Saiyan Anti-Hero
~August 3rd Earth Alpha~
Things were looking peaceful in Metropolis, as the city was all a hustle and bustle with its usual traffic. Unfortunately the bridge wasn't very stable, and that caused a big problem as two of the load bearing support wires, were snapped, and a bus driver, with a bus full of students, quickly hit the breaks, and lost control of the bus, causing a major accident that resulted in being sent through the edge of the bridge before it stopped, teetering on the edge of falling down.
As the panic on the bridge went on, a sonic boom echoed through the air, and the cause of the sound barrier being broken, was Superman as he flew along the surface of the water, and went under the bridge. Using his immense strength, and heat vision, Superman began to weld the bridge, back together while keeping it steady and stable.
Overhead, on one end of the bridge, Superboy was being flown in by Kali, as she'd returned from her trip to Earth Omega, that morning, and thought it best to help Superboy after hearing he was coming to Metropolis.
"I still don't see why it was necessary for you to tag along." Superboy said.
"Trust me, you'll be glad I did." Kali said. "Tuck and roll. I'll handle the bus you take care of the other cars about to fall over the edge."
"On it." Superboy confirmed, before Kali dropped him, and he rolled on the surface of the road, hopping back to his feet as he kept the momentum while running.
Flying through the air, Kali smiled and winked at the kids on the bus, letting them know it was gonna be all right, before she went to the underside on the front of the bus, and went Super Saiyan, as she pushed it up, and pushed it back along the bridge before it was a safe distance from the hole it made.
"Well done you two." Superman said, coming back up from under the bridge. "You worked tactfully, never missing a beat, and saved lives without risking collateral damage."
"Thanks Superman." Kali said, undoing Super Saiyan.
"You've unlocked Super Saiyan?" Superman asked.
"Well, after my initial transformation into a deity, I first was transformed, by force, into a Super Saiyan, and I just used that feeling as a medium to be able to trigger the transformation on my own. Now I'm learning how to go Super Saiyan2." Kali explained.
"Impressive." Superman said.
"What about me?" Superboy inquired.
"You were just as tactful as Kali. You handled the situation quite well, and you even followed her orders clearly to the T." Superman said. "But your style could still use a little work."
"Well… maybe you could help me with that?" Superboy asked.
"Batman's got that covered." Superman said.
"Of course he does but…"
"Superman." He interrupted Superboy as his communicator went off. "Arrow, slow down, what's attacking…? No I'm definitely available, coordinates? Acknowledged, on my way." He said. "Sorry, Superboy, duty calls. Kali, think you can get your father to our earth? We might need his help on this."
"I'll see what I can do." Kali sighed, before Superman flew off.
~Mount Justice: A Few Hours Later~
Everything was calm and joyful at Mount Justice HQ, as Aqualad and Kid Flash were playing a game of air hockey on a holographic table, with Kid Flash kicking Aqualad's butt.
"Recognized, Superboy C04." The Zeta Tube's A.I said.
"Hi Superboy, how was Metropolis?" Megan questioned, as he walked through the table.
"It was fine." Superboy said.
"Where's Kali?" Aqualad asked.
"Maybe she got scared and ran away?" Kid Flash mocked.
"Man, that was one tough opponent."
The rest of the team looked to who had spoken up, and saw Goku, being supported by Kali, walking into the training room with Black Canary and Manhunter.
"Ready for training everyone?" Black Canary asked.
"Black Canary, Uncle J'onn." Megan smiled running up and giving her uncle a hug.
"M'gann, I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd see how you are adjusting." J'onn said.
"That excuse only works in an actual neighborhood Manhunter." Kali smirked, giving Goku a Senzu Bean.
"A few bumps, but I'm learning." Megan said.
"That's all I can ask."
"Superboy." Goku called to him as the clone began to leave. "Not so fast, you're not going anywhere, not until you're done training that is."
"While Goku is handling Superboy and Kali's training, the rest of you are with me." Black Canary said, removing her jacket, wincing at the pain of her arm.
"Need a Senzu Bean?" Kali inquired.
"I'll be fine without it. The pain reminds me I'm still alive." Black Canary smiled.
"How come we don't get to train with the Saiyan? I wanna see how his tech works." Wally stated.
"Goku, doesn't have any technology he uses in combat. It's all natural Ki energy." Black Canary said. "As for why, well you're not a Kryptonian, or a Saiyan, now are you?"
