A few weeks after setting out on their journey, June and Jack were stopped on the side of the road taking a break.

"How far are we from that city you sensed earlier?" asked June before taking a sip of water from a bottle she had.

"About thirty minutes," said Jack, who was still on her back.

"And I can sense thousands of living people there which tells me it must be one of the military sights from when they started the evacuations when the apocalypse began," he said.

"What about monsters, are there any around the place?" asked June.

"A couple dozen or so zombies but that's it," said Jack.

"Then let's head out, if Rezzoch is there who knows how strong he's gotten already," said Jun before they got back on the ATV. A short time later, she had come to a road block set up outside of a large walled off city.

"Who are you?" asked a man standing guard with a gun in his hand.

"I'm June Del Toro, I came from Wakefield Massachusetts," said June.

"There are still people out there?" asked the other guard.

"My friend and I have managed to survive and even befriended some of the monsters that are in our town," said June.

"They all aren't that bad actually when you get to know someone of them," she said.

"First time I've heard anything like that," said the first guard.

"June, on your right," said Jack out loud.

"Did that spear just talk?!" asked the second guard. However, the conversation was cut short there as a horde of zombies came out of a large drainage pipe. Their numbers reached several dozen in a few seconds.

"Time to slay some undead," said June before rushing the horde with Jack in hand.
