Chapter 37: Climbing The Sky Tower! Asking Rayquaza For Her Help!
As Steven and the girls headed west towards Sootopolis City, Michael, Delcatty, and Swmapert headed south towards Route 129. Upon coming up to a wall of large boulders, then turned west and starting heading towards Pacifidlog Town.
Delcatty - "So where's the Sky Pillar at Michael?"
Michael - "It should be off to us on the right as we get closer to Pacifidlog Town."
The trio saw nothing through the rest of Route 129 and all of Route 130. But just as they entered Route 131.
Delcatty - "There it is!"
Michael and Swampert looked in the direction that Delcatty was pointing. There they saw the Sky Pillar itself.
Michael - "With haste Swampert. Before the weather distortions reach us."
Swampert - "Right."
Swampert sped up, wanting to get the three of them to the Sky Pillar as quickly as possible. Soon they were thru the cave that led up and arrived at Sky Pillar's entrance.
Swampert - "So now what do we do?"
Michael - "For now, we wait for Wallace to show up."
Delcatty - "And we what, just force our way in if he doesn't by the time the weather distortions reach us first?"
Michael - "Yep."
Delcatty - "I'm already afraid of getting in trouble for this..."
Swampert - "Not much choice here Delcatty."
Delcatty sighed heavily.
Delcatty - "You're right. But I still don't like it."
After a few minutes, the weather distortions suddenly appeared.
Michael - "Crap. No choice now."
Michael walked over and sent an aura pulse through the Sky Pillar's door, which surpisingly allowed it to open. The trio then quickly walked inside.
Michael - "Ok. Wasn't expecting that to work."
Swampert - "I wasn't either to be honest."
Delcatty - "Guys. You both may want to come take a look at this."
Michael and Swampert walked over to where Delcatty was. They found her up at a giant mural that spanned the entire length of Sky Pillar's back wall.
Swampert - "What is this?"
Michael - "It's a mural to pay tribute to what Lady Rayquaza did thousands of years ago to keep Hoenn safe back then. No questions the Draconids were the ones to make it."
Delcatty - "I know you explained the story of what Lady Rayquaza did back then. But times it doesn't feel like the entire story."
Michael chuckled.
Michael - "You aren't wrong Delcatty. Most of the time I keep important facts out due to wanting to make sure that EVERYTHING is 100% true before stating them. As for the real version of these events, here's how it went. Thousands of years ago, Primal Lady Kyogre and Primal Lord Groudon fought over the energy of Mega Evolution in endless cycles. There was nothing humanity could do but watch as endless disasters swept over them. At that time as well, numerous meteoroids poured down from space and fell onto a waterfall that was the Draconids home. The meteors were shined with a brilliance of light, as if life itself was within them. From that impact, a Pokémon with an emerald hue descended from the sky."
Delcatty - "Lady Rayquaza herself..."
Michael - "That's correct Delcatty. Her power alone had overwhelmed the Primal power that her siblings had obtained, thus returning peace to the world. Everyone, especially the Draconids, hailed Lady Rayquaza as a savior. But 1,000 years later, meteoroids fell again and struck the planet. This left a crater that's larger than any other seen before."
Swampert - "Is that same crater...?"
Michael - "Yes. It's the one Sootopolis City's in right now. As for the meteor strike, it was the first of many disasters that befell humanity. Then the land itself ended up cracking apart, which exposed a welling of natural energy underneath Hoenn and caused Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon to awaken in their Primal forms. In response to this, the Draconids made a wish for Lady Rayquaza to return, along with the fallen meteorite becoming a vast and powerful Key Stone. Lady Rayquaza then indeed returned, along with her answering the Draconids wishes by using the meteorite to mega evolve. Upon mega evolving, Lady Rayquaza used her brand-new ability, Delta Stream, to weaken her siblings and make them vanish to parts unknown. She then flew into the sky and did the same. According to a single witness, who was called 'A tall man from a distant land', they said 'She is the Delta, born of the great disturbances in this world. By the bonds born of mankind's wish and the power of the stones, she will calm the troubles that plague the world.' It was then that the Draconids created Sky Pillar, as a way to hold the Rainbow Stone that gave Lady Rayquaza her granted power and so that they could be closer to it. A thousand years of peace followed those events. But due to learning about the history's cyclical nature, the Draconids foretold that meteoroids WOULD strike again. Along with the fact that the one to come would be greater than those before it and could break the world forever. So a plan was created to once again awaken Lady Rayquaza and protect the world."
Delcatty - "But doesn't us awakening her now mess with that plan?"
Michael - "I believe they would say that. However, there's also the fact that Lady Rayquaza's siblings are on a rampage right now and needed to be stopped."
Swampert - "Kinda hard to argue with that logic there."
Soon the trio began climbing the Sky Pillar, reaching the top very quickly. Michael looked towards the center, seeing the sleeping form of Rayquaza herself. He then slowly walked over to her.
Michael - "Are you awake, Lady Rayquaza?"
Rayquaza - "I am, young one. And don't worry. I can feel my idiot siblings fighting from here. I'm guessing you need my help in stopping them then?"
Michael - "Yes please ma'am."
Rayquaza - "Very well then. Are either of them in their Primal forms?"
Michael - "No. I have both Orbs on me right now. I do intend to let your siblings enter their Primal forms with help from my dragon aura. As for you my lady, I have a feeling that the meteoroids that the Draconids foretold to arrive are close. So I want to save your power of Mega Evolution for it."
Rayquaza - "I see. Very well then. I saw assist you with stopping my siblings. But in return, I have a favor to ask of you young Michael."
Michael - "What is it Lady Rayquaza?"
Rayquaza - "When the time to prove yourself to me comes, I want your Delcatty to be my opponent."
Delcatty - "Wait why me?'
Rayquaza - "I've heard from Lady Arceus about how you've helped Michael catch Lady Suicune and Lady Lugia already. And I also believe that he'll use you against my sister Lady Kyogre as well."
Delcatty pondered for a moment, wondering if she should just accept Rayquaza's challenge. She then finally came to a decision.
Delcatty - "You're on."
Rayquaza - "I look forward to our battle little cat. Now then. Hop on. Time to head over to Sootopolis and stop my siblings."
Michael, Delcatty, and Swampert then quickly got on Rayquaza's back, followed by her taking off from Sky Pillar's peak. As Rayquaza flew through the sky, Michael, Delcatty, and Swampert looked down from her back, amazed at just how small everything looked.
Delcatty - "Amazing..."
Rayquaza - "Hang on!"
Michael and his Pokémon held on tightly as Rayquaza fired a blast through the storm clouds that Kyogre had summoned. She then quickly followed the blast, which smashed through the clouds like they were nothing. Soon the arrived in the sky over Sootopolis City. Ready to finally put an end to Kyogre and Groudon's struggle.
