Saiyan Anti-Hero
~Mount Justice: August 19th~
"Initiate, combat training… 3,2,1…" The voice of the A.I spoke, as Superboy and Aqualad circled each other, with Goku overseeing the training. "Begin."
Off to the side, watching the fight go on, were Kali, Megan, Artemis. Wally, was still off on Earth Omega, getting a lesson from Chichi and the rest of Kali's family, and that had happened eleven days ago.
"Kaldor's nice, don't you think?" Artemis said, starting up a conversation with the other ladies of the team. "Handsome, commanding. One of you, should totally ask him out."
"Alright Artemis, I'm gonna save you a lot of heartache with a bit of pain right now." Kali said. "Superboy is out of your reach. An' I don't mean, he's too good for you, I mean he's already got someone else on his mind."
"Pffft, yeah right." Artemis laughed.
"Trust me. I'm his sister. I know these things about him." Kali stated as Megan went to Goku.
"Uh, Mr. Goku sir." Megan said, gaining the Saiyans attention.
"Just Goku is fine M'gann. What's up?" Goku inquired.
"When's Wally coming back? It's been nearly two weeks since you took him to Earth Omega." Megan inquired.
"He'll be back by tomorrow. He's endured enough punishment from everyone on my Earth." Goku said. "He's just lucky Vegeta never showed up. But man he was in major trouble when my father-in-law heard about some of the stuff he said about Kali."
"I see. So he's recovering right now?" She asked.
"Nope, he's currently hiding from Piccolo." Goku said, before ending the training match, as Superboy threw Aqualad over his shoulder and onto the ground. "Alright boys, that's time. Superboy wins the match."
"Black Canary taught me that move. But Kali helped drill it in." Superboy said, dusting off his hands.
"You sure neither of you have Saiyan blood? Because you really seem to enjoy these fighting matches a lot." Goku smiled.
"Oh ha-ha." Superboy said.
Before anyone else could jump in for training, the door leading to Red Tornado's quarters opened up, with the red android coming down. His actions told the team, he seemed on edge about something.
"Do you have a mission for us?" Kali questioned, coming up to Red Tornado.
"Mission assignments are Batman's responsibility." Red Tornado said.
"Yeah, well Batman is off with Robin, doing their dynamic duo thing in Gotham, trying to keep panic from rising as the Cell Games approach, ever nearer." Kali stated. "If you're heading out on a mission, we'd be more then happy to help if we can. Plus we're kinda going stir-crazy just sitting here in the cave."
"They've got a point Red. Some field action could do them some good." Goku said.
Red just turned around and brought up the holographic computer, and opened a file on what looked like an old man, with a connection to the mystic arts.
"This is Kent Nelson, a friend. He is 106 years old…"
"He doesn't really look a day over 75 to me." Kali spoke her opinion.
"He'd be flattered you said that." Red Tornado said. "He has been missing, for 23days. Kent was a charter member, of the Justice Society."
"The precursor to the Justice League." Kali said as an image of a man wearing a golden helmet, dressed in mystical themed clothing.
"Of course. Nelson was Earth Alpha's Sorcerer Supreme. He was Doctor Fate." Aqualad said.
"Don't let Wally hear you say that. He'll try and convert you into an atheist faster then the Flash can run." Kali stated.
"Kent may simply be on, one of his walkabouts, but he is caretaker to the Helmet of Fate." Red stated. "The source of the Doctor's Mystic Might, and it is unwise to leave such power unguarded."
"He's like the great Sorcerer Priests and Priestesses of Mars." Megan said. "I would be honored to help find him."
"I'll come to. Something's telling me this isn't your run of the mill walkabout." Kali said.
"Take this." Red said, putting a key in Kali's hand. "It is the key to the Tower of Fate."
"I'll guard it with my life."
~Abandoned Theater~
"Grant us access to the tower, and I promise an end to your suffering."
Up on the stage of the abandoned theater, were two men, with a third in the old seats of the theater, watching the show from afar. One was a man with black hair, a goatee, and wearing a magicians attire, with a wand in his hand.
