All in Good Time

"Ugh, I hate cleaning. What's the point, it'll just get dirty again." Korra grumbled after wiping the dust off Asami's desk with a cloth, the black lacquer surface showing off her grumpy expression.

Asami busied herself with placing files marked "Important!" in the drawers she meticulously organized in her office. She let out a small laugh, knowing that Korra wasn't much for being neat and tidy, nor was she fond of doing chores.

"Korra, my office has to be organized and clean. Besides, nothing would get done if everything was all scattered about." Asami said after placing the papers in their designated file cabinet, and closing the drawers.

"Yeah, yeah, you got a point there." Korra replied.

"And please be gentle with what's on my desk."

"Okay."

It felt like an eternity, but it was only a good 20 minutes when Korra finished dusting the desk and then placed the last item on the desk, exactly where Asami said to place it.

Letting out a sigh of relief and accomplishment, Korra placed her hands on her hips, admiring her work on the desk. The desk was free of dust, the workspace looked spic and span, and the pens, pencils, calculator, were right where they should be

It looked way better than it did a while ago.

"Whoa, Korra, great job on my desk." Asami said, her eyes alit as she walked into her office, with Korra turning to meet her gaze.

"Ah, you know, that wasn't so bad after all, go figure." Korra shrugged, beaming slightly. "Anything else we have to clean?"

Asami laughed and shook her head. "No, everything looks great. I knew I could trust you."

Korra smiled, and then Asami walked closer to her, lacing her hands with Korra's own.

"We should head back home, maybe we can get something to eat on the way, my treat."

Korra blinked, and then her smile grew wide, she nodded. "Great!"

Asami shrugged. "It's the least I could do." .

With that said, Korra and Asami walked out of the office, hand in hand, with Asami locking the door behind them, looking forward to what the rest of the day awaited them.