"No." Kid Flash said. "But I still think all they're doing is using highly advanced tech."
"Alright you two, come with me." Goku said, taking them to the opposite side of the training room.
"So, what's our first lesson gonna be?" Superboy inquired.
"I'm gonna teach you how to fly." Goku smiled.
"Excuse me?" Superboy asked.
"The flying technique dad and I use, isn't excluded to Saiyans alone. Any living creature with Ki, can use it to their advantage. How fast they go, greatly depends how skilled they are at using it." Kali explained. "An' you Superboy, just so happen to have Ki."
"Alright, so first thing is, you gotta learn how to circulate the Ki through your body." Goku said.
"Alright, what do we do first?" Superboy questioned.
"Well, I've never had to teach anyone about Ki Control, so how do I do this?" Goku questioned.
"I can take care of that part, easy dad." Kali smiled. "Superboy I need you to sit down and crisscross your legs."
"Okay…" Superboy said hesitantly.
"That's it, now I'm gonna need you to do as I say exactly. This is how Gohan taught Videl, so I'm gonna teach you the same way." Kali said, taking the same sitting position across from him.
"So how do we begin?" Superboy questioned.
"Quiet your mind and relax." Kali stated holding up her hands. "When you're ready, start slowly drawing out your energy from within. If you start feeling a sort of, electrical current sensation inside you body, that means it's working." She explained, creating a ball of energy between her hands.
Superboy looked at the ball of energy, before he closed his own eyes, and began focusing on trying to bring out the energy within him, he almost had it before a loud blaring sound echoed through the cave, and he turned to see Kid Flash on his back after failing to win a fight against Black Canary.
"Sorry, KF hit on teacher and got served." Robin apologized, before a giant holographic screen came on, with Batman's face on it.
"Batman to the cave." The bat said. "Five hours ago, a new menace attacked Green Arrow and Black Canary. The attacker was capable of studying and duplicating the powers and abilities of its opponents. It was even able to copy the power of a Saiyan. Arrow called in reinforcements, which nearly proved disastrous, as our foe gained more and more power, with each new combatant."
"Whoa, one guy with the powers of the entire league?" KF questioned.
"It was a tough battle. It forced me into going Super Saiyan3 to defeat it." Goku said.
"In the end, it took nine Leaguers four hours to defeat and dismantle the android." Batman continued.
"Which I didn't really feel right about. My best friend's wife is an android. So it felt off for me to do that. I hadn't had to fight that hard against an android since I fought against Cell." Goku said.
"An android? Who made it, TO Morrow?" Robin questioned.
"Good guess, Robin. But Red Tornado doesn't think so." Batman said.
"That technology bears the signature of Professor Ivo." J'onn said.
"Ivo? But Ivo's dead." Aqualad said.
"So we all thought." Black Canary stated. "Or hoped."
"To make sure this threat is permanently neutralized, we're sending its parts in two separate trucks, to two separate Star Labs locations in Boston and New York for immediate evaluation." Batman said. "Every precaution is being taken. We'll have four additional decoy trucks as a precaution in case Ivo, or anyone, tries to recover the remains. You will split into undercover teams, to safe guard the two real trucks."
"Yes, road trip." Kid Flash said.
"There's a bit of a problem there bats." Goku said. "If only two trucks are being safeguarded, then it'll be clear something is up, by whoever is using this Ivo guy's work. Let's just be grateful it isn't Dr. Gero, otherwise Amazo would be the least of our concerns."
"Your concern is valid Goku, but I believe this is the right course of action." Batman stated.
"So now we take out your trash?" Superboy questioned.
"You had something better to do?" Batman inquired.
"Yeah, learning Ki Control so I could compensate for my missing abilities, such as flying." Superboy stated.
"Superboy calm down, this is actually a good reprieve. Learning to Control your Ki in the field is good training. If you were close before, which I could sense you were, then this will be good for learning to control it, without having to think about it." Kali said.
"She's right, eventually your Ki control should be so good, you won't even realize you're constantly doing it." Goku added.
"Coordinates received Batman, on our way." Kali stated, taking out her pocket computer. "C'mon Superboy, I've got a new suit I wanna try out, and Black Canary helped me put it together."
"How many outfits do you need?" He questioned, following Kali.
"As many as it takes to find the right one." Kali smiled.
