As the Thor's Hammer exit out of hyperspace, her engines burst to life, accelerating her towards the space station that's in high orbit of the planet. Her underbelly hanger bay opens, as the tugs from the space station flew towords the Pavel Chekov that's berth in the Thor's hammer. The tugs emits their tractor beam to lock it in place as they smoothly move it out of the bay and into the space station.
Evan Lorne watches the procedure with his wife Captain Toma Nikolaeva on the bridge of the Thor's Hammer when Ronan enter the bridge.
"Ronan, we're home." Lorne says.
"Good." That was the only word Ronan said.
"How was your nap?" Toma ask.
"I didn't sleep," he answered simply. "I was talking to Amelia and my agent."
Captain Lorne raises his eyebrow. "You have an agent?" he asks, genuinely surprised.
"I'm surprise you didn't know Evan." Toma lightly punches her husband shoulder.
"You know me and pop culture." Evan shrugs and continues ask Ronan. "What TV show?"
Ronan glares at them. "Games of Thrones."
"Never heard of it." Evan said as he sat down on his command chair that in the middle of the bridge. In his downtime, he spends time with Toma and their kids, he doesn't have time to watch TV shows. Toma on the other hand, is more into them. As he presses the intercom on his armrest command console, the intercom in the entire ship chirped. "Please be advised, We will be docking in five minutes."
"I've heard the marines battle that thing that I encounter in another dimension." Ronan says.
"Yeah, what was that thing?" Lorne asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't know and I don't want to find out." Ronan answers. "It was terrifying."
The tugs from released their tractor beams as it placed it on the berth, automatically the clamps begins to hold the Pavel Chekov in place. The hatch to the bay open up, allowing the crew of the Pavel Chekov to exit the ship and into the space station.
"That's unlike you to stand down in a fight?" Lorne asks, intrigued by the change in Ronan's demeanor.
"Because I have a wife and a kid on the way." Ronan answers, "I have a lot more to lose now." There's a hint of vulnerability in his voice, a rare glimpse into the emotions that usually remain hidden beneath his gruff exterior.
Toma notices it too and reaches out to squeeze his hand reassuringly. Evan looks at them for a moment, wondering how much has changed since he last saw them, and realizes that perhaps he should tread more lightly.
"Will you be at the state dinner?" Lorne ask.
"No, I will be gating back to Earth." Ronan said, already turning to leave. "to be with Amelia."
Captain Lorne nodded. "Of course." he said as glances at Toma.
Meanwhile, Down on the City of New Atlantis, the lights of the city gleamed like stars on a dark velvet sky, the tree's on the hills wave from the breeze of the wind, it's a beautiful night. The two moons of the planet, one on the west and one on the east, casting their eerie blue light to the city and the manmade lake around the city. The village in the north and the forest in the east, all part of the landscape of the city, just like the space station in stationary around the planet.
In the village, Eldred is in front of the mirror as he adjusted the bow tie. He was one of the elder of the village and he was invited to the state dinner. He was honored to be invited and represent the village in such an occasion. The people of Earth are gracious enough to replace their crumbling house with a new and better one and the nonexisting sewage system that befailed them into a functioning one.
Queen Mara, his adopted daughter approaches him with her son Little John approaches him. She is wearing a blue evening gown, her blond hair cascade down to her waist, and she has a gentle smile on her face. Her son is wearing a black tuxedo, he was a handsome young man, just like his father General John Sheppard. "Eldred, what's taking you so long?"
"Ah, my dear, I just wanted to look my best for the occasion. I don't want to embarrass you and your family." Eldred answered with a smile.
"Nonsense, Eldred," Mara replied with a chuckle. "You're the wisest man in our village. You could never embarrass me." She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Now, let's not keep the others waiting." Little John nodded in agreement, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Besides, I'm sure your presence will only add to the evening's charm."
"Tell me Mara, why choose John Sheppard as your husband when you know that he is betroth to Teyla?" Eldred asked as he walks toward the candlelight thats in the middle of the room, the only source of light in the dimly lit room.
Mara looked surprised at first but then she smiled. "Oh, Eldred, you know very well that I love him for who he is." She pauses for a moment and continues. "My husband is waiting, you're the honorary guest for this occasion."
"Why am I an honorary guest?" Eldred asked with a smile.
"Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if I tell you." Mara teased,
Eldred, dressed in a royal red overcoat with gold buttons lining the front and a sash around his waist, smiled at Mara and Little John. He took a deep breath. "I look ridiculous in this outfit, you know," he joked. "I was never in a Lord Protector court."
"You look fine." Mara assured him with a reassuring smile. "My husband awaits Eldred." She glanced at Little John, who nodded in agreement. "Come, let's not keep them waiting any longer."
Eldred glances at his appearance once more in the mirror, adjusting his coat. He takes a deep breath, clean shaven, smelling faintly of sandalwood, "Ready to be beamed to the city."
Meanwhile, in sickbay onboard the Thor's Hammer, Sargeant Ronald Greer is being checked by ship's doctor as she hovers the dermal regenerator over his arms. After suffering from 3rd degree burns from the plasma grenade explosion, he feels he didn't want to go anywhere but stay in bed. The monitors chirps and beeps softly as the doctor glances at it. Greer looks to his left and see Aucaman is dead asleep as the nurses tend to him, he look to the left and see's Marsden going in out of sleep. He look striaght and see's Lt. Tamara Johansen eating Jello. All of them are wearing white patients' gown, except for Tamara. She is in a black top, sitting on chair.
"How's the food Tamara?" Greer asked between yawns, trying to keep himself awake. "I'm starving."
Tamara smiles and finished the last spoonful of the jello. "It's actually not bad. most of it replicated." she said as she walks up to him with the empty dish. "Hey, you want some? I can ask the nurse." She tries to keep her voice light, not wanting to dwell on the fact that she is in the infirmary, just like him.
Greer nods and manages a weak smile. "Sure, why not? Might as well eat something." He tries to shift his weight a bit, wincing from the pain in his injuries. "Can you tell me how a beam of light from a small device regenerate my skin?"
Tamara chuckles softly. "You mean the dermal regenerator?"
"Yeah,"
Tamara replied as she placed the dish on a nearby table. "You wouldn't understand if I tell you." She patted his hand.
"I'm not stupid," Greer grumbled.
"I didn't say you were," Tamara replied, trying not to laugh. "Besides, who going to take care of my best friends husband."
"Lisa know?" Greer asked, not sure if he should be flattered or offended.
"No, I didn't tell her that you almost got blown up." Tamara replied with a sly smile.
