Greta looked at the family gathered around and smiled. "I suppose I can share and answer some of what you are hoping and asking for." She and Kiy sat down again and the usually strict Aunt folded her hands as she thought about the best way to continue the conversation.

"My family line comes from ancient roots. And we had a tendency to be a bit eccentric shall we say. As a young girl I was taught many amazing things about our ancestors' culture and how we had inherited so much from them. When I became a teen I thought it was completely natural to think the way I did, asking questions and exploring all around me. That is when we moved, my mother said it was because there was something we were needed for in our new home but we had to be patient and careful not to bring too much attention to ourselves in order for that to happen, and that was also when she started insisting we tamper down ourselves. Obviously we didn't get to that point overnight but we had moved to a very understanding community here in Burgess, a place where the occasional strange thing tended to happen so we could grow into the 'new' us gradually."

The tale was intriguing, and enlightening, this helped answer why she was so different from the person Uncle Kiy had just described.

"I met you Uncle soon after we moved and he was a huge help to me and my siblings as we grew into the new community and our place in it. At some point I suppose I took the whole lay low thing to an extreme. Though I'm not entirely sure when that happened."

Uncle Kiy nodded to the resident guitar player and a simple toon started to play as Aunt Greta started to sing. (1) "Little princess, summer flowers in her hair, playing ring around the rosie, and tip-toeing around the house in her mama's shoes." Greta laughed at her own antics as a child. "Prom queen wants to be like a magazine, too much that the world is wanting you to do. Little girl don't grow up too fast. Oh I wish, oh I wish I could just go back. Yeah it's all gonna fly in the blink of an eye, you can't slow down this thing called life. So you should take your time and let it last, little girl don't grow up too fast."

Greta seemed to slump. "I have changed a lot as time went by. Now sometimes I feel like I'm hanging by a thread, climbing ladders trying to get to the next step. Working hard, always wanting something more. Missing how things were simple like they were before."

That is when Kiy took her hand and said: "You can have both you know, just let your hair down a little. As a start, how about just around family?"

Greta smiled at him and literally took her hair out of its bun. Chestnut locks fell down her back and fanned out around her face. "Like that?"

Kiy brushed a stray stranded out of her eyes. "Exactly! Oh sometimes I wish I could go back and say take your time and let it last."
