Chapter 16: The Rematch

It got all dark for Mark Russell. He thought to himself "this is it" but he strangely felt neither angry or grief stricken about it. They had tried their best he thought, a valiant effort to avoid the worst and this was the end of the line. Was there anything he regretted? Many things, but none of those where that they did the last days, or what she did. Maybe not for making his relationship with Ilene stronger.

Yet thinking about it, he noticed how he started to feel himself properly, specifically that feeling of holding someone in his arms. It was Ilene Chen. Had they died together? A question that would have been answered with surrounding no after he heard a rumbling around him, something that sounded like stones cracking. Then the dark shadow that had been over them slowly started to get lifted, the darkness disappearing. Letting the colourful lights of the city shine upon them.

Slowly he opened his eyes, having closed them instinctively in response to what happened. He looked ahead, gasping air when witnessing what happened.
There was Madison. Right above was Kongs fist. Madison had blocked the attack, holding the fist pressing against down with all of her strength.

It put an immense amount of strain on her body, trembling more with every second, the legs slightly starting to bend down, the concrete underneath her giving away. With a quick decision she changed her aura form, from the one looking Godzilla to the one like Mothra.

Struggling to keep the skull king off bay, her mind ringing from stress, feeling like she could hear Ghidorah distantly, she uttered a view words: "You…will…not…crush…ME…!"

The wing began folding in on themselves, and with a quick rush unleashing a blue glowing pulse wave towards Kong, knocking him backwards off balance, making him crash into a building. A very short moment of breath for Madison, a moment to look back. Mark looked at her, a bit confused, a bit in shock, but he knew already how this was going to go.

They nodded at each other, mutually knowing this was the only thing that could be done, all other options had been exhausted. Kong propped himself up on a building and growled in a very deep and sinister tone, gnashing with the teeth, the above and below part grinding against each other from sheer anger. Madison turned the attention of the ape towards her waving with her arms as she started to sprint. Kong started following her quickly, the sinister being within his mind having a very personal interest in extinguishing that little runt.

"Need to get him to the harbour, that will cause less damage. Now to run and jump like hell."

With full speed she ran towards the edge and jumped off from the roof to another building, crossing a larger street, there were a view similar height buildings ahead that were close to each other. Letting her senses guide her, feeling as if she was naturally gliding through the air, she had no fear of falling, her powers gave her security.

Landing on the first roof with a lot of uncomfortable force going through her legs, but ignored it, she glanced behind her, the chase was on, Kong started going after her. He was a lot more agile than Godzilla, still due to his massive size could make a full sprint and grabbed onto buildings to push himself forward.

"Just keep running."

Faster then any human could she zipped across the first roof, jumping a smaller gap to the next one, then the same for the next building. Then, a bigger office building was ahead again, roughly 10 meters taller then where she was now. Kongs roars and stomps were right behind her. Part of her mind wanted to look back but that could've been fatal, so she jumped upwards, onto a window and climbing the view meters left upwards, as fast as possible. On the roof, she glanced back. And Kong tried to grab after her.

She ducked, a second making the difference as he swiped after her with his right hand. As he missed, she threw an energy slash with her staff that lit up the area, throwing him into skyscraper across the street.

Staff in hand now, she decided to run further forwards, towards the harbour as he was getting up. A view building downwards. Almost falling over a plastic lawn chair, all her concentration was in just running forward.

A construction site in the way made her swing around like a monkey, for a split second she considered the irony in that but there was little else to think as she heard Kong roar behind her. He blue glowing aura giving away her position easily, he marched onwards, fuelled by hatred, none of his own.

Quickly she had reached the harbour, jumping down into the big street, the concrete under her feet slightly cracking from the impact. It was all empty, some cars here and there, otherwise most people seemed to have either been evacuated or gone into bunkers.
The harbour and the pier wasn't too far away by now, Kong was getting closer, not running, but steadily catching up to her.
She was ready to run there and let Kong trip into the water, yet as she was getting to run there, she spotted something horrific. There were still some people on the pier, a ship was ready to leave, a good couple of dozens of people.

They didn't seem to have noticed her, but did notice the giant ape monster with glowing eyes and sparks that was coming towards them, roaring and pumping his chest.
Despite her intentions she had lured him towards them, and they needed more time to take off. Hearing the cries and scream in the distance, of adults and children alike, Madison felt responsible. She turned to face Kong, ramming her staff into the road. Making her stand, hoping to buy time for anyone left.

She took in an old kickboxing form she head learned, and switched to her Godzilla aura. The sight of that seemed to make the part of Ghidorah that was in Kongs head ravenous, and he started charging towards her on all fours, taking with him signs, cars and buildings that where in his way.

