At Y/n's hideout

Y/n and their unexpected guest made their way inside. Y/n couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated by the unannounced arrival, but tried to keep their composure. Both of them took their seats and Koko wasted no time to get to business.

"Taiju wants to hire you."

Y/n set aside their other questions and adopted a serious demeanor, their full attention now fixed on the conversation at hand.

"He wants to meet you and plan our battle with Toman on Christmas."

'Christmas? Isn't that a big day for Taiju? He's a big devotee so why on such holy day?'

"Don't ask me why. Just tell me when I should arrange your meeting. The boss will explain everything to you later."

"First I need some advance. It should be two hundred grands at the least. You know my charges Koko." Y/n demanded holding eye contact with Koko. Koko grumbled and reluctantly handed them the demanded cash. Y/n counted the money and it was less than what they had asked for.

"Not enough. How come are you short on money dude?" Y/n questioned raising a brow at the boy.

Koko retorted, "Sure I pay you from my pocket for silly gang shits." He continued,

"The ugly beast only gave me this much and said if it's short, adjust with it since he is your regular." He finished, leaned back and stuck his tongue out.

Y/n laughed, "So you want me to slash my price? For the excuse that you're a regular customer?" Koko shrugged and responded, "Well I ain't got a say man. Not my business."

Y/n maintained a serious expression, contemplated on it and then spoke up, "Well then I shall offer you my service but I don't guarantee to give you my best."

"Yeah fine, I don't really care. It's all on Taiju anyway. Just tell me the goddamn time of your meeting already."

Y/n nodded.

"Now, as you're aware, I'm a very busy person, I'm not free for the rest of the week. So, 17th looks like a convenient day for me."

"Time?"

"Around 11 pm. It'll be at his place, right?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Anyways, is this how you treat your guests Y/n? Not even asking for water? I thought you were a mannered kid from a prestigious family." Koko teased; pupils travelling around Y/n's place. Scanning everything in the room.

Y/n got up from their seat and brought a bag of chips and passed it to the boy.

"So this is where all your stolen treasure goes. Expected." Koko remarked opening the bag.

"Expected?"

"Yeah, since your 'prestigious' parents won't let you enter the house with a new motorcycle every fucking day."

Y/n laughed. "Okay not too much on my parents. And share some chips." They dipped their hand in the bag.

Taiju's place

"The deal has been made, boss. Your meeting will be on the 17th, around 11 pm, here." Koko reported to his boss. Taiju nodded and quizzed,

"How much did they take in advance?"

"Two grands. Just as much as you had sent me with." Replied Koko with an assuring smile on his face.

"Good." Taiju smiled wickedly while leaning back on his sofa and signalled Koko to leave.

He bowed and turned around.

A sly grin spread across his face as he made his exit.

14th December, 2005

The room was cloaked in an atmosphere of intensity as Takemichi sat at his desk, determined to conquer his homework. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he furrowed his brow, grappling with the complex equations before him.

He had forgotten almost all the math formulae because it had been a long time since they came of use to him. And now, even middle school math was being a pain for him. He honestly felt embarrassed.

'What was the Pythagoras theorem..' He racked his brain but nothing came to him.

He partially blamed the silence in the room for it since he felt like it drowned all his thoughts.

After a good while of trying, Takemichi sighed. He got up from his seat and stretched his aching muscles.

In the midst of his stretching, a knock reverberated through the door. Excitement washed over him as he eagerly opened the door to the person who had just come to end his brain wrecking study-sesh.

Through the door, came two figures who were met with a teary eyed Takemichi. He looked at them with such shiny eyes as if he had just been saved after years of being locked in.

"Thank God!"

Draken and Mikey exchanged looks.

"What'cha crying for Takemichi?" Questioned Draken.

"Nothing nothing! Welcome guys!" He welcomed wiping his eyes with his sleeve. The duo helped themselves in and onto his bed.

"Man I was so bored. Glad we came here." Mikey said plopping down on his friend's bed. Draken took a seat next to him and noticed some books and stationary spread on Takemichi's desk and inquired,

"Takemichi studies?"

The boy in question awkwardly laughed and responded. "Sometimes..heheh.."

Draken got up to take a look at his notebook as to what he was studying. It was his winter math homework. The question he was solving was to find out the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle whose other two sides were given.

Draken leaned in to see his answer but all he found was some incomprehensible shit about "going to the future" and some 'great' attempts to solve the question. This made him burst out in laughter.

"Dumb-mitchy! Don't you know the Pythagoras theorem!?"

Mikey joined in. "Takemichi doesn't even know that? Damn." This caused Takemichi to get embarrassed as hell.

"Even I know that theorem even though I've failed my middle school!" Draken laughed with Mikey calling their friend "Dumb-mitchy".

Takemichi quickly rushed over to his desk and closed all his notebooks with embarrassment clear on his face. To avoid any further embarrassments, he left to get water for his guests.

Takemichi came back with a tray and a question.

"Erm..Why have you guys come here? Not like I don't like it. Just curious.." Takemichi asked, serving them their glasses.

"Well, we were just bored."

"I see.." Takemichi took a seat beside them. All of them stayed silent as they sipped their glasses.

Takemichi then suddenly remembered something he had to ask Mikey.

"Mikey-kun.. do you know Y/n?" Mikey, in the midst of drinking, replied. "Y/n..? Yeah."

Takemichi had expected that. He went on to further question his friend about the said person,

"Which gang are they in?"

"None."

Takemichi got confused.

"Huh?"

"Y/n is not a part of any gang. But they're involved with a lot of gangs."

This just confused him more.

"What do you mean Mikey-kun..?"

"Y/n sells gang information, that's why they're not a part of any gang. Though it's not like they aren't wanted by any gang because of that, it's actually the opposite." Draken explained for Mikey.

'A gang information broker? Who is wanted by many gangs? Damn..I had not seen that coming. That's why they were talking like that..'

"How do you know Y/n?" Takemichi was curious.

"Huh? Everybody knows Y/n in gang world. They're famous."

Takemichi was surprised learning this information about Y/n. He thought about Y/n being an important part in the gang world.

'Y/n..since they are so famous among gangs, surely they must have a big role..and there's a chance that they get involved with Toman in future.'

'I should learn more about this Y/n since they're very close with Hina as well..'
