Saiyan Anti-Hero

~July 28th~

"An' dad wonders why the tractor is breaking down all the time." Kali said, her eye twitching as she was leaning against a tree, looking out at her father's farmland as he drove the tractor, but was sleeping at the wheel. "With that idiot at the wheel, even Red Tornado would break apart if he were controlled remotely."

"Kali."

The Saiyan girl looked up and smiled when she saw Krillin coming down from the skies.

"Hey Krillin, what's up?"

"I'd heard you were here on our earth. I was hoping to find your father, have you seen him, or is he at King Kai's planet?" Krillin asked.

"Farmer John? He's right over there." Kali said, pointing to the tractor before her eyes bugged out, and she pulled Krillin out of the way, right before the tractor turned to the side, and stopped at the tree, making a loud popping sound, waking him up. "Dumbass, you nearly ran me and Krillin over with that thing."

"Sorry sweetie, daddy's sorry."

"I'm not a child dad, don't talk to me like I am one."

"Uh, technically you are a child Kali." Krillin said.

"Oh hey Krillin, what's up?" Goku asked.

"I was worried I wouldn't find you."

"Where else would I be?"

"He thought you'd be back at King Kai's planet by now." Kali said.

"But then I heard a rumor you were playing farmer, or something." Krillin said.

"Yeah, believe me I wish I could be training right now, more than anything. But Chichi says I can't go, she's says I'm about to be a grandpa so I have to start acting like a grown up." Goku said.

"Ouch buddy, that might be the toughest demand anybody's ever put on you." Krillin said.

"Not even a wish from Shenron would be able to get you to do that." Kali said.

"I told her that the kid's gonna have Saiyan blood, and we're not really day job kind of people, but now she's gotten even more strict then when Gohan was born, and she won't listen to me." Goku said.

"Well it is her first grandkid, and your first niece or nephew, am I right Kali?" Krillin asked, elbowing her in the arm.

"I'm just as excited about the baby as mom is, but she's taking things way too seriously." Kali said. "To be honest, she's a helicopter parent, who thinks she can get anything she wants just by snapping her fingers, and thinking she deserves it like she's some sort of princess or something."

"Well, your grandpa isn't called the Ox King for nothing Kali." Krillin said. "He was an actual King at one point, so Chichi grew up living a princess lifestyle."

"We have a name for women like that on Earth Alpha, they're called Karen's." Kali stated.

"Yikes, sounds like you don't really like that kind of behavior." Goku said.

"I just think it's behavior a grown ass woman shouldn't have, just because they don't get what they want. Whenever dad wants to do something that benefits more than just the family, such as training to protect the earth, she throws a tantrum like she's a child." Kali said.

"You got a point there." Krillin said.

"Anyways, enough about Chichi." Goku stated. "Think you can drive this thing for me for a while Krillin?"

"I guess." Krillin said, raising a brow.

"I can feel myself getting weaker just riding that thing all day." Goku said hopping off the tractor. "I need to keep training non-stop to find a whole new level. It's the only way I'm ever gonna catch up to Beerus."

"He's been going on about this for the last few days." Kali sighed.

"It's crazy huh? Every year, the gap just keeps growing wider, and wider." Krillin said with a smile.

"What?" Goku asked.

"Back in the day, when we were kids training under Master Roshi, I could at least sorta keep up." Krillin said. "But you kept pulling farther and farther ahead."

"Oh yeah I remember. An' when Master Roshi sent us on that hunt for the rock he marked with that pen, you cheated and stole it from me. But you paid for it in the end since you ate poisoned pufferfish thanks to Launch not knowing what it was." Goku laughed.

"An' look at you now, going toe to toe with Beerus, the guy's an actual God." Krillin smiled.

"Yeah, that is funny, and you're still the same size as back then too." Goku said.

"Goku." Krillin said, sounding offended.

"I didn't say that was bad."

"Who's Launch?" Kali asked.

"Oh, she's someone who used to be a home keeper for Master Roshi, but she's been gone for a while now, actually I haven't seen her since before Vegeta and Nappa first came to Earth. Even before Raditz came to Earth now that I think about it." Goku said.

"Raditz?"

"Oh, my older brother, he's dead and in hell. I'll take you to meet him some time." Goku stated.

"Goku, would you mind slugging me, just once?" Krillin inquired.

"What? You're asking me to punch you?" Goku questioned.

