Saiyan Anti-Hero

~Gotham City August 27th~

"Kali, on your right." Superboy called out.

"I've got it." Kali said.

Currently the team was having trouble on their current mission in Gotham. Their coordination with each other was great, but one of their teammates was having trouble staying focused, as they fought against one of Batman's enemies, Clay Face.

"Aqualad, behind you." Kali called out, firing a Ki blast at Clay Face, causing the mud man some pain.

Aqualad turned around, as Clay Face thrust his arm out, but was too slow to dodge as he was slammed back into the wall.

"Kali, we have to finish this fight, now." Robin called to her. "The team can't take anymore punishment."

"Right, I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this to avoid property damage, but I got no choice." Kali sighed, taking a wide stance. "Ka-me…"

"Hit the deck." Superboy called out.

"Ha-me…"

"I've got Aqualad, let's move." Robin called out, dragging the Atlantian away.

"HA!" Kali cried out, sending the attack at Clay Face, and enveloping the villain, as he cried out in pain.

When the light died down, and the smoke cleared, Clay Face was on the ground, waiting for detainment, and transport.

"Superboy. Care to do the honors?" Kali asked.

"On it." Superboy said.

~At the Base~

"Great job team, we were pretty good out there, but… Aqualad, you seemed distracted." Kali said, addressing her team.

"Yeah dude, I saw on the monitor you weren't acting yourself, something on your mind?" Wally questioned, coming into the meeting with a plate of cookies.

"I'm fine Wally, I just… My mind keeps wandering back home to Atlantis, and if my place is there, or here."

"Hey, if you're needing some time to think things over, and choose where you need to remain, then I understand. Take some time to figure it out. But you can't keep dividing yourself like this, it's not healthy." Kali said.

"What about you? You're in the same boat as me! Except on a much, grander scale." Aqualad pointed out.

"He's got a point there Kali." Wally said, holding the plate of cookies to her. "You can't keep dividing yourself between Earth Alpha and Omega."

"I don't divide myself between the two." Kali snickered, taking two cookies. "Earth Omega is where my dad is, where the rest of my Z Fighter family lives, but I have family here too. I have you guys, but I also have responsibilities here. I just think of this planet as my vacation home, where I can get work done and get paid for it."

"Guess she's not torn." Wally said, walking past the others with the plate of cookies. "Anybody else want a cookie?"

"Kali, the hell did your mom do to Wally?" Artemis asked.

"Apparently, she drilled him on how to be a proper gentleman and a potentially good husband." Kali snickered munching on one of the cookies. "Damn, she even taught him her famous cookie recipe. Not even I know that one."

"The secret ingredient, is a sprinkle of nutmeg." Wally said.

"I'd say she did too good a job." Robin said.

"Agreed." Aqualad, Megan, and Superboy said in unison.

"Either way, meeting adjourned. I've gotta report the mission to Batman." Kali said, before walking off. "Sometimes it sucks being Team Leader."

"You can do it Kali, just push through the work and it'll be simple as pie." Wally said. "Speaking of which, who wants strawberry rhubarb?" He questioned, heading back for the kitchen.

The rest of the team just looked at Kali.

"Yeah, yeah I get it. I'll have a talk with him about his current behavior, and with my mom about what she did to him." Kali sighed.

~Earth Omega Sometime Later~

"I'm home." Kali called out walking into the house, wearing a black form fitting tankini top, with the leggings and martial arts slippers Piccolo made for her after she fought Beerus during Bulma's birthday party.

"Welcome home sweetheart. I hope Wally's behaving himself." Chichi said, greeting Kali at the entry hall.

"Yeah, about that mom. What exactly did you do to Wally to make him act the way he's acting? It's starting to get a little annoying, and creepy if I'm being honest." Kali said.

"I didn't do much. Just drilled him with the basics of proper house care, how to treat people…" Chichi listed off, leading Kali into the living room.

"Threatened to end his life with a Kamehameha Wave if he didn't straighten up." Goten added.

"That was Tien Shinhan, honey." Chichi said. "But what exactly is he doing that's making it creepy?"

