Later on in the week, Stewart finally had some time off of work so he invited Rory over to his apartment for pizza and a movie one evening. Rory had come straight from work so she headed to the bathroom to freshen up and change into leggings and a sweatshirt. While she did that, Stewart placed an order for pizza delivery and queued up a movie. Talladega Nights was one of their favorites. It was silly, funny and had Will Ferrell - they loved it.

Rory came out of the bathroom with her hair up and her shoes in her hand. She collapsed on the couch next to Stewart who pulled her into his side. "Babe, its really good to see you! I've missed you." He kissed the top of her head as she put her head on his shoulder.

She squeezed the hand on her shoulder and looked up at him, "I've missed you too." He squeezed her shoulder and pressed play on the movie. About five minutes into the movie, she grabbed the remote and pressed pause.

"What's up?" he asked.

"I've been meaning to ask you - how did you meet Logan?" she asked quietly.

"Oh, well, I think I can tell you this without violating the HIPPA agreement. I think so anyway," he said cautiously. "He met a woman on the street who needed to come to the hospital. She was a total stranger to him but he was there and called 911 for her. Then he went to the hospital with her and waited until her husband got there." Stewart shrugged.

Rory nodded slowly, "Wow, that's generous. Especially since he hates that place."

"Yeah? Why?" Stewart asked.

"Well," she said slowly, "When he was in his senior year of college, he went base jumping and his parachute didn't open. He had to be airlifted there. He was there for a while and had several surgeries."

Stewart nodded, "That explains a lot. The woman's husband was across the country on business so Logan chartered a flight for the guy to get right back - then had a helicopter waiting at the airport to take the husband straight to the hospital. Landed on the roof and everything! It was wild. I recognized him from your umbrella picture so I asked him if he went to Yale and that's how we started talking."

"That sounds like Logan. He always loved planes and things like that. Was he nice to you?" she asked.

"Yeah, sure. He was very nice," Stewart said. "Did you think he wouldn't be?"

Rory shrugged, "I wasn't sure. We didn't part on great terms really, so I wasn't sure how pissed he was."

Stewart nodded, "I don't think he's mad. He asked about you and I told him we're getting married." He grinned, "I love telling people that we're getting married!"

Rory giggled, "Me too!" She leaned over and gave him a peck on the lips. Then she sat back and faced him. "So, what's your mom's deal? I didn't even know she knew Logan or his family. What happened?"

He shook his head and shrugged, "I think she had lunch with Emily. They ran into Logan's sister and my mom found out that you used to date him. I guess she heard about him in the news and decided that he was the anti-Christ or something. Now she's been on this thing about assuming that you didn't tell me that you dated him and etc. She's acting like he was one of the Menendez Brothers or something. Dinner the other night wasn't the first time she brought it up."

Rory sighed, "Am I doing something to worry her? Or is there something I could say to her to get her to chill out? I hate all of this tension..."

He shook his head again and said, "No, I don't think so. All of a sudden she decided that she hates the Huntzbergers - people that I didn't know she had ever heard of before. The whole thing is nuts." He hugged her and then asked, "Do you think you can put this out of your head?"

She furrowed her brow and said, "Well, it just makes everything awkward. I thought she liked me but now I'm not sure she ever did if she can go off the rails because of someone I used to know. I haven't even seen or spoken to Logan since I graduated college. Its been YEARS."

"Oh babe, I know. Its not like you two were serious or anything. She will figure that out eventually," he said as the doorbell rang. "Let me grab the pizza." He got up and got the pizza which he brought to the coffee table while Rory went to the kitchen for plates and soda.

They each grabbed pizza and settled back on the couch to watch more Ricky Bobby. Rory didn't touch her pizza and sat there with pursed lips. Finally he paused the movie and asked, "Okay, what now?"

"Well, you made it sound like Logan and I were casual. We weren't. We were together for a three years - we even lived together." She sat back and frowned. "We were so in love."

Stewart put his plate on the coffee table and put his hands in his lap and asked, "So what happened?"

She took a deep breath and blew it out in a loud huff, "I haven't even thought about this is so long. It hurt so much when it happened." She wiped a tear away and said, "He asked me to marry him. He was taking a job in San Francisco. I would have had to move with him there. It was in the process of graduating Yale - all I've ever wanted was to work in journalism. His family owns so many papers and I didn't want anyone to think it was nepotism. I also wanted to figure out my stuff on my own. He wanted all or nothing. So we broke up. I haven't seen or spoken to him since the day I graduated college."

Stewart took her hand and asked, "Are you okay?"

She nodded and sniffled, "I'm sorry. I'm not crying about HIM. I'm crying because it hurt so much when it ended."

"I hate to ask, but isn't that the same thing?" he asked quietly.

"No! I'm completely done with Logan. I'm certain he's done with me. Anyway, I'm glad you finally know that he proposed marriage and I said no." Rory said while looking at him.

"Right," Stewart said with his lips in a tight line across his face.

"Stewart, I love you." she said while looking at him.

He leaned forward and took his plate again. He sighed and said, "I know. I love you too." Then he pressed play on the movie.
