Chapter 14: The Vampire Killer
It was a dark and stormy night. The rain tapped the castle roof and walls. Tap. Tap. Tap. The large, wooden, rotten doors opened, revealing a figure who cloaked himself from the rain. His cloak completely covered him. He took a step inside. Every step he took, water fell from his cloak. Clank. Clank. Clank. Every step he took was only followed by a clank. He took off his cloak and threw it on the ground, revealing his short, brown hair. His armor with a belt. Attached to his belt was a whip to deal with any foe from hell.
This was Simon Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont Clan, and Simon's time has come to slay the beast that dared made its presence against the Belmont Clan. None other than the King of Vampires, Dracula.
"Dracula!" Simon yelled, " Face thou holy might monster!" From the ceiling above bats came swooping down towards. "So have it!" Simon yelled. Simon unleashed the Vampire Killer. A weapon passed down every century to a Belmont. It was specifically forged to combat forces of darkness, particularly vampires, yet it is efficient against supernatural forces. With one throw, he slashed the bats, defeating them with ease. "Foul knave! I shall be there anon to face you! Thou will face holy justice and return from whence you came!" Simon yelled.
Simon walked up the stairs, heading towards the top of the castle to face Dracula. Little did he know… he was not the only mortal in this castle. Moments after his leave, the gates of the castle opened. "Quickly! Get in!" Luigi yelled as he held the gates open. "It's freaking pouring down there!" Falco yelled. "Oh, a little rain never hurt anybody. Stop complaining," Peppy said. "You know, I did offer to cover you in a spell, yet you refused," Melia said.
Falco, Peppy, Luigi and Melia entered the castle, unbeknownst to them that the King of the Vampires watched them. "Not even homs have castles like this," Melia said. "Um, human, but I'm pretty sure I read something about King Arthur and the knights," Luigi said. "I don't think this has to do with that stuff, Loogy," Falco said. "Luigi," Luigi said. "Yeah. Yeah. Whatever Louie," Falco said.
Melia walked forward. "We must find aid here. I suggest we split up," Melia said. "Oh no! This castle gives me King Boo vibes," Luigi said. "Oh stop fretting. You can't be scared all the time," Peppy said. "You'd be surprised," Luigi said. "Alright. We'll simply split into two teams. Let us explore this castle. Perhaps we'll find someone who can aid us," Melia said.
Melia walked calmly through the castle. Besides her Luigi was pale like a ghost and shook like an egg hatching. "Will you calm down?" Melia asked, "Everything will be alright." "We're walking through a creepy castle. What if there's ghosts here?" Luigi asked. "There's no such thing as ghosts," Melia said. "What do you mean?! I face them almost all the time!" Luigi screamed. "Well in my world, I never had to face the spirits of the dead, and I am going to assume it'll be the same here," Melia said. Caw. Caw. Caw. "AHH!" Luigi screamed. "Relax. It is only a bird," Melia said as she pointed to the black feathered bird.
Hss. "What was that?" Luigi asked. "I am not sure," Melia said. They turned around and saw a pedestal with a stone head of a woman with snakes for hairs. "That is just a statue, right?" Luigi asked. "Let's not wait to find out," Melia said. They continued walking. "Ar! Take this thou monsters!" they heard. "Sounds like someone is fighting," Luigi said. "Yes. We should investigate," Melia said. "U-uh, is t-that a g-good idea?" Luigi asked. "They may need our help," Melia said as she walked forward. "Wait! Don't leave me alone!" Luigi yelled as she ran after her.
Peppy and Falco walked through the castle, strictly holding their blasters. "Has thou found anything yet?" Falco joked. "Falco! Focus!" Peppy chastised. "Alright. Alright," Falco said. "I swear. I'm gonna die because of your jokes," Peppy said. "Hey, it wasn't that bad," Falco said. "I'll admit. It's not your worst joke," Peppy said.
Bats from the ceiling squeaked and swooped down towards the two. "Shoot em'! Shoot em'! Shoot them bastards!" Peppy yelled. "Yeah! Yeah! I heard you old man!" Falco yelled. Falco and Peppy shot the bats, leaving only blood and a bad smell behind. "Oh, I'm gonna vomit," Falco said. "Meh, I've seen worse," Peppy said. Up ahead, they heard the sound of metal being flung around. "Come on Pep! Let's go see what's that," Falco said. "What? I didn't hear anything," Peppy said. "Come on!" Falco yelled as he pulled Peppy's arm.
Simon faced off against werewolves. His whip extended and flew straight into the necks of the beasts. "Thou monsters! Thy art verily vile!" Simon yelled. A werewolf was inches away from pouncing on Simon until it was hit by fire. "AH! Werewolves!" Luigi screamed. "It matters not what the beast is. They are no match for my ether," Melia said. "Huh! Whom art thou?" Simon asked. "I-Imma Luigi," a frightened Luigi said. A werewolf pounced on Luigi. "AH! Get it off! Get it off! Get it off!" Luigi screamed. Simon slashed the werewolf with his whip, causing its blood to fall on Luigi. "AHHHHHH!" Luigi screamed. "Apologies green one," Simon said, "Hunting the monsters is not an easy task." Melia blasted ice at a werewolf. "Although it seems that thy fair lady is handling the monsters with ease," Simon said. "I have experience," Melia said.