"I'll stay behind in case I'm needed, but I have to get back to my earth soon, Chichi's probably gonna be mad at me for being gone so long." Goku explained.
"Thanks Goku. But I'm sure the children can handle this on their own." Batman said. "Batman out." With that, the video feed was cut, and Goku was standing with Black Canary and J'onn.
"So… anybody seen any good movies lately?" Goku asked, trying to break the ice.
~Later~
"Everybody clear on the plan?" Kali questioned.
All six members of the team, were hidden amongst the shrubbery behind the field Amazo was being loaded into. Each of them, had mounted a motor bike to be able to tail their respected trucks, without being conspicuous. Kali was on the same team as Robin and Superboy, while Megan, Aqualad, and KF were on the second team.
"We're all brought up to speed." KF said.
"You seem a bit more, tolerable KF." Kali said.
"After a bit of a 'chat' with the big guy in blue, I had a bit of a, change of heart."
"Good to know." Kali said. "Alright everyone, the trucks are moving, let's go."
Separating into their groups, the young heroes followed the two actual trucks, filled with Amazo's dismantled parts. While they were on the road, Robin chose to start up a conversation with Kali and Superboy.
"Is dislike, is the opposite of like, is disaster the opposite of aster?" The boy wonder questioned. "See, instead of things going wrong, they go right."
"Where the hell do you come up with this stuff?" Kali questioned as Superboy remained silent.
"Well clearly, he's not feeling the aster." Robin said. "What's wrong SB?"
"It's my Ki control lessons. I've been wanting to find a way to make up for my lack of Kryptonian powers for a while now, and Batman decides to interrupt with this mission."
"Calm down Superboy." Kali said. "Ki control doesn't exactly happen overnight. In fact when Videl was learning it, she didn't actually gain a full grip on it until several day after Gohan started teaching her. I know patience isn't your strong suit, but you can't let this set back get to you."
"Watch out." Robin called out, before several black and green robotic monkeys came flying from behind them, and latched onto the truck.
"Kali, Robin, Superboy, our truck is being attacked." Aqualad's voice echoed in their helmets.
"Kinda figured." Robin said.
"The same thing is happening with our truck." Kali stated.
"I. Hate. Monkeys." Superboy growled.
"Ahem." Kali coughed. "Hello?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean…"
"Let's just get the mission over with." Kali stated, hopping off her bike and flying towards the robotic monkey covered truck.
"She's mad at you this time." Robin smirked, switching his bike into battle mode.
"Shut up." Superboy said, hopping off his bike, and jumping onto the truck.
Using her Ki blasts, Kali destroyed the every monkey that came at her while making sure the truck driver was left alone, but unfortunately, some had managed to make their way into the truck, while Superboy and Robin fought off their share. Unfortunately, when Superboy jumped from his bike, it crashed into Robin's, resulting in the boy wonder being forced to leave his bike.
Unfortunately, the monkeys were far more persistent and resilient, then they seemed, and they even managed to hit Superboy in the eyes, before they began to fly off and carry him away.
"Superboy." Kali called out, trying to fly to help him, but was hit with a laser that knocked her back onto the truck. "Robin, who's side are you on?" She questioned, as the weaponized back half of Robin's bike fired at her.
"It's not me. The monkey's hacked the weapons system." Robin stated.
Before Kali could rebuttal, the truck jerked hard to the left, as the tires were destroyed by the monkeys, before it fell to its side.
With the duo of young heroes dazed, the monkeys were able to make their escape, with the Amazo parts, but one of them seemed to stop at Kali momentarily, and dropped something in front of her, before flying away, as she picked herself up.
"Everybody okay?" Robin inquired.
"I'm fine." Superboy said, landing in front of them, his sight having returned to him.
"I'll be good. But one of those things dropped something." Kali said.
"You think it fell off?" Robin asked as Superboy helped Kali up.
"No, I don't think it did." She said, holding up a small hourglass shaped piece of metal. When turned on its side, Kali, Superboy, and Robin, could plainly see two red R's on the surface.
"RR?" Superboy questioned.
"I remember seeing something like this, on 18's old jacket from her days in the Cell Games when Krillin was telling me the story about it." Kali said. "This, is the emblem for the Red Ribbon Army. I'm not familiar with all the details on the Cell Games, but it was pretty intense, according to those who've told me about it."
