The Velazquest Family

Chapter 3

Tommy wandered through the aisles of the music store, his ears itching for the sound of new tunes to fill his playlist. As he reached for a CD, his hand collided with another, and he looked up to see Luna Loud, the rocker of the Loud family he had met the other day.

"Hey, sorry about that," Luna said with a smile, her eyes alight with excitement.

"No worries," Tommy replied, returning her smile. "Great minds think alike, right?"

Luna chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Totally! So, what brings you to the music store?"

Tommy's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "I'm on the hunt for some new tunes to rock out to. I've been craving some fresh beats lately."

Luna's grin widened. "Ah, I feel you, dude! Speaking of fresh beats, have you heard the latest from Mick Swagger? That guy is like, the ultimate rock legend."

Tommy's face lit up with recognition. "Of course! Mick Swagger is a total rock icon. His music is legendary."

Tommy and Luna exited the music store an hour later, each clutching a copy of the latest Mick Swagger album. They had such a good time talking that they didn't want their little gathering to end so they continued through the mall—the hub of social life for teenagers in Royal Woods.

As they meandered through the bustling corridors, their conversation seamlessly shifted to their shared passion for music. Luna's animated tales of her diverse musical journey captivated Tommy, and he couldn't help but admire her for her versatility.

"You play every instrument?" Tommy asked, genuine curiosity in his voice.

Luna nodded, a proud grin on her face. "Yeah, man! Guitar, bass, drums, you name it. It's like a musical buffet, and I can't resist trying a bit of everything. What about you?"

A grin tugged at the corners of Tommy's lips. "Same here! I'm into guitars and drums mostly, but I dabble with whatever I can get my hands on. It's like a universal language, you know?"

Luna's eyes lit up with understanding. "Totally! Music brings people together, and playing different instruments is like speaking different dialects of the same language. We should jam sometime!"

Tommy's excitement mirrored Luna's. "Absolutely! It'd be awesome to share some musical vibes. Maybe we can even start a band or something."

Luna chuckled. "Now you're talking, Tommy! Let's make it happen." Luna then snapped her fingers. "You know what, my friends and I have a band already. It's not official or anything but maybe you could audition and see if you'd be a good fit?"

"Will your friends be okay with you bringing in a random dude?" Tommy asked.

"Well, Mazzy might not like it but I'm sure Sam would be okay with it. Sully might want to test you first." Luna explained. "We're kind of new group band wise and we're still trying to figure out what we're gonna do musically."

"Well, I'd be happy to audition if that's what it takes. But I don't want to get in the way of anything you guys have so please make sure it's cool with them before I show up." Tommy said, wanting to not ruffle any feathers before he got a chance to make new friends.

"Of course, bruh. Let me get your digits so that I can text ya once I talk to them." Luna said as she pulled out her phone.

Tommy gave her his number and got her in return. "Thanks. If they're cool with it, I'll definitely think of joining. After all, it's all for fun, right?"

Luna nodded. "If you're not having fun then what's the point. Anyways, do you want to keep hanging out? I don't have to head home till 6pm."

Tommy grinned. "Heck yea, dude. Show me around this mall since I'm still new."

And with that, Luna and Tommy spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out together and getting to know each other better. Their love of music and shared experiences made them an ideal match to be friends. And Tommy couldn't wait until he would be able to make sweet music with her.

Milton's eyes widened in disbelief as he watched the impressive spectacle unfolding before him in the park. A girl with brown hair, around his age, effortlessly juggled six balls and a single hatchet with precision and grace. He couldn't tear his gaze away from the mesmerizing display of skill and coordination.

He remembered meeting the girl briefly before when their families introduced themselves, but he had no idea that she possessed such extraordinary talent. Little did Milton know, Luan Loud regularly honed her performing skills through acts of daring and spectacle, always seeking to push the boundaries of her abilities. Plus she always knew where to go to draw a crowd.

As he observed her graceful movements and the effortless way she manipulated the objects in the air, Milton felt a surge of inspiration and he pulled out his camera and began to record her. Luan noticed him and she gave him a wink and a smile before going through her routine once more. This time, Milton's jaw dropped at her performance. It seemed like having a camera on her was making Luan give it her all and she was a sight to behold. If he wasn't recording her, he wouldn't have believed it either.