"For one, he keeps acting like a house wife, he waits on us hand and foot, all in general, he's acting like a completely different person, and not the kind we want." Kali said. "It's actually kinda weird and… sends a bad feeling down my spine, actually."

"I see… well it could be he's just reacting in fear to what Piccolo and the others might have done to straighten him out." Chichi explained.

"Hold up, you're saying the rest of the Z Fighters had something to do with Wally's behavior change?" Kali asked. "What am I saying, of course they did, you just said Tien threatened to kill him with a Kamehameha Wave, if he didn't straighten out and clean up his behavior."

"Of course." Chichi said. "Even Satan managed to do some reformation to his psyche."

"Well I guess that explains it." Kali sighed. "We now have a Hercule Satan Jr. in the base."

"Mom, we're here." Gohan's voice came from the door.

"We're in the living room." Chichi called to him.

"Oh Kali, you're here." Videl smiled.

"It's good to see you Videl." Kali smiled, giving her a hug, before pulling back and putting her hands on the woman's baby bump. "An' it's good to see you too little one." She cooed.

"I still can't believe it. I'm gonna be a grandmother." Chichi said. "So, have you been using those CD's I sent you? Have you been using those headphones on your belly to start your baby's education early?"

"Easy mom, Videl hasn't even had the kid yet, and you're already starting on trying to decide its future for it?" Kali asked.

"Well excuse me if I want my grandchild to be a productive and valued member of society." Chichi said.

"Oh Kali, you're here." Gohan smiled, coming in and carrying a bunch of stuff. "It's good to see you."

"It's good to see you too bro." Kali smiled.

"You being here reminds me, Bulma has something at her lab she thinks you might like. You should go see what she wants, before it slips her mind." Videl said.

"I'll be sure to do that." Kali said, before looking around. "Where's dad?"

"Your father is off working in the fields." Chichi stated.

"Knowing him, he's probably slacking off and training again." Kali snickered.

"So… are we not gonna talk about the elephant in the room?" Gohan asked.

"What do you mean?" Kali asked.

Gohan sighed, having a feeling Kali wasn't gonna want to talk about this, and just removed his glasses, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Mom, I'm gonna need to take Kali out for a bit." Gohan said.

"Sure son, but why?"

"Can I come too?" Goten asked.

"No Goten. This is between me and Kali." Gohan stated. "Mom, it's important."

"Alright, just be careful out there. You know how dangerous the areas can be after dark." Chichi said.

"Come on Kali. We gotta get to it." Gohan said. "Follow me."

"Where are we going?" Kali asked, following him out of the house.

"Just follow and don't ask questions." Gohan stated. "We're going to Bulma's first, then we're going somewhere we can get you some training I received as a kid."

Taking to the air, Gohan and Kali went traveling at super fast speeds, nearly creating a Sonic Boom, before they made it to West City and made their way to Capsule Corp.

"Come on, she's waiting inside." Gohan said.

Heading into the house, Kali caught a whiff of something delicious smelling that caught her attention, and pulled her away from Gohan, towards the dinning room area. There, she found Whis sitting and eating with Bulma.

"Oh, hello Kali, fancy seeing you here." Whis said.

"I was kinda just following Gohan, kinda got distracted and wondered off from him when I smelt all the delicious food." Kali said, scratching the back of her head embarrassed to have admitted that.

"Well, that just proves you're Goku's daughter. You're more then welcome to join us if you want." Bulma chuckled.

"I wouldn't want to impose. I just came because Gohan mentioned you had something for me, and he wants to take me somewhere later."

"It's fine, stay for a meal real quick. Also, did you happen to remember the capsule I asked you to bring?" Bulma inquired.

"The one that holds my castle? Yeah, I've got it right here." Kali said, reaching into her chest and pulling the capsule out.

"You're keeping things in your chest now?" Bulma asked.

"Hey, if you got 'em, flaunt 'em." Kali smiled, handing her the capsule.

"True enough." Bulma lightly laughed. "Have a seat and enjoy yourself, I'll be back in a moment."

"Alright." Kali said, sitting across from Whis.

"So, how's training been going lately?" Whis inquired.

"Not too good. I keep getting sidetracked by missions, and I'm still a bit shaken up from my encounter on Vampa." Kali said. "To think there was someone there that was actually stronger then Neo Cell."

