Nova closed the door keeping it ajar so she could listen to the wind.

"So, you have a name?" The woman asked.

"Oh gosh, my ma would skin me alive right now, my name is Novalie Williams, but I go by Nova," Nova said.

"Natasha Romanoff," Natasha said with a smirk.

"Nice to meet you, under the circumstances. Sorry about biting Thor."

Natasha chuckled, but before she could speak Nova tensed, gesturing for Natasha to be quiet, pointing at the door and indicating that an enemy was coming.

Nova crouched close to the door, waiting for the alien to enter.

Faster than Natasha could react, Nova whipped her spear around and swung the length of the spear into the alien's chest.

The alien exhaled, which was all Nova needed, mentally reaching for the air the alien exhaled and forcing it back into its throat, rupturing whatever sort of lungs it has.

It dropped without a sound, writhing and clutching its midsection, unable to make any noise.

Nova dragged it out of sight of the glass door and plunged the knife part of the spear into the alien's neck.

"Nice," Natasha said appraisingly.

"Thanks," Nova breathed.

Nova looked up the stairs, "they're coming, I'll go talk to them."

Nova approached the stairs.

The group stopped, nervous.

"Alright, I will be guiding you all to a safe spot. Police have a barricade two blocks over. You need to stay close to me, I have eyes and ears above and if you don't stay close I cannot protect you all." Nova looked at Thor and Captain America, "go ahead with Natasha and take care of other aliens, my clan is a block away."

"Good, we need more of you." Thor said, "be careful and don't overexert yourself."

"What are you, my Aunt? I'll be fine." Nova approached the entrance, throwing a gust of wind in the other Windspeakers direction.

She waited, gesturing for Natasha, Thor, and Captain America to go ahead.

She spotted the masked Windspeakers running towards her building.

"We need to evacuate these people." Nova said.

"Understood." A masked man said.

Nova was handed a carved spear. She fingered the familiar material and examined the Windspeakers.

They were only eighteen strong.

Hopefully that would do.

"Any words from the other clans?"

"Six fire speakers, no one else."

"Alright, let's go."

It was shockingly easier to get the group to the police barrier.

The only issue was the police themselves.

They held their guns out at the masked Windspeakers.

"Who are you?!"

"We are here to help. We have brought evacuees from one of the buildings," Nova jumped in, gesturing at the huddled civilians.

"Oh." A policeman said.

They took the civilians and Nova found herself splitting away from the Windspeakers.

Nova tapped rapidly on the entrance of the gun shop, bouncing impatiently as she waited for someone to open the door.

She huffed when no one answered, using a small gust of wind to push the pins up in the lock and twisting quickly with a bobby pin.

Grinning in triumph, she opened the door and burst into the shop.

"Pete! It's me, Nova! I need ammo, and guns!"

Pete, bless his heart, peeked around the corner of the backroom and eyed Nova suspiciously.

"Nova?! What's happening?"

"Aliens Pete, an alien invasion is happening, obviously. People are trying to stop it but we need ammunition and a couple guns."

Nova rounded the counter and opened the glass.

"Take whatever you need," Pete said, "and take care of yourself, you're not really blast proof, girl."

Nova snorted, "I'm a little more blast proof than you know, Petie."
