Chapter 5: Adam:
Guo's POV:
We were in Adam's mansion. He wasn't kidding about how big it was. Annette was looking at his collection. "I would like you to have this one," says Adam.
I didn't like how close the two were getting.
"Ahdahm, ziss ees priceless!"
"It is valualess compared to the pleasure I would get, knowing it was in your possession."
"Zen eet would be ungrahcious of me naht to ahccept."
Annette then decides to show it to me.
"Very pretty," I said, "can I have another drink?"
"Yes, of course," says Adam, "would you like one as well, Annette?"
"Zank you, Ahdahm."
"What are your instructions about Dinner, Sir," asks Joseph the butler.
"What do you say, Annette, 9:00," asks Adam.
"Eet would be just right. Guo?"
"I can't stay," I said, "but you can. The treasures are being delivered this evening and I promised Mr. King I'd be there to supervise."
"Perhahps I should go ahlahng weeth you. You will fahrgive us?"
"Of course, My Dear," says Adam, "I understand."
"But why dahn't you cahme weeth us?"
"Well, I'd love to," says Adam, "if you're sure I won't be in the way."
"Dahn't be seelly," says Annette, "he wahn't be, will he, Guo?"
"No," I said, "you're welcome to come along."
"Zat's settled zen," says Annette.
"I propose a toast," says Adam, "to the success of the exibhition of Rhodopis and may the Gods smile upon our newfound friendship."