When she was done, she was sweating a little bit but otherwise she looked fine and ready to keep going. Milton immediately began to clap and he was joined by the crowd that had surrounded her. But Luan paid them no mind as she approached him.

"Hey, you're Milton, right?" Luan asked as she stopped in front of him.

"Yes. I'm part of the new family that just moved in." He explained then blushed when he realized that he didn't need to tell her that since they had already met.

But Luan just giggled before she pointed at his camera. "While some do record me, that's the first time that a professional shot my performance."

Milton couldn't believe it. "I'm not a pro, honest." He protested with a flustered expression.

"There's no need to be humble, I know a pro from an amatuer since I've dabbled in filmmaking myself. You could say that I'm your comedic female counterpart." Luan smiled. "I could tell at once that you would get me at the best angle and follow me through to the end without skipping a beat. You, my friend, know your trade and it shows."

"Thanks, that's high praise coming from you after that performance you just did." Milton said.

Sitting down on a nearby bench, Milton approached Luan with a mixture of awe and curiosity. "That was incredible, Luan! I had no idea you were so skilled at juggling and performing."

Luan grinned, her eyes sparkling with pride. "Thanks, Milton! Yeah, it's one of my favorite hobbies. Keeps me sharp for my comedy routines."

Milton nodded eagerly, a newfound respect for Luan's talents blossoming within him. "I can imagine. Speaking of comedy, I've always been fascinated by the world of filmmaking and comedy. There's just something magical about bringing laughter and joy to people through storytelling."

Luan's smile widened, a shared passion igniting between them. "Oh, absolutely! Comedy is like a universal language, it has the power to connect people from all walks of life. And filmmaking? It's like painting with light and sound, creating worlds and characters that come to life on the screen."

"What else can you do? Am I right to assume that comedy is just one arrow in your quiver?" Milton asked, genuinely curious to know more about her.

"You'd be right in assuming that." Luan nodded. "I am a comedian, yes, but I am also a performer. I can dance, sing, act, mime, you name and I can probably do it."

"That's impressive. All I can really do is make and edit videos." Milton confessed.

"And that's a useful skill to have." Luan told him with a pat on the back. "While I know how to make and edit videos, I bet there are things that you could teach me."

The two continued to talk about their favorite forms of art and they slowly began to become friends. Luan shared some of her amatuer videos that she filmed and Milton was more than happy to give her some tips. It was the start of a beautiful friendship and one that would lead to many laughs.

As Luis wandered aimlessly through the streets of Royal Woods, a sense of restlessness gnawed at him. He longed for something to break the monotony of his day and ignite the thrill he craved. Little did he know that an unexpected encounter awaited him, one that would stir his senses in ways he never anticipated.

As he passed by the cemetery, a place he often found solace in during moments of introspection, Luis's attention was drawn to a figure standing amidst the gravestones. She was a girl, her presence both haunting and captivating against the backdrop of the quiet cemetery.

Their paths converged in an unexpected collision of fate, and for a brief moment, time seemed to stand still as their eyes met. In that fleeting moment, Luis felt a subtle shift within him as his heart began to beat slightly faster, a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"Sorry," Luis muttered, his voice tinged with a mixture of surprise and intrigue.

The girl offered him a simple nod, her eyes hidden behind her bangs. "No need to apologize. It's not every day you run into someone in a cemetery, huh?"

Luis couldn't help but be drawn to her enigmatic presence, his curiosity piqued by the unexpected encounter. "Yeah, I suppose not. What brings you here?"

The girl's smile widened, a spark of amusement dancing in her eyes. "Just taking a walk and enjoying the quiet. What about you?"

Luis hesitated, unsure of how to articulate the restless energy that had led him to the cemetery. "I... I guess I was looking for something to make me feel alive."

As the words hung in the air between them, Luis felt a sense of vulnerability wash over him. He had never been one to openly express his innermost thoughts and desires, but there was something about the girl's presence that made him feel strangely comfortable.

