."
"Oh-" Olivia said with a chuckle. "That's perfect then. Fuck I feel like an idiot."
"If you'd said something then we could've cleared this up days ago."
Olivia rolled her eyes and chuckled, "Fine. How did you even know?"
"You can't fucking lie so when you keep quiet I get suspicious."
"Fair," she said with a small chuckle as she leaned over and kissed his lips.
Fitz went to dress in the closet and when he was done he went to Cece's nursery to prepare her bath. Once Olivia was finished nursing her, she met him in the nursery to give Cece a bath and dress her before she went back to her closet to change, then they went down to the kitchen for breakfast. It was Simone's early day and by the time they went down at 8:30 am, Simone had spicy feta frittatas and fruit ready for them. They ate together for a few minutes before Maya, Catherine, and Gerry came down for breakfast as well. Maya rushed over to Olivia for Cece. Olivia couldn't help but chuckle as she allowed Maya to take Cece from her arms. Maya cradled her tenderly and kissed her hair.
"If I knew I'd love having a grandbaby this much I'd have asked you to give me one sooner."
She laughed, "Oh please, you say that now."
"Yes," Maya said with a chuckle.
Catherine was still upset and seemed even more annoyed that Maya took Cece first. Olivia was trying to be sensitive to her but she was glad for some time away. "Hi Catherine, Hi Gerry," she greeted.
Catherine smiled dryly, "Good morning, Liv."
Gerry smiled a lot more warmly, "Good morning Olivia."
They ate together in silence, which was unusual for them. Cece sucked her pacifier in silence, cradled in Maya's arm while Maya ate with one hand.
"So after you come back from France, it's time for you to go back to work?" Maya asked.
Olivia hurried to chew her food so she could speak, "actually," she said. "I'm not so sure. I was talking to Abby yesterday and I think I'm gonna try to take an entire year off. I'm probably going to have to repeat the year but I don't think I care. I'm four years ahead of all the doctors at my age so I'm gonna look into that."
Fitz grinned, "What in the ass- you didn't tell me."
"I was going to once we got to New York and I also kind of forgot," she said with a chuckle.
"So I should go back to Santa Barbara then," Catherine said as she stood.
"Honey, take a breath," Gerry said.
"No, I'm done," Catherine said. "We already agreed that I'd come here to take care of Cece once your maternity leave is over so now you're telling me that you've changed your mind-"
'-I didn't change my mind-" Olivia began to say but Fitz cut her off.
"Mom, you have to stop," he said. "If this is how you plan to be, it isn't going to work and maybe you should go back to Santa Barbara."
Catherine's eyes filled with tears. "How could you say that?" she said angrily.
"Mom, are you seriously telling me that if Olivia wanted to spend more time with our baby before she goes back to working 24-hour shifts you would have a problem with that? You want her to rush off to work so you can have Cece?" Fitz said.
"We had an agreement-"
"Agreements change. Cece is better off having all of us around her, especially her mother so if this is how you're gonna act then you should go back to Santa Barbara."
Gerry sighed as Catherine became tearful.
Fitz groaned again, "Let's all sit and have a conversation. We need to come to a resolution."
Gerry and Catherine sat down.
"Let me start," Fitz said. "We have to figure out how all of us can get along in the house. That said Olivia and I didn't agree to have you all here so you can take over raising and parenting Cece. She's our first kid and I really don't want to fight with you for time with her. I think that once we get back from France, we should work out a schedule. By then we should know if Olivia is going back to work or not. Olivia- you have the floor."
"Uhh- no-no-" Olivia stammered.
"Olivia, say what you need to say, we need to resolve this," Fitz said.
She sighed. "I agree with Fitz. I love you both and appreciate everything you've done to help but I feel like we have to get the chance to be her parents. We agreed to have you help so I think I would like it if your help felt more supportive versus competitive."
Catherine sighed, "I know I'm overbearing and I know I'm trying to live vicariously through you, she's our first grandchild and I just can't help it. I feel like I want her to be with her all day but I'll settle for having her when I can but then you thrust the trip on us, tell us you're leaving for a month and there's no conversation- you're just going."
"Fine, if we agree to let all three of you come for a week in the middle of the trip can we move on?"
Catherine and Maya grinned. "Yes!" they both said.
Fitz looked at Olivia and she nodded.
"Okay but if you agree to come on the trip then you- all three of you have to get in line when it comes to how we schedule you with Cece when we get back. Not one complaint because if Olivia gets the full year off from work then I'll be taking her on more trips and we're taking Cece with us-"
Catherine's mouth fell open.
"-decide now Mom," Fitz said.
Gerry laughed and Catherine slapped his arm.
"Can you keep it at a maximum of two weeks?" Maya asked.
Fitz dropped his head on the counter and sighed.
"Alright, alright," Maya said exasperated.
Catherine walked over to Maya and kissed Cece's hair. "If you didn't want people fighting over her then you shouldn't have had such a perfect baby. You had to fly all the way from Europe to find Olivia," she said then she walked to Olivia and hugged her. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to rob you of motherhood. I'm just an excited grandma."
"Don't apologize," Olivia said. "I'm glad we're all together."
Catherine nodded and walked to Fitz and popped him on the head. "You don't get hugs."
"Ouu-" Fitz growled.
Catherine laughed and walked back to Gerry. "If you insist on going to France then I guess we'll go back to Santa Barbara for that first couple of weeks until we fly out to meet you."
Fitz nodded.