There where 4 large building on each crossroad corner, she had to make her jumps count, time it correctly. A car flew closely past, another one across the street, yet no fear or flinching. Kong was now close enough for an attack, his fur giving off yellow sparks, thunder through his eyes. He reared up to smash both of his fists down onto Madison.

The fists crashing into the middle of the crossroad, going a view meters deep into the concrete, breaking some pipes and cables.
Yet missing his target. Madison had dodged back, standing mere meters before his arms. Their gazes locked, the yellow and blue glow of each combatant clashing with each other.
Madisons hair and eyes lit up blue, within herself, the monsters unleashed.

Jumping upwards and boosting into the air, she hit Kong in the face, feeling her fist clash against the leather skin of his cheek, making him slip with his arms, the face planted into the ground, one arm crashing in the top right building.

Falling onto the left arm, jumping off it as he tried to grab her with it, angrily looking at her, gnashing with the teeth. Madison jumped onto the building in the left corner, landing onto sign in a low squatting position, holding onto it with her hands, feeling more natural doing so.

She yelled "over here!" to mock him, even if he didn't understand the words, whatever mind was there understood their meaning. He threw a fist after her, partially going through the building, she jumped towards the top of the right building. Kong got up, but got hit with an energy slash in the face. Flinching a bit back from, it felt quite similar to getting a surface cut, feeling somewhat of an electrical shock in his brain every time.
Maddie in the meantime jumped up again, landing a hit in the chest, bouncing off, landing on the left building, Kong smashed his fist down, like before she dodge, switching back to the building on the right, throwing an airslash again with her fist, this time on his hand.

The large ape growled angrily at that, his eyes lighting up with fury, as Madison just landed he threw a backhand slap with his left hand after her. Quickly she unleashed a surge of energy, summoning her staff back, clashing it against Kongs hand. First sliding a bit above the floor, before putting her entire strength behind it and pushing back.

She groaned having to hold back so much again, swearing a bit under her breath. Immediately followed by this, Kong threw his right fist down on her. Madison dodged backwards, way further to the wall of a skyscraper behind her, holding onto the surface with her back against the wall.

Kong hit his finger, roaring annoyed at that, but when he looked back up where she had landed, he saw Madison coming right back at him, flying through the air having boosted herself off the wall.

Her being smaller allowed her to be speedier and dodge attack quickly, but also land quick blows that would steadily hit away at him, she wasn't sure if she could be him on her own, but she would at least try to as long as possible. With the staff in the right hand, she leaned he right leg against it used the force to hit him in the left side of the head, the staff amplified her powers so much he was able to stumble a bit black, standing in the middle of the crossroad.

She landed on his shoulder, he noticed her movement, tried to shake her off, instead she jumped onto his had. The adrenalin and every other emotion being so intense now, she started to just wildly beat down on his head with the staff.

Grabbing at his head from the pain, trying to get her off, Kong roared loudly. For split second Madison started to feel bad about her action, she didn't want to hurt Kong like that, especially in front of Jia.
But in the his voice, there was the faint resemblance of him. Which brought back her anger, not directed at Kong, but at him.

"I'm going to beat you out of him, no matter what, give his body back!" She swore to herself, not wanting to let this go on for longer then needed.

Holding the staff above her head, ready to make a big strike down onto Kongs head. Taking a moment too long, the furious titan unleashed another loud roar, triggering the strong static electricity going through his fur.
Hitting her in the lags with a zap.

She yelled out, her legs cramped and spasmed, she grabbed onto it out of instinct, letting the staff drop away, to the street below. A moment more for Kong to finally shake the tiny human that annoyed him off.

Leaning down, shaking his head, Madison fell, unable to hold onto a hair or anything. Falling down the ground, she flew past Kongs face. She knew he was looking at her, it was the same look the hydra gave her in the stadium.

That pure contempt, of daring to defy him. He reached back with hand, and right in the middle of the air he back hand slapped her away with full power, causing sparks and electric strikes to come from the hand. Madison flew across the city, slightly strive a building, before landing at the pier, rolling and tumbling over multiple time, before finally stopping, landing on her side.

Everything hurt, but also the shock of it all, that adrenalin rush kept it from fully settling in. The aura started to slightly fade away, focusing all the energy now on healing quickly.
Nothing was twisted somehow, but there were a couple of cuts, especially at the head a big bruise that bled, the head buzzing, tinnitus setting in again, she coughed up a bit of blood, dropping onto the wooden floor and dropping down in the water below through the cracks.

Instead of getting up immediately, Madison continued to lie on the wooden floor, it felt cold and wet, but it didn't really matter to her. As she lied on her stomach, looking out to the sea, watching the ship with the last people finally got away, getting to an evacuation zone over to one of the other islands.

