The following day, June and Jack were down in the sewers looking for Rezzoch and killing any zombies that they came across.

"Just how many zombies have we killed?" asked June while walking away from a mound of bodies they had piled up on a small walking path in order to keep the water way flowing.

"Thirty today plus the fifty or so from yesterday," said Jack.

"And that's not counting all the ones we fought on the way here which already put us into the hundreds before entering the city," he said.

"I don't like these numbers," said June while looking over her shoulder at the mound of bodies.

"They're probably why Rezzoch came here, it's the closest spot with the numbers he needs to feed off of in order to get his power back up to where it was before we had hurt him," said Jack.

"Yet there's no sign of him," said June.

"By now he should have enough power to take over a living person yet we haven't seen any trace of him," she said.

"Unless we did more damage than what we thought, maybe he needs more than just zombies or just hasn't been able to get to the amount to heal him," said Jack.

"That could be it," said June.

"Either way, we should be heading back as it's almost noon," said Jack.

"Better take a shower first, it stinks down here," said June while turning around while keeping Jack close in case she found any zombies on their way out. Further inside the sewers, a single zombie stood on a tower of bodies in a large circular area where several channels met.

"Still not enough," came Rezzoch's voice from the living corpse.

"I need more power," he said before moving. A little while later on the surface, June was eating at the diner again.

"So, what were you up to today?" asked the waitress.

"Hunting zombies in the sewers," said June before taking a bite of her food.

"A little dangerous don't you think, I mean going down there alone and all?" asked the waitress with a concerned expression.

"Trust me, we have been through worse," said Jack. Suddenly, everything around them shook at the same time a loud booming sound came from outside the wall.

"What was that?!" asked the waitress.

"Let's find out," said June before rushing off.