Once they were finished with breakfast Maya handed Cece over to Catherine who kept her for just over 30 minutes until it was time for her first-morning nap. Olivia and Fitz finished getting ready then Fitz began taking their things down to the car. He decided to take the Mercedes Benz G-wagon because it had the most trunk space for Cece's stroller, their bags, and her bathtub.
They left shortly before 12pm, just after she nursed Cece. It took them just a few minutes to get to the interstate highway and Olivia slipped off her sandals and relaxed in her seat.
"How do you feel about agreeing to have our parents come to France?" Olivia asked.
"Not great but I'm tired of having the same conversation over and over again."
"I'm trying to get my mom to go out more. Ideally, she'll find a boyfriend."
"Would she even know what to say to a man who wanted to date her?" Fitz joked.
"Probably not," Olivia said with a chuckle. "But I want that for her."
"So what do you have planned for Saturday?" Fitz asked.
"You always surprise me so I want to surprise you- although it'll never be as good as your surprises."
"I don't really surprise you a lot? Do I?"
"Yes, you do- I'm planning a romantic night for us," Olivia said then her phone chimed with a text from Ariana. She grabbed her phone from her purse and read the text.
"So Ariana wants us to go to dinner then bowling with her tonight- I think I'm up for that."
"What time?" Fitz asked.
Olivia texted her the question and Ariana responded immediately, "7 okay?"
7"."
"8 is better," Fitz said.
Olivia texted the response then locked her phone and continued their talk until about an hour and a half later, they stopped at a Panera Bread for lunch, and when they went back to the car Cece began to fuss so Olivia breastfed her before they headed off again. They got caught in traffic closer to the city and made it to Soho just before 5pm.
Fitz's building was a beautiful white building on the corner of Broadway and Spring Street. There was a Chanel store on the first floor with a separate entrance from the lobby. He pulled up to the street entrance of the lower-level parking garage and pressed his keyfob against the sensor at the gate with an attendant in the booth. Once the gate opened she drove down to his parking spot. He only brought two guards with him and one branched off the check-in at a hotel a few blocks away after dropping the second guard at the garage entrance and he walked in behind them. It was the first time he felt like he didn't need guards. Things were quiet but he knew he couldn't mistake things being quiet with a false sense of safety. Once he parked, he hopped out of the car and stretched, Olivia did the same before Fitz moved around to her side and opened the back seat door to lift out Cece's Doona car seat stroller. It was by far the most convenient stroller they had. It was lightweight and easy to maneuver. Once he pulled out the car seat it opened into a stroller and he pulled the handle forward. Then he went to the trunk and grabbed her diaper bag which was a gift from Ariana. It was a Dior bag with the name Sienna monogrammed on it in blush pink. Fitz threw it over his shoulder and pushed the stroller inside with Olivia while the guard stayed back to carry their bags up to his penthouse apartment.
They made their way to the elevators and he pressed the penthouse elevator button and pressed his keyfob against the sensor for the door to close. They headed up to the condo. It was on the 12th and 13th floors. He had to press the keyfob against the sensor for the door to open on his floor and when he stepped out there were some packages outside his door. He moved the packages from the door and then opened it with his key. Olivia pushed Cece inside and Fitz came in right after her with a large box and a few smaller ones.
Olivia looked around the apartment. The walls were white with plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows. The furniture was dark mahogany and dark blue and the decor was very elegant and masculine. The ceiling was high and there were sleek stairs that led up to the second floor.
"So we have a few hours," Fitz said. "I'm gonna set up this bassinet."
Olivia nodded as took Cece's cooler bag with frozen breastmilk pouches out of the diaper bag and brought them to the freezer then she returned to him. "Can I help with anything? Are you hungry baby?"
He nodded as he began opening the largest box, "Yeah but there's nothing here."
"I can run out and get something," Olivia said as she grabbed her phone to check what places were close by.
"No," Fitz said.
"Why not?" Olivia asked. "There's a great bakery around the corner. I think- oh wait- it's the cronut bakery. I always wanted to try that."
"Let's go then," Fitz said.
"I can go with Cece while you do this. Do you want to look at the menu so I can know what to get you?"
"I'm not letting you go without me so decide if you want it or not," Fitz said.
Olivia chuckled, "I can take a guard. You just drove for almost 5 hours."
"We go together or not at all or we send a guard."
Olivia groaned playfully. "Okay, we can go together. A walk in the city will be nice."
Fitz nodded. He finished pulling open the box before he pulled out the parts to the portable bassinet along with the wooden stand. Once all the parts were out they headed out together with Fitz pushing Cece in the stroller. They headed down to the lobby. It was beautiful and luxurious and from the elevator where they stepped out she could see the inside of the Chanel boutique through the partial glass walls and white sculpted columns.
Sometimes it would randomly hit her how much her life had changed from the overwhelmed, overworked, broke resident she was. Stretching herself thin and rarely if ever sleeping for more than 5 hours at a time. She remembered running from the restaurant to the hospital, working 24 and 36-hour shifts then going to work a busy night at the restaurant and being on autopilot the entire time.
"Livie?" Fitz called.
"Huh?" she answered, snapping out of her daydream.
"I asked if you wanted something from Chanel, you're staring in there-"
"My mind just wandered for a second but yeah, I think it would be nice to have some new things for France."
