The police and I then arrived. "Annette," I called. We saw the mummies on the ground. I picked up one of them. "Are you all involved?"
"We are friends of your family," says the one in the chicken suit, "the Mummy's brother-in-law... he plans to end his own life and the life of the woman!"
"We have to get going," I said.
"So, we're just going to ignore the fact that he can talk," says the Inspector.
"A life is in danger," I said.
"Good point," says the Inspector.
"But where's Adam," I asked.
"Adam is the brother-in-law," says the mummy in the snake suit.
"We have to hurry," I said.
. . .
We tried to get through, but Adam locked the door, and cut off his own hand in the process.
"We have to hurry," I said.
Adam's POV:
I may have lost my hand, but it will be worth it to finally be free of this curse. "There!"
Rhodopis then placed Annette down. "Stahp hair, Ahdahm, stahp hair, please!"
"My Darling, don't be frightened of death," I said, "welcome it as a relief from the torture and torment that is called life."
"I wahnt to live!"
"That is nothing compared to the pain I have seen from wandering this Earth for 3,000 years," I said, "plagues, famine, pestilence, wars, and man's daily inhumanity towards his fellow man! That is more cruel, more painful than this mangled stump! Life without end is the only pain I can no longer bare! Now, Rhodopis, now!" She was prepared to kill Annette, but then she sees the medallion Annette was wearing and took it. She then looks at me. "Kill her!" Rhodopis does nothing. "Kill her!" Nothing. I was getting fed up. "You worthless, little-" I then tried to stab her, but she grabbed my arm and then started drowning me. Finally... I am free...