Breathing out a heavy sight of relieve, there was question coming up where to go from here. Giving up? Not a chance. Winning? Neither really a chance all alone like that yet. Despite the years of isolation on Skull Island, or even perhaps due to that, Kong had grown into a formidable fighter. Possibly unequalled in raw physical strength compared to any Titan.
No wonder they chose, no wonder the one who is many decided to nest himself in and took over that powerful body of.

Kong roared again. Looking behind her, it was clear that it wasn't going to stop until something was done about. Slowly getting up again, holding her side, groaning from the pain, Madison stood stalwart in defiance.
Just as it was before.

The skull king gnashed with the teeth, started to form the hands into fist, and beat on his chest, each beat sounding like lightning striking down, the thunder of an angry demon god echoing across the city and sea as he finished with a roar.

He started to run up, charging at the opponent. Partially knuckle walking, grabbing onto buildings to push himself forward everything in his way got trampled or crumbled to pieces.
Unsure what to do next, she took up a fighting position despite her injuries, hoping to get a good shot in.

Yet uncertainty melted away as there was something behind her, a vibration tingling in the body, a sound so pleasant only for her. A big shadow moving in the water, cutting through the waves like a sword, diving deeper.

Kong used his strength to jump forward, thinking this time there was no way for her to escape, yet as his arms were ready to strike down, something big breached the surface of the water.
A loud roar in last seconds, filled with anger and rage, ready to take back his throne, the King had arrived to save his queen.

A quick charge of energy, lighting up his back to illuminate the are in bright blue, he unleashed the full might of the atomic breath upon Kong, throwing him to the ground and pushing him back into the city against a view buildings.

The king of the monsters returns in his full strength, just in time, as he always does. Maddie smiled, very happy once more to see him. So was Godzilla, to see her still alive, he leaned down to, nuzzling his head very closely, growling when seeing that she was injured.
Gently her hand went along cheek as he moved, the two of them communicating with each other, showing what happened, emotions shared.

Godzilla told her she had to heal, and stand down for a little. While unhappy with it, the desire to fight and keep on going to protect not so easily being supressed, she wasn't so blind from it to realize she needed a minute to recover.

"Just a minute." She told herself.

A roar from the skull king interrupted their quick talk, and Godzilla went back up again, her last message simply being a plead to avoid fighting in the mass of the buildings, and to watch out, for Kong was at his peak strength now.

Godzilla didn't answer back, but noted those things, knowing as well that the fight would be to his advantage in the open, and near the water.
Slowly he stepped out of the water, walking past the pier, making a strong stomp with his tail to gain Kongs attention.

His opponent answered with a bellowing roar and wild throwing of fist against the ground and chest.
A score was going to be settled today, deciding who will be the ruler of the titans.

The one to answer back was also the first to attack, as Kong attacked savage anger, only matched by the kings fury.
Fastening his stand he got jumped, Godzilla grabbed onto Kongs arms, stopping them before they could punch down on him, countering that the titan king bit down on the right shoulder of his opponent, the gigantic teeth carving deep into the skin and flesh and wouldn't let go even when being punch in the head once as the right arm got free from his hands.

That didn't mean it didn't hurt obviously, and a heavy punch to the chest and gut by Kong made Godzilla flinch back from the pain, reacting by turning around and throwing his opponent to the side, making Kong slide on his back a little bit.

Avoiding to give the opponent a chance to get back up, Godzilla charged the on the ground lying Kong, trying to stomp on him, only to be met with a splash of water and other debris that Kong threw in his face, the left hand having been in the water.

While at best an inconvenience it made enough of distraction to have Kong get up, immediately throwing a punch with the might beyond the stars, hitting Godzilla square in the jaw.

If it was any lesser titan, this attack would have removed the jaw from the head, if not pulverize the head into a bloody mess altogether.
Luckily Godzilla was a bit of a though nut to crack, yet even for someone like that it brought extreme pain, making him spin around back to the side, a teeth or two breaking out.

The head experienced immense trauma, Godzilla felt his vision become blurry, the ears ringing, something that hadn't happened in quite some time. With the king back turned to the opponent, Kong tried to use that window of opportunity to attack the back, in their mind they wanted to tear out one of the dorsal plates like grabbing a hold of weeds and ripping them out of the ground.

Intending to pounce down upon the opponent he marched forward with great speed, proceeding to get wiped with the tail to the side, punching out all the air in his lungs and landing into the water of the bay. Godzillas keen senses and his aid gave out early warnings for any attacks that may strike from behind like that. An honourless move, the spirit of the golden demise was truly within the skull king.