He chuckled and shook his head as they headed into the store. They shopped around for a few minutes before Olivia picked out a pink sequin flap bag, a pink tweed mini skirt and matching jacket and gold chain belt with little Chanel double 'c' logos hanging off as well as a black sheer maxi dress. She also got a light yellow leather bucket bag and a pink maxi bag.
Their total was just under 50k and Fitz didn't even seem slightly bothered as he pulled out his credit card. He paid and signed the receipt and asked the sales associate to wrap up the items and hold them until they returned from the bakery.
"Thank you, baby," Olivia said as they headed outside.
Fitz nodded and kissed her lips, "Let's go get you your fucking cronut."
"It's a croissant and donut. It's supposed to be really good."
"Okay then let's try it."
He nodded as they continued walking. Cece was awake now, looking up at the roof of her stroller. She had a white bow in her red hair. Her eyes were very blue, bluer than Fitz's Caribbean blue eyes. Hers were closer to electric blue.
They walked only a few blocks to the bakery and picked up a box of cakes and pastries before they returned to Fitz's apartment building. They collected the shopping bags from Chanel before they headed back up to the apartment.
By then, the guard had dropped all their bags and things into the apartment and texted Fitz that he was going back to their hotel to freshen up before they had to escort them out with Ariana in just over an hour.
Fitz sat on the couch and placed the box of treats on the coffee table as well as the Chanel shopping bags. Olivia unstrapped Cece from the car seat stroller and lifted her out. She stretched adorably in her arms and let out a small grunt. Olivia snuggled her closer and kissed her against her soft hair.
"God, I love her so much," Olivia said as she sat on the couch beside Fitz and leaned against him. She ran her hands down Cece's back and snuggled her closer.
Fitz smiled as she watched her then opened the gold pastry box. He took out the cronut from the box and bit a piece of it. His was the lemon yuzu flavor. Olivia watched as he chewed then smiled, "fuck- this is good."
"Yes," Olivia said. She began to stretch to the box but Fitz lifted it and brought it to her. She grabbed the lavender blackberry flavor with lavender-colored icing and tasted it.
"God, it's so good," she said with a grin. "Don't worry Cece, you'll taste it in your breastmilk in a few hours."
Fitz smiled and kissed Cece. "We should start getting ready," Olivia said.
"Let me finish this and set up the bassinet."
Olivia nodded and they continued eating until Fitz finished and got up Cece's bassinet then he showed her around the condo before they went to his bedroom to get dressed.
Two hours later they met Arianna for dinner at Cipriani, sitting at a large table with Ariana and some of her friends. Cece was sleeping in her stroller and had been since they left Fitz's condo.
Olivia laughed as Ariana and Fitz debated animatedly on the details of a story Ariana shared with the table.
They were on the second course, for Olivia that was filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, for Fitz that was the prime rib eye. Ariana had the grilled branzino while her two friends both had pasta. One of her friends was the man she was dating for just over a month, Matt, and the other was her best friend Stassi who was short for Anastassia.
After the 2nd course, they had dessert though Olivia and Fitz abstained since they both had plenty of treats before dinner.
After dinner, they went to a bowling alley at Chelsea Piers and after a few games, they called it a night.
The next morning Fitz woke before Olivia. He had an erection but took care of it himself before he showered and brushed his teeth. Since Olivia was still asleep he dressed quickly and walked 10 minutes away to the Citizens of Soho breakfast cafe where we bought a few take-out options for them before heading back. Olivia was just awake when she heard Cece crying and quickly took her from the bassinet for her feeding. It was later than usual for her, just before 9am. She looked around for Fitz and just before she called out his name he walked into the bedroom with a large blue paper bag.
"I was just looking for you- I just woke up," Olivia said.
Fitz walked to her and kissed her lips softly. "I woke before you so I went out and got us some breakfast." he walked and brought the bag over to the coffee table in front of the sofa. Olivia stood from the bed and walked over to him and sat on the couch.
"Thank you, babe," she said as she leaned over and kissed him again.
He opened the bag and took out all the containers of food. There were many.
"I didn't know what you wanted so I got a few options of what I'm sure you'll like," Fitz said.
Olivia looked through, there was banana bread french toast, avocado toast, a cheddar, and bacon biscuit sandwich as well as poached eggs and salmon. Then there were many smaller containers with sides of home fries, roasted tomatoes, sourdough bread, pulled pork, and sausage. For himself, Fitz got baked eggs with chorizo and roasted peppers and tomatoes as well as BBQ pork with eggs and avocado and potatoes. He figured they could share sides as well.
He opened one of his breakfast plates and began eating. Olivia started on the avocado toast before it oxidized. She could only eat with one hand since her other hand was occupied with propping Cece up as she nursed her.
She took a few bites to hold her appetite until she finished nursing and could eat freely.
"Do you like your food?"
He nodded as he ate, "I've been there a few times while I stayed in New York."
Olivia nodded, "So around what time do you think we'll be back from the apartment?"
"I won't take long, it's in Brooklyn close to Prospect Park."
Olivia gasped, "Does it have a view of the park?"
Fitz nodded. "It's on Prospect Park West."
"I told you how much I loved Prospect Park when I was a kid. I used to go there all the time with my mom," Olivia said. "I'm so excited."
She grabbed her phone when she heard an email notification. She quickly checked and read through it before she turned to Fitz.
"So the lawyer set up an official auction for the patent. The companies that are interested in bidding are Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Roche, Merck, GSK, Lilly, and AstraZeneca. As well as some international companies, a couple from Germany, China, Switzerland, and the UK."
