"You two are bullshiting me"
Jay grumbled, setting his apple juice box down on the tray with a bit too much force as he took another mouthful of white rice.
Kai scoffed, drinking on his boba tea.
"I swear this time we're not, Jay"
"Yeah sure"
He looked at Kai's side were a smiling Nya was looking at him, seafoam green eyes shining with laughter.
"Nya please" He whined, giving her the best puppy eyes he could muster.
Nya took her own Boba tea and drank. "He's not lying" She shrugged and kept on drinking, smile becoming a smirk as Jay groaned.
The curly-haired boy combed his hands through his messy hairstyle. "C'mon guys, it doesn't make sense!"
"It does" Nya scoffed, ignoring the indignant "Hey!" Kai let out as he helplessly saw Nya steal his jelly.
"Yeah man, just use that head of yours"
"But it just... argh!" He whined and hid his face on his hands out of frustration. "What you're telling me is just not possible"
"It is dumbass, I thought you were the intelligent of the group"
"No that's Zane"
"No that's Zane"
Kai rolled his eyes. "Besides Zane"
Jay lowered his hands and opened his mouth, ready to continue arguing the topic at hand when someone interrupted them.
"So, Why is Jay... doing whatever he's doing? I could hear his whines all the way to the other side of the cafeteria"
Lloyd sat on the row contrary to Jay's, sandwiching Kai between Nya and him.
"Because-" Jay signaled to the twins, an offended expression adorning his face.
"These two-" Kai bats Jay's hand away "These two insist they were born in different years"
Lloyd looked confusedly at them, tilting his head to the side, straps of blonde hair falling over his green eyes, it reminded Jay of a puppy.
"Aren't you two twins?"
"Yeah"
"But you say you were born on different years?"
"Yep"
"And like, it's on your official document and all that?'"
"Mhm"
"... Then... how?"
"Exactly!" Jay threw up his arms, clearly annoyed at this whole conversation, both siblings only shrugged, smiling and and went back on drinking their Boba.
"Oh hey! You got Boba without me! That's not fair!" Lloyd whined once he actually took on what the siblings were doing.
Kai decided it was a good time as any to pull up big brother privileges and flick Lloyd's forehead. "Not our fault you had to make up for that one exam"
"But, but that wasn't my fault! Garmadons alarm went off!"
"Sorry bud" Kai shrugged.
"Don't listen to them Lloyd, they skipped history to get those Bobas"
"Dude!"
Apparently that's all Lloyd needed to hear as he decided the next best course of action was to bite Kai, the older teen let out a groan and pushed him away.
"Damn! Your teeth are sharp, what the fuck Lloyd, you really are feral"
Lloyd growled in annoyance, muttering another "That's not fair" before starting to eat his own lunch.
"Okay okay, ignoring Lloyd puppy whines-" Ah sponful of beans was thrown towards Jay way, which passed by the side of his head and splattered onto the ground. "I won't believe you until I see... I don't know, birth certificates or something?"
Nya was about to answer when someone else joined them, again.
"You guys are causing such a rockus, you're gonna get us detention"
"Please" Kai scoffed "I'm sure everyone is used to it by now"
"I could heard your screams all the way to the other side of the cafeteria"
"Told you"
"Yeah well, no one even seems to ever bat an eye, I doubt this is anything different"
"Meh. That's fair I guess."
As Cole picked a cookie from his tray and practically shoved it onto his mouth he turned to see an annoyed Jay.
"What's wrong Bluejay?"
Apparently tired of the discussion Jay only side-eyed the Twins. "They insist they were born on different years"
Cole blinked, confused, as he took another cookie and ate it asking the obvious "But, aren't you twins?"
"Yes Cole"
Before he could ask the exact same question as Lloyd their last buddy arrived.
Zane was the last one to arrive, mostly empty handed but one could see he was carrying a lunchbox on his backpack.
"Greetings, Why are Kai and Nya glaring at everyone with annoyance?"
"They insist they were born on different years and I call bullshit"
Cole and Lloyd chorused a "same" and Zane, to no one's surprise, blinked at them, confused.
"I thought you two were twins? You look like twins and everything indicates you two are twins"
Kai sighed while Nya pinched the bridge of her nose, this was getting ridiculous.
"Thanks Zane, yes, we're aware we're twins""
"Then can you explain how-"
"Because I was born on December 31st and Kai on January 1st?" It was obvious the little game had annoyed the siblings to the point of just giving up and explaining the whole ordeal.
"Ooooooooh"
"Ah, of course"
"You know that makes sense"
"I knew it"
Kai sighed as he started to eat the tapioca balls one by one.
"Sometimes I wonder if there's a single braincell between all of you"
"I don't wanna hear that from you of all people" Jay exclaimed pointing at Kai with his fork, the spiky-haired teen just threw his way a Tapioca ball, making the shorter teen yelp.
"So you do have different birth years" Cole, like the rest of the group, decides to ignore the quarreling teens. "Never would've thought of that"
"I guess is very rare" Nya said, following the example of his twin in eating the Tapioca balls, she continued.
"See I was born first through natural birth a bit before midnight but somehow Kai made everything more difficult and mom had to have a c-section"
"That's one hell of a birth"
"Yep"
"Wait so, by how much are you the oldest?"
Nya eyes shine mischievously while Kai chewed on the plastic straw, ignoring the question.
"Around twelve hours"
"Twelve hours?!"
"I told you there were complications"
"Yeah but... Wow"
"So you're telling me Kai wasn't born, he was ripped out, like an alien"
"Exactly, he's my little alien baby brother" Nya cooed.
"I'm not an alien" Not once in his life Kai would admit this got his face red all the way to the tip of his ears.
"Of course you are! Just look at the abnormal thing growing over your head, if that's not an alien thing then I don't know what it is"
The table erupts in laughter.
Kai believes that the empty plastic cup thrown at Jay's head (by yours, truly) was well deserved.