The other was a young looking boy with his hair in the style of horns, wearing dark sorcerers garbs. The third was Kent Nelson, tied up in a chair looking battered and bruised, and like he'd seen better days.
"Continue to refuse and…" Kadabra stopped as he hit Kent with another torture spell.
"Enjoy it… while you can." Kent said, after the spell ended. "Soon enough, my friends will come to help me."
"Highly unlikely." Kadabra said, hitting Kent with another bolt of electricity.
"Encore, encore." Klarion cheered clapping his hands together, before his cat began hissing and meowing. "What?" He questioned, as his cat Teekl meowed. "Oh." He said, as he understood what the cat was saying.
~Team~
"So since it doesn't look like anything's here, there has to be something at play keeping the tower safe and hidden." Kali said, as they examined the location Red Tornado sent them to.
"If Kid Flash were here, he'd probably say it's something like…"
"Adaptive micro-opto-electronics combined with phase shifting." Artemis said.
"Yeah, that's it." Goku said.
"Why you decided to tag along for this mission dad, I will never understand." Kali sighed.
"Oh come on, I want to continue to spend some time with my daughter." Goku smiled.
Off some distance behind them, at the entrance to the old run down theater, the trio were hidden behind their own barrier.
"Hey Abra Kadabra. Aren't you using adaptive micro-opto-electronics combined with phase shifting?" Klarion questioned.
"Yes." Kadabra said, begrudgingly.
Back out with the team, Kali's eyes narrowed when she felt some anger coming a small distance behind them. When focusing her search in that area, she sensed, four Ki signatures, one of them an animal, two of them human, and another demonic.
"Dad, you sensing anything?" Kali asked.
"Not a thing. If they are hiding somewhere nearby, then their tech is obviously hiding their Ki, and it's similar to Dr. Ivo's from when you two fought." Goku said.
"We'd best be careful. We don't know if they're gonna use us to get into the Sanctum or not." Kali sighed, as the group headed deeper into the field.
"You're right. Take the lead from here Kali." Goku said.
"Dad, you're the Justice League member here." Kali said.
"Yeah, but I thought you might wanna keep taking the lead from here, since it is your team." Goku said.
"Fair enough." Kali sighed, looking down at the key Red gave her. "This isn't just anything that would normally happen. This is something that requires…" Kali paused as she looked at the key's side, and saw the word, insert, on the flat side of the body. "Stand behind me."
Walking forward, Kali stopped, before she raised her arm and inserted the key into thin air, but to the others shock, she'd managed to unlock something, as the key head vanished where she'd inserted it, before she turned the key to the side, and a tall brick building appeared from thin air.
Pushing the door open, Kali lead the others deeper into the tower, with the door closing behind them, before the camouflage Cadabra was using, came undone and the duo, with their hostage, followed them in.
Inside however, things weren't as simple for the team.
"Uh, where'd the door go?" Superboy asked, before a golden holographic image of Kent appeared in front of Kali.
"Greetings. You have entered with a key, but the tower does not recognize you." The golden Kent said. "Please state your purpose and intent."
"I got this." Goku said. "We are true believers, here to find, Dr. Fate."
The hologram just looked unamused, before it disappeared.
"Dad, I think you just screwed things up." Kali said.
As soon as she said that, the floor beneath their feet, fell out from under them, and they went falling down into a dark tunnel, with what looked like hot lava at the bottom. After regaining their sense of balance, Goku, Kali, and Megan began to fly, with Megan catching Artemis, and Goku catching Aqualad.
"Everyone okay?" Kali asked.
"I'm fine." Aqualad said.
"Same." Artemis nodded.
"I'll live, but I'm gonna need a new pair of boots and pants. These kinda got eaten up by the lava." Superboy said, steadily flying up to them.
"Superboy, you're actually flying." Kali said.
"Surprise. I haven't fully mastered it, but I've gotten a hang of the flying technique." Superboy stated. "This Nelson guy better be worth it, because those were my favorite boots the lava destroyed."
"Having trouble keeping altitude. It's so hot in here, I can barely stand it." Megan said.