"That sounds very promising," Fitz said.
"She thinks it's gonna be a large bid…I don't know…I'm nervous. I want to hurry up and be done so we can celebrate."
"What's the most a drug patent has sold for?" Fitz asked.
"Billions.." Olivia said. "For the cancer drug Abraxane- that I know of but Sepsis affects more people than cancer does."
"How many?"
"50 million worldwide and the mortality rate is about 25-30%. If this drug works the way it did for that patient and the 15 million people who die yearly from Sepsis don't anymore- that's a good thing- I'd be really happy."
Fitz smiled, "I'm very proud of you. If you didn't like cutting into people's brains so much you could retire."
Olivia chuckled, "yeah. I thought about that. I just want to finish my residency and be board certified. I might work one or two days a week after that."
"You could?"
"Yeah, I'd just schedule all my procedures those days and have the rest of the week to be a mom and your girlfriend," she said with a chuckle.
Fitz nodded before he began eating again. Once Cece was finished nursing Fitz was happy to take her and burp her while Olivia ate her breakfast then went to take a bath and dress for them to drive to Brooklyn to look at her newly owned apartment building.
Once she was dressed they bathed Cece in the kitchen sink then they dressed her and groomed her before they headed down to the parking garage to the car.
It was a quick drive to the Manhattan Bridge then through downtown Brooklyn past the Barclays Center to Park Slope. Once they reached Prospect Park Fitz pulled down the road west of the park and drove until they stopped at a 15-floor building with a concrete exterior in a beige color.
Fitz parked the car and stepped out. Olivia stepped out as well before Fitz took Cece out of her car seat from the back. He wrapped her in a blanket and cradled her.
A man walked out from the lobby in a suit.
"Mr. Grant," the man called as he walked down in a suit jacket and pants. "It's so good to see you. This must be Ms. Pope, the new building owner."
Fitz nodded. The man stretched his hand to Fitz but realized his hands were occupied and turned to Olivia and shook hers.
"Nice to meet you," Olivia said with a smile.
"So this is a 180-unit, 15-floor luxury apartment building. It was built in 1962 and the average rent of the property is $4300."
Olivia raised her eyebrows. She did a quick mental calculation and realized that the property would rake in over 9 million a year in revenue. She wasn't sure how much it costs to pay the building management, doorman, and super along with maintenance and fixtures, electricity, heat, water, garbage disposal, and everything else that came with it but it would still rake in a large profit.
"Can I give you a tour?"
Olivia nodded and they headed off to tour the lobby, laundry room, and fitness center. She toured a few floors then one unoccupied apartment that was currently on the market then they went up to the rooftop terrace and event space that was able to be rented. In the back of the property was a decent-sized pool.
After the tour through the apartment building, they decided to go back to the car where she fed Cece and then pull out her car seat stroller and took a stroll in the park before Olivia urged him to return home because she wanted to begin preparing for their dinner.
Once he reached the condo and pulled into the garage, Olivia hopped out of the car and grabbed her purse.
"I need to go to the store," she said.
Fitz laughed, "Olivia, you couldn't have told me before I pulled into the garage."
"I didn't tell you because I don't want you to come," she said.
"As long as you go with a guard we're fine."
Olivia nodded and smiled and then texted the guard to meet her by the car. They were right behind her and sometimes they were so out of her way she forgot they were around.
"I'll meet him by the car outside," Olivia said as she waited for him to respond.
Fitz opened the car door and stepped outside then met around her side of the car. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close then kissed her lips. Olivia slowly parted her lips and slipped her tongue between his lips to deepen the kiss and enjoyed it a moment before she broke it.
"So when I get back I need you to go up to your room with Cece and not leave until I tell you to come downstairs."
Fitz raised an eyebrow, "Yes ma'am." He kissed her again then broke the kiss when the guard approached.
Fitz spanked her ass playfully before he turned around and opened the back door to Cece and lifted out her car seat then opened it into the stroller.
Olivia leaned over and kissed Cece's chin then kissed Fitz again, "I won't be long."
He nodded and then she left with Josh, the guard. They walked to Whole Foods because it was easier to do so instead of driving and then struggling to find parking. They walked a few blocks until they reached and Olivia walked around dropping things in the trolley as Josh pushed it behind her. After getting all the groceries she stopped by the flower stand and picked out a few bouquets and vases then went to checkout. Josh carried all the bags and once she was on her way back to the apartment she texted Fitz that she was home and that she should stay upstairs in his bedroom. After she texted Fitz, she called Ariana as she walked to the kitchen. Joshed dropped off the bags of food on the kitchen counter before he gestured to Olivia that he was leaving.
"Liv?" Ariana answered.
"Hey Ariana, I just got back so I think that you can come around 6."
"Okay, just give me like a 15-minute notice. I'm close by so it'll only take me about 10 minutes."
"Okay, thanks so much Ariana-"
"-wait don't kick me off the phone yet. I'm bored-"
"I'm sorry," Olivia said with a chuckle. "I have a lot to do and I have to focus."
"Ugh, fine," Ariana said petulantly before she hung up.
Olivia smiled as she placed the phone on the table before she realized Fitz didn't respond to her text. She quickly went upstairs to his large bedroom to check on him and Cece and found him fast asleep on the bed. Cece was in the bassinet while an empty bottle of breastmilk was on the nightstand beside Fitz. She smiled and moved closer to the bed and kissed him softly on the lips before she grabbed the empty bottle and went back to the kitchen. She started by washing her hands and unpacking the groceries and flowers and vases. She first washed and dried the vases then filled them with water before washing and clipping the flowers as well. She took plates, glasses, napkins, and utensils from the kitchen cabinets and set the table for two before she added a small vase of pink and peach, and green Ranunculus flowers. She placed a few candles on the table as well then went back to the kitchen to begin cooking.
