Author's Note: I'm back, everyone, with the next chapter of this story. Hopefully, you all enjoy it and have a beautiful day. Also, I won't be creating new fanfiction stories until I finish some of the incomplete ones.

It had been more than a fortnight since Jack had last glimpsed the enigmatic boy with chestnut hair, and the thought of him continued to haunt his mind. The missed opportunity to introduce himself properly before the boy mysteriously vanished had left a sense of melancholy lingering in Jack's heart.

His existence now seemed monotonous, an unvarying routine day in and day out. Jack could find solace during most of the year, apart from his occasional duty to bring winter to specific regions of the world. Although there were people who could perceive his presence, their company did little to alleviate his boredom.

As he sat beneath the cascading leaves, Jamie chatted away with his friends. In a sudden twist of fate, Jack spotted the boy's silhouette standing at the edge of a nearby forest, opposite the park. Without a moment's hesitation, he stealthily advanced toward the woods, keeping himself concealed. In a matter of seconds, he stood directly behind the boy.

"Hello, I believe we've crossed paths before," Jack greeted the boy with charismatic flair, though the boy remained oblivious to the winter spirit lurking behind him.

In a startle, the boy jumped and turned to face Jack.

"So, you can see me!" Jack exclaimed in astonishment.

The boy remained reticent.

"Please, speak to me," Jack implored, his voice tinged with urgency. After a few moments of silence, the brunette finally uttered softly, "Nice to meet you."

"So, you can see me?" Jack inquired, still puzzled.

The boy responded only with a nod. Jack found himself captivated by the boy's emerald-like eyes, unable to divert his gaze. Suddenly, the boy began to walk away.

"Wait, please!" Jack called out.

The boy halted but still avoided eye contact as he spoke, his voice betraying a mélange of emotions. "Why do you keep following me? We're fundamentally different," he told Jack.

"I wanted to get to know you and understand what sets us apart. You're someone who can see me, and I have no recollection of meeting you before," Jack explained.

"I'm not a child, Jack," he responded gently.

Jack was perplexed; the boy appeared as youthful as ever, but what truly baffled him was the boy's knowledge of his name. He had never disclosed his name to this stranger, which added an extra layer of intrigue to the encounter.

"How do you know my name?" Jack asked, still bewildered.

"Everyone knows who you are," the brunette boy replied, his voice trailing as he continued to walk away.

"Wait! At least tell me your name!" Jack persisted, his curiosity undeterred.

"You can call me Hiccup," the brunette replied with a mysterious smile, his form vanishing into the surrounding mist as leaves gracefully descended from the trees to meet the ground.

Jack stood there in stunned silence, the enigmatic encounter leaving him baffled. Was it a ghost? His confusion deepened, and he muttered to himself, "Hiccup."

Determined to unravel the mystery, Jack knew just the person to seek answers from. With unwavering resolve, he soared at top speed in the direction of North's workshop.

Exhausted but resolute, Jack entered North's office, ready to unearth the truth.

"Ah, Jack, here to determine your status on the naughty list?" North playfully jested.

"No, North, does the name 'Hiccup' mean anything to you?" Jack inquired with a seriousness that demanded attention.

North rose from his chair, retrieving a dusty tome from his bookshelf. He placed it emphatically on his desk, flipping it open before Jack's eager eyes.

"Yes," he finally responded, "Hiccup is the Autumn Spirit, much like you're the Winter Spirit. The Man in the Moon chose him as a guardian when he was just fifteen," North elucidated.

"So, he's one of us?" Jack realized the significance of Hiccup's earlier words, 'we're far too different.'

"Yes, indeed. Hiccup shares our duty, but he tends to keep to himself, rarely mingling with the rest of the guardians," North revealed. "What piqued your interest in him, Jack?" he inquired.

Jack proceeded to recount the strange encounter with Hiccup to North, who had taken on a fatherly role in his life.

"Oh, I see," North chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Jack inquired, slightly irked by North's reaction.

"I believe you have a fondness for him," North teased.

"What? No way!" Jack retorted, his cheeks betraying him with a hint of embarrassment.

"I could invite him to visit my workshop if you wish," North suggested, raising an eyebrow mischievously.

Jack reluctantly agreed, stammering, "Sure, but don't get any ideas. I-I just want to talk to him, that's all," as he tried to conceal a blush that refused to be ignored.

Author's Note - I feel like I need to clarify something so I don't get annoying reviews. This story revolves around the concept of 'love at first sight,' so please refrain from complaining about Hiccup and Jack barely knowing each other. Also, Jack isn't in 'love' with Hiccup yet, just confused and curious about him. Hiccup hasn't shown any feelings toward Jack yet. I hope this clears things up, and have a good day.