"I got you." Kali said, helping to keep the duo up in the air. "Aqualad and Megan's physiology are both highly susceptible to extreme heat. Dad, we have to get out of here now."
"I'm trying to use Instant Transmission, but something's keeping me from doing so." Goku exclaimed.
"Hello Megan. We never truly answered the question." Megan said.
"Tower of Fate, Red Tornado sent us to see if Kent Nelson, and the Helmet of Fate were safe, and out of harms reach." Kali shouted out.
Almost instantly, a floor began to open up, below their feet, and above the lava, giving them all a surface to land on, with the non-fliers being set down on their feet.
"The platform should be red hot, but it isn't. It's cool to the touch." Kali said, crouching down and tapping the surface of what they stood on.
"Kali, I've found a handle on the surface of the platform." Aqualad said.
"Open it, but be careful. We don't know what kind of tricks we'll be facing." Kali said.
Aqualad grabbed the handle, before pulling the trap door open, letting in a rush of cold air, and snow.
"Wait, wasn't there lava under there a moment ago?" Goku asked.
"Not another word out of you dad. Your little statement up there nearly got us roasted." Kali said.
"Alright, I'll keep my mouth shut." Goku sighed, knowing she was right.
"Come on." Kali said, jumping through the open door, with the others soon following behind.
"So Kali, why would Goku's statement have been the cause of what happened?" Artemis asked.
"Mainly because he didn't answer the question properly. He just gave an answer that he thought the Tower might have wanted to hear, rather then let me handle it and tell the truth." Kali said.
"Ah, so the Tower mistook that as us lying and saw us as an enemy, instead of a friend." Artemis realized. "By the way, Megan tells me you sometimes visit the other Earth your father lives on. What's that like?"
"Honestly? I wish I could erase the memories of the people there." Kali sighed.
"Why?"
"I'll explain later, right now I think we found a clue as to Red's concerns being valid." The Saiyan said, stopping in her tracks, and pointing forward, spotting a cane floating in the air, with ice forming on the bottom end.
"Think that's Nelson's cane?" Goku asked.
"I got it." Goku and Kali said as they grabbed it at the same time before it started glowing. "Hey, I can't let go." They said, before crying out, as it began to fly up into the air, dragging them with it, leaving Artemis, Megan, Superboy, and Aqualad alone.
~Elsewhere in the Tower~
"Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet?" Klarion kept questioning, as their group was traveling through a room full of stairs, leading in different directions, and different levels of gravity.
Nelson had a collar around his neck, that used his voice, but only spoke the words Cadabra chose to speak. But currently, he was wishing they were done already.
"Tell us where to find the Helmet." Cadabra said, stopping Nelson, before throwing away the collar.
"Can't. Having too much fun." Nelson said, a big smirk on his face as he had no intention of leading them to the Helmet of Fate.
This resulted in an outburst of anger from Cadabra, that ended with an electrical shock coursing through Nelson's body.
"Still having fun?" Cadabra asked.
"I am." Klarion said. "Zap him again, or dump him off the side, and watch him splat." Cadabra raised his wand and used it to zap Nelson again, much to the Chaos Lord's enjoyment, before the cat on his shoulders spoke up. "Ah, yes-yes. I suppose we might still need him."
There was a continued moment of torment, before Klarion's eyes widened as he felt a surge of magic course through the room. The moment he turned around, he was met with Kali's fist, as she came flying right at him, sending him to another staircase.
"Dad, you take care of Cadabra, I've got Nelson." Kali said, breaking Nelson's bindings with his own cane.
"I'm way ahead of you." Goku said, hitting Cadabra with a roundhouse kick.
"Thank you both. Now in here." Nelson said, taking back his cane, and making an elevator door appear from nowhere.
"You really are a magic man, aren't you?" Goku asked, as they rushed in.
"No, no, no. I want that helmet. I want it, I want it, I want it." Klarion declared, like a spoiled child not getting the toy he wanted, while he shot an attack at the elevator doors.