"Why would one of the monkey's drop that in front of you?"
"Someone knows I'm related to Goku. As a kid, he took down the entire Red Ribbon Army, all by himself. Dr. Gero created four androids meant to destroy him, all of which took years of work. It took so long, Gohan was ten by the time the plan of attack was executed. In fact, Dr. Gero was so twisted, Android 16, was built, using the reanimated corpse of his own son. While 17 and 18, were a pair of kidnapped orphans he turned into living weapons."
"That is just wrong." Superboy said.
"But that only accounts for three, what about the fourth?" Robin asked.
"That android, well let's just say he took longer to create. Somehow, Dr. Gero managed to figure out a way, to combine the cells of Earth Omega's greatest fighters, and grow them into a biological android. That android came from the future when he'd matured, and four years after his arrival, Perfect Cell was created. Gohan ended up defeating him, but this doesn't make any sense. Ivo isn't even from the same earth as Gero, so how would he have this emblem."
"You're right, that doesn't make sense. But let's worry about that, when we find Dr. Ivo." Robin stated, one of the robotic monkeys slung over his shoulder. "Thankfully, I figured out how the monkeys knew which trucks to attack. Amazo's parts have GPS, they can track the signal, which means I can track them, with the monkey I have right here."
"We find the parts, we find Ivo, and we find out why he's got something connecting him to the Red Ribbon Army." Kali said.
"Looks like both sets of parts are converging on… Gotham City." Robin said, gaining a concerned look on his face.
"Aqualad, did you hear that?" Kali asked.
"We heard it all. An' with the location being that far south, M'gann and I won't be able to get there any time soon." He said.
"Kid you go on ahead and meet us there. Aqualad, Miss Martian, you two get there as fast as you can." Kali instructed.
"Roger that."
"On my way." KF said.
"I have to report this in to my dad. So until I get back, Aqualad's in charge." Kali said. "So be sure to get a few licks in for me if I don't make it in time for the fun."
"You got it." Superboy smiled.
Putting two fingers to her forehead, Kali disappeared using Instant Transmission.
~Mount Justice~
"Read 'em and weep." Oliver Queen, also known as Green Arrow, said showing his hand at the poker table.
"Full house huh?" Goku asked, before smiling. "Too bad, I'm not gonna lose." He smirked, putting down his cards. "Royal Flush."
"No fair, you have to be cheating somehow." Oliver said, as Goku pulled in the solid gold, silver, and platinum poker chips.
"No way, I don't cheat in anything." Goku said.
"Calm down Oli. Goku takes pride in his honor, as an honest fighter, so he's not gonna cheat in poker." Black Canary said.
"Dad I…" Kali said, popping up in the room. "Are you playing poker and gambling?"
"Don't tell your mother and this stack of gold is yours." Goku said, sliding a stack of ten gold coins to Kali.
"Fine. But I'm here for something else." Kali sighed.
"What's up?" Goku questioned.
"This." Kali said, holding the metal badge towards him.
"Where did you get this?" Goku questioned, his brow forwarding.
"Ivo attacked the carriers. Well, it's more that he used robotic monkeys to do so, but we still got attacked. The team's heading for where the parts are being taken. But one of the monkeys dropped this in front of me, before it left with the others that took the parts." Kali explained.
"You left your team alone without leadership?" Oliver asked.
"No, I left Aqualad in charge while I came to report this." Kali said. "Dad, is there any way Ivo could have gotten his hands on Dr. Gero's research and methods?"
"It's been bothering me, but Amazo did have some resemblance to one of Gero's androids I fought in the past when Gohan was still a kid. It's doubtful, and highly unlikely, but I think there might be a chance Dr. Ivo has incorporated some of Gero's methods into his own style." Goku said. "I might still be needed here if that is the case. Head to Earth Omega, and ask Android 18, or Android 17 for help. Specifically, ask them for the location, of what used to be Gero's lab."
"Right." Kali said, before disappearing with Instant Transmission again.
"So… up for another quick round before you head out?" Oliver asked, shuffling the cards.
"Sorry, but if Kali's right about this, then I can't afford to waste time playing card games. I need to get back to training." Goku said, heading off to the training room.
"Have you ever seen Goku so worked up before?" Canary asked.
"Now that you mention it, I haven't." Oliver said. "Think this might end up being like the Cell Games he told us about?"