"Neo Cell?"

"The Cell Dr. Ivo made." Kali said. "Dr. Gero made the first Cell, so I figured the new Cell, should have at least a different start to his title."

"I see." Whis smiled. "So I hear, you wielded your Goddess powers, and a substantial amount of Magical power about a week ago."

"Well, it wasn't anything special. I just put on the Helmet of Dr. Fate, and it helped to unlock that power." Kali said.

"Ah, Dr. Fate. I assume you were fighting a Chaos Lord then?" Whis asked.

"Klarion." Kali stated. "He's a little bratty Witch Boy who thinks he can get what he wants whenever he wants."

"I'm well aware of Klarion." Whis said. "In fact, I was the one who helped him find his Anchor."

"Come again?"

"How do I explain this?" Whis questioned. "Chaos Lords, aren't as dangerous as a Destroyer God. In fact in comparison, they're downright harmless. But that's because, Chaos Lords are born from the creation of a new Destroyer God, and have the same ranking as one of the four Kai's watching over the different quadrants of the Universe, like the North Kai for example."

"So they're like me then? Natural born deities?" Kali inquired.

"Not quite." Whis said. "You're close though. Chaos Lords might be perceived as deities, but their power is a far cry from that level. Let's say… this sesame seed is the power level of a Chaos Lord, and… this grape is the power of a Destroyer God. Do you get the picture?" He asked, putting down the seed, and a grape the size of an average every day eraser.

"I do, wow that's incredible." Kali said.

"Now your power in comparison to both would be… this." Whis said, putting a smaller grape between the seed and the larger grape. "Now mind you, this is your true power I'm talking about, not the power you used against Klarion. In that battle, I'd say your powers were about evenly matched."

"You saw the battle?"

"I could sense your power through my staff, and I'm always aware of when Klarion's Anchor accesses its true potential." Whis explained. "I must say though, you are very adept at using magic. I'd say you're a natural at it."

"Thanks, but I don't wanna be the natural of anything else for a while." Kali said. "So if Chaos Lords have a standing in the same rank as King Kai, then where do Lords of Order play a part?"

"That's a bit more complex in the grand scheme of things, but to put it simply, Lords of Order like Nabu, have a ranking between the Supreme Kai's, and the Grand Kai, but still nowhere near the power of a Destroyer God." Whis explained. "Lords of Order are born from souls or the righteous who've proven their worth in their mortal lives, and given a second chance at being immortalized as agents of order. However, like Klarion, they need an Anchor to access their power and fight. Nabu's helmet being a good example of the medium between his soul, and the body he inhabits when the helmet is worn, as the hosts who dawn the helmet themselves become the Anchor required for him to manifest."

"Hmm, you know that actually makes a lot more sense now." Kali said. "But the strange thing is, I was still in control of my body when I wore the helmet, I could even take it off. Well it was actually knocked off of me when Klarion's Anchor pounced and knocked me over."

"There's a simple explanation for that." Whis smiled. "The Divine Power you wield, allowed for you to override that rule about wearing the helmet, and you absorbed Nabu's magic without a problem, thus enhancing your own strength, which is what gave you the edge in battle against Klarion."

"There you are Kali, don't wonder off like that. I panicked when I noticed you disappeared." Gohan said, coming into the dinning room, with Bulma following. "Oh Whis, hello it's nice to see you."

"You as well Gohan." Whis smiled.

"Sorry about that Gohan." Kali said. "But I got pulled away when I smelt all this delicious food."

"You really are my sister then." Gohan chuckled with a smile. "Anyways, we need to get going."

"Before you go, take this." Bulma said, giving Kali her communication watch. "I made a few upgrades to your Scouter Watch, and even added another function to help you change into hero mode when you head out on missions."

"But I haven't made a final decision on a costume yet." Kali said, putting the watch on.

"It's fine, there's no rush for that. But when you do, come back to me with the design drawn out and I'll add it to the function." Bulma said.

"Hey, that's the same type of function you did for me and my Saiyaman watch." Gohan said.

"You're what?" Kali asked.

