Hi, so here we are again! Once again I am going back to this wonderful fandom that gave me so much over the course of my writing. I know I have took a bit of a long break from this fandom but I recently watched all the first six series of OUAT and the idea's kept popping into my head left, right and centre starting with this one.
I love Outlaw Queen. I love Regina, I don't why everyone got to be with the person they loved but her. I honestly don't know what the point of that ending for her in Season 7 was but then I don't get the point of Season 7 at all to be honest. So this is my stab at giving her something-eg, a happy ending with Robin with no Marian.
On that note-I have a love/hate relationship with the Charmings, Seasons 1, 3, 5 they are fine, Season 2 ish, 4 okay until we get to the last bit, but Season 6...that bit with Snow, Emma and Belle about Gideon is a scene that makes me so angry I have to stop watching. So yeah...if you are looking for a lovey dovey on the ball happy Charming story this isn't going to be it. To be honest at times Emma gets on my nerves when it comes to Regina so...I will try and keep this as neutral as possible but the Charmings especially Snow are not my favourite characters nor will they ever be.
Disclaimer-Nothing is mine I am just playing with the characters.
I predict this is going to be twenty chapters long. And there will be a few chapters set in the Enchanted Forest.
Please Read and Review and let me know what you think and I will try and update as soon as work and life allows me.
Also I am not great with spelling and grammar. Nor is this story going to be cannon or dialogue compliment. Something to have in mind if that's your thing.
And there will be some swearing in this story so keep that in mind.
As of now I am not taking prompts nor I am answers PMs so please do keep that in mind too. Any questions leave it in a review and I will try and answer it in the notes part of each story.
Storybook Love (Every Version Of You)
Chapter 6-Severence
Robin's point of view of this chapter (Chapter 5)
The things you do for friendship.
Okay that was a complete lie. He would have done this even without one of his oldest friends now a flying monkey. He would have poked around for fun really. A nice thief he might be but he was a thief and sometimes it was just fun. You didn't have to steal things to break into a house. Sometimes the challenge was enough.
God he sounded like Will Scarlett. That was just all that he needed. Will.
He sighed looking around. Robin didn't understand half of what this shit was. But whatever 'BAT GUANA' was did not sound good. He also did not know what 'PEANUT BUTTER' was either but that didn't look very edible either.
It was then that he heard the footsteps.
And it was then that he met her.
She was the woman they called Regina, or more commonly the Evil Queen. Robin's memories from the past few years might have been shot to shit but his memories were still there before. He knew that more than once he had ended up on her list of outlaws to kill.
What he had not factored on was that she would be that pregnant and also well…that beautiful.
There had been something about her, something about the way that she had effortlessly caught his arrow, something about the way she had dropped it into his hand and something about the way that she had looked at him that had made him want to drop his crossbow to the floor and take her right there and then. He wanted to curve his body over hers and promise her and her unborn baby his complete affection, his adoration, his protection…his love.
And then she had fainted in his arms.
All in all it was not what one would have considered the most romantic of settings even by his standards and as Little John had once told him his standards of romance was low…
Hey he was the single parent of a motherless child he'd been raising since birth it wasn't like he had a lot of options in the forest for the grand gesture!
But there was still something to be said for what to do when a heavily pregnant woman fainted in his arms her baby kicking against his hip.
God he remembered it well.
And so he walked back into the Wicked Witches house and put the Evil Queen down on the bed.
Well…even by Robin's standards that was a sentence that he never thought that he would say.
He only had Marian's pregnancy to go on when it came to tending to the sick and the pregnant and that by it's very definition had not been easy. He did not know what a healthy pregnancy looked like. Roland had slithered out of his wife and then she'd battled childbed fever for weeks. Even with that damn wand he'd stolen that had nearly cost him his life he had not been able to get her as right as she had been before Roland.
When her eyelids fluttered he was struck with a memory of cool sheets, fingertips brushing down skin and giggling that he didn't understand. It was a memory he couldn't place and as she looked at him with that post awakening look, sleepy and dazed and easy he found that he had the sudden urge to crawl into the bed with her and place his hand on her belly and stay there forevermore.
Clearly he was having a breakdown.
"Hello" she said and then she pushed herself up into a sitting position as best she could.
"Easy there" he said helping her into a sitting position. "Easy My Lady. You fainted"
She stared down at his hand as he helped her up but still he could not even think about removing it. He had some foolish notion of removing his hand rather than removing it from her.
It was all dreadfully odd.
"Well that was humiliating wasn't it?"
She meant it as a joke and he knew it, his own response sometimes in crisis was to use humour as a defence mechanism. It was something to know that she had a sense of humour he had to say.
"Ah none of that" he said gently rubbing his thumb against the back of her hand. "None of that my lady. Pregnancy is a hard journey, when my wife God rest her soul was pregnant with our boy she was sick too. It happens…it is not a sign of weakness"
She nodded running a hand through her hair and sitting up straighter.
"Thank you for coming to my assistance. I thought…I thought you were a flying monkey"
He smiled and she smiled back. He could not help but think that as she tried to put herself together again she was adorable. It was of course suicide to think of such things about the Evil Queen herself but that being said Robin had never had what one might say…sense about woman.
"Not a flying monkey…but one of my men was turned into one by him…I wanted to make sure that this house held no cure to what had happened to him and I wanted to make sure that it was secured—"
"I thought Emma did that"
"I don't trust those gun thingies" he said with a grin.