"Are you feeling ill Krillin? Do you have cancer, and you're wanting my dad to end it now?" Kali asked. "Because a Kamehameha at point blank range to the face would be swifter and painless."

"No it's nothing like that." Krillin said. "I just wanna feel exactly how strong your dad has gotten."

"You do know that would hurt a lot, right?"

"Well yeah."

"If you're sure… Give him what he wants dad." Kali sighed, stepping away.

"Okay, then get ready." Goku said, cocking his fist back to punch Krillin in the face.

"Right." Krillin said.

"I can't watch." Kali said, covering her eyes, before opening her fingers. "Maybe just a little."

Goku powered up his fist as much as he could, and embedded it in Krillin's face, sending him flying miles away.

"Oh shit." Kali said, as she and Goku both used Instant Transmission, appearing right where they predicted he was gonna land.

"I got you buddy." Goku said, holding his arms out.

"Dad, you're ten feet off to the right." Kali said, as she jumped up and caught Krillin, resulting in her slamming into the boulder, while cushioning Krillin's landing. "Ow… my back." She wheezed before they both fell to the ground.

~Goku's House an Hour Later~

"Come on, don't squirm." 18 said, applying disinfectant to Krillin's injury, causing him to jump in pain, as they were both sitting on a couple of dinning room chairs. "Hey, I can't treat your wound if you keep jumping like that. What on earth were you thinking when you asked Goku to smack you anyway?"

"Look, it made sense at the time. I wanted to know how strong he'd gotten, and feel it first hand." Krillin said, as 18 applied the disinfectant when he wasn't looking.

"You're clearly feeling it now." 18 said, before she looked to the couch, where Chichi was apply a cold compress to Kali's back. "What's worse is your little stunt injured Kali's back, and she didn't bring any of her home grown Senzu Beans with her from Earth Alpha. You're a hopeless fool you know that right?"

"I'll be fine after a couple days rest lying down." Kali said.

"Man he's strong, and I don't regret it. I only regret getting Kali hurt." Krillin said. "I've kinda been wondering if I was right to give up Martial Arts when I did. But now I've got my closure, and it feels great." He said, before cringing in pain as his spine popped.

"Maybe you should wait to say that, after I'm finished honey." 18 said, applying more disinfectant.

"Oh come on, you're enjoying this."

"I know I'm enjoying it." Kali said. "We'll call this even for that stupid stunt. The only good thing is, I got a Zenkai boost from it."

"Of course you'd say that." Krillin sighed.

"Well she did risk her own health to keep you from getting even more injured then what that punch to the face Goku delivered would have done to you." Chichi said.

"By the way mom, how far along is Videl anyway?" Kali inquired.

"Well, when I asked, she said she was about three months along, and she's just now starting to show through her clothes, so I'd say she's about four months along now." Chichi said.

"Alright, I'm heading out." Kali said, picking herself up with a painful twinge in her back.

"Hold up missy, where do you think you're going?" Chichi asked.

"Bulma invited me out to lunch today." Kali said getting to her feet. "She told me she found someone I might be able to be business partners with for my healthy pastries."

"Oh no, you're not going anywhere young lady." Chichi said.

"Fortunately, that's not your call to make." Kali smiled, before using Instant Transmission to get out of there.

~Tempura Shop~

"She should be here pretty soon." Bulma said, looking at her watch, before Kali appeared next to her, and her guest.

"Hey Bulma, sorry I'm late. Had a bit of an accident with my dad and Krillin." Kali said, before wincing in pain.

"Oh dear, what happened, are you all right?" Bulma asked.

"I'll be fine, just a few days rest and I should be all better." Kali snickered as she sat down. It was comforting for her to see Bulma so worried about her. "So, where's my potential business partner?"

"Unfortunately they canceled on us, saying they found a better product." Bulma said. "I'm sorry, today's just full of bad events happening to you huh?"

"It's fine, I doubt it could have worked out anyway, since I mainly live on Earth Alpha." Kali smiled before wincing and bending forward.

"Here, allow me." A familiar voice said, as a crystal ball floating in the ring of a staff went to her lower back.

"Whis?" Kali questioned, spotting the blue skinned man before her back pain was all gone. "Whoa, that feels amazing, even the knots from the strain of my chest are gone."

"I thought you'd appreciate that." Whis smiled.

"So, what are you doing here Whis?" Kali inquired.