"Your brother here, took on the role of a superhero when Goku was still in Other World, right before the Majin Buu incident, and he asked me for help." Bulma smiled. "He took on the name Saiyaman, to hide his identity. You should have seen him, he was so cute it was too much to handle."

"Bulma cut it out. I've put all that behind me now." Gohan said, a blush heavy on his cheeks.

"Well, I'm sure you'd have made a great hero on Earth Alpha." Kali smiled.

"Alright, now let me show you some of the mod's I did to your Scouter." Bulma said. "Press the blue button twice."

Kali looked at the device on her wrist, and did as commanded, before she gasped as she was covered in something, and she looked at her hands, finding the divine markings were no longer there.

"Oh my. It seems you've given Kali her old looks back." Whis said. "Even more of the markings on your face are gone, all that remains is the forehead gem, and a few exotic looking marks around your eyes."

"I figured the divine markings were a bit of a pain to deal with. So I added a feature that would hide them. Much like how Gohan's costume was applied from his watch, your body where the markings were visible to the naked eye, is covered in a second layer of an artificial skin." Bulma explained.

"It feels so natural though." Kali said.

"That's because the material's designed to be so thin, it doesn't feel like anything." Bulma stated.

"Thanks Bulma, I'm grateful for this. But what did you need the castle I won in your Bingo game for?" Kali asked.

"I'm modifying it a bit so it's more useful to you, then just some empty place to call home." Bulma said.

"Really?" Kali asked.

"Well not me specifically, I sent Vegeta to an open field with at least a hundred construction bots, with clear instructions on how to operate them, who will take care of what needs to be done. Mr. Popo and Dende are even gonna be adding their own touches to the renovations." Bulma stated. "It'll take a while, but the wait will be worth it in the end."

"Thank you so much Bulma. I can't tell you how grateful I am that you're doing this for me." Kali smiled, hugging Bulma.

"It's my pleasure Kali." Bulma smiled.

"We should get going. I still need to talk with Kali about something." Gohan stated.

"Right. Bye Bulma, see you later Whis. Thanks for the food." Kali said, following Gohan out of there.

"It was no problem Kali. An' Gohan, I left something for you by the reception desk." Bulma said.

"Thanks Bulma."

After picking up what Bulma left for Gohan, the two Saiyans took off and flew as fast as they could, to an area far outside the city and over the ocean, before they reached an island that was very familiar and comforting to Gohan.

"What are we doing on a deserted island Gohan?" Kali asked.

"We're here to train." Gohan said, putting down the bag Bulma left for him, and taking out what was inside. "Give me a moment. Wasn't expecting Bulma to make me this."

Kali just shrugged and went to sit on a rock, looking out to the plain open area with a smile on her face, before she looked down, and noticed a dinosaur with most of its tail missing, and was just starting to grow back.

"No way, is that a dinosaur?" Kali questioned.

"His tail served as a source of protein for me when I was here on this island myself." Gohan stated.

Kali looked back to Gohan and whistled when she saw he was dressed in an orange and blue Gi, just like Goku's, with his glasses gone.

"Dang bro, you've got some muscles under those cardigans." Kali said.

"Thanks." Gohan said.

"So, I know you didn't bring me out here, just to train. What's really going on?" Kali asked, getting to her feet.

"I wanted to talk." Gohan said. "From one Cell Destroyer to another."

Kali sighed, realizing he was aware of something she was trying to keep hidden.

"So you could tell?"

"Kali I'm the only person you know, who's actually managed to defeat one of Gero's biological androids." Gohan said. "The Cell I defeated was no joke. I'm just wanting you to be ready for this fight. Which means putting you through some of the same training, Piccolo put me through."

"Which means, what?"

"Which means, you need to let out all the anxiety you're feeling." Gohan said.

"Gohan I'm not…"

"The fate of nearly eight billion lives rests on your shoulders Kali, you cannot tell me you don't feel any kind of pressure from that." Gohan stated. "I get it, you're a pure blooded Saiyan like our dad, and you have your pride, but you need to let go of who you are trying to be, and just be who you actually are. That was a lesson I learned in the battle against my Cell."

Kali just looked to Gohan, before sighing in defeat and sitting back down on the ground.

