Hunter Westerdyk

"... And I'm here to kill you."

I stared at the girl, who claimed to be named Rin Tohsaka, with wide, disappointed eyes. "What's wrong? You don't seem surprised." Rin noted. Shrugging in response I sighed, "Well, I did shout about this as I flew over. So I was expecting it." Meanwhile, I was mentally cursing.

Great, another black-haired person with a magic energy spear wants to kill me. Hopefully, this didn't become commonplace. As a frown grew across my face, I did a quick mental check of Rin's power.

"Sorry Rin, but it seems like luck isn't in your favour today. Don't you know? I've defeated people stronger than you." I said, pointing a finger at the girl. Rin nodded in agreement, however her readiness to accept this made me uneasy. "That is true. However, when you defeated them, you had access to your Lightning." I cursed internally once again, levelling a gaze at Rin. "So. That was you huh?" I responded, even though I already knew the answer. "This barrier nullifies any lightning magic short of a God's. Face it, the struggle is pointless, surrender and I will make your death a quick one." I shook my head narrowing my eyes at Rin, "Hell no girl. I won't go down without a fight." Rin only shook her head in response, "I offered you a painless demise. But you chose to fight. Very well. You shall perish."

Charing at me, Rin unleashed a battle cry. Her spear pointed towards me. Clenching my jaw, I rushed at her in kind. Seeing as how she had locked off my Lightning, and not my draconic magic, she likely didn't know about my ability to channel it. "Dragon Claw!" I shouted channelling my Dragon magic to my hand. Almost immediately, my Sacred Gear was covered in a dark purple aura, taking the form of a large claw. Rin's eyes widened in surprise when she saw this, but I didn't smile, nor did my face change. This was a fight to the death, and I was in serious trouble. Sadly, Rin's surprise quickly wore off, and she thrust her spear forward, attempting to impale me. Grunting, I jumped to the side, and using Dragon Claw, cut her spear straight down the middle where it fell to the ground and vanished. Now I smiled, "Can't fight without your spear can you?". I taunted. But Rin simply shook her head and held out her right arm. Immediately, another Red Spear sprouted to life within her grasp, and she levelled the spear towards me saying "As the daughter of Athena, I have no need for material weapons. I can simply form magical weapons myself" Hearing Rin's words, my eyebrows both raised and my jaw dropped slightly in shock. "Wait What? Athena? You're a Demigod!?" Rin didn't respond and just ran at me as silent as ever. So again I charged, This time covering both of my hands in Dragon Magic.

Somersaulting over me, Rin shouted as her spear transformed into twin blades, which she used in an attempt to stab me. Spinning around I managed to deflect one of her blades, but only one. I growled in pain as one of Rin's swords went through me. Luckily it wasn't that wide and didn't cause much damage, but it went through my stomach. I swung my claw's at Rin, who jumped away, out of reach. "It's only a matter of time now, Give up," She said. Snarling, I glared at her, before unleashing a mighty roar of fury, rushing forwards and losing all composure as I tried to rip her to shreds. I lunged at her, my hand's swinging back and forth as she dodged each and every strike, and every time she would stab me again, and again. I would swing, miss, get stabbed and get angrier. Eventually, I swiped with both hands. Rin jumped back, out of my reach, looking at me without emotion. "Give up, you have lost, and you will now die," She said as I fell to my knees.

I was angry, no, I was beyond angry, I was furious, and with every second I could feel the Rage building. A small part of me, unchanged from the anger, tried to find the source of said anger. The stomach, or to be more precise, the Sword. It was imbued with some kind of angering magic. For some, they would try to fight against the fury, while others would lock it away. They would try to control it. But as I looked at Rin, my anger overflowed, and I let it.

Opening my mouth, I roared, My voice shook the mountain itself, and carried for miles. I looked at Rin, my eye's glowing Red. Summoning a massive amount of Draconic Energy, I let it run rampant within me, "OUTRAGE!" I shouted as the entire mountain shook from my power. Rin's eyes widened as she looked at me. With another yell, I shot towards her.

...

I shook my head, what happened?

I could feel the dragon energy fading, and in front of me, or rather under me, was a defeated Rin. Her clothing was torn, she was cut in multiple places, and my foot was on her head. "I... Give, I surrender, you win" She panted. Panting in turn, I gasped for breath, I was completely exhausted, my throat was dry, and my Magic was almost empty. Taking my foot off of Rin's head, I realized my Clothes were torn, my Shirt was non-existent, as were my shoes and socks, and my pant's were the only thing remaining. With a shock I realized I was cut and injured as well, from what I could gather I went Berserk. Stepping back I realized that the area around me was heavily damaged, What had I done?

"Take down the barrier" I ordered, Rin nodded and a moment later the Barrier vanished as if it was never there. I nodded and began to walk away when I heard rumbling and cracking stone. Turning around I saw a large chunk of Stone right above Rin, cracking dangerously. My eyes widened as I realized that she would be squashed and killed if she didn't move. My body was moving before I could even fully comprehend this. "WATCH OUT!" I shouted quickly as Rin looked at me confused, she didn't see the Roof.

The Chunk of stone broke free and I leapt, summoning the last of my Magic to create a shield around me as I pushed Rin out of the way, But, I was too slow to avoid the very same fate.