With Kong landing in the water, now Godzilla saw a window of opportunity.
While he tried to get back on his feet, feeling quite uncomfortable in the water, Godzilla rushed at him, pushing and shoving him towards the middle with the strength and weight of a mountain coming at full speed.

They proceeded to trade many simple blows with each other, punches and bites, a slap to the face from Godzilla, Kong stumbled back before lashing out, grabbing the head and smashing the fingers into the neck of the opponent, pressing into the gill flaps, causing immense, searing pain.

Growling gurgly from getting the air pressed in, Godzilla slashed at his chest with his claws, the nails carving scars into the skin. Causing blood to slightly drip out. This made Kong let go, but also quickly retaliate by shoulder tackling before putting both hands together and cracking his reptilian foe sideways over the head.

The king took a step back, still getting used to the strength of the hits, they were quite painful and ruthless.
Immediately Kong attempted to repeat the same thing this time putting his fists together above his head, Godzilla haltered him by full force headbutting him in the nose, falling backwards into the water, yet getting a strange sensation around the right hand.

Godzilla assumed he now could gain a massive advantage, lowered himself to try and dive down to attack from the water, acting like a crocodilian ready to perform a deathroll, before getting swatted in the head with a loud metal clang by an oil tanker Kong picked up and started bashing his head in.

First Kong hit him in the side of the head, holding the ship with both hands, then from below, and repeated from the other side, driving Godzilla further back to the land again.

As another hit was about to come in, Godzilla bit down onto the improvised sword, tossed away and shredded to bits before ramming Kong in the stomach head onwards, tackling him to the ground, pushing the head underwater with his foot, trying to potentially drown him. Kong tried to shove the foot of him, grabbed and scratched onto it, but the sheer amount of weight was impossible to move, like an immovable object and the skin around the foot was too hard to wound.

Jia could only see that from a distance, watching the fight go down behind the sky line. She couldn't do anything but hope it was going to work out. She understood the evil within Kong right now was too great to be dealt with in another way really, but seeing him hurt this way, knowing that he is either confused or trying to fight the same things they did but within? Unable to bear the sight, she closed her eyes and sat down on the ground near the edge of the building that was closest towards them
Trying to contact him like the way Madison was able to, yet despite her good intention and will, she didn't have the same connection as Madison and Godzilla, yet that didn't mean the connection they had wasn't strong.
Miki was right beside her, unsure what do either really other then wait. Sitting next down to Jia, trying to bring comfort to the child, joining her attempt to seek him out. Perhaps the events in her youth weren't for none.

Godzilla continued to put his foot down onto the head of his opponent, feeling so much anger he could probably have crushed if this went on for any longer. The minds that dwelled within Kong however, knew all too well that electricity and water don't combine well.

Unleashing a muffled yet angry roar underwater, he fully grabbed onto the leg that restricted him down and a powerful surge of yellow lightning went through the finger tips, unloading into the body of the enemy, causing searing, spasming pain with cramps in the arms and legs and the bay area around becoming full with lighting bolts the spread around a in a wave, shutting out ship and parts of the skyline.

With the force pressing down lessened, Kong shoved Godzilla away from him against the harbour wall, not hesitating a second to give the King of the Monsters a vengeful beatdown.

Leaning into more basic, wild instincts, Kong took his electrically charged fists and punched into the chest and head of his opponent, over and over, swinging the arms wildly from side to side and using the momentum of the movement to empower punch even more.

Feeling cornered, getting frustrated over the sense of pain in the chest and head, Godzilla unleashed a nuclear breath attack point blank upon Kong. The ape got hit square in the face with, pushed down onto his knees.

As the breath stopped, there lingered the smell of burned fur in the air and smoke was coming off Kong, masking his current appearance. He had to prop himself up onto the left knee, touching his face a couple of time against the forehead and brows in rather strange manner, trying to put himself together, unable to comprehend what just happened.

The very brief moment was also used by Godzilla, who shook himself to get dust and dirt off, breathing in through his nose to kind of re-calibrate the mind, trying as well to get the head back onto fighting.
Unable to fully see Kong he gazed upon him confused, puzzled by the strange behavior. In the matter of seconds the scene changed to Kong jumping back at Godzilla, ready to greet him with deep seeded violence.
The atomic breath had done damage but not as much as one would have expected, the fur and skin barely burned, being rather heat resistant. No damage that couldn't heal on its own.

Kong hugged Godzilla round the chest, angrily shoving him back against the wall and out of the water. Godzilla tried to apply his wait down upon Kong, scratching and biting at this his back and tearing a couple of wound in.
The ape made an error, slipped and hit the ground in front of Godzilla, who proceeded to push him down again, this time with the hands, scratching and biting like lion would buffalo.

