NAME: Agent Maseo Yamashiro | Sarab

I used most of the character presented in the Arrowverse. The DCU version was limited to Tatsu's interactions with his soul in Soultaker. He will change in my story just because of how the story plot has changed. But I like him as he was in Arrow.

ORIGIN:

Maseo was an agent of ARGUS who is working in Hong Kong at the direction of Amanda Waller. He was cleaning up some of Waller's past operational problems. He is not entirely comfortable with how Waller handles the organization. But he prefers to keep his family safe. His family was currently in China to hide from his brother, Takeo, and the Yakuza. It was only after Maseo started working for Waller that he realized his family would have been safer dodging the Yakuza in Japan.

Eventually, Maseo made a deal with Waller. Maseo would discover Chien Na Wei's purpose in Hong Kong, if she would release Maseo from his service to ARGUS. Then the Yamashiros would be able to return to Japan. The deal was why he kept his family close to him, even in China. He felt that he was better able to protect them if he is nearby. Especially, because he didn't trust Waller.

Maseo was made aware of the League helping his investigations into Chien Na Wei. He was not aware of why he was receiving this assistance, or even who was providing assistance, but he welcomed the help. He was willing to keep them a secret from Waller to help resolve the case. He found the help of the League to be less offensive than working with Waller.

Maseo had not linked the League with the League of Assassins that he has heard about through ARGUS. The two organizations are vastly different in his mind and in how they do business.

FAMILY:

Maseo Yamashiro is the husband of Tatsu and the father of Akio.

Maseo has a brother, Takeo who had become Yakuza. Takeo resented his brother. Because of his Yakuza affiliation, the Yamashiro family disowned Takeo.

MOTIVATION:

Maseo was motivated by a strong protective instinct. First to protect his family. Second to protect the innocents. He believed strongly in the mission… as stated… for ARGUS. He doesn't like how Waller carries out the mission.

PERSONALITY:

Maseo was a quiet yet forceful personality. He was strong, yet resilient. He depended on his wife for her support and frequently discussed his difficulties with Waller… without revealing classified details… with her. He loved and supported his son unconditionally.

NOTES:

Because of how my storyline in this AU is set up, Maseo is not Oliver's trainer. But he will meet Oliver through his duties.
