Hey there,

This is gonna be a hurt!Harvey series. I'm a hurt/comfort sucker and especially hurt!Harvey fics hahah and since there are only a few of them out there I decided to change that :) It will also include both emotional and physical hurt.

This one is set somehow in season 4 but when Mike left and he and Harvey aren't on good terms.

In this time Marcus and his wife have an severe accident in which Katie dies on the spot…

That's what friends do

Since Mike left the company, the two friends have drifted apart and they only talk about business deals when they meet. Both are sad about it but neither says anything.

Mike accuses Harvey that it's his fault. He didn't believe in him and his idea when Mike came to him with it a few weeks ago and Harvey knows that but doesn't want to admit it.

"...it's over. You lost" says Harvey in an angry voice.

"Nothing's over. And you're the one who lost something today"

"What are you talking about?"

"You went personal. I went personal. Your father's master tapes... I've got them" says Mike looking at him.

"Those tapes havn't nothing to do with this deal" says Harvey in a hurtful voice. He didn't expect that from him. And how does he even know about them?

"They do now" replies Mike and leaves his office.

... ... ...

However, Mike quickly realizes that he has gone too far and gives the tapes to Harvey. He doesn't do it himself, he's too proud for that but he gives them Rachel. Harvey, on the other hand fails to thank him although he is very grateful. He's been trying to get these master tapes for so long and Mike got them for him.

Eventually he plucks up courage and goes to Mike's and Rachel's apartment.

"Harvey, what are you doing here?" he asks surprised.

"I just wanted to thank you... for the tapes. I've been trying to get them for years and... thank you."

"Everybody else would've thanked me days ago." Says Mike in a cold tone.

"I was mad at you for using them against me. I never expected that from you" he tells him honestly.

"I didn't expect what you did either, but you did"

"I had no choice and you know it"

"I doesn't matter. You ruined my case, he doesn't trust me anymore. Drugs are the reason why his son died, you knew that"

"Mike, I didn't come here to fight with you again, I came to say thank you... Have a nice evening" he says and leaves the condo.

"Mike" says Rachel in a calm voice "you're being unfair"

"Seriously Rachel? You are picking his side?"

"I'm not on his side, I'm telling you the truth. This whole thing, it may be his fault because he didn't trust you and your idea but using those tapes against him... that's something even he wouldn't have gone that far and he very often goes too far."

"I know" Mike nods in agreement. "That's why I gave them back to him"

"but you didn't tell him"

"he didn't say he's sorry either"

"because he saved you, Mike! And he probably didn't say it 'cause if he had to he'd do it again, to save you"

"He could say it anyway. At least that he's sorry he had to do it"

"You're being childish Mike"

"Rachel, drop it. I'm not in the mood to fight with you because of this" he says and leaves towards the kitchen to get a glass of scotch.

Two weeks later the situation is no better. They're growing further apart and haven't spoken to each other since Harvey thanked him. Mike is also back with Pearson Specter but he hasn't had a case with Harvey yet.

Tomorrow he has an important meeting with Louis and he can't miss it. Louis is very happy that Mike is now working with him. He enjoys it and rubs it in Harvey's face at every opportunity, knowing full well that it hurts him.

It's 5:40am when Mike's cell phone rings. When he looks at his it, he sees Donna's name on the screen.

"Donna? are you alright" asks Mike worried.

"No" she says crying

"Donna, what is it?"

"He needs you, Mike"

"w- what happened?"

"it's Marcus… he- he and Katie had an accident tonight" she can hardly speak for crying.

"Is he?" Donna shakes her head as if Mike could see.

"No, he's in surgeary but Katie... she…"

"Oh my god" whispers Mike and closes his eyes. "where is he?"

"On his way to Boston. He caught the first flight"

"I'll look for the next one"

"Thank you Mike" she says and hangs up.