Yet a strange sensation came over him, feeling pressure in the neck and belly area, feeling the legs getting light. Being extremely confused before realizing what was going on.

Kong had lifted Godzilla up behind his back, with all the strength that he physically could bring up, his, body being fully pushed to the physical extreme. Only able to walk a view steps, before dropping Godzilla upon some buildings.

Godzilla roared angrily as he tore building down with his fall, knowing what the consequences of that would be, and not liking them one bit. Kong wasn't done yet and ran up towards another big building to the side, dragging it down and restrain Godzilla under more rubble.
Massive amounts of dust surrounded Godzilla, making him cough and snort violently, feeling it seep into his scales and eyes, which made them tear a little bit, shaking himself as he tried to push the debris on his chest off.
A deep, breathy, anger fueled roar from Kong blew away all the dust.

The two titans locked eyes, both of them having very tense expression, as a lot of very personal anger and hatred was between the two. Godzilla saw how his opponent was being controlled by his arch enemy, pulling at the apes pride and history, going down to the core of his being. Pulled in some kind of trance, believing to fight for himself when he didn't. Imprisoning in falls thoughts.

Wanting to finally end their conflict that had lasted for far too long, Kong roared and lifted up his arms high in the air, ready to crush the head of his enemy for once and forever.

Godzilla tried to respond by charging an atomic breath, but it wouldn't be quick enough. Yet a bright blue flash still struck down onto Kong, but not from the front, but from the side, throwing him onto the ground.

Hearing the familiar voice of his partner, Godzilla stopped charging the attack, breathing a heavy sigh of relief, finally getting a moment to shake the rest of the debris off. Being motivated to see her well and alive.

Carefully he leaned down towards Madison, standing in a park, having recovered her wounds sufficiently, sprouting the Mothra Wing Aura for better areal control.

The golden demise meanwhile edged Kong to get, to become more brutal and faster, while also torturing the mind of his host just enough.

Motivated by all that he was quick on foot again, being blessed with more strength the brute rushed forward with ravenous fury, drooling from anger.
Madison quickly jumped onto Godzilla shoulder and held on very tightly, as Kong shoulder checked them further into the city.

Originally Madison had desperately wanted to avoid fighting in it but at this point they had to adjust to the enemy. Godzilla agreed with her on that, did multiple small roars and snarls back at Kong, inviting him to hit as hard as he could.

Kong cracked a terrifyingly devilish smile at that, gnashing his teeth as he swung right for the shoulder Madison was on, but with her staff and surge of energy she not only deflected the punch but also jumped onto his arm, running up the shoulder and hitting him the side of the head again, pushing herself up with the staff to hit down on the top of the head, while Godzilla was biting down on the left shoulder, grabbing onto the arms and holding them down tightly, turning around pushing him against a skyscraper.

Madison jumped off the head and used the surface of the building to run up and then shoot down with the staff forward again, landing a big hit that made Kong roar up, making one of his hands able to slip the grasp of Godzilla.

Strangely, there was something, familiar, touching his hand, despite Kong having no memory of it, his eyes moved down and he noticed a power generate. Commanded to he grabbed ahold of it, absorbing the electricity. The fur around his arms started glowing yellow in a spiral like shape, similar to a snake. Maddie was the first to notice. "WATCH OUT!" She yelled, jumping up into the building, holding onto a steal beam hanging out from above with both hands, grasping as hard as they could, feeling the sweat and dust making her slip every so slightly.

Godzilla was too late to react and got hit with a full blast by Kongs punch again, lighting up parts of his body he took a step back, feeling very out of breath afterwards, steam coming off the body, holding onto a nearby building to not collapse again. Kong was ready to trash him down further, but Madison attacked from above and hit down the back and up the head, swinging her staff from side to side, unleashing energy into the body. A loud metallic clang rang through the air as she hit something around the neck area at the back, causing Kong to wildly roar and having a stinging searing pain go through his brain and nervous system. This peaked her interest.

The pain made him a lot more angry, as he tried to shake, scratch or even squash her off from his body, Godzilla charged him to get his partner out of possible danger. So far it had always been close calls but this one seemed too close as she lost sense of direction.
The king swung the mighty body from side to side, hitting the in the chest and belly each time head first, causing the great ape to crash backwards into a building.
With the force of the fall, Madison used it as a means of propulsion, jumping very high and onto Godzilla back. Landing in the middle, next to the greatest dorsal plate and holding onto it.

Kong attempted to tackle his opponent once more from a lowered position, shaking off dust and debris as he ran on all fours, but got met with a claw swipe from the right, then the left, and then two hands reaching from above pushing him down and away. Growling with a hearty throat he threw dirst and dust into the eyes of Godzilla in that lowered position had taken in. Instinctively the eyes of the reptile monster closed, but knowing another possible attack would follow, he used his position to try a spin attack, doing a 180 degree spin from side and the other. Maddie held on as hard as she could, getting pressed onto the hot and rocky feeling plate as it happened.

