It had been the evening of the Season 1 Finale. The winner of the first season of Total Drama Reboot had been determined; Priya had taken the victory, and soon would be rewarded with the prize of one million dollars.
The campers had all went their separate ways, wandering around the camp they call Wawanakwa. Campers could be found in groups, celebrating the end of this torturous season, while others went solo, either resting before tonight's party or to contemplate on this seasons loss. After cleaning herself up from the finale, in which she had previously been covered in puke, Priya had strolled back to the cabins. Surprisingly, she hadn't been too worn out from today's challenge. Despite today's temperament with Millie, and facing Bowie in the finals, she had actually been feeling pretty good..however that was most likely the adrenaline from winning Total Drama.
She peered her head into her cabin, checking it out to see if anyone had been inside. However, to her surprise it had been empty; or so she thought. She slowly opened the door, taking a few steps inside, as the door quietly creaked behind her. Once she made the quiet confirmation to herself that no one had been here, she shut it quickly. However, this sudden movement started the girl who had been unidentified, still lingering around in the cabin.
Millie's head shot up suddenly, as she hit the ceiling above her. "Ow!" She yelped, as Priya scanned the cabin once more in an instant. "Millie?" She called, as she had now spotted the other girl. She had been placed on the top bunk, right above Priya's bed, an anxious expression formed on her face. Large dark circles could still be seen under the girls eyes, indicating the stressful night she had to deal with the day before, when Priya found her notebook. She seemed to be holding something in her hand. "Millie? What's wrong? And what are you doing up there?" Priya questioned, her head tilting slightly to the side as she focused her eyes on the girl above her. Meanwhile, Millie's heart had been pounding. "I, um.." She stammered, placing the notebook she had been holding in her lap, turning slightly towards the girl below her. "I had been looking through my notebook reading through what all I did so happen to write," She'd murmur, looking down at her lap. The notebook had been closed shut, placed helplessly on her waist. Priya frowned, as she reached out to drab onto the ladder to get to the top bunk. She climbed up, sitting right on the edge of Millie's bed. "Why would you do that? You know I'm no longer mad at you, right?" She would ask, a small smile forming on her face, however Millie didn't share the same expression. "I guess I just wanted to see how bad it really came across." Millie would huff, avoiding eye contact with Priya. As the smaller girl took note of this, she shuffled closer to Millie, reaching out for her hands. "Whatever you said, we're all good now. You don't need to keep blaming yourself." Priya would whisper, as Millie's gaze fell onto hers. They locked eye contact for a few moments, before Millie revealed a small smile. "Yeah. Right." She replied, her face feeling hot. Had Priya really moved on, just like that? She was grateful, but also surprised.
As she got deeper in thought, Priya removed her hands from Millie's, which snapped the girl out of her deep thoughts. "Besides, half of it was Bowies doing. If only we could just stick it to him!" The skinny girl would grumble, as Millie released a small chuckle. "I'm sure he won't get away with it that easily. We weren't the only contestants he's messed with. Besides," She stretched out her arms in front of her, letting out a yawn. "I'm too tired to go out messing with him." Priyas eyes shot immediately, looking Millie up and down. "I totally forgot! You haven't slept!" The girl would exclaim, Millie's dull, unfocused eyes suddenly going wide from Priyas sudden emotion. "Yeahhh.??" The other girl hummed, cocking a brow. Priya, releasing an annoyed grunt, immediately took the notebook from Millies lap, as she hopped off the top bunk of their bed. "You're going to sleep, and I'm taking this with me so you can't fuss no more." Priya took the notebook she had snatched from the tired girl, placing it on one of the nightstands arranged within the cabin. "There! Now you can't worry about the notebook anymore." She slowly shifted towards the cabin door, reaching out her hand for the doorknob. She pulled it open, taking a step outside. "Please! Go to sleep!" The girl would call out, before quickly slamming the door shut.
As Priya shut the door, taking a few steps backwards as she distanced herself from the door, she collided with another individual. In an instant, Priya snapped around, her eyes falling right onto a tall, lean blonde. Her heart sank, as her eyes narrowed, looking the boy up and down. "Bowie, what are you doing here?" The female would question, her tone bitter. Bowie would roll his eyes, scoffing. "My room just so happens to be next to yours? Have you always been this hostile?" He'd cock a brow, placing his hands on his hips. Priya released a small huff, biting the side of her cheek. "Me and you both know why. How could you do that to Millie? To us both?" She sneered, as the boy shrugged. "I was simply playing the game. Am I going to have to explain myself to everyone?" His eyes would narrow, as flashes of anger shot through Priyas body. She released a small, flat chuckle. "Hah! You just might, nothing can justify what you did! Did you think we would all praise you for becoming a strategic genius?" Her eyes batted as she looked around, hoping to find another camper or two lingering around to hop into their conversation and back her up..but to no avail. Bowie let out a low groan of annoyance and anger in reply, however failed to show it. "Oh, you're devious. Maybe?" He'd reply, tilting his head to the side. "I never wanted to cause a dent in you and Millies friendship. You both just got in my way." Priya rolled her eyes once more. "Clearly. Who won, again?" She'd smirk. Bowie, out of irritation, took a step closer to Priya, however the girl didn't feel challenged by the approach. "You got lucky. Neither one of us could control that final challenge. It should have been me!" Bowies lip curled, as Priya scoffed. "Sureeee. Whatever makes yourself feel better."
