"Tris, Honey, wake up. Dinner time…" I heard Eric call causing me to roll on my back, his arm across me. "Four will be here soon with dinner…" I nodded groaning. "Give me a minute…" I whispered, sitting up. "Here honey." Eric handed me the glass of water. "Drink." I drank the glass. "How are you feeling now?" "Better, not 100 %, but better…" I confessed. "Well Let's go out and maybe try eating something." I said "You're probably right." Eric helped me to the living room and sat on the couch. "Are you okay?" I looked up. "Yeah, just really cold all of a sudden…" Eric frowned, placing a hand on my head. "Not burning up, that's good." I looked gently at him. "Can you get the blanket please?" I asked. "Yeah of course sweetie." Eric brought over the blankets, laying it over my lap.
Four: Hey man, running a little late, I wanna pick up some dinner. Any special requests?
Eric: Some soup, and hot chocolate with hazelnut coffee creamer for Tris. You know what I like. Thanks Man.
"Four's going to be here soon, with all your faves." Not more than 10 minutes later, there was a knock. "I'll get it." Eric said, opening the door. "Hey, Man. Thanks for coming. Come on in." Four entered and said "Hey Tris, how are you feeling? I know you weren't feeling well yesterday." Eric set everything on the table, as I said "Much better. Thanks." While we ate, Four said "So what's up?" Eric said "We need you to come on board as a leader. Please. We need you." Four said "I can't..." "Why not?" I asked, as we finished. "I'll tell you why, but it cannot leave this room." I looked to Eric, as he looked to me, before we said "We swear." We met Four's eyes. "I was Abnegation before I defected. I defected for two reasons... 1) My divergence... and 2) is due to my father's abuse... I know, its cowardly, and not what we stand for at Dauntless..." Eric said "How long was it going on?" Four said "7 years. It started at 9 years old right up till I defected. That's why I don't want to join leadership..."
Eric looked confused. "Marcus is a leader... You'd have to see him again..." Four nodded. "I can't face him..." I looked to Eric, who said "We need you man, and during the leadership meetings, we'll be right there with you." I said "Eric's Right. In the moment especially during leadership meetings you can squeeze my hand if you get uncomfortable, or need some sort of comfort, and I can squeeze Eric's hand, too. We'll be right there. I promise. We need you on our team." I offered. "I accept..." He said nervously. "Thank you, we'll be right there whenever you need us. We're a family." Four smiled a bit. "Thank you." Four said as his nerves settled. We visited for a while before we went to bed.
In the morning, I woke to Eric gently shaking me. "Hey princess. Time to wake up." I sat up looking around, confused for a moment. "I'm up. I'm up." I said, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "What time is it?" I asked. "A little bit passed 8. We technically don't have to be in the office, till 9." I said "Mkay, good. Give me 10 minutes, to get ready. Do you think we'll have time to grab some breakfast at the café before we head into the office?" Eric said "Even if we didn't, we can always pick up some and bring it into the office." I smiled, before I got dressed in my favorite pair of pants, and tank top. "I'm ready to go."
Jensen: Hey Eric, we have a situation in Abnegation and Amity... Caleb and Joanna called. I want to send Four and Uriah, to Amity, and you and Tris to Abnegation. I don't know all the details, yet of course.
Eric: Yeah, of course, but I want to talk more about the situation, so let me and Tris get some breakfast, and meet you in the office.
Jensen: Of course, man. We just need to have the game plan and our troops sent out before night fall.
Eric: Perfect. Thanks.
Jensen: Hey Uriah, Four meet me in the master office, as soon as possible.
We got breakfast before we finally reached the office. "So, what's the situation?" Four and Uriah came in at this moment. "Wait, What situation?" I asked, as I sat at what was chosen to be my desk. "The factionless, are planning to attack Abnegation and Amity..." "WHAT?!" I shouted. "Tris, Calm down." Eric said towards me. "Alright, so how are we splitting up the troops?" Eric asked. "I want to send 1/3 with you and Tris to Abnegation, 1/3 to Amity with Four and Uriah, and 1/3 will stay here with me. Would that work for you guys?" Eric said "I'm fine with that. Four? Uriah?" Four said "We're good with it."
Once we had the plan, we got ready and hopped on the train. "Eric! We have a situation!" I shouted, I couldn't grip the door to be able to swing up Four reached down and scooped me up into the train. "I got you." He said as he sat me on my feet inside the train. Eric came over, and gently rested his arm around my waist. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm Okay now... Thanks Four." Eric raised an eyebrow. "She was having trouble getting a good grip in order to swing on, since we were running out of road so to speak, I did a scoop movement to get her on." "Thank you." Eric replied before his arm encased my waist. We discussed a plan now that we were on our way, with at least Four and Uriah, before we saw Abnegation come into view. Those of us that were going to Abnegation all got off and started walking into the city. "Tris over here!" Caleb called, as we jogged over to him. "Hey bro. What's up?" I asked. He said "We have a house all set up for you to use while you stay here. It's the safe house where we had hid." I nodded, as Eric said "We're going to split up the watch, half our troops, will guard at night, the rest will be during the day. Lauren, will be taking control of the evening watch." Once we got settled, and everything, Lauren took half the troops to take watch. I sat on the cot, with my head in my hands.
"Tris?" Eric asked as he came over and sat next to me. "Are you Okay?" I said "Yeah... I'm... Okay... The baby is just acting up, and I'm feeling really nauseous." Eric frowned, before picking up a nap sack he brought. "Here's some water, and a granola bar, try eating and drinking. I know it's not much right now..." Eric offered. "Oh Honey, It's fine." I soothed. "Are you sure?" He asked, as I nodded. "It'll be fine till tomorrow." We fell asleep.