She first began with the baked truffle mac and cheese which consisted of truffle butter, shell pasta, sharp aged cheddar, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, and mascarpone cheese. As she prepped the ingredients for the mac and cheese she started on the salad which consisted of different colored red, yellow, orange, and green heirloom tomatoes with slices of fig and whole basil leaves in a balsamic vinaigrette drizzle. She placed that on the table since it could be out of room temp then she moved back to the mac and cheese. After she finished stirring the pasta, cheeses, light cream, and truffle butter together as well as smoked paprika and a few other spices she scooped it into two small ceramic bowls and baked it at low heat. Once she closed the oven her phone dinged and when she checked it was a text from Fitz letting her know he was up with Sienna. She texted back responding and then she moved on to prepping the jumbo scallops by washing and drying them before she seasoned them lightly and left them to sit while she grated garlic and lemon zest together and mixed it with butter, pepper, and cloves then heated a pot on the stove. She put light olive oil to heat then pan-seared the giant scallops one at a time before she put them on a large serving plate. She prepared the sauce and poured it around the scallops then placed it in the warming draw in the oven. She turned down the oven for the mac and cheese as well then headed upstairs to take a very quick shower in the bedroom adjacent to Fitz's then quickly dried off and slipped on the black silk, slouched shoulder, open back floor length dress. She did very light makeup which consisted of concealer, blush, mascara, and lipstick then she headed back downstairs and turned off the oven and warmer. She packed Cece's diaper bag then when she checked her phone she saw that it was 5:45 and Fitz texted her. She texted Ariana that she could come by to pick up Cece then she headed upstairs to Fitz.
He was dressed in a polo shirt and black tailored pants. He wore a silver chain and a platinum ring.
"Mmm," Fitz said when he saw her. "You look good, where are we going?" he pulled her into his arms and stared down into her eyes.
"Thank you and I'm not telling you."
Fitz leaned down and inhaled the smell of her hair before he kissed her . "I smell food in your hair, did you cook?"
"Fuck!" she cursed then groaned. "Ugh- you weren't supposed to know that yet."
He chuckled, "You're the one who came in hair with hair smelling like fucking lemon and garlic."
Olivia rolled her eyes, "ughhh, just meet me downstairs once Ariana picks up Cece." she stormed back to the door.
Fitz laughed again, "Are you seriously mad?"
Olivia didn't answer him and went back downstairs. She took the chilled bottle of Dom Perignon from the fridge and placed it on the counter then took a champagne bucket from the cabinet, filled it with ice then brought it to the table. She brought the food from the oven out to the table as well then as she walked back to the kitchen she heard a quick knock on the door before Josh opened it for Ariana. She walked in and grinned. She was wearing Lululemon leggings and a tank top. Her hair was pulled into a messy bun.
"Fuck, it smells good in here. Did you cook?"
Olivia nodded, still annoyed. "I was trying to surprise Fitz. I wanted to trick him into thinking we were going out to dinner but surprise him with a romantic dinner here but he knows- ugh he always fucking nows. I'm so mad."
Ariana laughed, "Can I see it?"
Olivia nodded and walked her to the dining room that was facing the sunset. There were large windows that allowed light in.
Ariana gasped when she saw it. "You cooked this? You set this whole thing up?"
Olivia nodded and smiled.
"Did you make extra? Those scallops look good- wait-" she said as she walked closer. "Is that mac and cheese?"
"I only made enough for us both?"
"Is that how you treat your future sister-in-law? I'm shocked-" Ariana complained.
They both heard footsteps down the stairs and walked out of the dining room to see Fitz with Cece at the foot of the stairs, "mmmm..it smells great down here."
Ariana smiled and walked to him, "Gimme niece because I can't deal with this treatment."
"Take care of my daughter," Fitz said.
"I'll protect her with my life," Ariana said as she took Cece. "god, she's adorable- she's perfect."
Ariana kissed her hair, "she's seriously giving me baby fever. When I was having sex with Matt last night I accidentally told him to put a baby in me-"
Olivia gasped.
"I know- I'm so embarrassed."
Fitz laughed, "I'd love for Cece to have a cousin but please do it with someone you love and not that d-bag you brought to dinner last night."
Ariana chuckled, "he's good at sex."
"No, he's not."
"Fine, he's not but I'm lonely so he'll have to do and by the way, I can't even believe you're my brother right now. You hate kids- well used to."
Olivia nodded and laughed then grabbed Cece's diaper bag from the counter. "She has three frozen breast milk baggies and everything else she'll need. You can bring her back around 9pm. She'll most likely sleep the entire time and probably take a packet of milk but I gave you more just in case - also do you remember how to heat the milk?"
"Yeah like 2-3 ounces and warm it in hot water- not the microwave."
Olivia nodded, "Thanks so much, Ariana."
Fitz took the bag from Olivia, "I'm gonna help her down and since the car seat is already in my car why don't you just take mine and bring it back."
Ariana nodded in agreement. Fitz headed out with Ariana and walked her to the elevator. Two guards were outside waiting for her and followed them down. "Are you doing okay?" he asked as they were in the elevator.