"I don't think so." Kali glared, shooting out a Ki blast at Klarion's attack, creating a smoke screen as the two powers collided, allowing for Goku, Kali, and Nelson to escape.
Inside the elevator, Nelson was standing calmly as he looked at the letters, while Kali sighed in annoyance at Goku's whining.
"Come on, I wanna go back out there and fight him. He seems very strong." Goku said.
"No dad. We are not staying, to fight a literal Lord of Chaos." Kali sighed.
"I'm Kent Nelson by the way." Nelson said, interjecting.
"I'm Kali. This big lug is my dad, Goku." Kali greeted.
"Well Kali, we're up against an opponent, with tremendous mystic power." Nelson said.
"Klarion, I know. I read his file taken from Ivo's lab. His cells were part of… well what comprises the current Perfect Cell, I'm supposed to be fighting in a few months." Kali sighed. "Abra Cadabra isn't someone we should worry too much about, but he's still a threat."
"Not as big a threat as Klarion." Nelson said. "He's an actual witch boy. The Kid with a cat, is an actual Lord of Chaos. The natural enemy to a Lord of Order, like Dr. Fate."
"Right, you're a Lord of Order. Red Tornado told us you were Dr. Fate." Goku said with a smile.
"Oh no, I'm only an old coat, Dr. Fate used to put on. Until my wife, convinced me, that there could be more to life, then just what Dr. Fate demands. She was a real pistol that one." Nelson said, pulling out a pocket watch and opening it, to reveal the photo on the underside of the lid. "Any who, Klarion is after the Helmet. If he gets his sticky little hands on it, he'll turn the planet into his own, personal playground of pandemonium." He stated, before the elevator bell rang. "Looks like we've arrived." He said, before the doors opened up, and they walked out, towards a giant bell, that looked like it belonged in the towers of Notre Dame.
As they ascended the stairs, they turned around and looked up, as a buzzing sound echoed through the room, and a door opened up, with Aqualad, Artemis, Superboy falling out, with Megan softly floating down.
"Friends of yours?" Nelson asked.
"Ones I wouldn't trade the world for." Kali said, before her body straightened, and she pushed Nelson out of the way, taking the full force of Cadabra's attack.
"Kali." Superboy called out.
"I'm fine, just go." Kali said, shaking off the attack and helping Nelson to the bell.
Once struck with the golden head of the cane, the bell began began to glow, with Nelson and Kali walking through it, but Klarion was swift, and entered the bell, leaving Cadabra with the rest of Kali's team.
In the blink of an eye, Kali and Nelson found themselves standing on the roof of the tower, with the golden helmet of Fate, floating in the air in front of them.
As Nelson reached to grab it, he was shot down, with an attack from Klarion, as the Witch Boy smiled and laughed maniacally at his, all too soon victory.
"Mr. Nelson." Kali panicked, catching him, as the old man grabbed his chest. Before everything became too late, Nelson began to speak in the magic language and formed a barrier around him, Kali, and the helmet, blocking Klarion's next attack from hitting them, before he fell to the ground, with his cane floating in the air, as it began to burn with a golden flame.
"NO!" Klarion shouted in anger, before he began hitting the barrier with a barrage of attacks.
"Kami above, where's Lord Beerus and Whis when you need them?" Kali cursed.
"You've met… a Destroyer?" Nelson gasped, lying on his back.
"Well, I've more or less fought him to exhaustion." Kali said, searching her pockets. "Damn it, where are they, I know I had a bag of Senzu Beans when we left the base and… Damn it I left them in the Bio Ship."
"I want that helmet, and I want it now." Klarion declared angrily.
"If you've fought and survived against a Destroyer God… then you can defeat Klarion, without a problem." Nelson said.
"But that was with a power I don't have access to anymore. I was only able to access that power, because I had the others give me their inner lights. I don't have the strength of the Super Saiyan Goddess anymore." Kali said. "I'm useless without it."
"It doesn't matter, you're not useless my dear. You're strong enough to wield the helmet, you're stronger then you know." Nelson said.