"I don't know, and honestly, I hope it doesn't." Canary sighed.
~Metropolis Diner~
"Apple pie." Clark said, reading off the menu of the diner.
"The Devil's food." Bruce said, handing his menu back to the waiter.
"So, something tells me, this isn't about dessert." Clark stated.
"The boy needs you." Bruce said.
Clark was silent for a moment, before he sighed, and clasped his hands together, looking down at the table.
"So you're gonna tell me to huh?"
"I'm aware that you've had a chat with Kali about how to handle the boy. You wanted advice from the person who knows him best." Bruce said.
"I did. But, I don't feel like treating him as my own kid, would be the right course of action." Clark said.
"Then what would the right course of action be?" Bruce inquired.
"In my honest opinion, I've given it a lot of thought, and I think treating him like a little brother would be better." Clark stated. "I've thought over the things Kali told me, and I've decided what I think would be best."
"But?"
"But I don't think it would be right for me to confront the boy about this, at least not until he's gotten a better handle on his emotions." Clark said. "I wanna help him, but I feel like Goku's family could do more good for him right now, then I could."
"I honestly don't trust that Saiyan. The only weakness I can find of his to exploit, should he turn back to his basic Saiyan instincts and nature, would be to threaten his wife. An' even then, he's now got three children, who could prevent that." Bruce said. "But I agree with you. Goku's family can help him right now. They're even helping him with making up for his lack of Kryptonian powers, by teaching him, their methods for Ki control."
"That should be interesting to see. A Kryptonian, fighting like a Saiyan." Clark chuckled. "All we're missing now, is the Zenkai Ability, and we're practically the same species."
"Minus a few powers." Bruce smiled.
~Earth Omega~
"Now let's see here." Krillin said, reading his text book. "The law's enforcement on criminal activity is based off what?" He pondered, reviewing information for the entrance test to the police force.
"Krillin." Kali said, popping in front of him out of nowhere.
"DAH." Krillin cried out in fear and surprise, before he calmed down. "Oh it's just you Kali. What can I do for ya?"
"Where's 18?"
"She's out with Marron on a mommy/daughter shopping trip, why?" Krillin asked.
"I need to find Dr. Gero's old lab." Kali said.
Krillin's face instantly hardened in anger when he heard that as he got to his feet.
"Kali I can't in good conscious allow you to go to such a dangerous place, even if you're a powerful Super Saiyan." Krillin said.
"Please Krillin this is important. The fate of the universe might be at stake." Kali said.
"Why do you need to go there so badly?" Krillin questioned.
"I need to see, if there's even a possible chance that Dr. Gero's research might have somehow managed to make their way to my earth. During the current mission I'm on, a robotic monkey dropped this in front of me, and only me. The Doctor who programmed them, obviously knows I'm related to Goku."
"The very person Dr. Gero is obsessed with killing, because he took out the entire Red Ribbon Army." Krillin said, piecing the puzzle together. "But it's not possible."
"Krillin please…"
"You don't understand, it's literally not possible. Future Trunks and I destroyed Dr. Gero's lab to kill Cell from this timeline, before he could mature into the monster he is." Krillin said.
"Then there had to be something there you missed. Something that was so well hidden, even Dr. Gero would have a hard time remembering where it was if he ever forgot about it." Kali said. "My dad had to go Super Saiyan3 just to take down an android, that he said had similar craftsmanship to Dr. Gero's work."
"What's this about Dr. Gero?"
Krillin and Kali turned to the door, to see 18 standing in the doorway with Marron in one arm, and a bunch of shopping bags in the other.
"Well?" 18 questioned.
"There's a possibility Dr. Gero's research may have found its way to my earth. The League had to fight an android, capable of copying its opponents powers. An' my dad said, it looked similar to an android he fought here when Gohan was still a kid." Kali explained.
"She's asking me to take her to Gero's lab. But I destroyed it." Krillin said.
"Both of them?" 18 asked.
"Both?" Kali inquired.
"Dr. Gero was a paranoid man. He didn't keep all his research in one location. He kept a copy of it all in another lab, somewhere at the bottom of the ocean." 18 said, putting Marron down, who ran to Kali and hugged her. "Most likely, he had a failsafe of some kind, if anything happened to him. My guess is, that failsafe is how his research ended up on your earth."
