"That's the last one," said Jack as he was pulled free from a zombie's head.

"None of them had a blue glow coming from them nor spoke a single word though," said June while wiping blood off of Jack's blade.

"That means Rezzoch is still in there and we have to find him and soon," she said.

"Put your hands up!" said the first guard as he and several others stood around June suddenly with their guns aimed at her.

"I'm not going to hurt any of you," said June while putting Jack back on her back.

"You have a magical weapon on you and just took out who knows how many zombies, what do you expect us to think?" asked another guard as they all kept their weapons held on her.

"My weapon has my boyfriend's soul in it," said June.

"And we'll leave if you don't trust us, we have other things to worry about than a bunch of people thinking we're the enemy," said Jack.

"You're not going anywhere," said another guard.

"Put your weapons down," said a man who walked up to them.

"If she wanted to kill you then I'm sure she would have by now even with all your weapons on her," he said as some of the guards moved to allow him to the front of their group.

"But sir," said the first guard.

"I said put them down," said the man in a tone of voice that instantly made some of the guys break out into cold sweats and caused them all to put their guns away.

"You the boss around here?" asked June.

"I'm the mayor of this city, name's George Kay, I used to be a member of the US Army along with the rest of these guys but things happened and I found myself being the mayor," said the man while holding out his hand.

"Well it's nice to meet you, I'm June Del Toro, and this is Jack Sullivan," said June while shaking his hand.

"I'm sure, you two have quite the story," said Mayor Kay.

"You probably won't believe us," said Jack.

"Son, I'll believe just about anything nowadays," said Mayor Kay before motioning for them to follow him into the city.