"Even if you say that, it doesn't change the predicament we're in. You're heart's giving out, and we're cornered by Klarion." Kali said. "Without Dr. Fate, we can't win."
"The barrier will give you just enough time, to do what you need to do."
"But I have no idea what I need to do I… I don't even know what I'm supposed to be doing now." Kali cried, slamming her fists on the ground. "I'm terrified. I'm scared, I'm gonna let everyone down."
"Have faith, in your power. Have faith in what you need to do."
Kali just looked to Nelson, and her eyes widened in horror when she saw that he was no longer conscious, or breathing. He was dead, and with the open pocket watch, containing the image of his wife, resting comfortably in his hand.
Clenching her fist, Kali got to her feet, and grabbed the helmet, before she turned it to where the eyes were looking directly at her.
"Listen here Dr. Fate. I don't care if you're one of the founding members of the Justice Society, and I don't know if you can even hear me right now, but if we join forces, we're gonna do so, with me at the helm of my body, with your magic coursing through me. It's either that, or the next time I see Lord Beerus, I give him the helmet to use a spittoon." Kali stated.
Turning the helmet back around, before she turned to Klarion, her eyes bloodshot with anger as the barrier began to disperse.
"Hey dummy. You put that Helmet on, you may never get it off." Klarion said, forming giant claws with his magic, and shredding through what remained of the barrier.
"Say goodnight, Witch Boy." Kali growled, raising the helmet above her head.
"NO!" Klarion shouted, sending an attack at her.
The red fire washed over Kali as the eyes of the helmet glowed brightly, before a powerful aura erupted from Kali, dispersing of the flames, revealing Kali in a royal blue Gi, with a gold sash, shoulder guards, and martial arts slippers, as well as the helmet of Fate on her head, as she was in the Turtle Hermit fighting stance, the visible Goddess markings on her arms and neck, glowing a bright shade of neon blue, while her hair was a scarlet red.
~The Mindscape~
Kali opened her eyes, finding herself standing in the spotlight of a dark room.
"Okay, okay. I'm not in control, that's fine. But I will…"
"I wouldn't." The familiar voice of Nelson said, as he came out of the shadows, shocking Kali.
"But, but you're, you're…"
"Yep, but don't feel bad. It's not on you." Nelson said. "Soon as this little Brouhaha is over, my spirit will ascend. An' I'll be reunited with my beloved wife."
"Oh… okay, wait does that mean I'm…"
"No don't worry about it, you're not dead. But your soul no longer controls your body. However, your latent power, the stuff you claim not to possess anymore, did have quite the effect on Dr. Fates wardrobe."
"What are you talking about?" Kali asked.
"You said you didn't have the power of the Super Saiyan Goddess with you anymore."
"I don't. I might be the natural born Goddess, but I don't have that kind of power with me anymore."
"An' I call bull on that." Nelson smiled. "That power is locked away deep inside you. It's there, waiting to be released, waiting for you to finally take hold of your destiny. But this will be a conversation for another time." He said.
Kali looked at him, then looked down at herself, gasping as her body became transparent.
"What's happening to me?" Kali asked.
"You're soul is returning to your body. Nabu, the actual Dr. Fate, the Lord of Order, is letting you take the wheel while using his powers. He knows better then to ignore the will of the Divine."
"But I'm not…"
"Ah, remember what I said. You might not believe you have the power anymore, but I know you do. I can feel it, my Goddess."
With those words, Kali found herself back out in the world of the living, and looked down at her body, finding it looked good on her, before her instincts kicked in, and she pivoted to the side, allowing for one of Klarion's attacks to pass her by, harmlessly.
"Give it up Nabu. Order went out of style in the Twentieth Century." Klarion stated, sending more attacks at her.
Swiftly, maneuvering through the flaming barrages, Kali weaved through the flaming attacks like it was nothing, before she was in front of Klarion, with her fist, coated in intense Order Magic from Nabu, buried deep into the Chaos Lord's stomach, forcing the Witch Boy to bend forward and cough up spit and blood.