"Just great. At least now I know there's a possibility to how the research got to my earth." Kali sighed, taking Marron into her arms.
"What made you come to the conclusion that it was Dr. Gero anyway?" 18 asked.
"This." Kali said, showing the badge to 18. "A man named Dr. Ivo, programmed some robotic monkeys to retrieve the dismantled parts of his android Amazo, in the shipments my team and I were guarding, and one of them, purposefully dropped this on the ground in front of me."
"If the Red Ribbon Army logo was dropped in front of you, then Dr. Gero does have a hand in this." 18 said. "Krillin, I'm gonna give my brother a call, and let him know about this. You call Bulma and the other fighters. Bulma should be able to help you with finding Dr. Gero's underwater lab, once I give you the location of the general area."
"On it." Krillin said.
"Kali, you need to get back to your team." 18 stated, taking Marron from Kali's arms. "I have a feeling, they're gonna need you, now more then ever."
~Earth Alpha~
The air was cool and the night was still, as the only sounds resonating through the air, were the train on its tracks, and the laughter of the robotic monkeys as they brought the dismantled parts of Amazo to a specific train car,
Soaring through the air from his jump, Superboy landed on the train car, and slammed his hands through its roof, making a hole big enough for him to fit on the inside, before jumping in, and finding all four crates, opened and emptied of their contents. Looking around, he spotted a man with red hair, wearing a sweater vest and a bow-tie, with what remained of the robotic monkeys, surrounding him. But what was most surprising, was the fact that all four Amazo sets of Amazo parts, were in a vat of green glowing liquid, being pulled together by some sort of organic material.
"Oh, hello." Ivo greeted.
"You? You're Ivo? I'm whelmed." Superboy said.
"You're one to talk. Now since when does the big blue boy scout have a brat?" Ivo questioned. "I'm well aware of the Saiyan's two sons, but I wasn't aware the big blue, had a son of his own."
"He doesn't." Superboy said angrily, looking Ivo over. 'He obviously doesn't know about Kali. Good, that means he won't suspect her to come around. An' look at the pin on his vest.' Superboy thought, spotting the RR pin on Ivo's left pectoral. "I wasn't aware the Red Ribbon Army had members on Earth Alpha."
"Oh, you're a well informed boy. You must have been with the Saiyan recently. The monkey I had sent to deliver the Red Ribbon Army's emblem, is no longer carrying it. Which means someone with Saiyan DNA must have been with you." Ivo said.
'So that's it. He didn't know about Kali, he just programmed his monkey to drop it in front of someone with Saiyan DNA.' Superboy thought. "Let me ask you, what could possibly possess you to destroy your Amazo Android like this? Wouldn't Gero be disappointed in this kind of behavior?"
"Destroy? Oh no my dear boy. I haven't destroyed it. I'm simply putting him through his final stages of perfection." Ivo smirked, pressing a button on the vat, releasing a substance into the tank. "You see my boy. This is the Ultimate, creation of perfection. Gero's research had found its way to my lab, when I was trying to figure out, how to create the perfect android myself, and then it hit me. Almost literally, as a pod, containing all his research, all his stem cell samples from his attempts at creating the perfect being, crashed through my window. I learned all I could from the research, and have perfected Gero's work. This creation of mine, will not only possesses the genetic makeup of all those who created Gero's Biological Android, but also the genetic makeup and abilities of Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, any and all members of the Justice League with powers only the Gods should possess. My creations blood, will be Bane's Venom, and its blood lust, will know no bounds. He will be, the one true God."
"You're insane. Are you trying, to destroy the universe?" Superboy questioned.
"Insanity is irrelevant my dear boy." Ivo said, as the substance he'd injected into the tank, wrapped itself around the parts of Amazo, and began pulling it together, as the liquid in the vat began to diminish, wrapping the parts together in one big cocoon.
"The vat… that's Venom." Superboy said, as the vat dried up, and the liquid substance, around Amazo's body, began to take shape.
"Precisely my dear Superboy. Now witness as a true being of perfection, is born." Ivo smirked as the glass covering to the vat opened up, revealing Ivo's finished weapon.
Superboy just stared at the android as it opened its eyes. He'd heard the same story about Cell from 18 after the Beerus incident at Bulma's party, and could tell, there were similarities to the future Cell, and the one standing in front of him.