Donna wants to go herself, but she's eight months pregnant and flying isn't very ideal. Also, she had problems during her pregnancy and they don't want to take any risks. She hates leaving him alone now. She wanted to go with him, she feels fine and there are still a few weeks until the birth but Harvey said no.

"I'll be okay" he said and kissed her before he left. They both knew it's a lie but what else is he supposed to say?

"Mike? Who was it that early" asks Rachel in a sleepy voice.

"Donna… "

"What's wrong? Is Everything okay with the baby?" She asks eagerly.

"It's Marcus… he and Katie had an accident tonight… she's gone and he… he's in surgery"

"Oh my god!" Rachel starts crying immerdiatly.

"I have to go to Boston" he says and she nods "of course. I'll book your flight and then I go to Donna"

"Thank you Rachel" he says and hugs her tight.

Mike takes the first plane to Boston he can get. When he arrives at the hospital, he finds Lily sitting on a chair and waiting for news.

"Are you Lily Specter?" asks Mike softly

She lifts her head and looks at him

"Yes, who are you?"

"I'm Mike Ross, I'm Harvey's…"

"Associate" she interrupts him

"Yes. Where is he?"

She shakes her head "I don't know, he said he needed fresh air and left" Mike nods "Any news?"

"No, nothing. They say his surgery went well but he has severe injuries and he his heart stopped beating for a long time… They wouldn't let us see him after the surgery" she sniffs.

"I'm sorry" Mike says softly "Do you need anything?"

"No, thank you" she says with a sad smile "Okay, I'll go look for Harvey"

Mike sees Harvey sitting on the right side of bench a few meters from the entry and goes over to him. He's sitting there, looking down while his elbows rests on his kness.

"Hey" calls Mike softly but he doesn't seem to notice him. So Mike puts a hand on his friends shoulder "Harvey" he calls him and he flinches.

"Mike" says Harvey surprised. "Wh- what are you doing here?"

"Donna told me" he kneels next to him. Harvey smiles slightly "Of course she did" he says lowly.

"why are you here, Mike? I thought you're mad at me"

"I am… I was" he corrects but it was about business. This here is personal and you're my friend" he says softly.

"You said it was personal when you came in my office"

"I was wrong, that's why I gave you your tapes back. I know you had to do it!" He assures him while Harvey just nods.

"You wanna be alone?" He shakes his head "No" he whispers. Then Mike gets up and sits next to him on the bench.

"How is he?"

Harvey shakes his head "we don't know. They won't let us see him. He was in surgary for hours" he stops shortly to gather himself "he's not outa the woods yet and Katie..." he can't finish the sentence.

"I'm so sorry Harvey" he says not knowing what else to say. He knows that right now there's nothing he can say or do to make him feel better. So he just puts a hand on Harvey's shoulder and they sit there for a while in silence.

"You should go back, I know you and Louis have an important meeting today and he'll be mad if…"

"I don't care about that case, this meeting is important but it's about money. This here is about your family." He says firmly

"Mike…?" He asks

"No Harvey! Right now I care about that case as mush as you do, okay?" Harvey nods "Thank you" he says eventually.

A few hours later they"re finally allowed to see Marcus. He's still very weak and they still have to wait but they can see him.

He has severe internal injuries and a broken leg and arm. But the greatest concern for the doctors is his head injury. They can't assess the damage before he wakes up.

"Oh my god, my little boy" says Lily crying. She's happy that at least Harvey is there right now and that he's there for her as best he can even thought that hadn't spoke in years. She knows how close the brothers are, even if they rarely see each other. She knew he wouldn't talk to her about his feelings, so she's very grateful to Mike for coming.

"Marcus" says Harvey taking his hand. "You gotta fight, okay?" He doesn't know what to say or what to do, he never wanted to see his brother that way. He always wanted to protect him and now when he needs it most he can't do nothing and he hates it.

"The children need you and not only them, I- I need you, too. Your my little brother" he takes a deep breathe "you need to fight, okay?" He says while a tear rolls down his cheek.