(Cue Music… White Rabbit: Egypt Central)
"I'm sorry, but Nabu is currently unavailable. I'd be happy to take a message for you." Kali stated, before she opened her hand, and at point blank range, hit Klarion with a Ki blast in the stomach, and sending him flying back and into one of the stone pillars that lined the roof.
"That's… not possible." Klarion said angrily before charging at her in rage. "You shouldn't be in control of your own body, while wearing Nabu's helmet."
"Guess he knows not to mess with someone, who has a connection to Lord Beerus." Kali said, deflecting and blocking Klarion's strikes.
"You, have a connection to Lord Beerus?" Klarion questioned. "Don't make me laugh, how could a simple mortal like you have a connection to a Destroyer God?"
Kali just flipped back, evading a swipe of Klarion's claws, before she jumped forward, hitting the Chaos Lord with a roundhouse kick. Moving back, Kali evaded Teekl as she lunged at her. Landing on her feet, Teekl grew to her larger size, before pouncing on Kali again, pinning her to the ground, and knocking the helmet off.
"The Helmet of Fate shouldn't be that easy to remove." Klarion said, picking it up.
"You're right, it shouldn't be."
Klarion twisted around, before he was sent flying with a kick to the stomach, with the helmet flying into the air, and landing in Goku's arms.
"Dad? How'd you get here?"
"Instant Transmission. The Tower was no longer blocking my ability to do that." Goku said. "Hey, you've accessed the Super Saiyan God power again. Cool, you gotta tell me how you did that."
"Not the time for that dad." Kali stated, pushing one foot on the underside of Teekl's belly, and flipping her over towards Goku, who hit the feline with a Ki blast.
"Hey stop it you big bullies, picking on a poor little kitty." Klarion growled, picking himself up.
"That's no ordinary cat, and you know it." Kali said picking herself up. "I've read the file Ivo and the League have on you. That's your familiar, your anchor to the realm of the physical world. Lucky for you, I have a soft spot for kittens and other adorable animals."
Klarion just glared at Kali, before he charged at her again, as she took a battle stance. Pivoting to the side, Kali grabbed Klarion's arm as he thrust it towards her with claws. Spinning Klarion around, Kali slammed him into the ground and threw her arm forward, sending Klarion sliding into the monsterized Teekl, sending them both into the wall.
(End Song…)
"Leave now Klarion, and don't you ever come back for the Helmet of Fate." Kali growled.
Klarion just looked to Kali, before grabbing Teekl as she returned to normal size, and vanished in a burst of light.
Kali sighed as she let herself relax, before she fell to the ground, crossing her legs.
"It's over. For now at least." Kali sighed.
"Kali, what about the Helmet of Fate?" Goku asked holding the helmet out to her.
Kali looked at the helmet, then at a strand of her hair. She recalled the words Nelson said to her in the helmet, and an idea came to the forefront of her mind.
"Give it here." Kali said, taking the helmet, and setting it in front of her on the ground.
"What are you gonna do?" Goku asked, sitting next to her, as Kali clapped her hands together, and focused her energy into them.
"Something I'm not sure will work." Kali said.
Reaching out to the helmet, Kali paused as she pulled her arms back a bit, and looked to Goku.
"What's wrong Kali?"
"It's just… I've been kinda hard on you lately tonight dad. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so, well mean to you."
"Hey don't sweat it. I didn't really help things myself." Goku said.
"But that's just it, I should have relied on your help more, rather then just trying to prove something to you, that I didn't need to." Kali said.
"An' what's that?" Goku asked.
"When you decided to come along, I thought you'd chosen to see how I do things in the field, to see if I'd actually earned my title as team leader or not, and that put me on the edge. I was so adamant about trying to prove to you I'd earned the position and…"
"Hey, slow down." Goku said. "Look, I know what it's like to be stubborn and hot headed. Trust me, I was young once too. But if you felt that way you should have come and told me about it. I'm sorry I put that kind of pressure on you, that wasn't my intention. All I wanted, was to see you in action, and to see just how great a hero, my little girl has become. An' from what I saw in that fight against Klarion, you did more then prove it. I'm proud of you Kali, and I couldn't have expected better from you."
