Kate and Humphrey looked at the cub and back at each other completely unsure of what to do, they wanted to help this cub find his mom but this is a bear cub they were talking about, bears do not play when it comes to the well being of their pups and Humphrey and Kate remembered the last time they messed with a bear cub, and they wanted to continue with their lives without having another bad encounter with a bear. "Kate let's just walk away and forget we saw him."Humphrey said in her ear Kate really really wanted to do that but she was unable to let this bear cub wander around the forest all by himself,as a mother herself, she couldn't live with herself knowing that if something terrible were to happen to Brent,an event that could've been prevented if they helped him.
Kate let out a sigh knowing she'll regret this as she turned to Humphrey "We have to help him." "What?!"Humphrey exclaimed in shock "We can't let him roam around the forest alone,what kind of example will be setting for our pups,and the pups of the tribe?"Kate asked as Humphrey stood there trying to come up with a answer, "We'll get you back to your mom Brent."Kate said with a smile "Just tell her not to kill us." making Brent look at them in confusion "Ignore him."Kate said casting Humphrey a look.
Meanwhile Elsewhere
Stinky,Claudette and a few alpha pups were running around in a big circle, panting heavily as their hearts beated as fast as thunder, Stinky and Claudette were running neck and neck ahead of the group and they were absolutely enjoying themselves as a little sibling competition always kept them amused. It was then Stinky and Claudette saw two figures ahead of them, they immediately slowed down and stop in front of them and it was clear that it was two young male foxes, they saw that one of them had a Red colored tail and the other was a crimson color. The pups stared at the foxes with bewilderment and confusion as they were wondering why they were there in a wolf tribe territory "uhh hello?"Stinky greeted "Hello."the foxes said in unison then there was an awkward silence for a few seconds "Uh...what are your names?"Claudette asked "I'm Redtail and this is my brother Crimson."Redtail said pointing to his brother.
Stinky though that those were pretty cool names better than Runt and Stinky, "Well I'm Claudette and this is my brother Stinky."Claudette said making Redtail and crimson look at him funny "Is that a nickname?"Crimson asked "No it's my... actual name."Stinky said with disappointment and Claudette nodded "If you think his name is horrible we have a little brother named Runt."Claudette said making Redtail and crimson wince a little.
"Yeah so anyway, uh what are you two doing in our territory?"Stinky asked crossing his arms Redtail's eyes darted around "uhhh i...don't know,me and Crimson were messing around and we got lost and found our way here."Redtail explained making the group mutter among themselves "so you guys got lost and found our territory by accident?"A male pup asked with a raised eyebrow making Crimson narrow his eyes "ok I see what you mean you think we're here to cause trouble?"
"Well are you?"a female pup asked accusingly "No no we're genuinely lost, our parents and sister are probably worried sick about us."Redtail said rather urgently the other pups weren't sure if they could be trusted because they learned about foxes in alpha school, Stinky and Claudette were on the fence as well although Stinky could detect the seriousness in Redtail's voice although he remembered that Foxes are silver tongued and talented liars, but there was only one way to find out if they're telling the truth or not.
"Let's take them to mom and dad they'll know what to do."Claudette said as he motioned for Redtail and Crimson to follow her and they did much to the dismay of the other pups who still didn't trust the foxes.
Meanwhile
After the game of hide and seek Runt and Scarlet roamed the snow covered field as wolves played around them although some of them noticed Scarlet and were staring at her with bewilderment with a little hint of concern. "So this is the famous United Tribe,It's so peaceful and lovely here."Scarlet commented making Runt nodded in agreement "And it's amazing that alphas and Omegas can marry here, strange it's not like that in other tribes."Scarlet pointed out "Yeah we're kind of the odd ones out,my mom and dad choose to follow their hearts and ambolish the alpha and Omega laws."
"Your mother and father is Kate and Humphrey right?"Scarlet asked for clarification on the matter which suprised Runt a little bit because he never told her his mother and father's name and it felt more than just a lucky guess "how did you know my parents names?"Runt asked curiously "Oh because my mom and dad told me,my parents and Kate met years ago."
Runt was absolutely surprised by this Kate hadn't mentioned meeting foxes before,she must've thought it wasn't exactly relevant but then again she always told us that not all foxes were the same,her parents must have shown her that. "Did your parents tell you how they met my mom?"
"Yeah she said that dad and her had an scary encounter with two wolves from here named Link and Lyle,who tried to seriously hurt them when they refused them refuge from the wrath of Kate when they pulled a mean prank on her."Scarlet said making Runt's eyes widen in surprise he knew of Link and Lyle and he knew they were the biggest idiots on Earth but hearing that they tried to kill two innocent creatures was absolutely upsetting and the fact that they pulled some mean joke on mom was even more upsetting.
Scarlet looked around with nervousness on her face "Wait are they still here?"Scarlet asked with a whimper Runt saw no use in lying to her as they could run into if luck wasn't on their side, "yes they are still here,but don't worry they won't hurt you,they wouldn't risk getting their teeth kicked in by every alpha here."runt said knowing that even if the pup was a fox or a coyote if you're seen hurting one by any self-respecting alpha who wont stand for it,you better say your prayers.
