That same night, in a place far away from Yongen-Jaya, in a house a couple was talking to each other.
"Very good, Sakura-san says that she can receive Ren tomorrow, now we just have to wait and that headache we have instead of a son will go away from here." the wife said to her husband.
"Good thing, I couldn't bear to hide it here in the house anymore, the neighbors will finally stop judging us." the husband said.
"Why did our son do that crazy thing? He has always been very obedient." the wife said.
"Our son was better when he just made us look good to others." the husband said.
"I wish we could get rid of him forever, it's a shame he has to come back in a year." the wife said.
"It doesn't matter, we are going to make him suffer if he makes us look bad in front of people again." the husband said.
Unbeknownst to them, their son: Ren, was listening to their conversation.
He felt bad about what his parents said behind his back and although he knew that for them his reputation was a thousand times more important than him, he was still hard on him.
"I don't care what they say, I just have to get through next year and that's it." Ren said as he went to his room.
What Ren didn't know was that fate had plans for him, plans that involved him meeting Homura and other people who would give him something he needed at that moment: love.