"Whis and I became friends, so we've been having weekly lunches since the whole cruise ship fiasco." Bulma said. "Speaking of lunch, Whis and I have already ordered, go ahead and order yourself something."

"Don't mind if I do." Kali smiled. "Can I get an Ebi Tempura please?"

"Coming right up miss. As for you two, here are your orders." The Tempura Chef smiled, putting the dishes down in front of Whis and Bulma.

"Oooh, alright, here goes." Whis smiled, enjoying how his food looked, before dipping some of it into the Tempura Sauce, and chowing down on it.

"How is it?" Kali asked, before Whis became all wiggly and weird. "I'm gonna take that to say you enjoy it."

"It's delicious." Whis smiled. "My, this is absolutely exquisite. Crispy and crunchy, yet spongy at the same time. It's like a ballet in my mouth."

"You really liked it then." Kali smiled as she was given her dish. "What'd you think of the sauce?"

"The sauce is a work of art, it's like the musical accompaniment that plays to the rhythm of the ballet dancer. You have done magnificently chef." Whis said.

"Uh, thanks." The chef said.

"Let's try the shrimp and vegetable next. Three orders of that please." Bulma said.

"Sure, coming right up." The chef said.

"So Kali, you're a chef yourself right? Tell me how do you make your culinary masterpieces?" Whis asked.

"Oh, well what I do is I just turn the vegetables for my confections into powder, via drying them with Ki, then putting them through a grinder. Then I mix the powder with pure, Monk sweetener for a bit of a fruity taste to blend in and hide the vegetable taste, and from there, I use that in place of sugar for my baking recipes." Kali explained. "I cook more than just pastries, but those are what I love to cook the most."

"How fascinating." Whis smiled.

~Later~

Vegeta sighed as he turned on the tap in his back yard, eagerly accepting the cold liquid splashing down on his neck, before turning his head to drink the water as it poured down.

"Well look who showed up. You're back sooner then expected for once, Vegeta."

Vegeta looked up as he turned the tap off, to see Bulma standing with Kali, both looking like they just had a fun day hanging out.

"Kali? What are you doing here?"

"Just having a day out with Bulma, what about you? Where've you been?" Kali asked.

"None of your business." Vegeta said.

"He's been out training again. He usually comes home looking like this after one of his training sessions." Bulma explained.

"Well his aura certainly feels stronger for sure, but there is one thing he's lacking in his training.

"His strength doesn't really concern me right now." Bulma said. "Vegeta you are a complete mess, you're totally filthy. Whenever you come back from a training binge, you track mud all through the house. It's like you think our living room is a mud wrestling pit." She scolded as Vegeta began walking past her. "Are you listening to me, or am I talking to Kali? Honestly Vegeta, it could be nice if you could make eye contact after being gone so long. Did you forget how to speak or what?"

Vegeta turned back to respond, but his eye landed on Whis, and instantly turned around.

"Whis it's you." Vegeta said.

"He's just now noticing him? I mean I was in pain when I didn't notice him, but Vegeta should be a lot more attentive then me on his surroundings." Kali said.

"Salutations Vegeta, it's been too long." Whis smiled.

"What's going on, why are you here?" Vegeta questioned.

"Who little old me? I simply dropped by to share a meal with Bulma and Kali." Whis smiled.

"With Bulma?" Vegeta asked.

"An' me too, but I guess I don't really matter in this equation." Kali sighed.

"Didn't I tell you? Whis and I have become really good friends. He visits every now and then, and I take him to lunch." Bulma explained.

"Just having lunch with my wife are you?" Vegeta questioned, looking back at Whis.

"Bulma's been introducing me to some of the most sensational cuisines I've ever tasted. Earth seems to have an endless cornucopia of flavors, and cooking techniques. Honestly I'm not sure I'd ever get tired of coming here." Whis explained.

"If it wasn't for our wonderful friendship, you wouldn't have tasted any of those things." Bulma said. "Don't you forget."

"I doubt you'd ever let me." Whis said with a smile. "An' of course I'm grateful."

"If you've been coming here, then why the hell didn't I know?" Vegeta questioned.

"Why are you getting so mad Vegeta?" Bulma questioned.

"I think it's because he's realizing he was unable to sense Whis's energy, just like with Beerus, and that got on his nerves." Kali said.

"What? Vegeta you could at least pretend to be jealous that I was having lunch with Whis." Bulma said.