The girl's gaze softened, a subtle understanding passing between them. "Sometimes, what we seek has a way of finding us. Perhaps you just need to be patient."

"That's the problem." Luis sighed. "I'm terrible at waiting."

Lucy nodded. "I understand. But perhaps there's something that I can do to aid you?" She motioned down the path and smiled. "Care to join me on my walk?"

Seeing her smile made Luis's heart skip a beat and for a moment, he could have sworn he heard the sound of blood rushing to his face. He could feel his cheeks begin to warm slightly but thankfully his jacket partially hid his face. It was then that his heart began to beat faster, if only a bit more. And he knew that he didn't want to end his meeting with Lucy just yet. With a nod, he began to walk beside her so that he could get to know her as well.

As Larry and Charlie frolicked in their front yard, their playful laughter filling the air, their attention was suddenly captured by the sight of two familiar figures approaching. Lana and Lola Loud, the twins from across the street, cruised toward them in their pink toy jeep, their smiles as bright as the afternoon sun.

"Hey, Larry! Hey, Charlie!" Lana called out, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.

Lola chimed in, her excitement palpable. "Wanna play with us? We're going on a fun adventure!"

"Sure!" The twin boys exclaimed as they hurried over to the girls. Larry and Charlie exchanged wide-eyed glances of amazement as they climbed aboard the pink toy jeep, surprised by its ability to accommodate all four of them. With a sense of wonder, Larry couldn't help but voice his curiosity.

"How is this possible?" Larry asked, his voice tinged with awe.

Lana beamed proudly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh, my big brother Lincoln and I souped up our car to make it cooler! We added some extra seats and made a few modifications to fit all our friends." Lana then patted the car's console. "We put in a go-kart engine and a car battery so it can really run if we want it to."

Charlie's eyes lit up with excitement as he leaned forward, eager to learn more. "Wow, that's so cool! How fast can it go?"

"Hold onto your butts because you're gonna see how fast this baby can go!" Lana exclaimed with a mischievous grin, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly.

Larry and Charlie exchanged excited glances, their hearts racing with anticipation. With a burst of energy, the toy jeep roared to life, its wheels spinning as it sped down the sidewalk and onto the road.

The wind whipped through their hair as they zoomed around the block, the thrill of speed and adventure filling the air. Laughter echoed around them as they reveled in the exhilarating sensation of freedom and excitement.

As they rounded each corner with precision and skill, the world became a blur of colors and motion. With Lana at the helm, the toy jeep seemed to take on a life of its own, racing along the streets with unstoppable momentum.

For Larry and Charlie, this impromptu joyride was a thrilling experience unlike any other. It showed them just how fun the twins could be and it made them that much more eager to be friends with them. And as Lana made the last turn, she sped towards her house and slowed down as she pulled into her driveway.

"So, what did you think?" Lana asked, grinning at the twin boys.

"That was awesome!" The boys said in unison.

"Of course it is, Lana did tell you that she improved it." Lola reminded them. "She's a great mechanic and handyman."

"Don't you mean handygirl?" Larry asked.

Both Lana and Lola blushed. "No, Lori says we're not supposed to call her that." Lola said.

"Yea, apparently it's a bad thing." Lana continued.

Confused, the boys shrugged. It didn't matter since they liked the twins. They continued to play and have fun and Lana even showed them what was underneath the hood of her and Lola's toy jeep. All in all, it was the start of a great friendship between the two sets of twins.

Frankie, the young genius with an insatiable curiosity for science, was accustomed to being the one who left others in awe with his inventions and experiments. However, when he met Lisa Loud, the prodigious intellect of the Loud family, he found himself standing in the presence of intellectual brilliance that exceeded even his own expectations.

Intrigued by the prospect of sharing his latest creation, Frankie eagerly presented Lisa with his color-changing blowing bubbles, expecting to witness the familiar look of wonder and admiration. To his surprise, Lisa examined them with a discerning eye, her curiosity piqued but not fully impressed.

Undeterred, Frankie looked at Lisa with a raised eyebrow. "What's the matter, not impressed by a little color-changing bubble action?"

Lisa responded matter-of-factly, "It's a commendable application of fluid dynamics, Frankie, but I prefer more quantifiable and measurable experiments."