"Thanks dad." Kali smiled. "Alright dad, let's fix the helmet."
Reaching her hands out as they began to glow with a golden aura, Kali placed them on the top of the helmet, before she allowed for the energy she contained, to flow through her, and into the helmet.
"Please work, please work, please work." Kali chanted, before a bright flash of light enveloped the helmet.
~Mount Justice~
"It's sad to hear about what had happened to Kent Nelson." Megan said, using her telekinesis to stir some cookie dough in a mixing bowl.
"I know, but he's keeping Nabu company in the helmet right now, so I'm sure he's fine." Kali said, her hair and markings back to normal.
"Still, it's kinda hard to believe. Putting on the helmet allowed you to access the Super Saiyan Goddess power you used against this Lord Beerus guy?" Artemis questioned, putting down the file Kali was having her read.
"Not only that, but it's a power Kali's naturally had her entire life… which isn't very long now that I think about it." Megan said.
"So Kali, you do have some explaining to do still." Artemis said.
"About?"
"Why you wish you could wipe the memories of everyone on your father's earth?"
"Oh right that. Well, long story short, Hercule Satan is the fall guy. Basically, he takes all the credit and glory for the victories my father and his friends, have achieved. First it was the Cell Games back when Gohan was eleven, and then it was the battle against Majin Buu. After this latest incident, he got the credit for fighting off Lord Beerus, but when I went to visit my dad on his earth last month, we went for ice cream and caught wind of the conference Mr. Satan was holding, for achieving the victory. That made me feel a little upset, because I just felt like the weapon I was made to be, however my dad took that as a means of heading over to talk with Mr. Satan, and I wound up getting dragged into the conference, and was given the glory of fighting Beerus, while Mr. Satan got the glory for ending a Drug Trafficking ring."
"How'd the people take it?" Megan asked.
"Honestly, they took it pretty well. Mr. Satan made it sound like I wanted to be left out of the media and give him all the credit, but said he couldn't keep the truth anymore." Kali said, before she sighed. "But it backfired, as now I can't even walk down the street of the city without being hounded by people wanting my autograph and hordes of boys begging for me to go on a date with them. The broadcast for that press release was world wide."
"Sounds rough." Artemis snickered. "Let me guess, you're wanting to find someone special, before you settle down?"
"That, and I'm not ready to date." Kali stated. "Plus I know those boys are only wanting to date me for my power, not my looks. As these markings can get in the way of seeing the actual me."
"That's just shallow." Artemis said. "But now I can see why you'd want to erase the memories of everyone on your father's planet."
"Right? I'd use Shenron to wish everyone's memories of me gone, but the Dragon Balls won't be detectable until sometime after the Cell Games." Kali sighed.
"Yeah about that… you always seem kinda down when the subject of this new Cell's, Cell Games, is brought up." Megan said. "What's wrong?"
"I'm not getting any stronger. The only fight that I've had since Cell's announcement of the Cell Games, that's given me a major Zenkai boost, is the fight against Dr. Ivo's android at Gotham Academy." Kali said. "Nearly eight billion lives, rest on my shoulders, I'm the one who'll be the deciding factor of if they live, or die."
"Not to mention, this Cell, had the same idea for training, that you did." Megan said.
"So, what'd you do with the helmet after you restored Nabu's power?" Artemis asked, trying to get their minds off the Cell Games.
"It's sitting on the souvenir case in my room, next to the Medal I got from the Snackians." Kali said. "Nabu wants me to keep him in reserve, in case I need to access that power I used against, Klarion, again."
"Will you ever need to though?" Megan inquired.
"The situation may arise when she does." Artemis said. "Who knows. Perhaps you'll have to use that power sooner then you may think. You might even be able to use it in the Cell Games."
"I can't." Kali said. "Using Nabu's power in the Cell Games, would be against the rules. An' if I break the rules, I might as well hand over the earth on a silver platter to that monster."
"Break the rules, instant doomsday." Artemis sighed. "Why does that not surprise me?"