"Yeah sure fine, whatever babe. Is Beerus here?" Vegeta questioned.

"Lord Beerus, is currently on his home world, enjoying a bit of rest." Whis said.

"Is that so? Then I demand you take me there to see him immediately." Vegeta stated. "I'm going to show that arrogant feline, the true power and might of a Saiyan."

"Okay, he's definitely lost it." Kali said.

"Vegeta." Bulma said, using her sweeter than candy voice, and using her finger to get him to follow her.

"Well… while they're off chatting, why don't we start up our own conversation?" Whis suggested, as Vegeta and Bulma left.

"Yeah sure, what do you wanna talk about?" Kali asked.

"That Kryptonian boy you brought to the party, Superboy I believe his name was. What's your relationship to him?" Whis asked.

"Oh, he's like a brother to me. He and I were both grown in the same research facility, so we've been glued at the hip, ever since we first gained consciousness." Kali explained.

"I see, so it's nothing romantic then?" Whis asked.

"Oh Kai's no, it'd be way to weird. As I said, he's like a brother to me, and I am not interested in an incestuous relationship. Besides, Superboy's got a thing for one of our teammates, and her name is Megan." Kali smiled.

"Oh my, you simply must give me the details on this juicy gossip." Whis smiled.

"Later, I think Bulma's coming back." Kali said.

"Sorry about that you two, lovers spat." Bulma said. "What's say we head in for the dessert I promised?"

"I must confess I am excited for this dessert you've arranged for me Bulma. I admit I have quite the sweet tooth." Whis said.

"Same." Kali smiled.

"Hold on." Vegeta called out to them. "I'm not done with you."

"Give it up Vegeta. Whis clearly isn't interested in chatting it up with you anymore." Kali called back.

"Who the hell are you, actually Whis?" Vegeta questioned. "You're more than just Beerus's servant, aren't you?"

"Oh." Whis began stopping in place and turning to face Vegeta. "Did I neglect to mention? Sorry, yes I am Lord Beerus's teacher as well."

"What?" Kali questioned.

"His… teacher?"

"Wait, come again? You mean like his fighting teacher?" Bulma asked.

"Yes that's right."

"So you're… even stronger than the Destroyer?"

"Oh I don't know about that." Whis laughed.

"Honestly? You're Beerus's teacher?" Vegeta questioned.

"May I be so bold? I'd like to offer you a bit of advice." Whis said. "You've achieved considerable poer, through what I assume is intense physical training. But if you continue to focus on power alone, you'll never defeat Lord Beerus. The most crucial skill you lack is a method for controlling your energy. If you can learn that, I suspect you'll be able to surpass your fellow warrior, who always seems to be one step ahead."

"You mean Kakarot?" Vegeta questioned.

"Unfortunately, it won't be easy to learn that control." Whis smiled, before he turned to walk away. "Bye."

"What are you up to Whis? You're baiting him into something, I can tell." Kali stated.

"My whatever do you mean Kali?" Whis questioned, before they stopped and Vegeta was right in front of them.

"This skill you say I need so badly. Controlling my energy, can you teach me that?" Vegeta demanded. There was a tense moment of silence, before Vegeta fell to one knee and bowed to Whis. "Make me your student please, and I won't let you down."

"Wow, not exactly something you see everyday." Kali said. "The Mighty Saiyan Prince bowing to someone for fighting lessons."

"Would you give your crazy obsession a rest for a minute? I told you, Whis, Kali, and I already have plans." Bulma said.

"I'll train you." Whis said, surprising the accompanying trio. "If you agree to become a destroyer one day, I guess I should have lead with that."

"There's always a catch." Kali chuckled.

"Shall we go you two?" Whis asked.

"Absolutely." Bulma said as they walked past him. "Sorry he's being a bother."

"Oh it's no problem. I'm all for having goals." Whis said.

"Hold on." Vegeta shouted, stopping them again. "What if I said I could feed you the most delicious cuisine on earth? Think that might change your answer?"

"Hold on Vegeta, before you go making a fool of yourself… Whis aside from the Tempura Shack, we just came from, where else has Bulma taken you?"

"Let's see, aside from the Tempura, there was the eel, the food cart, beef stir-fry, a soft shell crab soup, and a rather wonderful meal as part of a tea ceremony, why?"

"Vegeta, can you think of anything Bulma might not want anyone to know about, food wise?" Kali questioned.