The two had finally came to a silence for the next few moments, however it didn't last long. "So, where's your gal pal at? I'd of figured you both would be clung onto each other like glue after that emotional finale." The boy bit his tongue, restricting himself from going on about the matter. He could rant all day long about the two girls making up, however it wasn't his place to talk. Priya cocked a brow, crossing her arms. "Not that it's any of your business, she's asleep. Are you proud of yourself for tormenting her like you did?" The skinny girl unraveled her arms, as they moved along to her angry expression. A small smirk formed on Bowies face. "I caused the problem, so it actually is my business. You told me that." He hummed quietly, taking a brief pause. "I still have those pages of hers I ripped out of her notebook. Figured you two might want them back..to 'bond,' or whatever else gross stuff you'd do with them." He ended his sentence with a scoff, as Priya returned the boys smirk. "I could say something similar with you and Raj, hm? Besides, Millie doesn't need a partake in your fake sympathy. She's perfectly fine how she is."
But she wasn't. The moment Priya had left her alone in the cabin, it only took her a few moments to leap from the top bunk and place her hands on her notebook once more. Not to write in, of course, but to continue reading through. She had opened the first few pages of her book, trying to find where she had left off before Priyas first interference, but soon got cut off the moment she heard muffled bickering. She approached the front cabin window, moving the small, torn up curtains from her view. There she saw Priya and Bowie, going head and head. She could see Priyas expressed anger, while Bowie didn't seem to care. Millie rolled her eyes, mumbling to herself. Typical. Having some self control, she took a few steps away from the window, leaving the two bickering teens to it, however her impulse to continue listening stopped her. She soon found herself approaching the window once more, placing an ear just centimeters away from the door.
It seemed like ages of her standing there, listening in on their conversation. They had only continued to back and fourth, nagging at each other over the most pitiful things. However, every now and again from what she could hear, Priya did stand up for her, which she instantly took to heart. Millies eyelids began to droop, her eyes feeling heavy. She had started to actually consider climbing up to her bunk to head to sleep, until a fragment of Bowies words instantly shot her awake. "I still have those pages I ripped out of her notebook," the boy said. That's all she needed to hear..or at least, that's all she managed to take in. Perhaps seeing the last entry she wrote about Priya would help boost her confidence..just a little.
Except..she couldn't go out there to claim the pages to her notebook. Priya, who was camping right outside the door, would get upset with Millie. She had told her to get her mind off the lost pages, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't. It only took a few more moments of listening to realize that the two had been done with their conversation. She moved the ragged curtains to the window just slightly, enough to peek out to see what was going on, but not enough to get caught. Bowie had been gone..but so had Priya. She let out a small sigh of relief..until she heard the doorknob moving. Her heart sank; she knew she couldn't make it back onto her bunk in time. She just froze in place as Priya entered the room.
Priya opened the cabin door, preparing to enter. She hadn't really been too sure of what she was doing; she had been distracted for some time by Bowies appearance, but now that he left, she was left alone. And exhausted..she hadn't had much time to herself ever since the finale began.
Meanwhile, Millie had shrunk back in the corner of the cabin, right by the front window. She had waited for Priya to take notice of her. She had opened her mouth to speak, preparing to defend herself on why she had been awake; although she didn't need to. Priya stepped foot inside the room, not looking back as she shut the door. She took a few stumbles towards the bottom bunk of her and Millie's bed, until suddenly collapsing on top of it. She could hear a heavy sigh come from the girl as she face planted into her pillow, her feet just slightly dangling off the bed. Millie had at first rose a brow, confused by the girls sudden entry, however she eventually came to the realization..Priya was just as exhausted as she was. And surely enough that interaction with Bowie didn't help. Her eyes softened, her gaze focused on her tired friend for a few more moments, before taking slow steps towards the cabin door. There was no use trying to sleep now; she would be taking the risk of waking Priya up, and in doing so she would be questioned why she was up in the first place.
Millie let out a small sigh, hunching her shoulders. She reached out to open the cabin door, making sure to open it slowly. From the cabins being 15 years old, they had been worn down to the max. It had been hard to open the doors without any creaking, and hard to walk along the floors without injuring the planks of wood. As she pulled the door towards her, she took one look back at Priya, making sure the worn out girl had still remained in slumber. Making the small confirmation to herself that she is good to go, she exited the cabin swiftly.
As she made her way down the steps of the cabin, she took in the fresh air..as fresh at it got, at least. The camp had been unpredictable, on many, many levels. She turned her head, looking around for any signs of life. But to her surprise, no one had been around. Perhaps Bowie would be lurking, or a small group of contestants would be bickering on Priyas win of the season. But no. Everything was silent.
She sluggishly made her way towards the camps restrooms. If she couldn't sleep, at least she could clean herself up for Priyas celebration.
Until Part 2..
