InuYasha was swiftly darting from one side to the other, inside the Izakaya's kitchen, as he prepared what was being ordered. Jinenji would drop by, from time to time, from behind the noren connecting to the main hall, to ask if there were any specials left, of the ones that were usually served for dinner on Thursdays.

"None. Have you been adding the discount as you've sold them?" The question slipped out a bit more roughly than necessary for the situation. The rhythm in the kitchen was stressful, and Jinenji's method of organization, based on memory, only served to further darken InuYasha's mood.

Thursdays were incredibly busy days in the izakaya, even more when InuYasha's plan was to travel to Tokio that very same weekend. He had left a few things already prepared, so he could drop by in the morning and finish what was pending, while a bit more at ease. The last few days, with Kagome, had been strange. Last weekend had been her turn to travel, yet she hadn't been able to; and since then, they had been very silent. They had called each other daily, yet their conversations seemed to have a constrained flow to them, one inuYasha wasn't sure how to interpret. In fact, he didn't know if it was Kagome the one behind that resistance, or something only he was experiencing.

He decided it wasn't the time to think about that, as the kitchen played its symphony of metal, utensils, ceramic, fire and the well-timed movement of those working inside it.

"Two bowls of ramen, and one serving of tempura carrots." Hikari's voice came from the entrance.

"Incoming," InuYasha replied, mechanically so.

He had gotten used to that tone of voice, and the cheery way that girl, who they had hired a couple of weeks ago, used to address everyone. He found himself surprised, even, at how the girl could fun with them; Jinenji, Osamu, Kazuki and himself, after closing the previous week, despite the heavy workload they had that day.

"InuYasha," he heard Jinenji, once again.

"I told you to add the discount of the note I gave you," he couldn't hide the exasperation in his voice.

"Don't worry, it's not that," Jinenji seemed to be smiling, "someone's come looking for you."

InuYasha's attention left the bowl of ramen he had been preparing, then gestured Osamu, someone who worked at the kitchen with him, to finish it.

"Who is looking for me?"

InuYasha crossed the noren separating his usual workplace from the rest of the izakaya. Jinenji pointed to a place by the door, as he tended to the bar, direction in which InuYasha walked as he dried his hands with the usual cotton cloth he kept with him for that. A moment later, he saw her, with a coat held on one arm, and a suitcase by her side. Behind her, beyond the crystal, he could see the snow falling.

"Hey, you," Kagome greeted him.

InuYasha smiled; tired as he was, his smile still held happiness.

A/N

I've really liked to write this drabble; these InuKag are so alive and almost magnetically linked, that they call to each other, and I just obey.

Thank you for reading, and commenting.