"I take it then that you are from our Land?"
"I am…my name is Robin…Robin of Locksley…or as my enemies called me…Robin Hood"
Something warred between those dark eyes and he wondered if maybe she knew it. He didn't know how much she knew. He knew that she was claiming she had no idea what had happened to their missing year but most people took that with a pinch of salt. He didn't know weather or not she was truthful but he felt like she was in this moment with him.
Yes…he thought that she was being truthful.
In truth for himself if was like the world outside this room didn't matter. Wicked Witches and Dark Ones and Evil Queens and Saviours and missing years. It didn't matter as long as she and her baby were alright, as long as they both remained safe. He could not recall feeling this strongly about someone or something other than his son before. Not even Marian had managed to inspire this amount of dedication in him.
"My name is Regina"
"I know"
"You do?"
"I hear things" he said brushing aside the fact that she was the Evil Queen with a wave of his hands.
"Okay."
"Are you well enough to stand"
"I am" she said even though he didn't believe her and he was not sure that she believed herself.
"I heard that you had woken up pregnant but had no knowledge of how you'd got there" he said cheerfully. "I…I can only imagine what the shock of that must have been."
IDIOT, FUCKING IDIOT he screamed. Of course it was a shock! Parenthood was a shock even if you were expecting it. God knows he would know.
"Thank you" She said straightening her coat and not looking at him. Robin couldn't blame her after that idiotic statement but he found that he wanted her eyes back on him, he wanted her eyes on him at all times.
They were beautiful eyes.
And he was an IDIOT. A LOVESICK IDIOT WHO NEVER LEARNED FROM HIS MISTAKES BECAUSE HE WAS NOT SURE HOW LONG HE WAS GOING TO BE HERE BUT DON'T YOU THINK THAT FLIRTING WITH THE PREGNANT EVIL QUEEN WAS PUSHING IT A BIT ROBIN?
"I am not working with the Wicked Witch" he said finally. "Rest assured My Lady—"
"Regina"
"It's not really appropriate is it?"
"Please" she said standing up. She winced as her boots hit hard floor and then he saw herself steady again. "I don't want to ruin this bubble of yours but I am hardly the woman I once was. I just…I appreciate your help. Call me Regina and I will call you Robin and we will call an end to this entire humiliation"
"It's not a humiliation"
"For me it is. I don't do weakness"
He rolled his eyes.
"God help me" he said to the ceiling. "Another stubborn woman"
He couldn't help himself he really couldn't. He didn't know what it was with the woman in this world…none of them seemed to want to accept help when it was offered. Now Robin found a stubborn woman as attractive as the next but still…this was pushing it a bit too far in his humble opinion.
She raised one eyebrow but then…
Then she stopped. She stopped talking, stopped moving, stopped everything. It was like she had frozen in time and then slowly watching her he saw that she looked down at her stomach her eyes wide and he followed fear suddenly in his heart jackrabbiting away.
He hoped she was not in labour. It had been a long time since he had been able to do that…well…not do that as Marian had told him but you know…catch, catch, brace, brace, brace. That kind of thing. He didn't know weather or not he could do that and certainly not here in the Wicked Witch's house…looking up the Evil Queen's…well…that was not part of the plan you understand.
"What? Regina what?"
"My baby"
"What…oh God it's not coming is it?"
"No…it's not moving…before…it was kicking away and I—"
"Okay" he said and this time he did cup her face in his hands and forced her to look at her. "Okay don't panic—"
And he meant it, there had been many a time in pregnancy where Roland had stopped kicking and Robin had always believed it was because he was sleeping, safe and sound, warm in his mother's belly.
"But—"
"STOP PANICKING" he said firmly. "They pick up on it oaky…now you fainted…so maybe the baby got dizzy or something…it takes time…we don't panic okay…can I touch you?"
She stared at him her eyes wide with panic and then she nodded. It took him a second to realise that she was somewhat surprised that he was asking her for permission to touch her. He felt somewhat staggered by this realisation. He knew she had been married before and he wondered for one heartbeat of a second within a second, what kind of marriage that had been for her to to look like that at him when he asked if he could touch her.
Gently at her nod he put his hand on her belly. It was odd. He had done this with Marian and felt the same overwhelming possessiveness hit him. The same love that he had whenever he looked at his son. There was a baby inside of her belly, a real life baby inside of her kicking away and he waiting patiently for what he was waiting for.
Come on little one, kick for me please.
It was as if the baby had heard his plea.
"There you go" he said as she bit back a sob and he knew that the relief on her face was the same that was coursing through his veins.
She pulled back wiping her eyes and he smiled at her and then pulled his hand off her bump. It felt wrong he realised a second later. It felt like his hand belonged to someone else. He wanted to feel the baby kick a bit longer. Ten seconds in the presence of this woman and Evil Queen or not he was here, protective of her, possessive of her.
The depths of his feelings were staggering.
She shuddered leaning forwards into his arms burying her face in his neck and breathing in and breathing out.
"There you go" he murmured into her hair again more to reassure himself than her.
His heart was still beating like a jackrabbit.
"Thank you" she said wiping her eyes. And then…
"Can we start again?"
He smiled at her trying to get himself under control.
"Sure we can" and then he held out his hand.
"Robin"
"Regina"
And the rest they say…or they would say later…was history.
And there you go! I will update as soon as I can.
Next Chapter-Regina and Robin get to talking and learning about the other as they search the Wicked Witch's house.