On the second hit however, Kong managed to grab a hold of the tail and started electrocute him again, yellow sparks going up all the way to the legs, making Godzilla falter a little bit, before getting dragged and pulled to the left, thrown onto more building. Madison fell down as well onto the streets next to, rolling to avoid more injured, feeling little pieces of glass and concrete scratch at her skin, partially getting into her messy hair.
With Godzilla on the ground, Kong jumped up throwing both his fist high in the air together to try and smash the head in of Godzilla. Being met by his atomic breath and getting thrown to the ground, but having learned to ignore the fire and pain and wanted to go right back at it, before another quick atomic breath started flying towards him, the blue bright light almost blinding him every time.

Having getting sense now when it hit however, he blocked the attack by putting both his arms in front of his face, charging them with the powers that he got bestowed. Godzilla started getting out of breath, the beating had taken out quite the energy from him, so did Kong admittedly, but his body was forced to keep going despite it telling him not to, simply shaking off the bit of fire that came from his burning fur he roared at Godzilla, as if he was yelling basically at him to "get back up".
Which he did and shot another, smaller atomic breath, which got deflected by a swing from Kongs right arm.

This was a mere distraction, as Madison had run past him quickly, using the remaining buildings as cover, before jumping at his back again, trying to see whatever she had hit with her staff earlier. Kong knew she was on him, but Godzilla had proceeded to sink his teeth into right forarm of Kong and hold down the other, trying to hold him stable.

Madison saw a device peaking out of the fur. While trying to hold on as hard as possible in this very shaky environment, she shoved the greasy feeling fur out of the way, seeing dried blood covering them too. A big, training ball sized silver dome, with an irregular blinking light at the top was drilled into the flesh, having seared some of it on the edges. Bolts riveted down to hold it in place.

Given its relative position on the body, this was probably used to connect with the spinal cord, connecting and giving over commands from the ORCA clone Apex had made. Also likely where they had injected and kept check of with the Ghidorah DNA, Madison sensed the presence of the dragon strongly there. The irregular blinking and sparks at the bottom showed it had short circuit as the main device was destroyed, probably causing Kong a lot of pain and damage to the mind.

As the two titans wrestled with each other, Kong got a grip of his right hand a again and grabbed onto one of the plates, pulling at it like a child might pull the hair of another. Maddie accidentally hit with her staff, sending a surge of her energy directly into the body.
Causing Kong once more to roar up in immense pain, but becoming violent and trashing around, pushing Godzilla away. Madison ran up and past the shoulder, avoiding getting snapped at by the ape, before landing onto Godzillas shoulder. They kept their distance as Kong seemed to go into a short frenzy around him.

A voice split in three parts screeched in his mind, ripping at itself from the pain, yet drooling at the thought of doing the same ripping to their arch enemy. Trying to mask their memories and thoughts as his, whispering and yelling into the ears at the same time to just destroy and hurt anything in sight.

Yet as the three screeched around, he heard another voice, yet it didn't really outright speak, roar or even growl. It was more soothing humming, that sounded worried. Another voice joined into the humming, sounding more like a complete melody. There was that feeling of a motherly love, feeling very calming, even if it seemed the melody was meant for him originally. Then a third joined them, it felt bigger, bigger then any of the voices he had heard. Yet she was also very kind, trying to pull him away from the 3 screeching and roaring voices.
Yet their when they noticed what was going on the returned with deafening screech to his mind, biting into the flesh of the arms and legs, violently pulling him away from the three voices that were giving him hope.

Madison and Godzilla didn't know exactly what was going on, seeing Kong get into a frenzy, before shortly calming, and then doing the weird motions again of grabbing his head, scratching at it violently this time to cause cracks in the skin from which blood slightly oozed.

Maddie sensed her presence. An idea came up in while reaching out for Godzilla.
"Maybe if we can destroy that device… not we need to go deeper, we need to knock it out of him. A pulse. Yes that could work."

The two knew what had to be done. Maddie hoped they wouldn't kill him. She wasn't religious, but right about now in her mind she gave out a little prayer, simply hoping for the best outcome possible if anything. Holding at the back of Godzilla neck, angled at an almost kneeling position, holding the staff behind here, having the grip held a bit lower.

They started by Godzilla giving out small roars, seemingly almost in a mocking fashion, making an odd sideways head movement, an insult of older times. This catches the attention of Kong, who grunts the most angry he has been, the muscles in the face constraining and tensing up to an unnatural degree and uttered an distorted seething roar.