Frankie nodded, acknowledging her perspective but secretly determined to leave a lasting impression. In turn, Lisa extended an invitation for Frankie to visit her laboratory. Intrigued, Frankie accepted, not fully grasping the scale of Lisa's scientific prowess.

Upon entering Lisa's bunker, Frankie's jaw dropped in sheer amazement. The bunker was a testament to scientific ingenuity, with cutting-edge equipment, charts, and experiments that stretched the boundaries of conventional understanding.

"You've got a full-blown laboratory down here!" Frankie exclaimed, his eyes wide with awe.

Lisa smirked, enjoying his reaction. "I find it's more efficient to conduct experiments in an environment tailored to scientific precision."

"Now would you like to see a real genius's inventions?" Lisa asked Frankie.

Frankie, still in awe of Lisa's underground laboratory, couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement at the prospect of witnessing Lisa's own inventions. His eyes lit up, and he nodded enthusiastically.

"Absolutely! I'd love to see what a real genius has been working on," Frankie replied, eager to explore the realm of Lisa's creations.

Lisa led Frankie through the meticulously organized laboratory, showcasing various contraptions, devices, and experiments that reflected her scientific prowess. She explained each invention with precision and enthusiasm, detailing the principles of physics, chemistry, and engineering that went into their creation.

As Frankie absorbed the intricate details of Lisa's work, he couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with someone who shared his passion for pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding. The air in the bunker buzzed with intellectual energy, and the two young minds engaged in a spirited exchange of ideas.

Lisa's inventions ranged from advanced robotics to groundbreaking chemical compounds, each designed with a purpose that surpassed mere novelty. Frankie marveled at the complexity and ingenuity of Lisa's creations, recognizing the depth of her scientific acumen.

"Lisa, this is incredible! Your inventions are on a whole other level," Frankie exclaimed, his eyes wide with admiration.

Lisa, while accustomed to her genius, appreciated Frankie's genuine enthusiasm. "Thank you, Frankie. I believe that collaboration and the exchange of ideas are integral to advancing scientific knowledge. Perhaps there's a project we could work on together?"

To Frankie it sounded like Christmas had come early. "You bet! I'd like to work with you, perhaps as your assistant? There's so much I feel like I could learn from you!" He said excitedly.

Lisa took a moment to reflect as she stared at the eagerness on Frankie's face. Due to her high intellect, she found the world dull because nothing could really challenge her. Because of that, she tended to not get excited about things too much. Stoic was the best way to describe her personality. Yet here was a boy, who although not as intelligent as her, was still miles above most adults and perhaps even most scientists. And he wasn't afraid to put his emotions on full display. It made her wonder if perhaps she would benefit from also showing her emotions as openly as Frankie did. It would be an interesting theory to test out as she worked with the young genius.

As Frankie absorbed the magnitude of Lisa's scientific haven, he realized that, in her, he had found a kindred spirit, a fellow explorer of the vast and limitless realms of knowledge. And as they delved into conversations about experiments, hypotheses, and the wonders of science, Frankie discovered that, in Lisa Loud, he had not only met his intellectual match but also a collaborator who could help him improve his knowledge of the world of science.

An hour later, Lisa was wearing a coverall suit that had some German words on the back. Curious, Frankie asked her about it.

"What does that say on your back?" Frankie asked as he zipped up his own coverall. "I can't read German yet."

Lisa smirked. "It says 'If you see me running, try to keep up.' You know, in case something is about to explode."

Frankie stopped. "Can something explode?"

"Of course. This is a laboratory, I have several unstable chemicals here that can and will explode if handled incorrectly. But fret not, we are quite safe here so long as we follow safety protocols." Lisa assured him.

"So why do you have that written on your back?" Frankie asked.

"Because it's humorous." Lisa chuckled.

Frankie nodded. "I suppose it is."

"Come now, I will show you my latest experiment involving..."

As Frankie followed Lisa, he couldn't help but be excited that he met someone who could mentally stimulate him in a way that he'd never experienced before. It was surely a lucky thing when his family moved across the street from the Louds.

End of chapter.