"WATCH OUT" I turned to look at Hunter as he ran towards me, I frowned, confused, What was he doing? His body began to glow with magic and he leapt towards me, pushing me away. I rolled across the ground. My head shot up, What the? I looked at Hunter in confusion, why did he push me? The next moment I got my answer, a Huge chunk of Stone fell down on where I had been, crushing Hunter. My eye's widened and I stumbled to my feet as I limped over to where Hunter was. The Stone broke in half, revealing Hunter, But he was brutally injured, almost dead. As I looked at him I remembered something my Mother, Athena had once taught me.

"If an enemy saves you at their own peril and out of the good of their own heart, cherish them, follow them, for they will lead you down a path brighter than any other"

coming to a decision I pulled Hunter out of the rubble, He was bleeding in multiple places, Using the rest of my magic, I healed him as best I could. With a grunt, I lifted him up. 'Jesus, what the hell are you made of? Concrete?' I thought as I nearly collapsed under him, but using all of my Will I managed to return to my Divine form. And slowly I carried him outside, But as soon as I passed through the Cave entrance I collapsed, returning to my mortal form. I was too weak to carry him, and I didn't have enough time to rest and regain my strength. Placing Hunter on the ground I searched through his pockets, surely he had. "ah-ha" I said, pulling out a piece of paper, no doubt a return pad in case he got in trouble. Holding my hand over the Pad, and the other on Hunter's chest. Despite myself, I blushed slightly, Hunter's chest felt like Iron. I shook my head, focus. Pulsing my already drained magic into the pad, red energy pulsed around us and light encased us. When the light faded we were in some kind of Medieval style room? Looking around, I saw 4 other people, no Devils. In the room, They all stood up quickly and rushed over, wide-eyed and Concerned. "Help him, '' I pleaded. The Red-headed Devil, whom I assumed was Rias Gremory, Nodded. I stepped back looking at Hunter, my mind in turmoil.

I had never been saved by anyone, much less a stranger, an enemy? forget it. My mother was far from perfect, but she made damn sure I would repay my debts, and sometimes when my mind couldn't work properly, like now, That I threw all logic out the window and followed my gut and Heart. And as I looked at Hunter, both were in agreement. Follow him, Protect him, and Cherish him. They said,

"We're losing him," said the Devil with the long ponytail. The boy nodded, looking at Rias with worry. "What can we do? We don't have any healing spells that can save him, and we can't exactly reincarnate him again, we don't have the pieces, he took 8 Pawns" Rias nodded, looking around quickly, "We need a clergyman, a Bishop's healing abilities could save him" Rias and the ponytail looked at one another with knowing eye's, but I stood up, "Make me a Devil" I said. The Devils all looked at me in shock, I stepped forward, urgency leaking into my voice. "My name is Rin Tohsaka, Make me your Bishop, and I'll heal him" Rias didn't wait for another second and stood up, bringing a Bishop out of her pocket and giving it to me. The Piece began to glow and float towards me.

"In the name of Rias Gremory, I call to Rin Tohsaka, Hear my command and become my servant"

The Evil piece floated within me and I felt an influx of power as It merged. I knew that most of the piece's power and the perks of being a Devil would happen during my sleep, due to my drained magic, but thankfully the Bishop's magical enhancement wouldn't be halted. I felt my magic regenerate faster than before as I held my hands over him. "Everyone is going to have to help in order for him to survive," Rias said, I nodded as I held my hands over him. All of the other Devils copied my movements, and together our hands began to glow.

The red light coated Hunter as his body began to float. His wounds began to smoke, and vanish, His blood evaporated. The Light grew brighter as small sparks began to coat Hunter, and the smell of Ozone filled the air. Then as the last of Hunter's wounds closed, The magic faded and he fell back to the ground. All was silent for a moment, all of us held our breath. Hunter's eye's snapped open and he sat up in an instant. "Holy Mother of Jesus!" he shouted, shaking his head. We all sighed. Hunter looked at each of us, then at me. When he saw me, for a moment his eyes flashed with hostility, but that Hostility turned into realization and then well, nothing. "Hunter, what happened?" Rias asked, Hunter, looked at me out of the corner of his eye for a moment, before saying. "I was attacked..." my heart stopped and as I felt the pain in my wounds, I knew I wouldn't be able to escape. "by a Fallen Angel, fucker caught me off guard, Luckily Rin here was able to save me" I smiled, and Rias looked at me suspiciously, "Is that so? Tell me Rin, your aura, it isn't human, so what are you?". "I'm a Demigod, a Daughter of Athena to be precise" My words surprised the others, "A Greek Demigod? Why are you here?". I looked at the roof, "Well, I was supposed to be on vacation, but then I met Hunter, he saved my life, nearly at the cost of his own, I'm indebted to him, that's why I didn't hesitate to help you save him". Hunter's face sported a small smile for a moment, but it was gone the next, Rias stood up and clapped her hands, "Well, you seem to be injured, and now that you're a member of the peerage I'll have to work on the Transfer papers, I assume you understand what a Peerage is?" I nodded, "Yes, I understand completely, And I'm ready for any burdens that being a member will bring." Rias smiled and nodded, "Good, because, since you are indebted to Hunter, and you saved his life, You'll be living together". Both my own and Hunter's eye's widened, as we shouted in unison. "What?!"

There we go!
Yeah, I'm sorry for waiting so long for this. Rewriting this was turning out to be a massive ass pain, so I decided to go 'fuck it' copy and paste, and make a few changes. And be done with it.
I apologize if this chapter is absolute shit because of that, but I'd run out of patience.
Anyway, TBDEOW is back!