The two titans clashed together with another one last time, with Kong grabbing onto Godzillas arms and squeezing it as tightly as possible, perhaps almost breaking it, making the king huff deeply.
Kong started repeatedly hitting the side of the chest once more, but resisting the pain inflicted he grabbed onto the fist of Kong, returning the squeezing and in this case actually breaking the fingers, and piercing quite deeply into the flesh with the nails.

As he roared up from the pain Kong threw his opened mouth onto Godzilla upper left arm, biting down extremely hard and mauling the lizard essentially, the pressure of the teeth digging into the skin and below getting bigger with the pain he experienced.

They were pressing and shoving each other around a little more, until Madison struck Kongs head from the side with the staff, making his teeth slide out from Godzillas upper arm. Landing onto the arm that was still holding Godzilla, switching to the aura that matched her partner.
Running up the arm again, onto the shoulder, before latching onto the right ear of Kong and with it pulling the head to the side, exposing the neck.

With zero hesitation Godzilla latched down and pit down with full pressure, getting the jaw to get a proper grip and the teeth to sink in. As Kong raged, the bones in Godzillas forearm started to give away as the pressure became to great.
"NOW!" Madison yelled, letting go of Kong ear, and jumping up into the air, while Godzilla created a pulse, going directly into Kong, directly into the head and spine.

The voice of the golden demise was heard in Kongs higher pitched painful screech, as if it was being exorcized. Indeed Kong in his mind saw it, how the darkness around him lessened, how there was a turquoise light, the three voices returned, trying to urge him to come back to the light and to escape the prison.

Yellow sparks and bolts flew around and away from Kong and went everywhere almost, as the energy tried to escape his body. From the sky to the ground to building and anything in between, in the far distance it might have looked like a genuine thunderstorm.
Even where Mark and the rest of the group stood they struck, with him pulling away Ilene from one, they all took cover as the fight got closer to them.

Madison descended down onto the neck of Kong with her Mothra aura, going back to the device, it sparked more heavily. Lighting bolts came out of it and searched for target, Madison deflected it with the staff.

"No more." She said with a low voice, grabbing onto the device with her ring hand, the left arm with the staff in hand, pulling back while the angle like wings at the back grew larger. With much anger of everything that had happened in the past view days, she thrusted the spear into the device like a spear, completely destroying it and let all the energy within it get unleashed into the body. Godzilla did another pulse. The energy of the two combined and mixed with the lighting.
The Ghidorahn energy within Kong hit a critical point of being expelled. Another combined pulse from the two, the wing of the angle folding in on themselves to go directly into the body.

The entire city got engulfed in a purely white light for a moment, as the all 3 of the titans started to become engulfed in an large pulse explosion. The shockwave was able to be seen from the far distance. People at the evacuation point on one of the island looked to the city in awe as the wind of the attack caught them all.

Mark had adverted his gaze from the scene of the battle, otherwise he might have been blinded. But as soon as he was able to see again he looked, nervously and on edge looking for what happened, hopping with every fibber of his being that she hadn't died.

First there wasn't a lot to see, a big smoke and dust cloud covered the entire area and went through the city. There was an eerie silence everywhere, only faint noises of debris and rubble shifting. All the lights had gone out, yet the morning sun started to get out, pulling its red streeks across the sky, giving a warm, almost bloody illumination to the area.

Then there was finally some shift, the smoke lifted a little, as Godzilla dug himself out of a little bit off rubble, pulling himself up with the right hand on a destroyed building, kneeling. Gently holding something in his left hand he had curled into a ball. Madison lied in there, partially knocked out for a moment until he opened his hand, snapping up from it with a deep breath like from a nightmare, the cold and fresh morning breeze greeting them.

She looked around hastily, trying to see what happened. A chunk of the city laid in ruins, which saddened her slightly, but couldn't keep it on her mind, where was Kong? She didn't have to wait long to find the answer for that, as something stumbled in the smoke in front of them.

It was him, beaten and burned he got himself, up, leaning on up one of his arms, grunting and coughing deeply, brushing off rubble and other debris of his, being on all fours as well.
The two of them instantly went on edge and ready to get back to fighting, unsure whether or not their plan had worked.

Kong turned his gaze to them. Immediately getting up higher again but due to the pain he experienced he limped a bit, same with Godzilla as the two sized each other, while keeping lower position.
The king of skull island gnashing his teeth and giving out an angry growl, seemingly also being ready for another fight.

But then Madison noticed it, the look in his eyes. The yellow had turned darker, not flickering as much anymore, there wasn't this intense hatred anymore that was before. Down in her heart she sensed it too, Kong wasn't fighting anymore because of Ghidorahs possession, but because his instincts told him to protect himself.

