Chapter 14

At Battlefield island…

The 25 Toorus who were brought back, went right to work.

After figuring out their techniques, they began to work and prefect them to their liking, not to mention push the ability beyond its original strength. Roark was absorbed in his training quite a bit. Lightning… as good as it is, it's fickled. It cannot be easily controlled nor will it always hit what you target.

He knew that well. As talented as a sorcerer can be, as perfect as their aim is, there are factors one has to take into consideration. "Humidity, surface area, electronics, metal…" he was muttering to himself as he sat in mediation of his technique. There were factors he considers when summoning his power. "It's strong, and yet, there feels like there is room for improvement…"

He wasn't alone in his mediation, his wife Lefi was close by. In her hands she had a small fragment of metal given to her by one of Lady Tiamat's followers. Three times a day, odd looking people show up, they leave food and clean clothing behind and take the garbage that is made when they leave. Just yesterday, Lefi approached one of them to thank them and the others for their time and consideration. One smiled to her and gave her this bit of metal. No explanation, they just gave it to her. She's been working on it ever since.

This metal is not known to man, but among the divine and that of human make believe. "This is difficult to break down and understand…" she said. "I mean, who knew adamantium existed!?"

Roark smiled to his wife as she continued to surge and tries and process the small fragment in her hand. "How is your ability?" he asked of her.

"I feel this is a create construction ability, however, this sorcerer was specializing in liquid metal. The problem is that the metal she has knowledge of is nothing compared to what is available now. Not to mention, in my hand here… if I can create this without an issue, then it will be a great technique. At the same time, I think I can push this technique to not only create but break down as well. If she use to specialize in liquid metal, the more metal I can obtain without energy the better, right?"

Roark paused to this. "You think you can use your curse energy, break down metal but have it convert to your energy to use later?"

"I don't know if I can go that far, but I want to try to…"

It was a reasonable request. Construction techniques are usually frowned upon by sorcerers, for the Tooru family, it can be a life saving ability.

"Keep at it hon, I know you are going to get yours quicker than mine…"

He began to do his rounds and found other members training on their abilities. There was one, a nephew of his who appeared rather… upset with his. "Kiba?" he called.

Kiba was given the body of Iori Hazenoki. He had altered the body enough to grow up and fill out so he wasn't a string bean. Yet he was sighing to his training. "Uncle… this isn't something I am too fond of…"

In his hand he had teeth, lots and lots of teeth and tucked them away into leather bags. "I know but at the same time, I think you got a wicked ability."

"My body can be turned into a bomb!" he protested. "How is that wicked!?"

"I'm not focused on the bomb aspect of your ability." Roark took a seat and explained it was the reverse jujutsu he was observing. "I haven't seen anyone… ANYONE heal as fast as you do. Your reverse technique is without a doubt the most finely polished method to date that I have seen."

Kiba paused. "Really, uncle?" he asked with great sincerity.

"Of course! At the same time, I think it can go farther. You don't have to focus on your bomb making here unless you want to. If anything, work on getting your reverse technique to go farther. We only know of its ability to heal people and bodies… but… has anyone tried repairing a building that has been damaged in a battle? Reverse the damage done to show as if nothing happened?"

Kiba was inspired. "That's a wicked idea!"

"If anyone can do it, it's you!"

"Hey! Pep talk your own son, I got this!"

Roark smirked as he turned to his brother. He took the body of one Ryu Ishigori, Roark snickered as he embraced his brother. "How do you feel little bro?"

"Whose little? I'm taller than you now!" he laughed. "But, I can't complain, I got the jiffs of this power as well, highly focuses bursts of curse energy that comes out like a sound cannon… from my hair… damn that's an interesting do," he said offhandedly. "The Mrs. got a woman named Uro, she's able to manipulate her surroundings… got to admit my wife gets hotter and hotter every time I see her…"

"DAD! SITTING RIGHT HERE!" protested Kiba.

"I'm starting to think that we may want to take on new names… I don't mind going by Kashimo… In fact, I think I should answer to that name out of respect." he said.

"I like Roark better…" his brother protested. "If anything, go by Roark Kashimo, that way no one knows you're a Tooru yet since we got to keep on the down low for now."

"Fair."

He continued on his rounds and found everyone was working hard on their new techniques, everyone has found the base and understood what they possessed, but, already they were in the phase of improving and expanding on the notion.

He already had ideas for himself on the lightning aspect. As amazing and powerful as it is, he needs to condense it down so it is easier to control. Thankfully, this island has plenty of space and places to practice.

"I wonder how long it will take to perfect this… either way, the sooner we master our abilities, the sooner we can help Yua!" he said with great determination.

Roark was more determined than ever to get back to his daughter. But first thing is first. They have to be certain they can defend themselves, once they are confident and able to, they will go in search of Yua.

The Tooru clan will unite again!