"Yeah, I am feeling like I'm ready to settle down."
He nodded, "I meant what I said you know, don't just have a kid with anyone, find someone you love because of the way I feel about Olivia- I can't imagine having a kid with someone else. I feel like I love Cece exponentially more because she's from Olivia- it's fucked up to say but it's true."
Ariana nodded, "you need to marry her. She's your person."
"I want to propose to her in a few weeks when we're in France."
Ariana gasped, "Shut up. That's great."
The elevator doors opened when Fitz pressed his keyfob against the sensor and they walked out.
"Yeah, I can't wait anymore. I want her to be my wife the only problem is- she's afraid of marriage because of fucking Herman so there's definitely a chance she'll say no or she'll say yes just to appease me."
"She's not gonna say no."
"Even if she doesn't say no she might say yes even if she doesn't want to, which is just as bad. So I'm thinking I might not be able to propose, I might just have to sit and have a conversation with her to figure out where we stand. She's been doing therapy and she says it's going great but I don't fucking know. "
"Oh please, she's so in love with you, I'm sure she would be ecstatic if you asked her to marry you. I think by now she knows you're nothing like Herman."
Fitz shrugged but didn't have a response.
"Anyways, if I do decide to go through with the proposal I want to fly out some family and some of her friends to celebrate afterward. Don't tell Mom and Dad or Maya, I kind of set it up so they think they're flying out just to see Cece."
"Oh my god, Mom is gonna go ballistic. She's gonna want to plan the whole thing."
Fitz nodded. They approached his car together and he opened the back door and allowed Ariana to put Cece in the car seat and strap her in. She barely woke from her sleep.
"Okay, we'll talk more about this but I want to help plan as much as I can so we can make it special for her," Ariana said.
"That's tentative but okay."
"Well when I come over later I'll pick her brain about marriage," she said.
"No, I think I'm adult enough to figure out if she wants to marry me on my own."
"You involved me so now I'm involved. Plus, we want it to be a surprise, if you ask her then she'll expect it, if I ask she'll think it's girl talk."
"No," Fitz said.
"Shut up, it's done. I'm doing it."
Fitz's phone began to ring in his pocket. He pulled it out quickly and saw that it was Olivia.
"Go now. The food is probably getting cold."
"Don't say anything-" Fitz warned.
"Blah blah blah, go enjoy dinner."
He laughed and handed her his car keys, tired of his little sister's antics. He answered Olivia's call. "Baby I'm coming up now."
"Okay," she said before hanging up.
He headed back to the elevator and then up the apartment. When he walked into the kitchen she was standing by the oven. She closed it.
"The food was getting cold so I rewarmed it quickly."
Fitz smiled and walked to her then took her hand and they both walked to the dining room. He was pleasantly surprised by the sight.
"Wow, this is-," he walked closer. "You cooked all of this?"
Olivia nodded and smiled, "Yes. I wanted it to be a surprise but you're so fucking perceptive-ugh."
"It's a surprise for sure. This looks stunning by the way," he said as she walked back to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her towards him. "I wanted to do something special for you," she said softly.
"Mhmmm…" he said with a smirk as he leaned and kissed her softly. "Thank you," he said as he broke the kiss, "I need to get into those fucking scallops. They look great."
Olivia nodded as they broke the embrace. Fitz pulled out her chair then walked around and sat across from her.
"Wait- tell me what these are?"
"Um," she pointed at the salad, "that heirloom tomato, fig, and basil salad with salt, pepper, and a balsamic drizzle." She pointed to the mac and cheese then scallops. "That's truffle baked mac and cheese and those are garlic, lemon scallops with osetra caviar on top."
"Nice," he said as he grabbed his utensil and cut half of the giant scallop and smothered it in the garlic lemon butter sauce and stuffed it in his mouth, and chewed.
"mmm-fuck," he said as she chewed and swallowed then took the other half of the scallops and caviar. "Oh god-"
Olivia laughed and shook her head. She loved his overly dramatic reactions
"I think I'm getting an erection-"
"-No,"
"-I swear to fucking god," he said as he grabbed his crotch with one hand.
Olivia laughed as she stood and walked around to his side of the table.
"Stay away from me. This is… is sorcery. You're a witch."
"Oh my god! You are so dramatic."
Fitz held up his two index fingers to form a cross. She laughed even harder and stopped beside him. When she looked down at his crotch there was an imprint against his thigh. She smiled and took a few giant scallops and placed it on his dinner plate and drizzled the sauce over it then she leaned down and kissed his lips. "Eat," she said with a smile before she went back to her chair.
He grinned and fixed his hard penis so it wasn't rubbing against the fabric of his pants then scooped out the warm gooey Mac and cheese with a golden crispy top and dropped it beside the scallops. He tasted the creamy mac and cheese. It stretched as she pulled it with his fork and brought it to his lips and chewed.
"God-" he said as he dramatically rolled his eyes back and slumped in the seat.
She smiled and then realized she hadn't yet eaten because she was so fascinated watching his reaction. She took her fork and tasted some of the Mac and cheese. It was delicious and she hadn't cooked in such a long time that she forgot how good she was at it.
She remembered the champagne and stood then pulled it from the ice bucket and popped it open and poured some for Fitz. She poured some for herself. She planned to time herself before she nursed Cece again so there would be no alcohol in her breast milk.
Fitz smiled when he saw her pour champagne for herself.
"I'll probably get drunk on anything over a glass," she said as she took a sip.