Their instinctive roles of alphas and rulers of their domains put the two on edge, now another fight could break lose to decide who was to settle the matter of who would lead from this point on. Several minutes passed that felt extended beyond believe, but at some point Kong eased up again. He didn't care about becoming a king of the titans or anything, and this was also not his island.

All three of them together sighed relieved, Kong sitting down, leaning with his back against a building. Godzilla carefully laid down on his belly, putting Madison down onto the ground in safe space. She sat down on the ground as well, grabbing at her head and going through her hair with her fingers, feeling the sweat on her skin soaking up some of the dust around them, but also noticing a bit of scar and bruises at her forehead thoroughly and utterly exhausted.

But they had done it, it seems this journey finally coming to an end. A little bit of rest was earned. While they took in their breaths, something ran in-between the left overs of their fight, a tiny human was running up to Kong, desperately trying to great him. Jia was running around the building he was leaning himself on, being opposite off the building they had stood upon before.

Miki was right behind her, trying to follow her, the rest of the group took it rather slowly. Mark, Ilene and Abby made their way towards were Godzilla was laying, while the soldier was standing nearby in a free space phoning in for a pick up.

"Jia wait!" Miki called after her out of breath, too worried that she might get injured to remember she couldn't be heard. The Iwi girl ran up a small hill made out of broken up concrete, jumping up on and it and waving towards Kong. It didn't take him long to notice, he turned his head to her, exhausted with little energy to move left, yet still having a warm and exhausted expression he reached out with his hand after her, but felt too weak to move it much. She signed to him "Are you free? Is your heart free darkness?"

Slowly and carefully he lifted his arms, answering: "Small part, still there, I can feel, but I can't hear it." The expression on Jias face was mixed, tearing, from that he was alive, but also what had happened and what it could mean.

Despite it all the DNA that had been infused within had seemingly permanently bound Kong to a part of Ghidorah, but he wouldn't be able to take hold of anything anymore, locked away like he had his victim before.

Miki had finally caught up with her, putting her hand on her shoulder, slightly out of breath.
"Are you okay, is your papa okay?"
Jia nodded, "Yes, we are better now. Thanks for your help."
Miki smiled as she saw the little girl cry from joy and relief. The two hugged each other, being glad it was all over. A loud noise next to them startled them a bit, as Kong was trying to reach out, his fingers right in front of them. Jia came right up to them and hugged them, cuddling up to them like she hadn't in quite a while.

Miki looked how happy Jia looked and thought to herself "Thank you, Madison, Godzilla… and you too," she thought, having a strange feeling she hadn't had in a while not having felt in quite a while, looking up to the morning sky, reminiscing in memories of the youth, long past yet living through the children she was taking care of. Some may leave at some point, but new ones will come and she would go through all of this again, if it meant seeing them smile like Jia did.

Madison meanwhile was still sitting there relaxing, not thinking about much, other then to probably just spend the entire next week sleeping. "Maddie!" She heard a high pitched female voice with a British accent yell after her. Before even turning her head towards the voice she already got jumped by Abby, who hugged her quite wildly and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I thought almost you didn't make it!" "Me too, hey easy, easy haha!"

Mark and Ilene were shortly behind her friend, smiling at seeing them happy. Abby let go as she noticed Madison wanted to get up. "You have stop scaring me like that." He said calmly yet with this slightly humoring tone in his voice that only a father with full confidence in their child could say.

Answering with a gesture rather then words she hugged both Ilene and Mark together, burying her face in them. The sense of achievement and relief they felt together was like none other they had ever experience. Embraced together with Ilene they it almost felt like family, that warm feeling of comfort only they could give.

Mark noticed how Abby stood kinda awkwardly there, and waved her over to them, joining them in their group hug, for a view minutes, taking it all in. A deep and soothing rumble from Godzilla made them let go of each other, but Mark held his hand on Madison shoulder, looking in her hazel brown eyes. Taking it the events of the past days, which felt so much longer.

"You did good Maddie, I'm proud of you and who you are." "Thanks, dad."
As the sun went higher over the mountains, Godzilla started to rise, they all looked upon him as he gazed down on them. He wanted his partner to join him, lowering his hand down for her to get up. She did, climbing up his arm and onto his shoulder as he stood up.

Like a mountain he broke the sunlight and casted a shadow down below, yet none of the people who stood at his feet were afraid. Kong looked up on him, with this looked up respect and curiosity. Godzilla looked to his shoulder Maddie, who nodded to him.
The king of the monsters broke out a victory roar, becoming illuminated from the back by the sun as he announced his title to be of power once more. At his side was his partner, his queen so to speak, holding up the staff, made out of a union of titan and humans, just like she had become.