Falco and Peppy came in, shooting the werewolves. Simon noticed them and yelled, "Thy monsters shalt die!" Simon yelled. "Hold on! They're with us! They wish to slay the monsters," Melia explained. "Yeah!" Falco yelled. "Yeah. I still haven't got a clue what's going on here," Peppy said. "Oh. Apologies then," Simon said.
After defeating all of the werewolves, Simon introduced himself, "I am Simon Belmont. I am on a quest to slay Dracula who's arisen after 100 years," Simon said. "Melia Antiqua. This is my squad. Falco, Peppy, and Luigi," she said. "Did he just say Dracula?" Luigi asked. "Yes, my green friend. Dracula is one of the fiercest and dangerous monsters. It is my destiny as a Belmont to slay him," Simon said, "And may I ask? What brings a fair lady and civilians inside the castle of Dracula?" "We sought to escape the rain. We traveled here to ask aid of the hero here," Melia said. "Aid? For what?" Simon asked. "A great evil is rising. We seek aid so that we may prevent this evil from spreading," Melia said. "If thou means to defeat evil, then we are allies. I will aid you, but not until I have slain Dracula," Simon said. "Oh good! So how about you call us and we come back," Luigi said as he stepped away, "Come on." "Hold it. Simon, may we aid you in defeating Dracula?" Melia asked. "Uh, I'm not sure that's a good idea," Luigi said. "Are you kidding'? That way we take him faster and save us gas," Peppy said. "You may do what you will, but the final blow belongs to me," Simon said. "Very well," Melia said. "Oh, mamma mia. What have I gotten myself into?" Luigi questioned.
The group all traversed upwards into the castle. They faced many enemies placed by Dracula himself, until at long last, they reached the top of the castle. There, they only saw an empty throne.
"Dracula! Show yourself!" Simon yelled. "Ah. Has it been 100 years now?" asked a voice. "You monster! Come out and face your fate!" Simon yelled. Luigi trembled in fear. A shadow, reflected from a single candle moved. Everyone turned around and turned back to find Dracula sitting on his throne. "Dracula!" Simon yelled.
Dracula stood up. "So, another Belmont wishes to face me, and it seems he brought me my dinner," he said. Luigi trembled more. "Fear. I just enjoy that," Dracula said. Dracula looked closer at the group. "Hm, you must be those pesky heroes Ganondorf had told me about," he said. "How do you know that name? Of course I only know that name because Mario told me," Falco said. "He had visited me. Wished for me to join his army. Fortunately for you, I am not interested in universal domination," he said. "So, that is his plan," Melia said. "Well, looks like we got information," Peppy said. "Oh, thou wish to get the chance to defeat Ganondorf, yet, you may now never get the chance," Dracula said.
Dracula unfolded his cape and turned into multiple bats and flew to the other side of the room. Falco and Peppy shot at him, but Dracula used his magic to protect himself. "Face me!" Simon yelled as he jumped and shot his whip at Dracula. Melia shot fire at Dracula, meanwhile Luigi cowered behind her. "Luigi, I know you're afraid right now, but you need to be brave right now," Melia said. "B-b-b-b-but," Luigi said, "No. You're right!" "AHHH!" Luigi yelled as he charged ahead with his eyes closed and hands moving around crazily. "Wait! She said to be brave! Not stupid!" Peppy yelled.
Somehow, all of Dracula's shots at Luigi missed. Luigi then jumped and slapped Dracula in the face. Dracula roared but at that point Simon smacked Dracula in the face with a cross. "Delightful distraction friend!" Simon yelled. "Oh. Thanks," Luigi said. Dracula began to transform. He was now a green demon with piercing red eyes and wings. Falco and Peppy continued to shoot as Dracula charged straight at them. Melia, using an electricity spell, shocked Dracula. Luigi, still being afraid, jumped on Dracula's had as Simon tied Dracula with his whip. "NO!" Dracula yelled. "You're finished! Now return from whence you came!" Simon yelled as he spilled holy water on Dracula. "RAH! Belmont! You will pay! I will return!" Dracula yelled as Dracula laid in defeat.
The storm had cleared and the castle was clear of any monsters. Everyone exited the castle. "As promised, I shall aid you," Simon said. "It would be a pleasure," Melia said.
Peppy and Falco brought the Arwings. "What is such contraptions?" Simon asked. "Oh, you'll love em'. They fly faster than anything in the galaxy," Falco said. "Well, it wouldn't hurt to try something new," Simon said.
The Arwings took off with their new ally.