Fitz drank more before he began alternating between the scallops and the Mac and cheese. There was so much flavor and spice. The textures were perfect and everything blended together so well. When he realized he was eating too much of the scallops he stopped himself to leave enough for her but Olivia urged him not to. When they finished with the scallops and Mac and cheese they moved on to the heirloom Tomato salad which was divine. The tomatoes were sweet and juicy and perfect with the basil leaves. The figs added a great sweetness as well. Fitz loved the salad and then finished with another glass of champagne before he stood and walked around to Olivia. He took her hand and helped her up then they walked to the living room couch. Olivia pushed him back against the cushions then she climbed on top of him and straddled him then sat on his lap.
Fitz smiled and grabbed her face between his hands and kissed her lips softly. Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned into him. He ran his hands down her back and settled on her ass. He loved feeling her curves under the slippery silk fabric and he squeezed her tight. Olivia deepened the kiss in response. She swirled her tongue around his then sucked it hard and broke the kiss when she felt his erection between her legs, pressed against her crotch.
She dropped the straps of her dress down her arms and allowed the fabric to slip down to her waist. Her breasts were heavy and full and her nipples were hard and throbbing. Her clit now had a heartbeat of its own and she was mad with lust.
Fitz pressed her closer against his body and licked the space between her breasts just slightly before he sucked hard against her skin, intent on leaving a mark. Olivia groaned out in pleasure before biting her lips and grinding her clit against his bulge. If he was intent on driving her crazy then she figured she'd do the same.
She rolled her hips against him once again.
"Fuck," he moaned before he lifted her off his crotch and sat her beside him. He leaned back and took a breath as he ran his hands through his hair and tried to settle himself. Olivia took a breath as well then stood from the sofa and pushed her dress down her body until it pooled around her feet. She had on light blue lace g-string panties and the very last thing she cared about was her c-section scar. She stepped in between his legs and leaned over and kissed him softly.
"Olivia, don't do this right now."
She ignored him and broke the kiss then pulled his polo shirt over his head leaving him bare-chested. Once she removed his shirt she kissed down his muscular torso until she reached his groin then she kneeled between his legs and undid his belt and pants. She pulled out his stiff, thick cock and wrapped both hands around his shaft, and massaged him up and down before she took him into her mouth as she gazed into his eye and never broke contact.
She slowly and sensually moved up and down his length to lubricate him and once his entire cock was dripping with her spit she took him much deeper and heard him choke out a moan in response.
"Fucking suck it harder," he said as he finally broke eye contact and bit his lips.
Olivia did as commanded and began to work his slippery, veiny cock rougher in her mouth, and just moments later he burst in her mouth.
He closed his eyes in ecstasy as she sucked his orgasm out of him. When she was finished she released him and then she felt him reach for her and lift her onto his lap. He was still slightly out of breath as she lay against him. He had a thin sheen of sweat on him but he wrapped his arms around her and held her closer. Her vagina was a hot, wet puddle and she felt frustrated she couldn't get relief.
"Are you still horny?"
She nodded against his chest then sighed frustrated as she pulled her hair behind her ear. "I feel like I'm gonna explode."
"What can I do?"
Olivia leaned up, "anal."
"No- you know we can't do that."
"It's the only thing we can do…if you do it gently it'll be fine," she pleaded.
"Olivia-"
"Please," she said as she kissed his lips and then chin. "Please…please…please." She resorted to begging him to pleasure her. Truly, it was usually six to eight weeks of healing and abstaining from penetrative sex required after her hysterectomy and birth but in her case, her surgery was so traumatic physically, Dr. Fencer thought some extra weeks were required. Still, she was convinced a little bit of anal fucking wouldn't warm her, especially if he only used his tip.
"Olivia, I'm not putting my penis inside your ass or your pussy. I'm not risking anything happening to you."
"It's easy for you to say, you just blew a giant load in my mouth."
"Felt great. I'd do it again," he said.
She gasped and punched his arm.
He laughed and then held her face between his hands, "Just a few more weeks. I really fucking want to but I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you just because we wanted a nut."
"Ugh," she groaned. "Don't be the voice of reason. Remember how annoyed you were the other morning when you were horny."
"We don't even have lube."
"Spit works great. I heard it's water-based."
Fitz smiled and pulled her back against his body. "You tits feel great. They're so fucking…plump and round and perfect."
"Stop torturing me," Olivia said with a smile.
"Fine."
Olivia laughed and nodded in response.
They sat in each other's embrace for some time before Fitz's phone chimed in his pocket. He pulled it out and realized it was after 9pm. Ariana texted him that she was on her way.
"Ariana is on her way," he said.
Olivia leaned up, "sexy time is over."
Fitz pulled her back into a tender kiss before hugging her tightly, "this was a great night. Thank you."
Olivia smiled as she kissed him again. "I love you so much."
"I love you too," he whispered before they got dressed.
He texted Ariana to let her know he saw her message then he went to the dining room with Olivia to clear the table. Olivia didn't bother cleaning up too much since Fitz told her Leona scheduled a maid crew to come in the afternoon after they left for Boston.
When they finished clearing the table there was a knock. Before Fitz could reach the door Josh opened it and Ariana walked in with Cece and her diaper bag. She was screaming and Olivia rushed over immediately and took her.
"Is everything okay?"
Ariana nodded, "she was fine until we were pulling into the garage and an ambulance passed behind us. The noise was loud and she's been crying since."
