"Alert. Spacial anomaly detected. Preliminary scans indicate it to be a natural wormhole." As James Raynor looked outside the windows of the Hyperion, beyond the hundreds of Terran, Zerg, and Protoss capital ships, he sees a light blue, swirling wormhole appearing out of the empty space.
"What do you want to do, commander?" Matthew Horner, the Hyperion's XO, asked him.
"call Sarah and Artanis, and launch all fighters."
"Affirmative."
Sarah and Artanis's faces appeared on the Hyperion's holo-screen as thousands of fighters poured out of Battlecruisers' hangar bays.
"I'm assuming you two saw the wormhole?" Jim asked.
"It's a giant gaping hole in space-time Jim, how could anyone miss it?" Sarah replied.
"I concur with Kerrigan, it seems improbable that any living being could not notice a wormhole forming." Artanis added on.
"A simple 'yes' would've been enough." Jim grumbled, "Anyways, what do we want to do now?"
"I would suggest sending some cloaked Observers through" Artanis responded, "It is unknown what is on the other side, and we should proceed with caution."
"I agree, we need more information before a decision can be made. We should focus on this for now, Amon can wait a few ours."
"Alright, so we just sit back and wait for more information." Jim concluded. "I suggest you launch your fliers too, just in case."

As Minister of Defense Francisco Batista was going over reports of a small anti-piracy skirmish in Djomaran space, a drone of Hawkeye, the Sentry Array's AI appeared through the doorway,
"Good morning sir, I'm detecting a wormhole forming in the Tozied system, it seems it leads somewhere extra-galactic, as there is no other detected formation. I've already dispatched the UNS Galileo Galilei and an escort to explore the wormhole, I'll leave the rest to you."
Batista nodded and pulled up a holo-map as the drone disappeared into the hallway. Locating Tozied, an undeveloped system on the northern edge of UNE space with only a single hyperlane connection, he thought about what could be on the other side.
The most likely possibility is that it leads to somewhere unimportant in the intergalactic void, but if it does lead to another galaxy, it could mean new resources, allies, or enemies.
Silently hoping this isn't another Gray Tempest situation, he ordered Cervantes Station to high alert, and sent 10 fleets to support it.
0829 SET (~1 hour later)
"The Galileo has reported back, the destination is confirmed to be extra-galactic, a small star cluster about 3 megalights to the east, orders sir?" reported Lisbeth Baumann, Batista's assistant.
"Nothing came through the wormhole, correct?" Batista asked.
"Correct, Hawkeye reported some strange readings from the wormhole about 50 minutes ago, but there are no unidentified objects in the system."
"Alright, move the 2nd and 3rd into orbit around Tozied, then order the Galileo and her escort through."
Baumann nodded and started to carry out the orders.
UNS SS-04 Galileo Galilei (Voyager-class Science Ship), Tozied
0841 SET (~10 minutes later)
As the 2nd and 3rd fleet moved into orbit around Tozied, Liang Gao, the chief scientist on the Galileo, watched as the ship and her escorts consisting of 10 Hurricane-class corvettes burned towards the wormhole.
Looking out the windows as the Galileo traveled through the hole in space-time, Liang was thinking about what could be on the other side. Anything is possible, from new systems ready to be colonized, to new civilizations, or worst case, another Gray Tempest situation.
"ETA 5 seconds." The ship's AI, Galileo reported.
Emerging from the wormhole, Galileo announced, "Activating first contact protocol."