With the same segmented armor like body, the present day Perfect Cell resembles his future self in so many ways, but also is quite different from his future counterpart as well. The green of his armored skin was red with the splotched being a dark violet color.
Unlike the Cell from the future, this Cell does not possess the same head horns, but instead has short silvery white spiky hair, with silver skin, and bone spikes sprouting from his shoulders and elbows.
His irises were a deep shade of blood red, with dark purple sclera, unlike his future counter parts which were pink with white sclera. He retains the same tail as his alternate self, but is completely retracted, with only the stinger remaining. Standing at little over 7 feet in height, Cell towered over the Young Justice team. He doesn't have any wings, but he retains the same shoe-like feet as his future counterpart. Purple stripes ran down each side of his face, just like his future counterparts.
"Now my precious creation, destroy the brat." Ivo said, as Cell raised his arm and prepared a Ki blast, aimed at Superboy
"Shit." Superboy cursed.
The moment Cell released the blast, Superboy wouldn't be able to dodge it, and prepared himself for the impact. However, the boy of steel found himself tackled out of the way, falling to his back, as Kali appeared in front of him and pushed him to the ground, going down to evade the attack alongside him, as the attack shot through the train car.
"Who the hell is she?" Ivo questioned.
"Superboy, are you okay?" Kali asked, getting up.
"I'll live. But it looks like we're in deeper water then we realized. Ivo blabbed about how he got Gero's research. An' he's created a better, upgraded version of Cell."
"Looks like he doesn't need to absorb Androids 17 and 18 to achieve his perfect form." Kali said.
"No, he used an entire vat of venom for that." Superboy stated.
"Well, this is quite the interesting development."
Kali looked dead on at the android, as he was the one who'd spoken up.
"You're not supposed to speak." Ivo said, equally just as shocked.
"Why not? You did say, I am the one true God." Cell smirked, grabbing Ivo by the throat. "Oh, you're just like any typical helicopter parent. You decide what you think your child should be, while reaping all the rewards of my labor. Well I don't think so, not this time."
"Unhand me, I gave you life." Ivo stated.
"An' for that, I shall spare yours." Cell said, dropping Ivo to the ground. "But you two. This is quite interesting. You're a Saiyan and a Kryptonian, working together."
"An' what's so interesting about that?" Superboy questioned.
"Saiyans and Kryptonians, had a long history of being at war with one another." Kali said. "While Kryptonians worked on bettering the universe, they also fought against the Saiyans who threatened to destroy the fragile balance, trying to keep the warrior race from conquering and selling planets."
"She knows her history." Cell said, walking up to them. "But I'm curious, how is it she looks the way she does?"
"Let's just say, fate chose you and I for the same purposes." Kali glared.
Charging up her energy, Kali rushed at Cell, slamming her fist into his face, before she planted her feet on the ground, and began hitting him with rapid fire strikes. Hitting him in every weak spot she knew was on the physical body.
"Are you finished?" Cell questioned, grabbing one of Kali's wrists, while using his other hand to grab her throat. "Tell me child, have you ever danced with the devil under the pale moon light?"
As Kali struggled for breath, moonlight shined through the hole behind her, that Superboy made in his entrance to the train car, and hit half of Cell's face. The resulting image, caused Kali's eyes to widened in fear and horror, when she saw it. The half of his face the moonlight was hitting, looked maddening, like he had a never ending insane slasher smile, with his eye glowing bright red, even the bone spikes looked more horrifying then before, while the part covered in her shadow, was the same neutral expression she saw on him when she arrived.
"Kali."
Superboy's voice echoing in her ears, snapped Kali out of her horrified stare, giving her enough time to shut her eyes, and to go Super Saiyan, breaking free of Cell's grip, before dropping to the ground, coughing and gasping for breath.
"Kali, come on." Superboy said, taking her into his arms, and leaping through the hole Cell's Ki blast made in the back of the train car, an angered, and concerned look on his face as he leapt away from the train. 'What the hell did she see, that made her freeze up like that?'
"You can run boy, but you can't hide." Cell called out, as he flew into the air, out of the train car.
"Superboy to team. I have a situation here that we are not equipped to handle." Superboy said, using Kali's communicator as he'd ditched his.
"What's going on?" Robin questioned.
"Well for starters…" Superboy said, stopping as he turned back to look at Cell, only to see he was flying straight for Gotham City. "We've got a problem, that I doubt even Superman can handle."