Olivia nodded as she rocked her and a second later Cece was quiet. Ariana gasped, "I thought we were besties?"
Fitz chuckled as he walked to Olivia and kissed Cece against her hair. "My sweet baby." Olivia smiled, "Thanks so much, Ariana."
"Did you leave any leftovers? That food looked good."
"We didn't and it was," Fitz said with a smirk.
"I'm not talking about Olivia's vagina you d-bag."
Olivia chuckled softly as she coddled Cece. "He stayed far away, don't worry."
"Oh-I forgot you're on time out."
"Don't remind me," Olivia whined.
"-Oh, there's a day concert at Chelsea Piers tomorrow. Can you guys come?"
"I don't think having Cece around really loud noise is good for her," Olivia said.
"We'll stay really far away. Just think about it and if not then we ditch the concert and go shopping, just us girl."
Fitz raised an eyebrow because he realized Ariana was maybe trying to get Olivia alone.
"We might leave early. There's a lot to do before we go to France," Fitz said.
"You know damn well there's nothing to do before you go to France because you have workers and assistants who do it," Ariana fired back.
"Thanks for watching Cece, I really appreciate it," Fitz said.
"Sure," Ariana said. "Oliva, can I get your opinion on something?"
"Of course," Olivia said.
"It's a little bit uncomfortable so you have to leave Fitz. some things a girl's gotta keep between girls."
She watched as he scrunched his nose angrily. Ariana smiled as Fitz drew his index finger across his throat from behind Olivia.
"God, I just feel so unsafe-" Ariana announced.
"Oh no, what's wrong?" Olivia asked.
Fitz's mouth fell open.
"I just mean with my vulnerability," Ariana said then she walked over to the couch. "Bye Fitz," she said as she waved him off.
"Don't fuck around," Fitz mouthed but she ignored him.
Olivia sat on the couch with Cece as Fitz headed upstairs but stopped at the top of the staircase out of view hoping to hear the conversation.
"What's going on, are you okay?"
"Yes and no," Ariana said. "I really want to settle down. I want to find my person. I think I'm gonna break it off with Matt. I'm done with casual sex."
"You think so-"
"Yeah, it's so…casual," Ariana said. "Meaningless, empty and they don't even do me a favor by giving me an orgasm before we're done."
Olivia chuckled, "I haven't been able to be with Fitz for almost three months and it's driving me crazy. Every day I get more and more horny and eventually I think I'm gonna attack him."
Ariana laughed.
"Are you excited for France?"
"So excited," Olivia said. "I'm making sure I visit my gyno before we go. I need to be cleared for sex."
"Ugh, I hate you guys, you're so perfect."
"We're not perfect…perfect for each other maybe," Olivia said blushing.
Cece was sleeping now against Olivia's chest.
"You're literally blushing just thinking about him."
"He's hot. He's literally the most beautiful man I've ever seen or even imagined. Of course I blush."
"See you two are perfect for each other, all you need to do now is get married and live happily ever after with Cece."
"That's the plan," Olivia said. "Only we'll probably add a couple more babies to the equation...way down the line."
Ariana smiled but not too widely to give away her excitement.
"Well, if you know any good guys, set us up. I need to get started working on giving Catherine some grandkids."
Olivia nodded and smiled, "I don't know if I'll ever find someone good enough for you but I'll certainly try."
"Yes," Ariana said as she stood. "Let me get out of here."
"Wait, how's the boutique coming on?" Olivia asked.
Ariana sighed, "I blew through the money."
Olivia gasped.
"Don't make me feel worse but Fitz never actually thought I'd do it."
"Ari, I think you'd be so good at that."
Ariana shrugged, "I'm just one of those people who just aren't meant to be good at stuff."
"Ariana you should really see a therapist, I don't think that is true and I hate that you believe that. I think you might be depressed."
"Are you saying this as a doctor or like a concerned sister?"
"Both, you seem hopeless and you've been this way for a while…since the shooting. You never got psychiatric help, I think you should try."
"I'll think about it but you know…like I said I don't want to have to go to a therapist and lie."
"That's the tricky part but if I can talk to a therapist without lying then so can you."
Ariana nodded. Olivia stood as well and gave her a small hug before she walked her to the door.
"By the way, I'll never forgive you for not saving me any of the damn mac and cheese- it looked so good and those scallops-I'll never forgive you, Olivia" Ariana said dramatically as she walked out.
Olivia laughed and closed the door then headed upstairs to meet Fitz. He was in their bedroom now and had changed out of his clothes into pajama pants. He took Cece and changed her into a fresh diaper and onesie then slipped on her sleepsack while Olivia changed.
Her conversation with Ariana should be enough for him but he still had doubts. He texted Ariana to figure out when she last fed Cece and when she responded that it had been around 2.5 hours, he headed downstairs to heat up the leftover icy breast milk packet in Cece's diaper bag then headed back upstairs with the warm bottle.
When he got back to his bedroom Olivia had washed her face and changed into one of his t-shirts.
"I feel so bad now," Olivia said. "If I didn't have champagne I could nurse her."
Fitz sat on the bed and Olivia crawled beside him.
"We had a good night. She can take a couple bottles until you can nurse again."
Cece began smacking her pouty lips and Fitz quickly slipped the bottle nipple in her mouth. She drank hungrily as usual and drank her bottle dry before Fitz burped her and she fell asleep coddled in his arms. They both fell asleep after he laid her in her bassinet.