… … …

A few hours later, Lilly goes home against her will. She almost fell over and Marcus' children ask about their parents all the time. Harvey was able to convince her that on the one hand she could rest and on the other hand calm down the children a little. He hasn't spoken in years with her but right know all his anger is gone. The only thing he cares about right know is Marcus and his children who already lost their mother.

Mike enters Marcus' room.

"Here" says Mike and hands him a coffee mug and a bagel.

"Thank you" he says taking the coffe "but I'm not hungry"

"Harvey you need to eat something or you're gonna collapse yourself" he tells him softly.

"Come on, half at least" and still keeps the hand with the bagel in front of him and finally Harvey takes it. He eats barely three bites, but it's better than nothing. Without Mike he probably wouldn't have drunk anything either, no coffee, no water, nothing at all. He really appreciates him being there for him. Just as he is about to speak to tell him that, the monitors start beeping irregularly.

"Marcus! Marcus!" Harvey jumps off the chair throwing his coffe on the floor. "Marcus!" and suddenly a lot of doctors gather around his brother and push him away.

"Get out" yells one of the doctors, but Harvey ignores him.

"Mr. Specter out! We take care of him" A young doctor approaches him and wants to accompany him outside, but Harvey fights back "Let me go! MARCUS!" he shouts desperately, and suddenly the fast beeps turns into a long one. His heart stops beating.

Now Mike reacts too and they bring him out. He tries in vain to free himself from Mike's grip. "NO, Mardcus! Mike let me go!" he yells

"Harvey, Harvey stop! Let them do their job" Harvey breaths heavily and stops fighting. Mike leads him to the chairs in front of Marcus door. Mike holds him tight while Harvey can't hold back his tears. He doesn't really care that Mike sees it, he just can't avoid it.

"He can't die. He can't die" he whispers.

Mike squeezes his hand

"He won't, he won't. you need to have faith in him. He'll fight" he tries.

"The children have already lost their mother, if they..." he breaks.

Mike doesn't know what to do or what to say. He knows what it's like to lose both parents overnight.

"If he… how are they supposed to deal with that?"

"Don't think about it Harvey. as long as you don't know, you shouldn't think about anything else."

"They lost their mother, Mike… she's gone… they need him" he sniffs and then looks shocked at Mike.

"oh my got Mike, I- I'm sorry, I completely forgot..."

But Mike shakes his head

"It's okay Harvey"

"No, no it's not. You lost your parents, you know what it's like and I-"

"Hey" he strokes his back "you're worried, it's normal Harvey. Yeah, I know how worse this is and I really don't want them to have this experience but right now we have to trust that he'll make it, okay?"

"But what if... if he doesn't make it?" Mike exhales

"I only had my grammy on family, I loved her and I'm so grateful for everything she's done for me but... sometimes I wished I had someone else, too. They have Katie's parents, Lily, Bobby... and they have you Harvey"

"They don't even know me properly"

"They love you anyways"

"How do you wanna know that? You never met them"

"But I met Marcus and he told me"

Harvey looks at him surprised but with a questioning look.

"Last time he visited you and we were waiting for you in your apartment because your appointment was longer than expected. He told me how much the children love you and how proud he is to tell everyone that he's the brother of the great Harvey Specter" Mike smiles

"He is?" he swallows and MIke nods

"he is... I mean who wouldn't be? I've always been proud to say I'm your associate" Mike admits. Harvey doesn't know what to answer to that, everything he just heard; he is overwhelming.

"Thank you Mike… for coming… for being there for me. I really appreciate that" he says giving him a smile.

"You don't have to thank me, that's what friends do" he answers.

… … …

The doctors managed to get Marcus back and a few days later he was out of the woods. He was in intensive care for a few days but was then transferred to the regular ward. Katie's death came as a shock to him and he's suffering but he knows he won't be alone.