"Hey." Bulma complained.

"Hmm… Let me see… Ah-ha. I know just the dish. It's something so delicious, Bulma can't go one week without it." Vegeta said.

A short while later, with a table set up, and two paper bowls out on the surface, the timer went off, and Vegeta removed the bowls being used for lids, revealing the instant ramen covers underneath.

"Enjoy." Vegeta said, pushing one to Whis, and one to Kali.

"Alright I get why Whis gets one, but why make a bowl for me?" Kali inquired.

"I thought you might enjoy it since I'm not sure your earth has Instant Ramen." Vegeta said.

"We do actually. But I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Thanks for the food." Kali smiled, chowing down on it.

"Oh my it's delicious." Whis said.

"So, you'll make me your student then?" Vegeta inquired.

"I will indeed. So long as you promise to pay Kali back for her kindness. She is the one who made this opportunity possible for you after all." Whis said.

"I can live with that." Vegeta said. "Kali, to repay you for your help, if you need my help with anything, all you need do, is call upon me."

"Well, I wasn't expecting that. Thanks Vegeta." Kali smiled.

~Later~

"Well, we must be off now. Take care you two." Whis said, with Vegeta behind him, wearing new armor, and a giant carrier filled with instant ramen.

"Vegeta, remember to take care of yourself up there." Bulma said.

"No need to worry woman. I'll be just fine."

"Oh and Kali, about that favor Bulma asked of me…" Whis said stepping up to the Saiyan girl.

"What favor?" Kali asked.

"Just wait." Bulma said.

Whis held his staff over Kali's head, before a ring of light traveled up and down Kali several times. When the ring finished, Kali realized she felt much better, and she wasn't craving any Venom anymore.

"What did you just do?" Kali asked.

"I just removed all traces of Venom from your system, and any lingering effects it may have had on you. Bulma had explained to me how your tail had grown back, and I was most troubled to hear about it myself. So she had asked me to help you with the addiction you'd developed just from a single use. An' I was more than happy to do so." Whis explained.

"Hold on, what happened to cause her tail to return?" Vegeta questioned.

"It happened during her first official mission on her team." Bulma said. "Don't worry, I'm sure if you ask, Whis will explain it to you."

"I'll explain the details on the way home. Shall we?" Whis questioned.

"Sure, of course." Vegeta said.

Grabbing onto Whis's shoulder, Vegeta kept looking at Kali, wondering what they could have been talking about, before he and Whis took off.

"Have fun training." Bulma called out. "Now all that's left to do is go have some sweet treats. Come on, I've got some strawberry ice cream in the freezer."

"You sure you're alright with this?" Kali asked. "I mean, you just asked Whis to help me get over an addiction."

"I'm sure. You're an important friend Kali. An' Vegeta may not look it, but he was concerned about you, when we wouldn't tell him how your tail returned."

"I noticed." Kali chuckled.

"Also, while you went to the bathroom during lunch, I had a little talk with Whis."

"What about?"

"Well, I told him your concerns about the future, and how you were worried you weren't gonna be able to have children as a clone. So, after you got back, he did a little investigating of his own, and you have a clean bill of health."

"Meaning?"

"You'll be able to have as many kids as you want, when you're ready for motherhood."

"That's great. Megan will be stoked about that as well."

"That's Miss Martian, right?"

"Yep. She's the only other girl on the team." Kali smiled.

"So, when are you thinking of heading back now that you're clear of any possible Venom addictions?" Bulma questioned.

"A couple days. Not doubt Batman figured out that part of why I left, and that's why he didn't try to stop me." Kali stated. "I just hope Superboy has been doing okay while I've been away."

~Meanwhile~

"Are you alright Vegeta?" Whis questioned, as he could feel the tension in the Saiyan Prince's hand.

As they were flying through space, Whis had just finished his explanation to Vegeta on how Kali's tail grew back, and why she was there on Earth Omega. Needless to say, Vegeta was not pleased.

"Whis… If I can introduce you to another of Bulma's culinary guilty pleasures, would you be able to find this Bane, and bring him to Beerus's planet for me to destroy?" Vegeta questioned.

"No need to tempt me. I'd planned on finding him myself. For a mortal to inflict such mental and emotional trauma to a deity… I wouldn't be a proper angel if I just did nothing about it, now would I?" Whis questioned, a gleam of darkness in his eye.
