Today, Y/n had plans. Plans to go out with friends.
Lately, y/n had been hanging out with Sano a lot which led them to become friends with one of Sano's friends - Tachibana Hinata. Y/n and Tachibana got along really well, even though they had different personalities, their friendship grew well. In y/n's opinion, Tachibana was an innocent girl. Not to mention, as soon as Y/n detected such innocence, they were certainly intrigued. Intrigued in Tachibana to know her perspective of things and situations which y/n would find difficult to deal with. In other words, Y/n was fascinated by others thoughts. Even if they were completely different and conflicting from their own's.
Back to today's plan, Tachibana had planned this hangout. She wanted to go to the mall with Sano and Y/n. And so, Y/n was now with the said girls, here.
Sano said smiling, "Guys, let's first go to that store." She pointed towards a Visvim store and everybody agreed.
Tachibana and Sano looked through the women's section to find anything of their choice while y/n surfed through the unisex section. Y/n had an eye for good fashion and had a certain style, so it took them some time to find anything which matched them.
"Emma! Y/n! Look at these! How do they look?" Called Tachibana trying on a pair of brown moccasin sneakers.
Sano turned towards her and exclaimed, "Amazing!" Tachibana widely smiled and said "I'm gonna get these!"
"Agreed. You make everything look amazing Hina." Y/n complimented which made Tachibana blush and giggle a thanks. Then Tachibana asked y/n, "Y/n, I need your help with finding a pair for someone."
'Who?'
Y/n thought. And immediately it was answered, "Actually I haven't told you this.. I have a boyfriend. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before because I just didn't think about bringing it up in our conversations before. But yeah, I need your help to find a good pair for my boyfriend with me.." Tachibana completed with a shy expression looking elsewhere. Y/n felt betrayed a bit but didn't mind it much and agreed to help her out. "Sure. I'm kinda sad you didn't tell me before so now you gotta make up for it by telling me who he is though." Y/n finished with a smile to which Tachibana replied, "Of course. I'll show you our picture together later. Let's go find something for him and I'll tell you simultaneously." And all three of them explored through the men's section.
"Tachibana, you really surprised me." y/n laughed at the end.
"Did you know about this Emma?" Y/n questioned guessing that they were the only one who was kept in the dark.
"Yep." Sano replied with a mischievous giggle and with guilt Tachibana explained to you, "I'm sorry again, I'll tell you now - he is a delinquent. And him being a delinquent doesn't really come off as a good impression on others if I talk about him..so that's the reason I did not tell you before. It isn't like I thought you would judge me, but I just like to be careful ever since I've told my parents about him."
'A delinquent? Interesting.' thought Y/n. This information certainly piqued more interest in them.
"I can understand that. Parents don't really like having their kids in the company of violent people. And I get you. Tell me more." Demanded Y/n while looking through various shoes.
"Yeah..my parents especially don't like him after I revealed he is a delinquent. Though I tried to convince them he isn't violent or bad, my father didn't really believe me..but anyways, he is a good guy. He cares about me a lot and is a great boyfriend." Tachibana finished with a proud smile.
"Cares about me a lot and is a great boyfriend" Sano mimicked her with an ugly expression and added, "Girl when was the last time he came to visit you?"
"Stop asking me that Emma chan! He's great okay!" Tachibana defended her boyfriend making both Y/n and Sano laugh. Suddenly, Sano's phone rang making her excuse herself out of the store. And Y/n and Tachibana continued on the topic.
"But, his delinquent life worries me a lot." Tachibana suddenly admitted. Her expression turned dull which made Y/n put more attention to her. They listened carefully as Tachibana continued, "He cares a lot about his gang members, and for them he's got beaten up to pulp many times before. I know his care for his friends is a good thing but going that far too many times just makes me worry about him. What if something serious happens to him?" Tachibana showed concern.
'A delinquent which cares about his gang members? Do such delinquents exist?'
Y/n pondered about it since they haven't really come across any hoodlums who possessed such loyalty.
Tachibana continued, "Everytime I see him, he always shows up with new bandages and scars on his face. I'm just sick of seeing him like that."
Hearing all this just put Y/n more in question about who this delinquent is. Y/n got more curious about the said hoodlum.
"What's his name?" Y/n questioned.
"Hanagaki Takemichi."
'Oh? So it's him?' Y/n thought back to when they were gathering info about Tokyo manji gang for Koko. They didn't really dig into Hanagaki because he wasn't really the main shot in the conflict between Toman and Black dragons. Besides digging about a side character wasn't gonna benefit Y/n in their job anyways. But now that Y/n had heard about this guy, they were surprised.
"Look, this is him." Tachibana showed a picture of her with her boyfriend on her phone. They were smiling but Hanagaki looked goofy. He had a weirdly big smile with widened nostrils and had a hand around Tachibana's neck like she was one of his bros or something. He also had bandages all over his face just as Hinata had mentioned just now.
Looking at his picture just made y/n burst out in laughter.
"He holdin' you like you're his bro or something." Y/n snorted and recieved a playful smack from the said boy's girlfriend.
"Don't make fun of him!" She said getting second hand embarrassment.
Suddenly a blonde head peaked in Tachibana's phone and bursted out laughing.
"He looks like a chimpanzee!" The comment made Y/n laugh tears and Tachibana more embarrassed.
"Shut up both of you! He doesn't look like a chimpanzee!"
"Sure, he doesn't look like a chimpanzee because he is a chimpanzee!"
"Beauty and the Chimpanzee should be the ultimate title of this picture!"
"Shut up both of you!! I'm never showing you any of our pics again!" Tachibana shouted embarrassingly. She turned around and pouted.
"Okay! Okay! Fine. Sorry about it."
"Anyways, I think these would look good on him." Y/n pointed out a pair of brown Moc Mid II which looked as a match with Hinata's.
"Wow! Thanks Y/n! They would match with mine so well!" Hinata exclaimed and quickly grabbed them to go to the cashier. While the cashier was billing, Tachibana asked Sano,
"By the way, who called you?"
"My boyfriend."
'What? Another betrayal?'
Y/n was kept in the dark from both of them.
"Dude you too? I thought I was a friend." Y/n looked at Sano with squinted eyes. Sano looked puzzled and responded, "but I thought you knew?" Y/n frowned.
"No I didn't."
Sano said casually smiling, "then now you do." Y/n sighed.
"Who is it?"
"Draken from Tokyo manji gang. Takemichi is in that gang as well." Tachibana answered.
'Damn. Didn't really expect Emma's guy to be him.. Surprises after surprises today.'
Y/n was shocked but did not react the same way. Instead they commented, "looks like you girls really like violent guys." Both of them just chuckled in response and decided to leave the store.
After that, they headed to a café because Sano was craving some fries. While sitting at the table, Y/n started the conversation.
"So both of you kept me in dark. Nice friendship."
"We didn't really intend to, ya know. Anyways, what's your relationship status? You're not cheating on me right?" Sano said with a mischievous grin. Y/n replied, "Actually I don't do relationships. Not my thing. I find them boring and useless. Besides I've got other things to put more priority on than good-for-nothing partners."
Y/n was really not into romance or any of that sort. Sure they liked to flirt but commitment was a headache to them. They believed that it restricted them from freely doing their own will. Commitment was an obligation and Y/n wasn't very fond of it. Y/n didn't really want to engage with someone just for the feel of 'romance' and 'love' because then, it would be too much of a pain in the ass for them to focus on other things in their life.