"I try to be strong, and I try to be a good team leader for my team. I'm someone they look up to." Kali said, bringing one leg in closer as she hugged it, with the other hanging off the ledge. "Being a team leader isn't just a badge you wear when going into battle. It's something you are 24/7 whether you're in a conflict, or in the base chilling on the couch watching television with your teammates. It's not just my life that I'm in charge of now, it's the lives of my team I'm responsible for, and that was hard enough to deal with when I accepted the position of TL, but now I'm forced to take responsibility for the lives of billions of people."

"That kind of pressure, can cause just about anyone to go mad." Gohan said. "Which is why it's best not to do it alone."

"But I have to do it alone, because I don't want anyone else to get caught up in my battle. In my mess." Kali stated.

"You know… it's okay to feel protective of those you love, to not want to lose them to anything. But it's also okay to let them in, and support you through this fight." Gohan sighed, sitting next to her. "Fighting battles is never easy, it's dangerous, and it's hard to stay focused if your opponent gets in your head. Which is something Cell did with me, before Android16 was killed."

"That's when you unlocked Super Saiyan2, right?" Kali asked.

"It was hard, and tough on my eleven year old body. I wasn't the first to unlock it, but I was the first to perfect it." Gohan said. "Don't tell mom but, since the Cell Games, I've actually been going out and training at night to keep myself fit and capable of protecting my family."

"At least you're capable of fighting Cell." Kali said.

"But I wasn't always." Gohan stated. "Back when dad first found out he was a Saiyan, I was a total crybaby. I wasn't tough at all, and I couldn't even climb down the side of a mountain when Piccolo first brought me to this island to train and prepare when Vegeta and Nappa came to kill dad, and steal the Dragon Balls."

"So that's how Vegeta and Bulma met."

"Actually, they met on Planet Namek." Gohan smiled. "I might have gotten stronger then the previous fight when Vegeta and Nappa came to steal the Dragon Balls, but neither I, nor Vegeta were strong enough to take down the entire Ginyu Force."

"Vegeta told me about them. Gotta admit, he says that your weird posses as Saiyaman gives him flashbacks to the Ginyu Force's team choreography." Kali said.

"It does? Oh man, I thought they were cool." Gohan pouted, causing Kali to laugh.

"But seriously. I get what you're saying." Kali smiled. "I might have to fight Cell alone, but that doesn't mean my friends and teammates won't be there to support me."

"Don't forget your family." Gohan said. "Dad and I will be there to cheer you on, and even some of the others too."

"I appreciate that." Kali smiled, leaning in and resting her head on his shoulder. "It's weird."

"What?"

"We're not fighting like normal sibling do."

"We can easily fix that." Gohan smirked.

"Alright fine. Teach me some of the stuff Piccolo taught you." Kali said.

"First thing's first… DODGE." Gohan shouted throwing a punch.

~Earth Alpha~

"I'm back everyone." Kali called out.

"Welcome back. How was your trip?" Superboy asked.

"Pretty good. Did some training with Gohan, and even made some progress in other areas." Kali said. "Anything new here?"

"Well, Aqualad's managed to figure himself out, and Megan… she's actually reversed something in Wally, making him more tolerable and less creepy." Superboy explained.

"So she's undone some of the trauma my family caused?" Kali asked.

"Yes I did. Wally's back to his old self, just a bit more respectful towards you, Artemis, me, actually women in general." Megan said, floating into the room with a bowl of cookie dough. "But is wasn't easy, let me tell you."

"I'm sorry and I'm grateful at the same time." Kali said.

"So what kind of training did you do with Gohan?"

"We can talk about that later." Kali smiled, hopping on the couch, causing the remote to fly before she caught it as Superboy tried to grab it.

"Hey." He complained.

"Oh please, you watch nothing but the stupid static. Let's watch something for real." Kali smiled, switching the television and putting on, My Hero Academia. "Nice."

"Oh, what episode is this?" Megan asked, apparently a fan of the show herself.

"This is gonna be a long night." Superboy chuckled.

~A/N~

Hope you liked the chapter.

Also, for those who read the originals, I made some major edits to chapters 10,11,&12, and some minor edits to 13, so you might wanna give those another read.

Also, I'm having a really hard time, just settling on a costume for Kali, as you can see.
